Note the keyword: Registered. That's the main reason for this topic: you know, a congratulations. But I think we should assess the situation and possibly start deleting unreasonably inactive accounts. This, by my terms, would be: 1) Members which have not created an introduction thread and have posted less than a total of 5 times in more than one month and/or 2) Members who have an account with less than 2 posts over a period of two months, but have created an introduction thread. These are just my standards, and the administration may want to handle it differently, but I don't think we should vouch for what we don't actually have. I myself experienced a rather long period of absense, so I can understand someone who has posted at least 10 times ending up gone for no reason, but I don't think anyone would be offended at the prospect of losing no more than five posts due to excessive inactivity.

Regardless, it's not so much that it bothers me, but why should we keep excessively inactive accounts? If they were genuinely interested in CIEI, they would have bothered to at least introduce themselves and/or check in once in a while. Besides, it can also limit the options for names. This isn't much of a problem at the moment, as we're still relatively small, but this could become a problem if CIEI continues to grow at a constant rate.

Accounts with no posts should certainly not stay (as they haven't), and I see what FH means, I think. With a forum of this size, it makes sense to actually only count active members as real members. Why not keep a log, Kev? If anyone with below 10 or so posts is MIA for morre than a few months, knock em off!

A high membership count makes people more likely to join. Think about it. Take two boards with 10 regulars and 90 inactives = 100 total registered users. Board A wipes the inactives has 10 members left. Board B keeps the inactives has 100 members left. Which one of the boards is more likely to get new registrations? I'd say the second.
