bah! darn you and your n00b-confuzzling skills! James! I coulda won an argument for once in my life! You disappoint me. on past and even present evidence, Brazil should tear their group apart. Look at the way Ronaldinho marched to the Champion's League trophy. Blimmin' heck, even Dida was in with a chance, and he's the darn goalkeeper! A reasonable Brazilian goalie! What's the world coming to? ![]() Argentina are going to be tough, just depends on whether they slip up against a proper team... I'm stunned at the way the Czechs rolled over (Ghana played darn well, but against no opponents, anyone can )And the Merkans... well... rough tactics against the Italians? o_O Hey! They're learning!

One thing the Aussie side does have going against it is that they don't have much practice working together. Our players head off to where the money is (Europe  ) so not a lot of playing as a team = not a great degree of teamwork. Best example of teamwork would be the plays made by the Argentinian team against Serbia. Some of the goals scored, particularly the second one, were only possible because players were able to anticipate what their playmaker would do and act accordingly. Brazil does this well, Argentina's done it quite well recently and Australia does not

have a look at England's performance first half against Trinidad and second half against Paraguay. They looked like they'd only just met each other at kick-off and that teamwork was fine, if they could only be bothered to run. Ouch. But still, at least we won Hey, I'm English, we enjoy complaining
Australia has a playmaker? Well, the reason the big South Americans can do this is that pretty much the whole of their attacking contingent can be playmakers. Other teams still don't seem to have grasped this. I so wanted the US to be stuffed last night, but when I saw them playing above themselves, I changed sides (Fickle Brits) and the group's now wide open
One game I'm not looking forward to today is the France game. I can't stand any more excuses  |

I've been kinda following it. In a typical Silver way, I just check the scores later, and don't actually watch. |

I don't need to check the scores. My father's latino. He walks into my room every 30 minutes to give me an update on the score  On another note, I was right and you can check my previous post to confirm it. Australia got thrashed by Brazil, as I predicted And no one was surprised, either. On my way to uni this morning, I heard them say on the radio that "we only got beaten by 2 goals so the Brazillians must've had a nap halfway through". We Aussies are an optimistic bunch

only three times a game? you're lucky
The US were taken apart by the Czechs, but they played very well against Italy Oh, and look at that! France surrendered again! How very unlike them! Looked like they did everything they could to lose that game. And Zidane got booked, so it could be his very last international game. The Aussie lot did very very well against Brazil, and that scoreline was far too flattering.

Japan vs. Croatia, 0-0. Those Croatians can't shoot for nuts, and Oguro came in too late. |

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! England are through, and although they tried hard to throw the Sweden game, they're going through top of their group Owen's injured, so is Rooney, so all we have now is a kid no-one's ever heard of, and Peter Crouch. yaaaaay. <_< |

Argentina v Holland : biggest game of the tournament so far. Result: predictably dull goalless disappointment. Ivory Coast v Serbia and Montenegro : game with nowt riding on it. Result: 9 yellow cards, five goals, two penalties, two red cards and one seemingly racist incident.

Yeah, but that involved hurting people. We're good at that. This is about prancing around with a ball and if you even give a player a dirty look they'll take a dive and start crying like they've got their nuts in a vice. Seriously, that sort of behaviour deserves a beating of epic proportions. But if we were to do it, we would be the ones at fault. It's a messed up world  |
