So I just got the news from my friend on the Ticket pricing for NYAF and I just looked into AnimeNext so here's the breakdown.

NYAF
-NYAF's tickets have gone up buy a good $10-$15. Like last year it will be a combination of ComicCon and NYAF. Pray that the security was as bad as last year.
-NYAF Apple Kissa Cafe submissions will begin...I don't know. Actually I'm not sure if they're taking more people this year but it's just something I heard. Don't trust me. BUTLERS PLEASE.
-Don't be like me and film your audition at the last minute. TRUST ME. But do think of what you plan on putting. O wO
-Tickets

AnimeNext
-Vic Monogonogognog (Ed/Dark/Tamaki's VA) will be attending. Expect me to do something stupid.
-If you order in a group you save $5.
-Tickets

PAS Spring Fest
-At PolyTech. It's at Jay Street
-Free entry I believe
-Performers will be there and cosplayers
-March 12th

Sakura Matsuri
-Tickets are still $10 without your student ID I believe. I see it says $4 with ID but bring $10 since the food is overpriced...
-It'll be held April 30th and May 1st
-It's in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Japan Day 2011
-May 30th

I would totally go to most of these events... exept im gonna be in California all summer... so yeah. NYAF is gonna be fine, since I went to last years one and it was awesome! There are just so many people who are willing to go to events like these dressed up in the ways that they do

Lucky! I always wanted to visit California since they have a ton of anime convantions and there's an Angelic Pretty and Btssb store(Lolita stores XD)! I'd love to go there one day...*hides in a suitcase* There's also Animinicon in the late summer but I have no confirmation on the event yet. NYC has a host club in Soho. I'M SO GOING THERE.

But do check out what's available I'm sure it'll be awesome!

I'm still not all too content with the price hike on NYAF. There's a lot of improvement that is needed based on last year.

That might seem nice but it is actually quite the opposite. There are so many cons within california at that time that i dont have the cash to go to a single one of them. They are expensive to go to, and thats without the ticket. All of the affordable ones aren't in the summer and/or are too far away from where I can get reliable shelter at night (family's place). It still gnaws at my soul that the only con that is within a 10-20 minute drive from their place, since it is in the same city as them, usually has their tickets sold out within minutes of the ending of the previous con. (I think you can figure out which con that is.

There'd better be more room at NYAF! There seemed to be too much overcrowding. But I'm sure that's why they raised ticket prices: to deter people from coming while still getting the same amount of money.

Counterfeiting tickets seems to be pretty easy though. It's a plastic card with a string on it. So get a plastic card and tape a picture of a real ticket on it. I only said that so my post would have more than 50 words.

I just asked the staff for a ticket and I got two 8D But that's because I was on the verge of tears since my club president's phone wasn't working and I couldn't get my ticket from him. ; A; I still have my badge though. Security wasn't all that great...I'm still upset that the ticket price was increased by $10-$15. I only payed $40 for a weekend pass last year but that was due to my club.

so is anyon heading to sakura matsui this year? I really want to go but last time i went to an event by myself, i felt overwhelmed. Also, asking random strangers on what to do feels sad on my part. also, what type of things happened last year, so i can get the jist on whats going to happen this year.

I really want to go to the Sakura Matsuri this year. I love cherry blossoms mainly due to Cardcaptor Sakura. The pictures on the Botanical Garden's website looks so pretty. I wish this festival was held during the spring break...it would've been so much better since all my friends are free during the break.

I SHALL BE AT SAKURA MATSURI. If I finish my Matryoshka sweater. But I'll be boss worthy since I'm putting a different spin on it and I know the dance. LIKE A BOSS. If you see a chick with a bright green sweater and a mask tied to the side of her head then that's me. I think the reason why it's being held so late is due to Easter and other religious holidays the week prior so it wouldn't have as large of a turnout.

Cosplayers overwhelm me too. *is poor* I can't afford wigs....

well thats great! im pondering if i should come dressed up in my Frank West outfit, although i am a bit pudgy. Im only scared that it might rain or it might be too how for my outfit, and or be ostracized for my cosplay. You dot think they might delay it due to weather right?
