Item dropping: often it's my second hero (don't know what that means), but many times while playing, one hero (and it's only the one for the duration of the game) will lose all of its items, and this will happen periodically during a given game. traveling merchant pling: doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the pling: where it used to pling on the merchant's location in base, it now plings randomly on the map (only play as knights so i can't comment on other bases) special rules text: the display needs changing. At the moment it lists downward from about the middle of the screen but the list is so long it has to write over the "control panel" portion of the UI and it's very dificult to read. Champion pathing to corner heroes: especially in regards to arthas, the champs tend to want to go to the catty-cornered heroes rather than following a straight diagonal. perhaps additional spacing would help. Orc secondary racial bonus: last game i played, i randomed grom, got the 4 standard orc heroes, then got both of tinker and beast master but the shop never appeared and i got no new units or magic resistance. I know you don't know me, so i don't want to seem presumptuous but i also have a couple balance suggestions. take them as you see fit: Agility: Because of the lack of meaningful attack speed items, agility heroes have a massive advantage in combat over other heroes without disables. (this only really applies to "fun mode" games where the hero number is restricted, but more attack speed would be helpful in all situations.) Terrain: the size of the map and most of the terrain is already set and i realize the problem with this, but a more fluid terrain with more avenues for jumps and fleeing would make pushing and hero fights more interesting as the element of surprise is often crucial in getting that one kill before he escapes or heals. At the moment, movement from lane to lane is basically impossible without teleportation of some sort. |

Not sure what this might be. I do know that I had some other item bugs but I would like to know more about this. A replay would be great with a game-time it happened.
Random positions in the map are expected at times. The merchant flies from town to town at random. If you run the command while he is in between towns, you will get pings like this.
I realised this problem depending on certain video card settings, so I've changed the whole system. Next version is going to a dialog system rather than - commands. It cycles through every rule with a dialog box if you choose yes to set custom rules. It looks much better in my opinion and is easier to understand.
Next version is tavern style hero selection so this won't be an issue.
I never included the new heros into the bonus racials and am not sure if I want to still. 2nd tier bonus needs to be 5 heros. The four standard ladder orc heros and then tinker or beastmaster. Once you got Axe, your only choose would have been to repick him and choose one of the other 2. This was mostly never addressed because some heros are more just there for the support of other heros since it is a multi-hero map. I'm working on a way to balance it out more for the new map since I want to make it solo hero friendly, but I'm not so sure it can be done without changing the gameplay and spells completely. Terrain change is a good idea and I will hopefully have time to do this for the new map. I will be needing beta testers very soon for the new map. I'd like to have you help out if you will check back the forums every couple of days to see when it's ready. |

couple responses: Item dropping: it doesn't always happen and it doesn't always happen to my heroes when it happens in game, but next time I play and it happens, i'll try to remember to save the replay. traveling merchant pling: I haven't been using the command to pling his location. the pling i was refering to is the one that notifies you when he gets to your base, and that one is completely random (even sometimes plings on the little square with the revival area) racials and secondary racials: for those of us who like to random, especially playing pubs where very few people if any have played before, it'd be nice if the racials activated no matter what the order in which you acquired the heroes was. Emphasizing and explaining the use of multiple heroes more than the tips already do would be a good idea and a good way to teach the map to new players. Perhaps bold lettering at the beginning displayed to everyone that states something to the effect of "This map is designed with the use of multiple heroes in mind. You may purchase your first additional hero for 'price' at location 'pling'." |

Please do because this is the first I have ever heard of a bug like this. I kind of suspect you might be seeing something else that really isn't a bug, but I would like to know for sure. ----------------------------------------------------

Racials do work in any order. It's the 2nd tier bonus that is where the trouble lies. You can get it in any order, but you can not have any other heros than your race specific at the time. There won't be any other option anyway since you are maxed at 5 heros (unless you are using custom rules to do 8) -------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the suggestion about text at map startup. I will consider something to that effect. |

I believe that I found the item bug and I for sure found the traveling merchant bug. The new map is still a ways from being complete so I'll get version 1.06c out tomorrow to fix the bugs. Thanks again for the report. |
