Any of you from back in the day with MicrosoftXP would remember the disappearing hero bug. You would die and not be able to revive your hero. It was just gone. Instead of finding what caused the problem, he just changed the system to use gamecache. As you know, this had side effects, mostly being on pumped heros that would lose their attack rate when they revived. I changed the system back to the normal revive method in version 3.7, but decided to run some tests recently to discover that the old disappearing bug could still happen. I found the problem though and I am working on a better solution to the problem for the next version "A good idea from Sadism". Until then, I want you to know what causes it so you can try to avoid it. It's not likely to happen often since you would need to have more than 6 heroes. Blizzard has a limitation to 7 dead heroes per player. If you have 8 or more and get them all killed, only 7 are gonna come back. This will also affect the arena at the end since all heroes are killed when you lose. This is also what could be causing the crash. Thanks for your patience. I'll get it resolved asap. |

Just want to point out that XP did figure out what was causing the problem, which is why he changed the system. At the time I had been (and still am) working with gamecache extensively, so he came to me for advice as he was considering using it. However, even though I told him not to use gamecache for storing heroes and suggested an alternative method (which is the one Awake is going to implement), XP still went with the gamecache one. Neither of us knew what issues might arise at the time, but it's what he went with, and did fix the disappearing heroes I believe. But that's beside the point, because it still wasn't the best option due to unforeseen complications that sprouted up ;-) |

Well it's coming along. The revival system works fine although you will have to implement -up -down -order again to get your hero portrait orders back since it changes them around again. It's still going to take me some time to get it working with the arena at the end. With my schedule the way it is, expect about 2 to 3 weeks. |
