The rules are simple: You pick two people to vote for, and the 2 who receive the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2067 Nominations Louis Rogers 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2046/players/player161.htm Career stats: 26774 points (60th), 12625 assists (11th), 2739 steals (23rd), 10217 FGs (58th), 2529 3s (40th), 671 double doubles (34th) The case for Louis Rogers: A former 2 time EBL MVP. Made 3 all EBL 1st teams at the most crowded position in the league. Was at one time one of the best players in EBL on the offensive side of the ball. He had 6 seasons with at least 20 PPG and 10 APG. Surprisingly adept at getting steals, averaging 2.1 per game in his career. Efficient shooter, with career lines of .463/.867/.419. The case against Louis Rogers: Was often a terrible defender for the majority of his career, holding him back from reaching his full potential as a player. Didn't have much success in the playoffs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Christien Soucy 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2055/players/player566.htm Career stats: 13508 rebounds (39th), 3673 blocks (29th), 558 double doubles (80th) The case for Christien Soucy: He was one of the better defensive players in EBL for the majority of his career. An 8 time all star, he also won 2 defensive player of the year awards and led many great teams to the top of the league in defense. He was also a 2 time champion, and was on numerous other contenders throughout the years. A prolific rebounder, he never averaged lower than 11 in a season during his entire 14 year career. The case against Christien Soucy. He wasn't a liability on offense, but he was never any good at it, either. Terrible FT shooter helped contribute to his low career PPG (11.3). Didn't have great longevity, but he did make an impact from year 1 to year 14, something big men often don't do in EBL. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arthur Anderson 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2060/players/player445.htm Career stats: 13665 rebounds (33rd), 4538 blocks (5th), 5214 FTs (35th), 707 double doubles (30th) The case for Arthur Anderson: One of the best defensive players of his generation and one of the best shot blockers EBL has ever seen. Was a defensive anchor for the consistently great Mavs defensive teams the 2nd half of his career. More than held his own as a scorer, even putting up a couple 20 PPG seasons early in his career. Became a more efficient and less shooting scorer in the 2nd half but still made an impact on that end of the ball. Was capable of hitting 3s, though never excelled at it. The case against Arthur Anderson: Was never a great rebounder, though it was never a weakness either. Really struggled with offensive efficiency at various points in his career. Non existent as a passer and for as much as he got to the FT line, didn't shoot well enough (under 70%). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tyree Robinson 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2032/players/player236.htm Career stats: 31068 points (26th), 11641 FGs (28th), 2754 3s (24th) The case for Tyree Robinson: One of the best and most consistent scorers in EBL history. Fourteen straight seasons of at least 22.8 PPG. A very efficient scorer. A solid rebounder at SG. The case against Tyree Robinson: Was very much a one dimensional player. A below average to poor defender much of his career. Not a good ball handler for a guard. Rarely won anything without Kenneth Marshall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Greg Cabrera 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2057/players/player221.htm Career stats: 29064 points (41st), 2371 steals (t-54th), 10978 FGs (40th), 4658 FTs (68th), 2450 3s (46th) The case for Greg Cabrera: One of the most consistent scorers in the league for the first 15 seasons of his career, never scoring under 20.7 PPG and putting up 5 seasons over 25 PPG. Was often a great all around player, putting up almost 7 RPG and 4 APG during this time. A great defensive guard for much of his career. Not a great 3pt shooter, but still nearly 40% for his career. Produced everywhere he went during his 20 year EBL career. Was a big part of the championship 2047 and 2049 Magic team, starting and averaging over 23 PPG both years. The case against Greg Cabrera: He wasn't flashy and didn't stand out in a league full of scoring due to it. Became most known for his terrible contract in the final 5-6 seasons of his career, diluting his worth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paul Hanson 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2063/players/player448.htm Career stats: 18398 rebounds (3rd), 2720 blocks (72nd), 921 double doubles (3rd) The case for Paul Hanson: One of the best rebounders EBL has ever had. Had the second best rebounding season ever (14.7 per game in 2054). A 9 time all star, he was a very accomplished big man in the league. Was capable of being a very good scorer, averaging 15 per game throughout his career with multiple seasons of 18+ PPG. Not a great shot blocker but an effective one. Pretty much a nightly double double from him was guaranteed. The case against Paul Hanson: Besides rebounding, could be wildly inconsistent year to year in what he gave you. Never a great defender, and sometimes struggled in that regard. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Louis Rogers: 11 Paul Hanson: 7 Arthur Anderson 4 Greg Cabrera: 3 Tyree Robinson: 3 Christien Soucy: 2 Edited by Mofoticon, Feb 28 2018, 05:06 PM.
