| Welcome to Big Boards. Big Boards at one time offered the Zathyus network our long famous Resource Archives, our extensive search indexes, and our info-packed resource forums. Eventually, these were made redundant by upgrades to the documentations and expanded search features added to the ZetaBoards software, and this forum then lost relevancy and subsequently became inactive. Our team then embarked on a new project called Planet Nexus, where a bold new experiment in forum promotion is taking place. We call it nexworking. NexusTree offers social networking pages for forums in a fully automated format. Your NexusTree page is created instantly when your join the nexus. Find out more by visiting Planet Nexus, and become part of the nexworking revolution. ![]() If you're already a member please log in to your account for additional access: |

Board URL: -PM me if you need it What browser(s) are you using? FF3 Your Forum System (IF or ZB):ZB Your Issue/Question: I have seen forums that when you click a link it has a pop-up. So my forum is still being messed with. When people type in the plain link without the /index/ it gives them a popup. So heres the difference.
gives you a pop up doesn't Do you get what I want? |

Are you saying that you want a link to open in a new window? If so, you can use something like this for that effect (put your link where it says "URL" and the text you want users to click on where it says "Text"):
Or were you talking about a Javascript pop-up? |

All right, then I've found this code to work really well: http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/javascript/popupwindows.html To add it, you copy and paste this either Below the Board or Above the Copyright in your board template: You can change the bolded numbers to alter the height and the width of the pop-up. Then, for the links that you want to pop-up in a new window, you use this code: Change the red text to the URL that you want to open (example: http://bigboardsresources.com/) and change the orange text to the text you want the user to click on. |

You put the first part in either the Below the Board or Above the Copyright of your board template. You use the second part wherever you have links that you want to pop-up in a new window. |

^That's actually not the case. The "Text" is just the link. The "content" in that case would be on the separate page that is being linked to, where the URL is. Example: Text <-- Just the link to a page. InkLock, you never mentioned anything about what is in the pop-up box, but if that's what you're looking for, you could try using the webpage maker and just putting its URL in the code I gave you. |

Would you mind giving a link to your page where the link is? You can PM it to me if you don't want to post it. |

It seems like you may be missing the "<" at the very beginning of the code. Copy and paste this exactly; make sure you highlight all the text:

No, you put this code wherever you want the link to show:
Where would you like to add the link? That's where you would put this part of the code. Be sure to replace the "URL" with the actual URL of the link as well, and "Text" with whatever you want the link to say. |
