not beat... trounced
 if you don't take the sport seriously at some point, you'll get beat... honestly, the only reason the US made it to the World Cup was because they beat the likes of the mighty Honduras... ![]() Japan got done over too... but that was by the Aussies... |

A chef is so fervent in his support for England, that he's sculpted a statue of Steven Gerrard in lard. Brazil went one step further. They've given theirs the number 9 shirt No offence, but I can't see the Socceroos (ugh!) beating the Brazilians, no matter how poorly Brazil are playing right now... |

don't leave you with much to say on the matter of crazy.Argentina are on a roll... but I'd like to see them come up against a good team before I can say they're on course to win it

Oh, the chances of that are pathetically slim (although if it happens, we'll never let them live it down). I figure we're hoping for a draw because it's likely that Brazil will kick the other two team's asses

Apart from Brazil's previous record or the way they thrashed the other South American teams in the preliminaries, not really. I said it was likely, not certain, so their performance in the past is enough justification for that opinion

But you do realise that not all matches in the past can confirm with whom/what team you're playing against...matches in the past just show how good you are compared with those teams...a little luck and Brazil just might win...but hey, that's just how soccer games are...skill and a little luck.

As I emphasised before, I said it was opinion, not confirmation
I'm well aware that part of it is luck. Who knows, we might have a team with a low rank win this world cup. It's not certain it'll happen, but there's always a chance. How do you back that up with evidence? You don't. You state an opinion that's based purely on personal preference, matches you've seen in the past, etc, and then wait to see what happens
And naturally that's not relevant at all, is it? Having thrashed teams in the past does not automatically mean that you will again, but it also doesn't mean you won't. |
