Has anyone read Ai ga Tomaranai? (AI Love You) It's the first series that Akamatsu-sensei did, and comes before LH did... Anyway, if you did, maybe you will know about what I'm talking about... First off... Does anyone remember any of Sara McDougal's (LH) back story? She's from the US... California... But I cant remember much else... Mostly what I'm getting at... Is the name of her mother or anything mentioned? (its been a while... I cant remember much. >_<) Because... In AI Love You... There is a character... Cynthia McDougal... (Coincidence?) She's from the US... California, in fact... She's some sort of Hollywood star... (Again... Coincidence? O__o) So then, is there any connection? Can anyone validate these suspicions of mine?

Akamatsu has many name coincidences in his books, but Sarah is not Cynthia. She may have been related, but there is also a 10 year time difference. Cynthias father is head of ibn. Sarahs father is seta. Coincidentally, both of their mums are dead. |

Canad... Did you read a WORD I said? I never assumed Sara was Cynthia... Its OBVIOUS they arent the same character. >.< What I was thinking... was possibly this Cindy could be Sara's mother? That's why I was wondering if anyone had any further Sara Backstory knowledge. O_o |

well ken never really made it clear that cindy is sarah's mom... but my opinion on this is pretty much the same as yours... most of ken's work do relate (e.g love hina's motoko and mahou sensei's setsuna) so.... i rekon that cindy could be sarah's mom |

The most they ever touch on the subject... is they show a picture of Sara's mom... I'll have to take a look and post pictures from the two series... I havent looked back on AI Love You since I reread Love Hina... But I still think it's awfully similar... Maybe we should try emailing Akamatsu and asking? O___o |
