The rules are simple: You pick two people to vote for, and the 2 who receive the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2060 Nominations ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ryan Laird 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2051/players/player45.htm Career stats: 28380 points (40th), 11814 assists (14th), 2573 steals (32nd), 10922 FGs (37th), 2573 3s (32nd), 591 double doubles (51st), 3291 turnovers (23rd) The case for Ryan Laird: A very protective PG during his career, with 15 seasons of 20+ PPG and 13 seasons with 9+ APG. Was a very good 3pt shooter for his career (40%). He was productive until his retirement, making the finals his final year as a starting PG for the Wizards. He was adept at getting steals and playing good defense. The case against Ryan Laird: Struggled with turnovers earlier in his career. Was somewhat a liability as a rebounder. Never won a title and struggled early on at making the playoffs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keith Koch 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2044/players/player448.htm Career stats: 14009 rebounds (24th), 4424 blocks (5th) The case for Keith Koch: He was one of the biggest impact defenders EBL has ever seen. Over the 2nd half of his career, he made his teams defense so good that they could become title contenders just based off that. Underrated rebounder and passer. Capable of being an OK scorer at times. 2 time champion along with numerous defensive accolades. The case against Keith Koch: The first 7-8 seasons of his career were basically a wash out. Because of that, didn't have great longevity as an elite player in EBL. Generally a poor offensive player year in and out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ John Cudney 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2057/players/player314.htm Career stats: 30847 points (26th), 2520 steals (34th), 11670 FGs (25th), 3270 3s (6th) The case for John Cudney: One of the most prolific shooters in EBL history. A 3 time champion, he excelled for much of his career on winning teams. Began his career with 16 straight seasons of 20+ PPG. He was a good rebounder and handler for a SF/SG, never hurting his team in either regard. Was a good to great defender much of his career. Terrific 3pt shooting % (42). Early in his career, was an elite #2 to Tulio in New Jersey, then continued to succeed with the Wizards late in his career. The case against John Cudney: Had some inconsistent seasons in between the Nets-Wizards years. Was never able to lead a team as the #1 guy to success. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kang Chen http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2046/players/player546.htm Career stats: 13435 rebounds (33rd), 765 double doubles (17th) The case for Kang Chen: One of the most consistent big men of his generation. Was one of the best players on a title team (2035 Rockets), something a lot of big men can't say. Averaged a double double all 15 seasons of his career. Wasn't an elite shot blocker, but averaged almost 2 per game over his career still. Great efficiency from the field (46% career). The case against Kang Chen: Doesn't have many numbers you'd expect from a HOF'er. Was often a poor defender, especially in the second half of his career. Had no outside or handling game to speak of. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rafael Belcher http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2059/players/player114.htm Career stats: 30040 points (30th), 13140 assists (7th), 3065 steals (8th), 11490 FGs (30th), 4429 FTs (70th), 2631 3s (27th), 777 double doubles (12th), 57 triple doubles (9th), 3101 turnovers (31st) The case for Rafael Belcher: Had a long and productive career featuring 16 seasons of 20+ PPG and 13 seasons of 10+ APG. Was often one of the best defensive PGs in the league during his career. Very productive 3pt shooter (41% career). Averaged over 23 PPG and 10 APG throughout his career. Was good from beginning to end, covering 17 seasons. 13 time all star at a very crowded position. Was often overshadowed by Frisby and Carpenter but wasn't much below them in terms of production. The case against Rafael Belcher: Never won a title. Could sometimes have an issue with turnovers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lou Hodson http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2059/players/player607.htm Career stats: 15634 rebounds (9th), 4349 blocks (9th) The case for Lou Hodson: One of the best defensive players and anchors at his position during his time in EBL. A 4 time EBL champion, tied for 3rd most all time. Dominant shot blocker and very good to great rebounder for much of his career. Was always on winning teams and usually always on great defensive teams. The case against Lou Hodson: Was a minuscule offensive player, but didn't hurt his team with bad shooting (career 41%). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Rafael Belcher: 16 Keith Koch: 10 Lou Hodson: 9 John Cudney: 3 Ryan Laird: 3 Kang Chen: 1 Edited by Mofoticon, Mar 25 2017, 10:59 AM.
