I just got the Star Wars collection on DVD
 Man, it is still soo cool, even after, what, nearly thirty years? Vader gets my vote as second best movie villain....  Dunno about you, but that opening sequence to New Hope still makes me feel giddy. Time to root out my AT-AT, and start shooting some rebel fighters.

3... The original trilogy. Ep 4, 5, and 6. Much better than the other two that pretend to be Star Wars movies.. although they weren't awful, they were worse than the first three... |

yeah, but there's three movies
 There's a fourth disc with some special features, but I haven't looked at that at all just yet, I bought the set for the movies, not for any extras.

OMG. Just watched 'Jedi ' again. Vader is so cool... but I love the Ewoks! By far the best film is Empire, but everyone say that, don't they? (because it's true!) And the Stormtrooper still bangs his head in this one... Any more Star Wars fans out there, in that galaxy far, far away?

Really.. get it, watch it, it's worth it. I'm having fun now digging out my old Star Wars figures too... The Endor scenes are much better than I remember... |

good point. It's not great that they fiddled with it so much. I'm just glad I have 'as-close-to-original-as-I'm-gonna-get' copies on VHS. Old ones... It's nice if you can possibly turn a blind eye to all the numerous changes... but, really, who couldn't see this coming?

It seems I'm the only person who's actually happy with the changes. I love the Star Wars movies, but I think the little tweaks they were given only made them better. Perhaps I'm not at the point of idolisation that demands that the movies be set in stone and can't be improved in any way without blaspheming, but that's me. I'm of a rare breed. I actually enjoyed the two new Star Wars movies

oh, it's not bad, don't get me wrong, but over time if you watch a film enough it sorta means you get used to it. This is why I don't like remakes of films, because they get it wrong. The film looks nicer than it ever did before, a heckuva lot cleaner and stuff. I just preferred the original. But it's nice to watch it in the comfort of your own home
