Defender of MolMol Posts: 8,973 Group: General Member #1 Joined: September 5, 2004	the_end_of_all_things_to_come what type do you listen to? Who's your favorite band(s)/singer(s)? That way (since we already all pretty much like Love Hina and Su and all) we could diversify our music or what-not because we may find ANOTHER thing we like. (Yeah, that sounds kind of cheesy.) As for me, I live for punk rock, some heavy metal, Industrial, very little alternative,(very,very few commercial bands [those you see on MTV]) I also like ska (a different type of rock), and I really like techno/dance/trance music, but I hate it when it has words (actual lyrics). It sort of defeats the purpose. As for my favorite bands (oh, boy, here we go...) Punk-NOFX, Authority Zero, Pulley, Bad Religion, The Offspring, etc... Ska- Mustard Plug, Aquabats, Reel Big Fish, etc... Industrial- Mindless Self Indulgence, Rammstein, etc... Alternative- Three Days Grace (just that one song), Chronic Future (that one song) Heavy Metal- Lamb of God, Soilwork, Slipknot, (the original, not today's), Slayer, Mudvayne, etc... Techno/Dance/Trance- Oh God, I don't really even know their names... Uh... Apogee, F. Massif, Daft Punk, Naomi, etc...

Bands - Queen, GNR, Metallica, Nirvana, REM, Linkin Park, Oasis, Blur, Foos, Korn, Simon & Garfunkel, Iron Maiden, Muse.

I would have to say that theGrunge movement is the best thing of all time. A lot of rock would sound the same if not for grunge. (And why is Iron Maiden clickable?) Rammstein is awesome. They're my favorite foreign band (I think). Oh, wait. I already listed Rammstein. Whatever. They're still good. My favorites are Engel and Feuer Frei. As for Solo's comment: I generally can't listen to the normal classical music. If I listen, it's got to be a type of music I can dwell and focus on, thus my favorite classical: Moonlight Sonata. (I pretty sure it's Beethoven.)

Onto Jrock and Jpop: TOKIO, The Pillows, L'arc En Ciel, W-inds, Ayumi Hamasaki, Hikara Utada Classical: Bach, Haydn, Handel, Mozart, Grainger, etc. <---I'm in three different orchestras, and a quintet, I better know what I'm talking about...o_O Eh...I really like music.

Originally, it referred to a new wave of (mainly British, I think) artists in the early 90s who didn't like big record companies, and so set up their own or went "independent". eg Oasis, Blur, Radiohead, Pulp, The Verve (The Cure, maybe) Nowadays it just means anyone who isn't quite rock, I suppose. It's having a bit of a revival. eg All of the above, R.E.M., Franz Ferdinand, Keane, Snow Patrol, Travis, Stereophonics etc That's what I'd say.

I'm sorry to say I've not heard of Grainger, but at least I've heard of the others in that list, so yo can't say I'm totally uncultured... I just don't have an opinion on them really. You play in an orchestra wow... you must be really good...
