2100 Season

Overview

This the first official FBA season. This is the first national organized professional basketball league since the NBA folded in 2075 over a labor dispute. Over the last 25 years, many smaller local leagues competed, some against each other. It was decided for the year 2100 that these leagues would send their best players and great the Future Basketball Association. Great players such as Sammy Kingston and Austin Abdul-Rauf are from New York. Los Angeles hosts the great scorer Zeke Barros. The legendary Yao Olajuwon plays for the Houston franchise. Taylor Piggott looks for Cleveland’s first championship in what say to be about 160 years by now. Also, right out of college is perhaps the greatest young player, and sure Rookie of the Year for the first year of FBA: Wilt Russell. There are tons more players. In high school and colleges and even other countries, young players like Donovan Daniels, the Rocka and Blain Brothers, Tyler Millhone and Justin Howe VII await their chance to be drafted and debut in 2101.

Playoffs

EAST-Round 1

#1 New York Red Devils defeated #8 Indiana Hoosiers 4-3

The Hoosiers had to be disappointed considering the Red Devils played the entire series without both Sammy Kingston and Austin Abdur-Rauf, and still could not pull off the upset.

#2 Detroit Renaissance defeated #7 Carolina Racers 4-2

Gavin Reed and Chandler Issel dominated the series, winning game 1 by 37 points. The Racers never recovered.

#6 Cleveland Miz defeated #3 Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3

Taylor Piggot scored 29 points and had 11 rebounds and led the Miz to a game 7 upset.

#4 Philadephia Extreme defeated #5 Baltimore Bullets 4-2

Philly’s Jerome Holton put up 25-7-5 and looks to make a statement that Philly is the team to beat with Kingston and Abdul-Rauf out.

WEST-Round 1

#1 Los Angeles Terminators defeated #8 Phoenix Lizards 4-0

Margins of victory for the Terminators: 46, 34, 3 and 33.

#7 Edmonton Tornados defeated #2 Minneapolis Lakers 4-2

Austin Bellamy carried Edmonton to a first round upset, including a 31-12-7-3-4 in a game 4 victory.

#3 Juneau Eskimos defeated #6 Calgary Stampede 4-2

The Eskimos were just a better team, Owen McInnis put the Stampede away with 28 points in game 6

#5 San Diego Braves defeated #4 Hawaii Islanders 4-2

Islanders had no one to stop PG Richard Anthony, who put up 31 in the clincher.

EAST-Semi-Finals

#4 Philadelphia Extreme defeated #1 New York Red Devils 4-2

New York didn’t have enough without its two best players. Jerome Holton had games of 33-3-4, 40-5-6, 35-9-4 and 35-7-5 in the 4 wins.

#2 Detroit Renaissance defeated #6 Cleveland Miz 4-1

Taylor Piggott did all he could (including a 18-13-7 in game 5), but Detroit was too much to handle.

WEST-Semi-Finals

#1 Los Angeles Terminators defeated #5 San Diego Braves 4-1

The combo of Wilt Russell and Zeke Barros was too much for San Diego. Wilt put up a 33-19-7-5 in game 3.

#7 Edmonton Tornados defeated #3 Juneau Eskimos 4-3

Another upset by Edmonton. The Tornados won the rebounding way 70-51 in game 7, and survived a wild final quarter (36-35).

EAST-Conference Finals

#4 Philadelphia Extreme defeated #2 Detroit Renaissance 4-2

Jerome Holton might have become the league’s biggest star early on. Facing a 2-0 deficit, Holton did 35-13-5 in game 3, 52-4-5 in game 4, 42-10reb in game 5 and 40-10-5 in game 6 to send Philly to the finals.

#1 Los Angeles Terminators defeated #7 Edmonton Tornados 4-0

The Tornados could not stop Russell or Zeke. Russell had rebounding games of 16, 15, 18 and 19.

2100 FBA Finals: #4 Philadelphia Extreme (45-37) vs. #1 Los Angeles Terminators (55-27)

Game 1: TERMINATORS 122, Extreme 98
Holton was held to 26 points (below average considering his playoffs) and Wilt Russell had 40-11.

Game 2: TERMINATORS 121, Extreme 109
They held Russell to 14-14, but Zeke Barros went off for 46. Holton only had 20.

Game 3: Terminators 98, EXTREME 90
Barros put up 41, Wilt had 29-20. Holton scored 26 on 28 shots. It’s just too much for Philly.

Game 4: Terminators 116, EXTREME 94
Wilt and Zeke each had 39, PG Juan Peterson added a 14-13-8, and the Terminators won their first title. Holton’s 22-11-7 not nearly enough.

2100 FBA Champions: Los Angeles Terminators
Playoffs MVP: Wilt Russell, Los Angeles: (30.2 PPG, 14.0 RPG, 4.6 APG, 2.1 SPG, 3.2 BPG)

Next is the lottery. Who has signed up by the actual draft will be in the draft.

You can check the sign-up thread in that section of the board.

Also, damn me being mediocre at best right now. Hopefully my passing gets even better at least.

FBA 2101 Playoff Prediction Contest

I will assume everyone knows how the NBA playoff brackets work. #8 @ #1, #7 @ #2, #6 @ #3, #5 @ #4, and then the winner of #8/#1 faces #5/#4 etc.

Prediction Contest Rules

-You need to select the winning team for each series, all the way through the FBA Finals. That means if a team you selected for the finals goes down in round 1, that sucks for you.

-You need to select how many games the series will go (so say like, Red Devils over Maple Leafs in 7, or whatever). Even if you get the winner wrong, you’ll get points for the amount of games if correct.

-All first round matches will be worth 5 points, 2nd round worth 10 points, 3rd worth 15 points and finals worth 30 points. All games guesses for the series are worth 2 points.

-Winner will get to select TWO of the following prizes, and may use them whenever on which ever player they want, except they cannot use it on the same player twice in one offseason, and not on incoming rookies.

"No Trade Clause": You may give one of your players a no trade clause for his entire career.
"Trade Me Now": Will trade your player to whatever team you want. N/A to free agents.
"Early Retirement": Allow one of your players to retire after next season. Useful if you have a crappy player you do not want anymore.
"One More Year": Will guarantee a player will not retire in the upcoming offseason. Useful if you have an expiring old contract, but still a great player.
"As Good As Advertised": Will make a one of your player's scouting potential his real potential.
"Extensive Training:": Will give one of your players +3 in every attribute.
"Physically Fit": Will give one your player +10 jumping and +10 strength.
"Marathon Man": Will give a player +10 quickness, but -5 pounds.
"Tunnel Vision": Will give your player +20 in one category of your choosing, but -5 in his worst 3 categories.
"The Fighter": Whatever team your player plays against in next season’s opener, the opposing player's leading scorer for that game will receive a season ending injury.

That all being said, here are the series.
