Chapter 28: Lord of the Night “Fools! By the time they realize it, it will be too late!” Nightmare cackled in pure ecstasy, having tricked several of his most hated enemies into the unstable chamber. The sound of fighting carried on down through the escape tunnel, bringing the fighters closer and closer to their demise. Without warning, he ran into an obstruction. As he looked hard at hit thought he dim light, he saw that it had a form resembling that of a human, with his arms outstretched and palms extended forwards.. “You! What the hell are you doing down here! Why aren’t you fighting or saving your little friends,” Nightmare panicked, drawing his sword. The shadows of the tunnel were long and dark, providing perfect kindling material for Darkfire. It fed on the darkness, on the absence of light, and devoured everything in its path. |
