What? Neither Pennywise or NOFX are ska, so what are you talking about? Suggested Ska bands: Operation Ivy Less Than Jake Mad Caddies Mustard Plug Reel Big Fish Aquabats A few Goldfinger songs Bad Manners Madness Sublime Voodoo Glow Skulls Pennywise and NOFX are straight punk. The only thing they have in common is that they both focus on the issues of society. Pennywise moreso than NOFX as NOFX tends to go crazy with some of their songs and more often than not takes a humorous-ish approach to their song (Happy Break-Up Song, The Idiots Are Taking Over) whereas Pennywise confronts the issues straight-up (God Save the U.S.A, Fight 'Till You Die) If that's what you're looking for in punk music, then may I suggest Rise Against (The First Drop), Goldfinger (Open Your Eyes), Sum 41 (Fat Lip), Atmosphere (Make-Shift Patriot), Authority Zero (Some People), Millencolin (Trendy Winds), Death By Stereo (Unstoppable), The Bouncing Souls (Born Free), and almost anything by Bad Religion. |

Yes, they've done a few good covers. I also like "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" I like cover songs by punk bands because they're usually very slow to begin with. I hate slow songs. Mustard Plug did a cover of Verve Pipe's "Freshmen" that everybody says suxxorz but I think it's quite good, actually.
Well, I don't claim to know all about them, because I don't, so they may have done a few ska songs, but they've gone straight punk since then if they did...And I'm pretty sure NOFX did a few 'cause they say so in their song "We Don't Play Ska Anymore ('Cause it Sucks)" , but I wouldn't neccessarily put them in the ska-punk category 'cause nothing recent of theirs is ska. Goldfinger is more-so ska-punk and of this I am sure because their song "Superman" is ska. EDIT: BTW, what DO you listen to??? |

heavy metal, black metal, death metal, nu-metal, grunge, and a bit of punk.. well instead of me mentioning all the genre.. rather let me name a few bands that i listen to nirvana, korn, slipknot, slayer, offspring, rammstein, goo goo dolls, metallica, mr big... etc |

Not necessarily. I posted several songs and that's not all I listen to. I see your point but shouldn't it be fine as long as it wasn't totally random? -_0 I mean, if it was this: madcow:*lists hated band* me:Wh47 73h 1337 d0 y0U 1iS73n 70? madcow:WTF? Then I'd understand. *Just read hinarei's second post* Well I already typed all that, so i'm not hitting backspace that much. Back on topic, however: I was in Circuit City looking in the music/special interest section and was reminded of two bands I loathe: Insane Clown Posse, and Kottonmouth Kings. Both of these bands are made up of morons who are absolutely convinced they are of African heritage in some form, and often put marijuana leaves on their products and CDs; wherever there is a visual image for them to put, and this is wrong.  You do not use the herb, the herb uses you.
