Posted Image Day 81-100/Trade Deadline Record: 46-36 (30-11 @ Home/8-8 Month), 2nd Place Overall, 4.5 GB Milwaukee Tragedy hit us on day 109 when Dwight suffered Patella Tendinitis which will leave him out for pretty much the rest of the year. We were just 3-5 without Dwight, a bad sign as we approach the post-season. Still, we won the Atlantic and we'll just have to see how far Ray, CP3 & Finley can carry us. We are tied for the best home record in the East so hopefully the MSG crowd will get into it. --- #2 New York Knicks (46-36) vs. #7 Chicago Bulls (40-42) C - Chris Kaman PF - Zach Randolph SF - Michael Finley SG - Ray Allen PG - Chris Paul Key Bench Players: Eddie Griffin, Kirk Snyder, Jamaal Tinsley C - Kendrick Perkins PF - Ha Seung-Jin SF - Shawn Marion SG - John Salmons PG - Damon Stoudamire (Reece Gaines) Key Bench Subs: PG Reece Gaines, PF Ike Diogu, PF Wayne Simien, PG Eric Snow So our old friends the Bulls face us again. We are a little fortunate, because their front court is probably still worse than ours and Mighty Mouse, their 2nd best player, is out for the first two games. The key is to win those homes one's and try and find some way to contain 'The Matrix' so he doesn't dominate like he did last year. We should get past this team, but I thought the same thing last year and look what happened. Our All-Everything PG Chris Paul will be expected to do a lot in his first ever post-season. Posted Image Quarter-Finals: Knicks 116 - Bulls 111 Knicks 106 - Bulls 86 Bulls 90 - Knicks 80 Bulls 115 - Knicks 103 Knicks 105 - Bulls 82 Knicks 95 - Bulls 89 So we did what we had to, and now we are back in the semi-finals. Our big 3 all played solid, scoring 20+ a game. Outside of Marion, the Bulls got solid contributions, but they didn't have a real 2nd scorer and the big men couldn't dominate inside like you'll presumably have to do against us. It'll be interesting to see if we can keep up momentum in round 2, but most experts see it as our 'ceiling' without Dwight. Especially seeing out next opponents... --- Quarter-Finals East #1 Milwaukee Bucks def. #8 Philadelphia 76ers 4-3 #5 Atlanta Hawks def. #5 Miami Heat 4-1 #2 New York Knicks def. #7 Chicago Bulls 4-2 #3 New Orleans Hornets def. #6 Orlando Magic 4-3 West #1 LA Clippers def. #8 Portland Trailbazers 4-2 #4 Sacramento Kings def. #5 Dallas Mavericks 4-3 #2 Utah Jazz def. #7 Phoenix Suns 4-0 #3 LA Lakers def. #6 Houston Rockers 4-0 --- #2 New York Knicks (42-40) vs. #3 New Orleans Hornets C - Chris Kaman PF - Zach Randolph SF - Michael Finley SG - Ray Allen PG - Chris Paul Key bench players: Eddie Griffin, Kirk Snyder, Jamaal Tinsley C - Brad Miller PF - Pau Gasol SF - Tracy McGrady SG - Dahntay Jones PG - Sasha Vujacic Key bench subs: PG David Wesley, SF Shane Battier, C Kelvin Cato Pretty much the last team we'd want to face. The Hornets get most of their scoring from the big men up front, with Pau Gasol probably licking his lips (And beard) and the prospect of facing us without Superman. Even more annoying is T-Mac, a stopper at SF who will be a real headache for Michael to get around. Still, if CP3 can dominate Vujacic and Ray can just outscore Dahntay we might be able to pull off the upset. Being on the road due to records though? I doubt we do that... Posted Image Quarter-Finals: Hornets 106 - Knicks 96 Hornets 112 - Knicks 83 Knicks 94 - Hornets 86 Hornets 86 - Knicks 83 Knicks 101 - Hornets 86 Hornets 93 - Knicks 76 A bitter end after such a great start to the year. Pau just dominated us and we didn't get much help from CP3, who was far too inconsistent including an embarrassing 31 points he gave up to Vujacic in game 6 at MSG. Still, we hung tough most games and with our real starting five we might have won this series. We still need to polish the front court a little, but as a whole this was a successful season I suppose. --- --- Semi-Finals East #1 Milwaukee Bucks def. #5 Atlanta Hawks 4-3 #3 New Orleans Hornets def. #2 New York Knicks 4-2 West #1 LA Clippers def. #4 Sacramento Kings 4-3 #3 LA Lakers def. #2 Utah Jazz 4-1 --- Conference Finals East #1 Milwaukee Bucks def. #3 New Orleans Hornets 4-2 West #1 LA Clippers def. #3 LA Lakers 4-1 --- NBA Finals #1 LA Clippers def. #1 Milwaukee Bucks 4-2 Finals MVP: SG LeBron James --- Son of a bitch... so yes, the Clippers return to dominance after a year off. They finished with 57 wins this year, and their starting rotation of David West - Chris Bosh - Vince Carter - LeBron James & Steve Francis is pretty hard to beat. Not to mention they have Ron Artest, Al Harrington & Mookie Blaylock off the bench. They didn't match MY personal best, but it is the teams 4th title in the last 5 years. Hopefully it'll be US who stops them next season... |

Off-Season NBA Draft: N/A Free Agency: - New York Knicks re-sign PF Zach Randolph to 3 year, 17.8 Million Dollar Deal. - New York Knicks sign C Jahidi White to MLE - New York Knicks sign PG Andre Barrett to 2 Year Minimum - New York Knicks sign C Jamie Feick to LLE Post-TC FA: - Knicks sign PG Ronald 'Flip' Murray, PF Nene Hilario & SF Adam Morrison --- Posted Image New York Knicks 2005-2006 Starting Roster 1st String C - Dwight Howard (A C- F+ B A-) PF - Jahidi White (B- D- F+ A- B+) SF - Michael Finley (B- B C+ B C) SG - Ray Allen (B- A- C C+ C-) PG - Chris Paul (B B- A B+ C-) 2nd String C - Chris Kaman (C+ C- D- B+ B-) PF - Zach Randolph (B- C+ C- C+ B-) SF - Zach Randolph SG - Troy Bell (B B+ C+ C- D+) PG - Troy Bell 3rd String C - Jamie Feick (C C- D- B- A-) PF - Eddie Griffin (C+ B+ D B C+) SF - Eddie Griffin SG - Zach Randolph PG - Andre Barrett (C B+ B- C D) Not In Rotation: Nene Hilario (B+ D+ D+ C+ B-) Injured Reserve: PF Etan Thomas (C+ D F+ B- B-) SF Adam Morrison (C+ B- C C- C-) PG Ronald Murray (C+ C C+ B D+) So we got our 5th 'piece' but now it seems that Finley has become a problem. Despite the vast improvement of Superman & CP3, I feel like we've gotten back to a snag here. Our bench will also miss Kirk Snyder, although I am confident Zach & Kaman can make up those numbers along with a improving young Troy Bell. This is a big year for us. CP3 was already crowned best PG in the NBA last year, and now Dwight has the look of someone who can dominate inside. The key is those 3 guys between them and the other 10 people we dress for every game. My goal is certainly a division crown, but I'll expect a serious playoff run and conference title shot. We've shown we can hang, now it's time to push one step further. Edited by Hajjhowe, Nov 18 2010, 03:21 AM.

Posted Image Day 1-20 Record: 9-6 (7-1 @ Home), 5.0 GB Division/Conference Our road form has been awful. Our SF/SG spots have been a problem with Ray (14.5 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.9 SPG) & Michael (13.9 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 3.1 APG) both under performing, especially for people there to score. Dwight (23.4 PPG, 12.7 RPG) has been our star with CP3 being a good sidekick (16.6 PPG, 10.1 APG, 1.9 SPG). I will be looking into other option for out 3rd scorer and hopefully get us some improved D at those two spots. |
