#8 Portland Trailblazers @ #1 Houston Rockets

- The Blazers do have a tricky team, but unfortunately they don't have the right match-up to take advantage of a Bogutless Houston side. While Bosh could have a dominant series, Yi will be his usual mediocre self and the other match-up's don't really favor the Blazers either. They do have better depth which could get them a win or two, but I don't see an upset here.

Houston in 5

#7 Phoenix Suns @ #2 Golden State Warriors

Phoenix would REALLY have benefited from having Johnny O'Bryant, with Plumlee gone the Warriors front court is Bynum and awfulness. These teams are similar, but it just feels like the Warriors are better at what they do than the Suns are right now. Phoenix has more depth, and it should be close, but I see GS holding on and crawling into round 2.

Warriors in 7

#6 Los Angeles Clippers @ #3 Denver Nuggets

If they let Aaron Brooks start at PG, the Clippers aren't too bad. While not mind blowing this year, Kevin Love is a better scorer than any of Denver's big men and Gilcrhist/MCW/Kyle Anderson is a pretty good match-up against Denvers Webster/mayo/Abrams/Nenad. Still, the Nuggets seem just a bit better at the SF/SG/PG spot (Notably on D) and the Clippers don't have the big man required to really exploit Denver here.

Denver in 6

#5 Sacramento Kings @ #4 Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC brings exactly what they have brought for the last 4-6 years. Great production at SF/SG/PG with bigs who play their roles well. This isn't as true as past season however, as I am not nearly as impressed by Chandler/AK as years past. The Kings meanwhile will have no problems with the opposing big men and have a very nice duo in Arenas/Granger to go with the versatile Crandall Head & the resurgent Dirk Nowitski. The Knings have a clearly better team, but the key will be if Jonas can step up and exploit the OKC big men. I don't know if he can, and Westbrook/Durant is probably too much for Dirk/Granger to handle.

OKC in 7

Semi-Finals:

#4 Oklahoma City Thunder @ #1 Houston Rockets

These two teams are more similar than you would think. They both rely on the SF/SG/PG positions, they both have so-so front courts. With that said, I am still not sold on Melo or LeBron as a PF and think that PF would be in real trouble against Westbrook. The PG spot is a push and I think Durant could match-up with Melo or LeBron. While neither of these teams have good depth at all, I'll go with the Thunder because I don't like the Rockets "big" men up front and think the SF/SG/PG match-up probably favors OKC.

OKC in 7

#3 Denver Nuggets @ #2 Golden State Warriors

Denver and GS have similar systems, but the Nuggets do it better. I like their bench more, I think their plethora of bigs can stop Bynum and overwhelm anyone else they have and while Rivers is the best player in the series, he doesn't have a good enough supporting cast to pass this test.

Denver in 5

Finals:

#4 Oklahoma City Thunder @ #3 Denver Nuggets

Yes. Again. While Westbrook & Durant are a better duo than the Nuggets have, Denver's big men are more talented and Nenad is probably a lot better than Jameer as this point. If Tracy Abrams can keep up his level of play you could see, again, the Nuggets slipping past OKC and into the finals. Again.

Denver in 7

EAST

#8 Detroit Pistons @ #1 Orlando Magic

- I think that, against Cleveland, Detroit could win. Against Orlando? Eeeh. Cousins is a good match for Dwight and while Pau is obviously better offensively than whoever the magi start at PF, I think their depth on D here could slow him down enough. The rest of the matches all seem to favor Orlando. Barnes is dissapointing, but he's probably still better than CDR/Ron Artest/Whoever Detroit starts. Ledo and Bufrod would have been close before Ledo's solid rookie campaign. Irving is obviously better than Knight due to the fact he can play defense while Knight, not so much. I think the Pistons can get a win, but ultimately will fall pretty fast here.

Orlando in 5

#7 Toronto Raptors @ #2 Milwaukee Bucks

Brandon Jennings is a fucking monster. Needs to be said. Anywho, I like Marc Gasol & Stuckey, but Tanveer Bhullar & Terrence Williams just aren't good enough against the PF/SF combo they are facing here. Favors should eat Bhullar alive while Wade or KMart would smoke Williams (Although I imagine the AI will put Williams on KMart). I think if you look at the PG stats, Jennings will have a better series. But he won't win this one. But it's NOT HIS FAULT and he isn't A CHOKER. Just not enough talent around him.

Milwaukee in 6

#6 Indiana Pacers @ #3 Cleveland Cavaliers

People will make a big deal about Z-Bo's injury, and yes it's certainly big. But I was not a fan of this front court before that. Al Jefferson is a very, very poor copy of Z-Bo who can't do what he does nearly as well and is awful on D. Tyreke/Thornton wills core a lot. That's inevitable. But who else can help them? Even with Z-Bo, you would have Beasley crushing the other 3 guys on this team and probably Hamilton/David West getting big series too. There is arguably no better SG/PG duo than Evans & Thornton. But two men can't win a series against a good team, and that's what the Pacers are.

Indiana in 6

#5 Washington Wizards @ #4 Philadelphia 76ers

Thaddeus Young has taken a big step this year, becoming apparently the best SF in EBL. Supporting him is AI whose gotten a solid 20 PPG and... who? Ricky Rubio distributes well, but has still proven unable to score much. Louis Williams has fallen off a lot and DeAngelo Harrison seems to have no place at all. Up front is Paul Milsap whose been an ok scorer and Hassan Whitehead who basically provides no offense. Opposite them are my beloved Wizards. While their big men aren't going to scare anyone on offense, they wills top Milsap and they will force the 76ers into taking outside shots and fighting them for rebounds. They have too much talent in the paint to let Milsap or anyone at SF/SG/PG bully them. Thad Young is a lot better than Morrow (Duh) but in an outside shooting contest where rebounding will be important, I do favor the Wizards. They have shot very well all year (2nd in FG% & 4th in 3PT%) and their defense has gotten better and better. I also think Rubio is grossly over matched by Conley who is coming off a career year and has shown he can score a lot if needed. Home court is big, but I'll pick Washington to slide past the Philly is a very close contest.

Washington in 6

Semi-Finals:

#5 Washington Wizards @ #1 Orlando Magic

Washington is 4-0 against Orlando since the trade deadline, and the reasons might not be as clear as you'd think. Demarcus Cousins will have a tough time dealing with Horford and Perkins, while Tobias Harris is good but not any better than Griffin/Blatche. The big men are inf avor of Orlando, but not by any large margin. The tircky part is coming up. Harrison Barnes hasn't scored much all year and faces an underrated defend in Morrow. Will Barton is no ledo, but he's got good defense and Leandro Barbosa has shown he can score off the bench against this team (And a lot of teams, actually). Finally you get Conley & Irving, which is close although Conley has better offensive stats (But is worse on D). It's a close series, but it seems that Washington has the Magic's number and I will certainly be hoping that trend continues here.

Washington in 7

#6 Indiana Pacers @ #2 Milwaukee Bucks

An interesting bout here, but it comes down to a few factors. Dwayne Wade will have a tough time dealing with Beasley due to his size, while Favors should have a big series against the good but yong front court of Indiana. Teague & Bullock is a great duo, but CP3 and KMart might just barely edge them out. It's close, but I think ultimately that Derrick Favors size and talent will push this team back to the ECF.

Milwaukee in 6

Finals:

#5 Washington Wizards @ #2 Milwaukee Bucks

Metting for the 3rd time in a row (I hope) will be two teams that have had surprisingly close games this season. Their last game in Milwaukee was decided by 3 points, while earlier in the year Washington won narrow W's. The season series is split, and with the newer line-up's this could be close. Favors will have a real problem against the combination of big men up front for the Wizards who you could argue have 3 & 1/2 good defensive starters. The rebound battle could be close too thanks to Griffin & Horford, but in general should favor Milwaukee. At SF Wade is probably too much for Morrow to handle, but KMart/JR Smith isn't as good as Barbosa/Barton (In my eyes). A real interesting bout will be CP3 & Conley. These are two of the leagues best PG's and while Paul has more weapons, he has struggled in the past defending Conley. If the Bucks can win the rebound battle and wade can perform enough, they should get past Washington. Don't be shocked if this is an upset though (Or if the 76ers are here).

Milwaukee in 7

EBL Finals:

#3 Denver Nuggets @ #2 Milwaukee Bucks

I love the Nugs, but they'll have their hands full here. KMart and Mayo is close, but Wade & Webster might be a little too far. While Tracy Abarams is better JR Smith (By a lot this year) Derrick Favors could run all over the Denver big men. Ultimately I'll take the Bucks to become our first two time champions, and than laugh when the finals here is Kings vs. Magic.
