Semi-Finals

Game 1: Grizzlies 102 - Clippers 100
Game 2: Clippers 98 - Grizzlies 84
Game 3: Clippers 100 - Grizzlies 88
Game 4: Grizzlies 96 - Clippers 83
Game 5: Clippers 88 - Grizzlies 78
Game 6: Clippers 84 - Grizzlies 74

A rough opening loss, but we rebounded and took 6 games to send yet another west coast opponent down. Marcus will miss almost the rest of the playoffs with a fractured cheek bone, but I think we can keep going thanks to our depth.

---

Semi-Finals

West
#1 LA Clippers def. #4 Vancouver Grizzlies 4-2
#3 Golden State Warriors def. #7 Utah Jazz 4-0

East
#5 Cleveland Cavaliers def. #1 Charlotte Hornets 4-3
#7 Orlando Magic def. #3 New Jersey Nets 4-1

---

#1 LA Clippers (54-28) vs. #3 Golden State Warriors (54-28)

Clippers Starting 5:
C - Ben Wallace
PF - Donyell Marshall
SF - Vince Carter
SG - Ron Artest
PG - Steve Francis

Key Subs: PF Antoine Walker, PG Tony Delk, PF Al Harrington

Warriors Starting 5:
C - Jelani McCoy
PF - Zach Randolph
SF - Andrei Kirilenko
SG - Jay McIlvaine
PG - Larry Hughes

Key Subs: PF Maurice Taylor, PG Steve Logan, C Zydrunas Ilgauskas

So it's a rematch with our old buddies in Oakland. I think this team is even better than last year. McCoy is a strong defensive presence, Zach & AK are as dangerous as ever and while Larry Hughes has some poor ball skills he can play D. It's hard to find holes outside of Jay McIlvaine, and Maurice Taylor could come back to haunt us in this series.

Western Conference Finals

Game 1: Clippers 99 - Warriors 80
Game 2: Clippers 94 - Warriors 91
Game 3: Clippers 90 - Warriors 82
Game 4: Warriors 87 - Clippers 84
Game 5: Clippers 106 - Warriors 73

Donyell suffered a bad back injury, later diagnosed as a bulging disc. In his place we jumped Al Harrington who had a great game 5 and will keep our confidence high as we try to defend our title.

#1 LA Clippers (54-28) vs. #7 Orlando Magic (41-41)

Clippers Starting 5:
C - Ben Wallace
PF - Al Harrington
SF - Vince Carter
SG - Ron Artest
PG - Steve Francis

Key Subs: PF Antoine Walker, PG Tony Delk, PF Rasheed Wallace

Magic Starting 5:
C - Chris Mihm
PF - Lawrence Funderbunk
SF - Michael Redd
SG - Lindsay Hunter
PG - Gilbert Arenas

Key Subs: SF Desmond Mason (Injury), PF Melvin Ely, C Brian Williams

It's back to the NBA finals as we face a team that has built well through the draft. Redd & Arenas have been brilliant additions while Lawrence Funderbunk has been great as a starter. Still I can't help but see weaknesses in this teams game. Chris Mihm stands out as a potential victim and their bench isn't anything to write home about. If we don't win this title, I will be disappointed in us.

NBA Finals

Game 1: Clippers 104 - Magic 100
Game 2: Clippers 87 - Magic 77
Game 3: Clippers 96 - Magic 92
Game 4: Magic 96 - Clippers 93
Game 5: Clippers 101 - Magic 83

We've done it. Back to back titles and in pretty impressive fashion I must add. Steve Francis won his 2nd consecutive playoff MVP and we can hang yet another banner up in the Staples Center rafters. I think what showed most was our depth. We lost both Marcus & Donyell and almost got better with the two out. Now we head to the off-season with a potential top 5 pick (Boston) a lottery (Milwaukee) and two more (Heat & ours) and with the depth of this class I think we can make this team even better.

An excellent start for us. LeBron James has already lived up to the hype putting up 22/6/6 in his first 13 games. Vince is also really stepped up with 25 PPG and we are just rolling people. The only downside is that Steve missed a few games, but I am really feeling good about this team, even if our D could use work.

So a slight decrease in wins, but we are still the best team in the league. Biggest news is some potential bench problems. Ron suffered a bad hamstring tear and will miss a month and a half. Luckily we have some guys to cover for him, but it's always a blow to lose one of our big three (Although you could up it to 4 with LeBron's current play).

We officially have problems. Our starting center Marcus Camby checked into a rehab facility for some personal problems. We have no idea when he will be back, but it could take up to 3 months if not more. I really hope he gets over his problems. We also lost Steve (1 week) but luckily we had a light schedule this month. We've given rookie Chris Bosh the starting PF duties, although I'm not sure if he's ready yet. The two losses to Golden State were not what we needed, but hopefully we come back recharged after the All-Star weekend.

Our best month since the first, and with Ron back we are getting our swagger back. We've really pulled away now and sit pretty comfortably atop the West. LeBron has really taken a lot of the socring load pressure off of Steve, VC & Ron who are putting up good numbers and winning more games than we did before. Bosh has filled in admirably for Marcus as well. I don't see him keeping the starting spot, but he's shown a lot of promise.

A big 7 game streak makes up for our poor start and we now have a stranglehold on the west. Despite losing Chris Bosh we managed to win every game (He got hurt late) with our 3rd choice PF Donyell Marshall. We are rolling, and I if we don't get any more injuries I have high hopes for this team. This is really a special group of talent.

Domination. We finished absolutely on fire and Camby came back more fired up than ever. This team looks untouchable and we are fully healthy heading into the post-season. We are clear favorites to win our 3rd straight title, and honestly I expect nothing less than that. I've created a monster here, and now it's time to unleash it on the post-season.

#1 LA Clippers (64-18) vs. #8 Dallas Mavericks (42-40)

LA Clippers Starting 5:
C - Ben Wallace
PF - Marcus Camby
SF - Vince Carter
SG - LeBron James
PG - Steve Francis

Key Bench Players: PF Chis Bosh, PF Donyell Marshall, SF Ron Artest

Dallas Mavericks Starting 5:
C - Michael Olowakandi
PF - Brian Cook
SF - Gerald Wallace
SG - Gordon Giricek
PG - Zarko Cabarkapa

Key Bench Players: PF Stromile Swift, SG Bobby Phillis, SG Erick Strickland

So Dallas relies on their emerging star at SF, Gerald Wallace. The weakness for this team is obvious though. The D of their Yugoslavian backcourt and Brian Cook is awful and LeBron & Steve should tear them apart. Even Marcus Camby could make Brian Cook look silly. They have some good glue guys off the bench, but I am confident we can deal with this team and move on. They just don't have enough weapons.

Quarter-Finals

Clippers 92 - Mavericks 82
Clippers 99 - Mavericks 75
Clippers 108 - Mavericks 87
Mavericks 84 - Clippers 78
Clippers 87 - Mavericks 82

Almost a clean sweep, but kudos for them fighting hard in the last two games. As I predicted our big men managed above average scoring against an overwhelmed Dallas front court and while Wallace did an admirable job against LeBron, he could stop him and Vince and we cruised to a comfortable win here.

---

Quarter-Finals

West
#1 LA Clippers def. #8 Dallas Mavericks 4-0
#4 Vancouver Grizzlies def. #5 Seattle SuperSonics 4-0
#2 Utah Jazz def. #7 San Antonio Spurs 4-0
#6 Phoenix Suns def. #3 Golden State Warriors 4-1

East
#8 Orlando Magic def. #1 Miami Heat 4-3

#7 New Jersey Nets def. #2 Milwaukee Bucks 4-1
#6 Atlanta Hawks def. #3 Charlotte Hornets 4-2

#1 LA Clippers (64-18) vs. #4 Vancouver Grizzlies (46-36)

LA Clippers Starting 5:
C - Ben Wallace
PF - Marcus Camby
SF - Vince Carter
SG - LeBron James
PG - Steve Francis

Key Bench Players: PF Chis Bosh, PF Donyell Marshall, SF Ron Artest

Vancouver Grizzlies Starting 5:
C - Raef Lafrentz
PF - Carlos Boozer
SF - Corey Maggette
SG - Lamond Murray
PG - Derek Fisher

Key Bench Players: C Samuel Dalembert, SF Sam Mack, SF Ryan Humphrey

So once again we face the Grizzlies in the semi-finals. It's 'the Duke Boys' but they are better than before. Raef Lefrentz is an upgrade over last year's C while Lamond Murray will be looking to come back and haunt from the very distant past. This team gets solid D from the non-Duker's and it's bench isn't a joke either. This could be a tough series, and we will need to stay in top shape if we are going to beat this team.

Semi-Finals

Clippers 88 - Grizzlies 85
Clippers 102 - Grizzlies 85
Clippers 89 - Grizzlies 87
Clippers 121 - Grizzlies 88

So despite a sweep, we had two very close games. Vancouver really gave us some headache's with their D and Boozer/Maggette is a hard duo to deal with. Luckily we pulled through and unlike our usual game 4's we totally slammed the door and now get a nice break before our conference finals match-up.

PF - Brian Skinner
SF - Boris Diaw
SG - Wally Szczerbiak
PG - Baron Davis

Key Bench Players: PG Troy Bell, SF Byron Russell, C Todd Fuller

Another WCF, and this time we face one of the best point guards in the NBA, Baron Davis. The face of the Jazz, Davis is a offensive headache and will be a lot for Steve to handle. Sidekicking their star player are Wally Z, a good outside shooter (If not terrible on D), Boris Diaw who is a bit more balanced and solid on D, and the front court of stopper Greg Ostertag and yet another former Clipper, Brian Skinner. This team will look to slow us down, and they do have some good D. But I think their inside game isn't much to talk about, Wally should get lit up by LeBron and Baron will have to do something really special to get past us with the level we are playing at right now.

Conference Finals

Clippers 98 - Jazz 92
Clippers 100 - Jazz 78
Clippers 109 - Jazz 95
Clippers 109 - Jazz 102

Another sweep, and another MONSTER game 4 for Vince. He got 52 points while tearing the Jazz D a new asshole and sending Utah packing. We are simply rolling right now, and with the bottom two seeds left in the East most experts think it could be 3 sweeps in a row. We will have to wait and see before we get ahead of ourselves though.

The place where Kobe moved, after which we have become a perennial powerhouse and the Lakers have fallen apart. But once again we are facing one of the only men to beat MY team in a playoff series, Kobe. It's hardly a one man show though. KVH leads the Nets in points while Mighty Mouse & Okur chip in for a pretty solid offense. Bobby Simmons isn't bad, and this team also has good D. I think their biggest weakness is depth. Their 2nd string guards are pretty awful and Bobby Simmons might be a weak link on offense. It'll be up to Ben & Marcus to shut down KVH but if we can play like I know we can, we should hang up a 3rd banner.
