Welcome to Big Boards. Big Boards at one time offered the Zathyus network our long famous Resource Archives, our extensive search indexes, and our info-packed resource forums. Eventually, these were made redundant by upgrades to the documentations and expanded search features added to the ZetaBoards software, and this forum then lost relevancy and subsequently became inactive.

Our team then embarked on a new project called Planet Nexus, where a bold new experiment in forum promotion is taking place. We call it nexworking. NexusTree offers social networking pages for forums in a fully automated format. Your NexusTree page is created instantly when your join the nexus. Find out more by visiting Planet Nexus, and become part of the nexworking revolution.

Well I do have that code for per-made templates for topics.. I've currently put the code into a notepad until I've sorted things out because it was taking up alot of space and I will need alot more as I'm using it for applications which people are suppose to fill out if the're wanting to join my clan.

The topic template code can be hosted like the other one. If they go into the same area of the Board Template, they can be hosted in the same notepad style. Just make sure the beginning and ending script tags are removed for both codes.

Here is how to host the announcement table:

Hosting HTML tables via javascript:

Hosting HTML is possible via JavaScript, using the HTML DOM write() method. However, simply inserting HTML content between the document.write element will not cut it. Other actions need to be taken in order to host HTML externally. In this documentation, I will list the ways in which HTML can be hosted via JavaScript.

Quote:

document.write("<table border='1'>\
<tr>\
<td>row 1, cell 1</td>\
<td>row 1, cell 2</td>\
</tr>\
<tr>\
<td>row 2, cell 1</td>\
<td>row 2, cell 2</td>\
</tr>\
</table>");

There's a prime example of what your HTML external file should look like.

  • Colors indicate:
    _- Blue: Double quotation marks need to be wrapped around all HTML content placed within the document.write __element.
    _- Red: Single quotation marks need to be placed around applicable HTML.
    _- Green: Backslashes placed at the end of each line of text to "escape" the new-line characters.

  • To host your HTML, please follow the instructions below.

_- Open Notepad and copy and paste the following code into the document: document.write("");
_- Insert the HTML that you wish to host between the quotation marks ("-").
_- Use the "Replace" option (Edit Posted Image Replace) to replace all double quotation marks (") with single quotation marks ('). __Now that you've done this, replace the very first and last single quotation marks with double quotation marks.
_- Place backslashes (\) at the end of each line of text. Lines that contain no text will also need to have a backslash __inserted on the line.
_- Save the file as an IBF file by placing .ibf after the file name. Select "All Files" from the "Save as type" drop-down __menu.
_- Upload the file to your board (see this Documentation) and obtain the URL of the uploaded file from your File __Manager (Admin CP Posted Image File Manager Posted Image View Uploads [Attachments]). Right click on the uploaded file and choose __"properties" to get the URL, or just right-click and use "Copy Link Location" if you are using Firefox.
_- Place the following code where you would like the HTML to appear.

Quote:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://68.13.999.99/9999/27/upload/p9999999.ibf"></script>

__Replace the text highlighted in blue with the URL of the uploaded file.

Forum-topic templates appear to be working fine.

Forum-post templates don't work due to one minor error.

Locate the following bit of coding and change the text highlighted in red to t.
Quote:

// Default Topic/Post Template (By Mwr247)
var cpt=document.getElementById('c_post-text');
function ttemp(forumid,posttxt){
if(location.href.match('f='+forumid)&&location.href.match('mode=1')){
cpt.value+=posttxt+'\n';}}
function ptemp(forumid,posttxt){
if(location.href.match('f='+forumid)&&location.href.match('mode=2')){
cpt.value+=posttxt+'\n';}}
That award code appears to have various errors. Consider using a different code; if you can't find a similar code then validate that one.

This code use to work before hosting it. But how does this validate thing go on?

Validating your codes just ensures that they will be error-less, which is likely to cause little to no errors on the browsers end.

Externally hosting codes that contain errors may cause them to malfunction, as opposed to inserting the code in your template.
