#8 Celtics @ #1 Hawks Hawks won season series 3-1 Hawks in 4 Hawks are the team to beat in the playoffs and I think they'll repeat again, Celtics wont give a challenge. #7 Nets @ #2 Wizards Wizards won season series 3-1 Wizards in 6 Nets have been hot but the Wizards are still the better team. #6 Heat @ #3 Bucks Bucks won season series 3-1 Bucks in 6 Heat's hot shooting will win them a couple games but the Bucks should be good enough to win the series. #5 Hornets @ #4 Bulls Bulls won season series 3-1 Bulls in 6 Hornets haven't been the same since the Kobe for Duncan trade and will regret it here with a 1st round exit. West #8 Suns @ #1 Thunder Thunder won season series 3-1 Thunder in 5 Thunder will lose one of the first two at home without Durant then dominate when he comes back. #7 Grizzlies @ #2 Nuggets Season series tied at 2 Nuggets in 6 Nuggets are the better, deeper team...Memphis just isn't good enough. #6 Spurs @ #3 Lakers Season series tied at 2 Lakers in 6 Odom and Bynum injuries will make it interesting, but the Lakers are one of the top 3 most talented teams in EBL and should at least win this series. #5 TWolves @ #4 Rockets Rockets won season series 3-1 Rockets in 5 I think the Rockets are the team to beat in the West...bad draw for the TWolves 2nd Round Hawks over Bulls in 5 Bucks over Wizards in 6 Rockets over Thunder in 6 Nuggets over Lakers in 7 Conference Finals Hawks over Bucks in 5 Rockets over Nuggets in 5 Finals Hawks over Rockets in 7 |

East #8 Celtics @ #1 Hawks This one won't really be that close. Atlanta are just solid all over the place while Boston seems to have just fallen into the playoffs despite probably not wanting too. Get out the brooms... Hawks in 4 #7 Nets @ #2 Wizards This is an interesting match-up, and could come down to D. If Blatche & Pryzbilla can keep West/Griffin under control, or if Howard/Vasquez/Williams can control Parker, Pierce & Artest. I'll go with the Wizards because their D is better against their opponents strength. Wizards in 6 #6 Heat @ #3 Bucks The Heat had a terrible finish to the year, but the backcourt duo of J-Craw & Harris is a problem for any defenders. Especially two as questionable as the Bucks. If the Heats SF can slow down Rashard Lewis, Miami could pull off an upset here and I think they will do just that. Heat in 7 #5 Hornets @ #4 Bulls The Hornets seem a long way from the title contenders they were expected to be at the years start. Make no mistakes, this is pretty much a three man show while I like the Bulls starting 5 overall and their bench is obviously much better. As good as cunt, KG & Duncan are, Bosh is better than both bigs, Wallace can at least slow down James and Noah will probably do the same against Duncan. If Rose plays to his ability against Calderon this could be quick, but he won't so it'll drag long. Bulls in 6 Round 2 #4 Bulls @ #1 Hawks Two very good teams here. Possibly the best two in the East. My edge goes to the Hawks as I think JJ will go off on that backcourt while the Bulls might have trouble, especially with DPOY Josh Smith all over Bosh. Hawks in 6 #6 Heat @ #2 Wizards Unlike the last round, I think the Wizards are far better built to deal with the Heat. Paul Pierce is an explosive scorer who will probably be too much for Brockman. The defense of Artest will be huge, and I think Tony Parker is a closer match to Harris than you might think. Another key is that the Wizards have some inside skill, while the Heat will probably end their run here. Wizards in 6 Finals #2 Wizards @ #1 Hawks Atlanta is a much better team than Washington. Artest will have his hands full with JJ, while Arenas will cancel out TP. Paul Pierce could out play Marvin, but Josh Smith could be matched up with him and the bigs for Atlanta produce more offensively. The benches are clearly in favor of the Hawks too, so I'll predict Atlanta returns to the EBL finals. Hawks in 6 West #8 Suns @ #1 Thunder What is OKC without Durant? Honestly now? The record is fantastic, and Westbrook is a great sidekick. But who else scores? Who else will step up? Westbrook and Nash is still an interesting match-up, but J-Rich will KILL Mike Miller and Amare could be a headache for the big men of OKC. I am impressd with the Thunders record, but when I look at it in match-up's the D is huge, but the offense is frankly dissapointing. Their inside presence is non-existant, AK has put up pedestrian numbers and I don't know how well a rookie and Chandler can handle Amare. I'm actually going to predict a 2nd consecutive 8th seed upset, this time BY the Suns instead of against them. Suns in 7 #7 Grizzlies @ #2 Nuggets The Grizzlies have a nice duo in gay & Randolph, but Marc Gasol can't rebound at all near a C's level and the backcourt is promising bu tnot there yet. Meanwhile Melo and gay is a nice match-up, but Yao will be a lot for them to handle and I don't think Mayo or Conley can slow down Delonte West with the way he's playing. I'll have to pick the Nuggets here. Nuggets in 5 #6 Spurs @ #3 Lakers Two first team EBLer's is nice to have. Andrew Bynum is nice to have. But what about the rest? Bayless is still a few years from hoping to match Baron Davis, DeJuan Blair is so little a threat inside that Shaq & Gasol can either double/single team Bynum, or send Gasol to help Shawn Marion against Dirk. The benches learly favor the Lakers, the deepest team in EBL. As great as Kobe is, Wade is no slouch and Dirk will be double teamed or even triple teamed until Bynum comes back, and not even he can overcome that. Lakers in 6 #5 TWolves @ #4 Rockets Two of the best teams in the last few sims draw each other in round one. This has some mouth watering match-up's and I think the winner of this could punch a ticket to the WCF finals right after. Houston is lead by MVP CP3, K-Mart & Danny Granger, the best PG/SG/SF combo in EBL bar NONE. Up front however, are some questions. Minnesota boasts ROY John Wall, S-Jax, Luo Deng & Kevin Love. 4 dangerous scorers joined by Chris Kaman and a nice bench. This is really closer than a lot of series. Wall/S-Jax/Deng isn't as good as Houston's three, but it's not miles behind. Kevin Love will need to play HUGE against Aldridge and Chris Kaman could help as well. I'll pick Houston based mostly on defense, but these two teams could be metting in a lot of playoff series over the next few years... and not in round 1. Rockets in 7 Round 2: #8 Suns @ #4 Rockets Unlike OKC, the Suns have far less hope against Houston. Amare will be double teamed by the very good Perkins/Aldridge combo. J-Rich is better than K-Mart, but will have Granger hanging around. Nash is no CP3 either, and his suspect D will get smoked by Paul. A nice run for Phoenix, but cinderella gets crushed here. Rockets in 4 #3 Lakers @ #2 Nuggets Denver has had a great year. Melo was one of the leagues best, Yao was an All-EBL 2nd team center and Delonte West showed a lot. But the Lakers can match all of that, and exploit other spots. As good as Denver has been, LA looks better. This'll be a close series, but the Lakers depth and starting 5 will see them to victory. Lakers in 6 Finals: #4 Rockets @ #3 Lakers So a big question, obviously, is can Aldridge slow down Pau Gasol. Shaq is too good for Perkins to leave alone, and Marion is good enough to distract Granger. I think baron Davis going to be a headache for CP3, and Wade is better than Martin. The big inside presence of Gasol is the key in my eyes, and it should help LA to the EBL finals. Lakers in 6 EBL Finals #3 Lakers @ #1 Hawks So two fo EBL's most complete teams leaves a lot of questions. The big men match-up well, the SF's match-up well, the backcourts match-up well... really it could come down to the bench which again, favors the Lakers. Othello Hunter is no Lamar Odom, Grant Hill is no Manu Ginobili & Carlos Arroyo is no Willie Warren. I'll say the Lakers in 7, but this really could go either way. Lakers in 7 |
