Welcome to Big Boards. Big Boards at one time offered the Zathyus network our long famous Resource Archives, our extensive search indexes, and our info-packed resource forums. Eventually, these were made redundant by upgrades to the documentations and expanded search features added to the ZetaBoards software, and this forum then lost relevancy and subsequently became inactive.

Our team then embarked on a new project called Planet Nexus, where a bold new experiment in forum promotion is taking place. We call it nexworking. NexusTree offers social networking pages for forums in a fully automated format. Your NexusTree page is created instantly when your join the nexus. Find out more by visiting Planet Nexus, and become part of the nexworking revolution.

What started your interest that you may have today in coding?

For me, it was when I actually started HTML at the age of around 7, then it didn't really mean much to me, but now I see how much it can really do, and what it can grow into, which kind of kept me going even if it has been on and off for quite a while now.

I started coding to supplement my IF experience. That was a year or two ago, when I learned HTML and CSS.

I actually did code some (very poor) JS a year or two ago, but it was very, very bad. I got interested in coding JS for "real" (as in, not horrible) a few months ago when I saw how mathematical it was and all the neat things you could do with it. Since then, I'd say I've improved a thousandfold.. but hey, that's life for you.

I also began learning HTML and CSS to better be able to manipulate my IF board. I attempted Javascript multiple times but was very unsuccessful at learning it. Then when my board converted to ZB, I saw that jQuery was much easier for me to understand, so I started using it for little changes around the board.

I didn't take the time to learn Javascript properly until we started gearing up for the BB conversion actually, lol. In the past two months I've really gotten a much better handle on it, which allowed me to be a lot more helpful in the conversion process. Also, about a year ago I learned some really basic PHP to make a simple form to allow me to more easily add articles and reviews to my website. Then recently I've learned a bit more to help out BB. So yeah, a lot of my coding knowledge is the result of BB. :D

I must also admit that Reid was also a bit of an inspiration in my decision to give Javascript another shot. I read about how quickly he learned his stuff and I thought "Well, if Reid can do it, then so can I!" :P

I've procrastinated a lot with learning JavaScript, and when I do want to start with it again, I've got no idea where to begin, so I never end up doing anything ;S

I was interested in HTML and CSS back when I was in middle school due to my addiction to neopets - I wanted to make pretty guild and pet page layouts. ^_^ But I moved onto IF where I didn't need to know anything to customize my forum and fell out of it. Maybe one day I'll sit down and relearn it.

Wanting to improve BB when it was on IF, basically. It's fun to manipulate objects with little pieces of code, so that's another reason.
