The thing to do is to take the item in question and inconspicuously move it to a different part of the shop (where you are sure there is no surveillance). This can be easier or harder than it sounds, depending on the number of customers in the shop, the number of staff, the number of security, and the location of the item. As for taking a disc, however, you'd have to hit it just right, as most of them are sealed with those metal strips inside them, making it impossible to just walk out with it like you could a book (which is still tricky, as the strips can be hidden behind the price tag). Therefore, for a DVD, you'd have to open the package, remove the disc, and quickly either conceal or replace the opened package. You'd also pretty much have to stuff the disc in your pocket, so you're running the risk of scratching it and rendering it useless. So, really, it depends on what you're willing to go through and how much or little you are willing to pay. |
