Who will be attending New York Anime Festival, also known as New York Comic Con? The convention will be taking over the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Try going since you get to see M. Shala-mamamamaman whatshisface get torn apart by Avatar fans. Expect me to be there laughing in a corner at this. ANYHOW. Try to go if you can't shell out $55 then go at least on Saturday since that's usually the best day of most conventions. the price of that day is $40. Sunday is the cheapest but it's when everything starts to die and whatnot. I'll be there as well as a black mage and in a Matryoshka cosplay. Err...I don't even know if anyone want sot find me ; A; But try to go. Visit a panel or two and the maid cafe. I'm only doing the former since I'm stubborn. Don't be like me XD Farah for butler/maid for 2011! *shot* I'm so reckless that it won't work. Random con tips: -You're better off buying your Pocky/Ramune outside of the convention center before you go in. Plus you can bribe people if you buy enough. O`wO Totally not planning something evil. -Say no to the Pocky Game! 'nuff said. -Keep your sanity in check. Most people tend to lose it and the results aren't that great. -Don't attack/glomp/hug a person without permission! If their prop or cosplay is destroyed they will be pissed beyond belief. I sure will and I'll pull a double(fencing move, hard to block) on yo....butt. >-> -Same applies from others to you. If a bunch of fangirls try to make you do fanservice say no! Or call for me and I'll kick their butts like a boss! -Don't be a prick. Going up to someone and telling them that they're doing it wrong in terms of cosplay is wrong and down right rude. You have no idea how much effort in planning is put in to that. Save for the L cosplayers. You can Spartan kick them into a hole. >->; -Telling a lolita "Nice costume" is an insult. You'll end up being killed by their $300 BJDs. -STAY IN A GROUP! ALWAYS. This is so important that it's not even funny, my friend's friend has entered more kidnapping attempts in a con then you can imagine by the oddest people. So for your safety have someone with you or stay with the staff. Anyone that can be deemed as safe. Stick to your gut intuition. Be safe. For me? -Bring batteries. Tons of batteries. Many a time has a camera died at the wrong time. One reason why I'm bringing 3 cameras with me. My phone, my old cruddy camera and my cybershot. What? I prioritize this kind of stuff. -MAKE SURE YOU ABIDE TO ALL CON RULES. Read them they're on the site. -Say hi to me? ; A; But most of all HAVE FUN! Make tons of friends and visit the dealer's room and buy some fanstuff. They may be pricey but try to support the artists that work hard to bring you these. They don't really profit from this only enough to break even so please see them. Give 'em a compliment or two as well. I'll be there on Friday and Saturday since I bought my ticket for only $40. College anime club and connections get you this kind of stuff. If you go as a group then tickets are only $45 I believe. See ya there! EDIT: The con was pretty darn peaceful even though it was 90% Comic Con. OH YEAHS. Comic Con and NYAF are going to be shoved together next year. I'm only raging due to the unfair balancing. Did anyone visit the cafe? I passed by it only. @-@ But I stayed away from it due to personal reasons. dus[T] was quite a dashing butler. XD *shot* Edited by Isodan, Oct 11 2010, 05:21 PM.

That's so cool! I didn't get to meet many people save from Crispin Freeman during the con since I mostly followed my friends. THAT MAP WAS TERRIBLE ; A; I learned an important lesson. Always plan ahead. @-@ |

I really enjoyed the con. Random anime stuff everywhere, cosplayers, and me cosplaying cowboy Marik (I'll try to post some pictures). Bomberman good, FFXIV online glitchy. Talked to some people who had been in one of littlekurriboh's vids. There was even a whole area set aside for Magic: TG. Wish I had spotted you people there. Now I'm off to nurse my aching throat. |

I went to Comic Con/Anime fest and stocked up on so much of my favorite anime goods. I saw a lot of cool cosplayers, had fun with friends, and saw some really weird and cool stuff. I hope to attend next year also (if I have the time and money), hope to meet some new people that I can go with next year =D |

I wanted to go, but, unfortunately, didn't have the time or money ]; (More like, I didn't feel like it... I dunno why) I heard from ForgottenBaka that it was pretty packed, and a lot of good stuff was sold out. I am probably going next year if I can, and if my parents let me >_> Hopefully, I'll be able to go and get a straw hat :D |

I was at the Durarara panel towards the from with a blue/green/blonde wig! Dying wigs. It's now a hobby of mine though buying Sharpies makes me cry sometimes. Darn you Blicks. Well...just my broke self. Um...random update. There's currently a survey sponsored by Reeds for the NYAF part of the convention. Please voice your opinions on the event and how it was essentially thrown in the convention center's basement. Well, I can't force them to say that. Please voice your opinions on the event I think it'll really help! |
