2002-2003 Season Review
We had to overcome a lot of adversity this season. much more than you'd think for a team that went 68-14. Grant Hill suffered a horrible head injury early in the season, but we were able to get him back after the all-star break. The worse injury was the one Antoine Walker suffered. About 2 weeks before the end of the regular season, he suffered a broken leg. He's out 27 more days, and depending on how deep we go, there's a chance we might get him back. The biggest pleasant surprise of the year was that the league MVP played for us this year. One Dirk Nowitzki. We also had the Rookie of the Year in Yao Ming. As we head into the playoffs, we have some tough matches, but I think if we stick to what got us here, there's a chance I can go out on top one more time. |

We pretty much stormed through the playoffs. There was no stopping this team. the last four years have been unbelievable. while I was watching our boys celebrate in the locker room, I had such an overwhelming feeling that I should stay, but I knew I couldn't. I built a Juggernaut in a city where most people wouldn't have expected. I brought great talent together, made some dreams come true along the way, and won four rings. There's no challenge left in Vancouver any more. This team is too good. It's time to move on, find something else, and maybe build up another franchise the way I built this one. Time will tell. There's a great couple of guys coming out in the draft this year, and maybe I see if I can help one of them achieve some measure of success with their team like I did here. Time will tell. |
