Your O-Line, secondary, ends & running game should be key. Assuming you can sort of slow down opposing passers and keep QB's in shit with your ends you could do well. Offense seems like it'll be based a lot on the leg of Bobby Rainey but he's your best player so that makes sense. Hopefully Wright can be more of a game manager this season and not make too many mistakes. |

1st Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 3 Utah State 14 2nd WKU 10 USU 3 3rd WKU 0 USU 14 4th WKU 0 USU 14 Final USU 45 WKU 13 stats Josh Wright-9 for 26, 113 yards, 3 INTs Bobby Rainey-12 carries for 117 yards, 1 TD Bobby Rainey- 6 catches for 77 yards Graham Ward-4 drops Mark Santoro-9 tackles, 7 solo Analysis-We just fell apart in the 2nd half...panicked and abandoned the run game too soon, because of no faith in our D. Wright had a miserable first game, and its clear we need to just run, run, run, and hope we get 1sts. I don't want to have to pass any more than 15 times a game from here on out. Sun Belt schedule starts early, so we need to focus fast. Next up, at home vs UL Lafayette |

We signed our first two recruits...* DT Matt Phillips from Roanoke, Virginia (161st) and * SS Chaz Ellis from Independence, Kentucky (80th) 2nd Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 0 UL Lafayette 14 2nd WKU 7 ULL 7 3rd WKU 14 ULL 0 4th WKU 10 ULL 7 Final WKU 31 ULL 28 stats Josh Wright-3 for 7 for 18 yards Bobby Rainey-39 carries for 300 yards, 4 TD's WR's-2 drops Josh Carter-7 Tackles, 7 solo, 2 TFL Jerome Speight/Jamal Forrest/Ben Hall-INT each Analysis-1-0 in the Sun Belt after a great 2nd half comeback! Biggest win of my career so far because of how this was done...We just fed the rock to Rainey so much he hurt himself late in the game (don't worry, he'll be back next week)...Rainey really proved what a difference maker he is, and the 3 INT's topped with that performance gave us a huge, huge win. I am really excited to see what happens from here. Next week, at UL Monroe |

3rd Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 3 UL Monroe 14 2nd WKU 14 ULM 7 3rd WKU 10 ULM 7 4th WKU 6 ULM 3 Final WKU 33 ULM 31 stats Josh Wright- 8 for 13 for 210 yards, 3 TD's Bobby Rainey-38 carries for 197 yards Keshawn Simpson-10 carries for 48 yards Derrius Brooks-6 catches for 199 yards, 2 TD's Bobby Rainey-2 catches for 11 yards, 1 TD Cole Tischer-1 INT Analysis-We won on a game ending FG! Wow, what a game this was...Down early and we came back, late in the 4th we kicked a FG to go up 30-28, then they were driving and they fumbled at the 2, we recovered but went 3 and out...they got the ball back and ended up driving again for a FG with about 1:18 left in the game....we got a long pass play that Brooks broke off, and i did the Bryan Westbrook play of falling down to play for the FG, and we hit the 37 yarder as time expired. Wright showed why we recruited him and started him from the get go today, playing a great game after 3 horrible throws early on. Rainey was a workhorse who wore down in the 2nd half, but it's ok, because we are now 2-0 in the conference! Next up, at home vs Troy |

4th Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 7 Troy 14 2nd WKU 7 Troy 14 3rd WKU 10 Troy 14 4th WKU 3 Troy 21 Final Troy 63 WKU 27 stats Wright-6 for 15 for 52 yards, 1 TD 1 INT Bobby Rainey-25 carries for 119 yards, 1 TD Keshawn Simpson-11 carries for 65 yards Derrius Brooks-3 catches for 34 yards, 1 TD Mark Santoro-1 INT Analysis-Just beaten by a far more talented team...I rested Rainey in the 4th because we need him for future games against winnable opponents. I didn't expect to compete in this one and we didn't...it's ok though, our run game was still strong and I think we can bounce back vs FIU next week. Defense needs to play much, much better though. Next up, at home vs FIU |

We signed our 3rd recruit...* OLB Joey Reed from Columbus, Georgia (213th) 5th Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 3 FIU 7 2nd WKU 3 FIU 0 3rd WKU 0 FIU 7 4th WKU 20 FIU 8 Final WKU 26 FIU 22 stats Wright-6 for 13, 74 yards, 1 TD Rainey-33 carries for 233 yards, 2 TDs Rainey-4 catches for 44 yards Avery Hibbitt-game winning 25 yard TD catch with 27 seconds left Edward Pierre-8 tackles, 6 solo, 2 TFL, 1 INT Jamarcus Allen-1 sack Jamal Forrest-1 INT Analysis-This season is going to take a few years off my life...wow, another huge comeback win! We rode the coattails of Rainey again from the beginning to the end, but it was Wright to Hibbitt with 27 seconds left on a 3rd down when we were playing for a FG basically to send it into OT...Hibbitt was wide open and we found him and luckily he held on! They had once last chance for a hail mary at the end, and he got it to the endzone so I was worried of course but we knocked it down and got the win. Surpassed our win total from last year already, and now 3-1 in the Sun Belt...good times are ahead for us, hopefully. Next up, at Mid Tennessee State Edited by Mofoticon, Jul 25 2010, 07:57 PM.

3-2 going into week 7 is damn good. Probably going to need some more late game magic to get 7 wins but with 2 games against the FCS that should be W's a bowl game is definitely not out of reach. Hopefully they will give you enough time to stock up some depth because I see a few Sunbelt titles in the near future.

CUSA? You mean Sun Belt. Clearly. Also, glad to see my RUN THE BALL EVERY PLAY POSSIBLE offense is working for you. I think an even better part is it'll make recruiting good quality HB's easier and O-Line guys too. If you know you can get 35+ carries a game it's a nice place to showcase your skills. |

6th Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 0 Mid Tenn State 10 2nd WKU 0 MTSU 6 3rd WKU 7 MTSU 0 4th WKU 15 MTSU 0 Final WKU 22 MTSU 16 We signed our 4th recruit...*WR Brain Cannon from Blue Island, Illinois (256th) stats Wright-5 for 16 for 74 yards Rainey-26 carries for 120 yards, 1 TD Simpson-11 carries for 112 yards, 1 TD Ward-1 catch for 47 yards on a 4th and long with 2:50 remaining down 2 Ben Hall-99 yard INT return for TD Analysis-We came back to win again in another nailbiter...these are just going our way this year. We got shut out in the 1st half, but our team responded in the 2nd half by shutting them out and by getting huge plays, starting with Hall's pick 6 to save the score from going to 23-0, then Simpson broke off about a 50 yard TD, then on the 4th and long late, Ward made the catch and fell down to kill some more clock, then Rainey scored after running the clock out more. They had an 11 play drive to try to win it at the end but our D held up, and we are now 4-1 in the Sun Belt. Next up, at home vs FCS Southeast...lot's of recruits coming in for this one. 7th Game Scoring Summary 1st WKU 14 FCS Southeast 14 2nd WKU 14 FCSSE 7 3rd WKU 7 FCSSE 0 4th WKU 14 FCSSE 14 Final WKU 49 FCSSE 35 stats Wright-1 for 2 for 11 yards Rainey-36 carries for 315 yards, 5 TDs Simpson-14 carries for 85 yards Wright/Miller-TD run each Santoro-7 tackles, 5 Solo, 1 TFL Clendenin-sack Analysis-A must win game for 2 reasons...1, they are awful and Division 1-aa, and 2, we had 13 recruits in, some big names (for us). We took care of business on offense and never needed to pass the ball at all really, and Rainey just ran all over them, breaking the school record for most rushing TDs in a game. Simpson is a very promising backup who's only a redshirt sophomore, so I have been trying to get him involved and ready to take over the full load next year. He's doing well. On another note, Rainey is now 1st in the NCAA in rushing yards at 1401, ahead of 2nd place by over 250 yards. Shows how valuable he is. We are 1 win away from bowl eligibility, and next week we go at North Texas. Edited by Mofoticon, Jul 25 2010, 07:56 PM.
