The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2061 Nominations John Cudney 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2057/players/player314.htm Career stats: 30847 points (26th), 2520 steals (34th), 11670 FGs (25th), 3270 3s (7th) The case for John Cudney: One of the most prolific shooters in EBL history. A 3 time champion, he excelled for much of his career on winning teams. Began his career with 16 straight seasons of 20+ PPG. He was a good rebounder and handler for a SF/SG, never hurting his team in either regard. Was a good to great defender much of his career. Terrific 3pt shooting % (42). Early in his career, was an elite #2 to Tulio in New Jersey, then continued to succeed with the Wizards late in his career. The case against John Cudney: Had some inconsistent seasons in between the Nets-Wizards years. Was never able to lead a team as the #1 guy to success. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kang Chen 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2046/players/player546.htm Career stats: 13435 rebounds (34th), 765 double doubles (17th) The case for Kang Chen: One of the most consistent big men of his generation. Was one of the best players on a title team (2035 Rockets), something a lot of big men can't say. Averaged a double double all 15 seasons of his career. Wasn't an elite shot blocker, but averaged almost 2 per game over his career still. Great efficiency from the field (46% career). The case against Kang Chen: Doesn't have many numbers you'd expect from a HOF'er. Was often a poor defender, especially in the second half of his career. Had no outside or handling game to speak of. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lou Hodson 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2059/players/player607.htm Career stats: 15634 rebounds (9th), 4349 blocks (10th) The case for Lou Hodson: One of the best defensive players and anchors at his position during his time in EBL. A 4 time EBL champion, tied for 3rd most all time. Dominant shot blocker and very good to great rebounder for much of his career. Was always on winning teams and usually always on great defensive teams. The case against Lou Hodson: Was a minuscule offensive player, but didn't hurt his team with bad shooting (career 41%). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don Carpenter http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2060/players/player190.htm Career stats: 1476 games (12th), 36063 points (6th), 14976 (2nd), 2994 steals (11th), 13622 FGs (7th), 5483 FTs (23rd), 3336 3s (6th), 862 double doubles (6th), 88 triple doubles (2nd) The case for Don Carpenter: Unquestionably one of the best PGs and players in EBL history. 6 time EBL MVP, a record. Won 5 straight MVPs from 2047-2051. He was consistently in the top 5 in both PPG and APG for much of his career. There was nothing he couldn't do at a high level. Was the best triple double player in history not named Scott Duncan. Elite shooter (.476 career, .442 from 3). Never had much of a problem with turnovers, averaging only 2 during his career. Elite defender at the PG spot. One of the most dominant players EBL has ever seen. The case against Don Carpenter: Probably should've won more titles than he did as he had some playoff failures. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Charles Wilson http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2060/players/player226.htm Career stats: 34555 points (11th), 7035 assists (70th), 3139 steals (7th), 12917 FGs (11th), 5193 FTs (33rd), 3528 3s (4th) The case for Charles Wilson: One of the most successful winners in EBL history (5 titles). One of the best scorers in EBL history. Very few if anyone was a better 3pt shooter during most of his career. Great passer at the SG spot, even capable of being a good PG. Adept at getting steals at a high level. Won 5 of the last 10 EBL titles before his retirement. Was a great player from day 1 until the very end, showing no signs of decline even in year 17. The case against Charles Wilson: Was never much of a defensive player despite the high steal totals. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arthur Anderson http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2060/players/player445.htm Career stats: 13665 rebounds (29th), 4538 blocks (4th), 5214 FTs (29th), 707 double doubles (28th) The case for Arthur Anderson: One of the best defensive players of his generation and one of the best shot blockers EBL has ever seen. Was a defensive anchor for the consistently great Mavs defensive teams the 2nd half of his career. More than held his own as a scorer, even putting up a couple 20 PPG seasons early in his career. Became a more efficient and less shooting scorer in the 2nd half but still made an impact on that end of the ball. Was capable of hitting 3s, though never excelled at it. The case against Arthur Anderson: Was never a great rebounder, though it was never a weakness either. Really struggled with offensive efficiency at various points in his career. Non existent as a passer and for as much as he got to the FT line, didn't shoot well enough (under 70%). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Don Carpenter: 13 Charles Wilson: 3 Lou Hodson: 1 Arthur Anderson: 1 John Cudney: 0 Kang Chen: 0 Edited by Mofoticon, May 16 2017, 02:13 PM.
