'Saturday at last' sarah thought as she woke up. She looked around her beige colored room. She climbed out of bed and threw back the shades it was raining. 'Oh, darn, why did it have to be rainy on a saturday?' she thought. "Oh well, I guess this means picking up my room and listening to parents argue."she said a loud to herself. She went and made her bed and picked up her dirty clothes and put them in the hamper. She picked up her books as well and put them on the shelves. Once she finished she went and took a shower. About forty-five minutes later she came back in wearing a light blue tank top and blue jeans along with her new sneakers. The phone rang. She went to her night stand and picked up "Hello," she said. The person on the other line said "Hi, is Sarah there?" Sarah smiled "This is her Micheal." he replied "Oh good, What are you up to today?" She replied "I figure nothing except listening to my parents argue." He said "Wow, sounds like fun. I got tickets to go to a movie in about 20 minutes...you want to come?" She replied in a happy voice "Yeah, thats sounds great." He replied "OK I'll pick you up in a few bye." She said "Ok, Bye" She hung up the phone and grabbed her dark blue jacket. She ran downstairs when she got there it wasn't what she expected her parents were laying on the ground apparently dead. She grabbed the phone and dialed '911' The operator came on "Yes, Is there a problem?" Sarah was at a loss for words, the only thing she could say was "my parents." The operator says "What about your parnets?" The doorbell rang Sarah opened it and handed Micheal the phone. He said "Hello." THe operator says "If this is a prank call you will get in trouble." Micheal looked at sarah confused she dragged him into the room where her parents were. He nodded and explained everything to the operator and she replied "Someone will be right over." Micheal hung up the phone and grabbed Sarah and pulled her outside so she wouldn't be just looking at them and he thought that the killer might still be in the house. |

Sarah sat in Michaels lap crying. He was trying to comfort her but he didn't know really what to do except hold her. The police and ambulance (sp) arrived shortly after the phone conversation. Michael led them inside. He wasn't going to let Sarah inside unless it was needed by the cops. The police started to question Sarah and she told them all she did this morning. Then they questioned Michael and he told them that he had only just come over to pick her to go the movies when she handed me the phone. The police didn't find the killer but found one of the weapons used. They said that Sarah would have to go with them for now until the culprit was caught. Michael said "Am I allowed to see her though." They replied "yes" As they started to get things to go they grabbed Sarah and started to pull her away from Michael. She started to scream "No....don't let them take me." Michael said "They going to keep you safe Sarah." "But I don't want you to leave me." she said. Michael asked "Is it ok if I go with you now?" They nodded getting annoyed with the fact that the girl didn't want to cooperate. Michael said "She can ride in my car and we will follow." The cops looked at one another with a look of doubt and concern finally they said "Ok...fine...but you better follow us." Michael nodded and led Sarah to his car. They started to follow. Michael knew where the police station was so he wasn't worried about losing them. As they drove they started to go in a different direction. Michael didn't like that too much but he kept following until they left the county line and then he stopped and turned around. Sarah said "Go get my car from the garage and we can drive that in case they come looking for us." |

(This might make you cry) Michael said "Ok, but I don't see why they were going to have us leave the county. I mean we have a police station here." They stopped at the garage and picked up Sarah's car then headed back to her house. They were surprised to see an ambulance and a few police cars outside. Sarah got out "Who are you...someone was just here." They told Sarah that no one else could have been here besides the bodies were still inside. Sarah said "But someone else was just here and they tried to take us out of the county." The police looked puzzled and said "Miss, it’s a good thing that you didn't follow them but now you should leave they might come back...and make sure you have a different car." Sarah said "We just picked up my car and we will go somewhere...just so you know the people that were her first were in unmarked cars." The cops then took down some information as to where Sarah was going to be and they showed her identification so she knew who they were of course. Sarah got back in her car and said "We are going to your house for a while." He nodded his head "ok" She drove over to his house they got out and ran into his house. Michael led Sarah to his room so they could watch movies, talk, watch TV, or listening to music then his mom yelled up the stairs "Door Open" He yelled back "Ok, mom" Sarah giggled. He tackled her on his bed and gave her a kiss. "Now what do you want to so?" he asked. Sarah thought "Lets just lay here...I have a lot on my mind and I am still really upset about everything...I can't believe my parents are dead." As she said that tears started to come down her face and Michael pulled her close to him. She started thinking about how they wouldn't be around to see her graduate, or her dad wouldn't be able to walk her down the isle on her wedding day, or they wouldn't get to see her children. She started to cry even more. Michael did all he could to comfort her. Finally she fell asleep. Michael moved without waking her and went downstairs to talk to him mom about what had happened. |

Once downstairs he started talking to his mom. He went through everything that had happened that day and his mom said that Sarah could stay with them for a while. Because she knew Michael and Sarah had been dating for 6 years she thought it might be a little easier for her. About 5 o'clock Sarah woke up and went downstairs to see where everyone was. Michael, his dad, and John his little brother were watching TV and their mom was cooking dinner. Michael saw Sarah "Hey, How are you feeling?" She said "I feel like crap." He got up and hugged her. His mom called from the kitchen "Sarah, dear would you like to help me cook dinner?" Sarah said "Yeah sure." She went into the kitchen. His mom said "You can make the dessert if you want." "Ok" she said. She got out some ingredients to make a pie crust. She was going to make a chocolate pie with a whipped topping. She finished the pie crust and started with the filling. Then made the whipped topping. She put the crust in the oven for a little bit until it was a light brown. She put the filling in and the whipped topping and put it back in the oven for about 2 minutes then pulled it out and stuck it in the fridge. She then started to set the table and Michael got up to help which Sarah got a little annoyed but didn't say anything. They all sat down to eat. They had a wonderful meal of ham, mashed potatoes, corn, homemade Mac & cheese and biscuits. Then came dessert it was amazing. After dinner the men cleaned off the table and did the dishes. Sarah went into the living room and sat down and asked Michael’s mom where she was going for the night and what she was going to wear. His mom explained that she could stay with them and borrow some of her clothes until the police came back so she could get her clothes. Sarah nodded as Michael came in and sat down next to her. Michael’s mom told him he was sleeping downstairs on the couch for the night. He said "OK" |

His parents went to bed. Sarah, Michael and John sat up watching movies about happy stuff so Sarah wouldn't cry anymore. Sarah fell asleep in Michaels lap but John and Michael kept watching movies they wanted to make sure Sarah was asleep before they moved her. 6 o'clock rolled around and the boys were still up watching movies when their dad came downstairs to get ready for work. "Shouldn't you be in bed?" The boys said "Well we are watching this movie." Their dad shook his head then saw Sarah "Poor girl had to listen to you 2 all night." The boys laughed "She’s been asleep since 11 so there dad." Their dad went about getting ready for work. Sarah rolled over and almost fell of the couch but Michael grabbed her. "Oh dear, I hope she doesn't wake up." Michael said Lucky for him Sarah didn't. John said "Lets go get breakfast" Michael just nodded and moved Sarah farther on to the couch so she wouldn't fall off. Michael and his brother went to get breakfast. Sarah woke up a few minutes and looked around she forgot where she was at first and then it all started to click in. The phone rang Michael came into the living room and answered it. "Hello." he said. "Umm...may I ask who is calling?" "Ok...hold on." He turned to Sarah "It’s for you. It is the police officer you talked to yesterday." Sarah nodded and took the phone. "Hello" she said sleepily. "I am sorry did I wake you?" the officer said. "No, did you need something?" she asked and then he replied "Yes, Today we want you to come down to the station with your boyfriend and describe the men you saw and what happened at your house yesterday." Sarah gulped hard "OK" The officer said "We will see you this afternoon then." Sarah said "yeah" he said "Ok good bye" "Bye" she hung up the phone and started to think about yesterday she was about to cry. Michael sat down next to her and hugged her "Its going to be ok...I promise." |

Well time went by really fast. Michael drove Sarah's car to her house. They both got out and made sure that these were the real cops. Then Sarah was told she could go up to her room and get some things. So Michael went up with her for support. She grabbed a suitcase from the hall closet and took it to her room. She entered her room and it had been destroyed. Everything was thrown on the floor like someone was looking for something. Michael started picking up her clothes and folding them and putting them in her suitcase, while she left the room to look in her parent’s bed room where she screamed. Michael came running as did the police. Someone had written in blood 'We will get you Sarah...' The Police decided to another check of the house because that wasn't there when they first checked the house. So they checked Sarah's room first so they could lock her and Michael in there. No one was in there so they locked the door and put a police man outside it. Michael kept packing, Sarah went to go look out the window when there was a gun shot. It came through the window; it missed both Sarah and Michael. Michael grabbed Sarah and threw her on the floor and as he did the police man came in. "What happened?" he said. Michael said "Someone fired at us." |

The officer went towards the window slowly and looked out and he didn't see anyone and he turned to Michael and Sarah and said "Get what you need now because we are leaving in 2 minutes." Sarah nodded and finally helped Michael pack up her clothes. Sarah was scared to death; she didn't want to be left alone so she stuck close to Michael and wouldn't let him out of her sight. Michael did the same he was afraid for Sarah, he didn't want anything to happen to her he loved her. Once they finished they were told to get into the police car because they were going to question Sarah. Sarah clinged to Michael and wouldn't let him go. When they got to the police station they wanted to take Sarah into a room and question her but she didn't want to leave Michael. She begged and pleaded for them to let Michael go with her but they wouldn't. Michael pulled her aside and said "Sarah, I am staying here go and talk with them, I promise I won't leave and when they are done I will be sitting right here waiting for you." She looked uneasy about the whole thing. He whispered in her ear "I love you." She looked at him and couldn't say anything she was in awe of what he had said. He gave her a slight push towards the room and went and sat down where he said he was going to. Sarah looked at him one last time before going into the room. The police started to question her she felt like they thought it was her doing. They went back and forth trying to figure things out. She sat there for a moment and then said "Wait...” they stopped and looked at her.”I think I have an idea who’s behind it." She told them and right away one of the men left the room to go start looking up all the information on the person. The other one said that she needed to stay a little longer and this time she said "can Michael come in and sit with me please?" The officer nodded and went and brought Michael in the room. |

Michael came in and sat down next to Sarah. Sarah relaxed a little but not a whole lot. Michael wasn't sure what they had said and didn't want to press Sarah into telling him anything. Suddenly one of the officers came in and said "We found him right outside the county or at least that is where he was last spotted." Sarah looked as pale as a ghost. 'Why is this happening now...he didn't want anything to do with me before...what’s so wrong now.' she thought to herself as everyone was running around getting things ready to get him. Sarah was worried about someone getting hurt because she knew that he wasn't afraid of killing for what he wants then a thought came to her 'if he wanted me dead why didn't he just kill me when he killed my parents.' She put her head on Michael’s shoulder |

Michael looked surprised and was about to ask Sarah a question when the officer pulled Sarah to his desk and showed her a picture of the person and said "Is that him?" Sarah nodded while tears welled up on her eyes. The officer led her back to Michael and said "The two of you will have to stay here for a little while get things finished." They both nodded and then the officer closed the door. Michael turned to Sarah who now was crying "What’s wrong?" She looked at him and was about to explain but she couldn't manage to get any words out of her mouth. Michael understood that this wasn't the time to ask questions and pulled her close to him. An officer walked in the room and said that the two of them could go back to Michael’s house and it would be watched by unmarked cars. Michael brought Sarah out to her car and he opened the door and set her down. Michael was worried about her she hadn't said anything for a couple of hours when she stopped crying she just sat there and stared into space. He got in the car and drove off towards his house. Once they got there he got Sarah out and grabbed her suitcase and led her inside where he then set her on the couch. He took her suitcase upstairs and was only gone for two minutes, as he was going back down the stairs he heard the front door open and close he ran and saw that Sarah had left. He ran to the door and started to run after her. |

Micheal yelled after her. "Sarah, Stop!" Sarah ignored him and kept running. Micheal after being on the track and football team couldn't keep up with his girlfriend made him seem weak. He pushed everything out of his mind and started to run faster. Just then he heard gun shots. He couldn't see Sarah anymore. He started to panic. He had no idea what to expect. What happened next was the worst thing ever; Micheal got up to where he heard the gun shots and saw Sarah and a man laying on the ground. He moved closer to them and saw that neither was moving and he heard another gun shot, and he dove to the ground. He waited for a few minutes and then rolled over to Sarah and touched her. She was breathing. She rolled over to face him "I am sorry" she said in tears. He pulled her to him and the man next to them moved. Micheal jumped up and pulled Sarah away from him. Micheal saw that the man had a gun and before he could grab it Sarah grabbed it. Sarah grabbed Micheal's hand and made him follow her back to his house. |

As she closed the door she asked Micheal if they could go up to his room to talk. He nodded and they walked up the stairs. Sarah sat on his bed and motioned for him to sit next to her. As he did, he took the gun away from her. "Whats going on? and who were those men outside?" he asked quickly Sarah started to tear up...."This is going to really hard to explain." she said trying to hold back the tears. Micheal pulled her close "Whatever it is you can tell me." he said in a sincere voice. Sarah said "Ok, here it goes. The man you knew as my dad isn't my dad...my parents got divorced when I was 3 and I didn't want anyone to know because my real dad had been in and out of jail and then last year when I was able to decide who I wanted to stay with my dad got mad because I chose my mom over him. Well now he is after me...he already got my parents. The men outside were friends of his helping him out." Micheal had a look of concern on his face "who was the man laying next to you?" he asked slowly Sarah brust into tears "That is the part I can't tell you...at least not now." |

Micheal moves her so he can look into her eyes. "Why can't you tell me?" he asked. She looked at him with fear in her eyes and said "Because I am afraid I will lose you and I don't want to lose you I love you." He looked shocked and finally said "You would never lose me" Sarah started to cry more "You will leave me, if my dad gets me." Micheal jumped up and said "What do you mean by that?" Sarah looked up at him and said "Please sit down I will try and explain everything...I just don't want to lose you or have you mad at me right now." |

Micheal sat down once again and Sarah took a deep breathe "Ok, what I am going to tell you is...well...it just isn't easy to say." She took another deep breathe and tried to hold back tears when he said "Whatever it is I promise I won't get mad and I won't leave you." Sarah looked at him and then began "Ok, well the guy next to me is...well...my dad was doing certain things for some people and then he took money from them, but he took more then he was supposed to and now he is in debt with these guys, well they found out about me and said that my dad was to get me to marry that guy that was next to me...if I don't marry him they will kill me or my dad for not making it happen." She stopped and looked at the floor. Micheal thought for a moment and then said "Well then it looks like we have to keep you safe and hide you from them." Sarah looked up at him "Your not upset or anything??" Micheal shook his head and pulled her close. |
