The rules are simple: You pick one person to vote for, and the 1 who receives the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. And please no "these HOF nominees are weak or terrible" posts/comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2069 Nominations Greg Cabrera 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2057/players/player221.htm Career stats: 29064 points (41st), 2371 steals (t-58th), 10978 FGs (41st), 4658 FTs (70th), 2450 3s (50th) The case for Greg Cabrera: One of the most consistent scorers in the league for the first 15 seasons of his career, never scoring under 20.7 PPG and putting up 5 seasons over 25 PPG. Was often a great all around player, putting up almost 7 RPG and 4 APG during this time. A great defensive guard for much of his career. Not a great 3pt shooter, but still nearly 40% for his career. Produced everywhere he went during his 20 year EBL career. Was a big part of the championship 2047 and 2049 Magic team, starting and averaging over 23 PPG both years. The case against Greg Cabrera: He wasn't flashy and didn't stand out in a league full of scoring due to it. Became most known for his terrible contract in the final 5-6 seasons of his career, diluting his worth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kang Chen 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2046/players/player546.htm Career stats: 13435 rebounds (47th), 765 double doubles (20th) The case for Kang Chen: One of the most consistent big men of his generation. Was one of the best players on a title team (2035 Rockets), something a lot of big men can't say. Averaged a double double all 15 seasons of his career. Wasn't an elite shot blocker, but averaged almost 2 per game over his career still. Great efficiency from the field (46% career). The case against Kang Chen: Doesn't have many numbers you'd expect from a HOF'er. Was often a poor defender, especially in the second half of his career. Had no outside or handling game to speak of. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bryan Freeman 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2037/players/player626.htm Career stats: 12482 rebounds (69th), 3216 blocks (t-48th), 649 double doubles (43rd) The case for Bryan Freeman: Was among the best centers in EBL during his prime. Was a high level starter for at least 8 seasons (no worse than 17/11 from 2024-2031). Very consistent player. Won a title in 2028 with the Mavs as one of their best players. Very good defender much of his career. Underrated FT shooter. The case against Bryan Freeman: Was a good, not great scorer most of his career. Could be argued he was good at a lot of things (scoring, rebounding, blocking), but not great at anything. Non existent passer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Barry Ledesma http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2051/players/player359.htm Career stats: 30384 points (33rd), 2084 steals (84th), 11511 FGs (33rd), 4680 FTs (69th), 2682 3s (27th) The case for Barry Ledesma: One of the most underrated scorers in EBL history. Had a dozen straight 20+ PPG seasons on contending teams from 2036 to 2048. A consistently great shooter at everything but FTs. Had the ability to be a great rebounder at either the SG or SF spot. Was a good to great defender most of his career. Never had an issue with turnovers. 6 time all star. The case against Barry Ledesma: Was unable to lead a team to a title as a top guy. As mentioned before, was a bad FT shooter for being so talented. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jarred Yount http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2068/players/player156.htm Career stats: 33818 points (14th), 12321 assists (15th), 1999 steals (98th), 13042 FGs (11th), 4567 FTs (73rd), 3167 3s (12th), 638 double doubles (48th), 24 triple doubles (t-47th), 2606 turnovers (85th) The case for Jarred Yount: One of the most successful players in EBL history, winning 4 titles in a 5 year span. A 3 time regular season MVP and 4 time playoff MVP, he goes down as one of the best PGs in EBL history. Was a wildly successful scorer during his time in EBL, getting over 33k points in 18 seasons. Formed one of the best two man duos in history with Brandon McCracken. A 6 time all star, he was arguably the best player in the league (unquestionably PG) for a majority of his prime. The case against Jarred Yount: Was never a great defender. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Larry Lindsay http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2068/players/player515.htm Career stats: 1497 games (13th), 16953 rebounds (5th), 4729 blocks (2nd), 5656 FTs (21st), 881 double doubles (6th) The case for Larry Lindsay: One of the most successful big men in EBL history. He was an elite defender/rebounder for much of his career, ranking in the top 5 all time in both. He was also a very good scorer, capable of putting up 16-20 PPG in any given year. Was very successful in terms of winning, getting 2 titles and making multiple more finals. One of only 3 players in history to play into his 40s, showing his durability. A 14 time all star and 2 time defensive player of the year, you will have a hard time finding a more decorated big man in EBL history. The case against Larry Lindsay: Wasn't an elite scorer. Played too long, somewhat diminishing his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally Jarred Yount: 10 Larry Lindsay: 5 Kang Chen: 2 Barry Ledesma: 1 Greg Cabrera: 1 Bryan Freeman: 1 Edited by Mofoticon, Jun 13 2018, 01:02 PM.

Jarred Yount Lindsay & Cabrera probably hung on a bit too long. Otherwise I probably would have voted for Cabrera. :( |
