One year, that was all, since the real vampires had come and taken over. One year since Quil and I had scrambled out of our situations as near paedophiles. One year since my pack, and old Sam Uley’s pack, had merged, because of his death. One year since he, Paul, and Seth had died. One year since all the sparkly vampires had been destroyed. Now, walking along the beach, I wonder just how long it will take for me to forget. Leah’s still in pain, still suffering because of Seth’s death, though with help from the other La Push peeps it’s been alleviated a small bit. I can’t blame her - she’d lost her father and then her brother, like I had lost my mother. And I’m also in pain - but a different sort of pain. Something that I didn’t expect to come from not feeling remorse for the sparkly leeches’ wiping out. Though it had been a good seven odd years, I still feel upset about what Bella and Edward - and even their little ‘child’ which was more a demon from hell - had done to me. I can’t believe how little backbone I’d had back then. Bella and Edward had thought themselves the winners, and I the loser. And I was the loser, no denying that. I let myself lose. Lose what? Being flirted with for information, then being used so someone else could hear a lost one’s voice in their head, then being forced to break rules for that person, having to save that person from drowning, losing that person for a while, then having to listen to that person defending their boyfriend, being kissed by that person even if they would always choose their fiancé over you, then nearly getting killed by that person, being trusted with that person’s demon child thing, and doing all sorts of dangerous stuff for a person who was never your friend - that’s all real life. Yeah, I had totally lost the game of life. That was the worst part. That was Bella and I - and I, of all the bloody people who lived on this bloody planet, fell for her! When I could clearly see she was the biggest, whiniest cow! I’ve ever encountered! If I was what I am now back then, I would have been so psychologically freaked out I would have had a heart attack. But she was gone now, and so was the freak I imprinted on. Which made me a freak as well. A total freak. Though it’s been seven years now, I can still feel pain and anger and shock. There were times when she was genuine; when she was actually acting like a normal friend, a normal teenage girl. I just wish she was a normal teenage girl instead of a girl destined to become a mosquito. I’m still angry at her for what she did to me. Leaving me for a sparkly parasite was only the start of my, albeit private, enlightenment. Maybe she wasn’t as good as I thought she was back then. Didn’t stop me from being in love with her, though. Half of me was trying to pull me away from her, the other half trying to get me to get things from her before she became an enormously oversized tick. Guess that other half won, though it proved to be worse for me in the end. If only I could have chosen who I would want to spend my life with. As it is, I could think of loads of ‘if only’ phrases, the situation was that bad. What hurts me most about Bella is how selfish she was. I kissed her right before us shape shifters and vamps went to battle, and I broke half of my bones saving Leah, which made me feel like a piece of crap. I wonder if she saw the expression on my face when she came to visit. I knew my own emotional pain - breaking half of your bones like that will traumatise anyone, I’m sure - was scrawled across my face. And she told what I knew she’d tell me. She didn’t care it made me feel so much worse. In my mind, after she rejected me, I never really considered Bella a friend. But I kept those thoughts stored away, for the sake of my life. Boy, could that girl throw a tantrum, and boy could Edward run and fight, I have to admit. But I did enjoy telling him I’d kill him if he ended up killing Bella with the sex stuff. Or at least, I’d try to kill him. Seven years ago. And yet my memory of those times still remains clear. |

Thanks! ![]() Yeah. Jacob is the only character I like so far. This is actually a bit of a prologue to the novel length parody I told Sweetdang about. Major plot points in there... if you look hard enough... |

I'm telling you, this will be awful. Absolutely awful! Bloodshed, death (lots and lots of death), more vampires, betrayal, time travel, secrets, a huge battle... I'm pushing myself past my limits. If I can pull it off... And don't forget I need to make the characters strong and believable and the plot coherent. Hey, it's Jacob. It's in his nature to call vampires things like that. Not just those two. I'm doing a steal and the lot of them are going in with a few exceptions... This is going to be the most difficult thing I've ever done... |

My first name's Rosalind, and I'm keeping my last name private for safety reasons. Now let's be honest, there's not many authors with the name Rosalind poking about. And if you flipped the book open and saw a dedication to BW you'd know it would be me. |

But I'm sure you have standards too. See, this is exactly the problem SMeyer has. Her writing is awful, and she has legions of Twazis and Twihards and Twitards supporting her no matter what. Denying there's no flaw in her stories... you're doing just that. I don't want this... it creeps me out to think someone could put my writing on a pedestal that high. |

Self-confidence issues, really. If I had a little more belief in myself, I wouldn't be despairing of failure so much. Thanks!
