WWE ordered O2 Arena security to confiscate all signs from fans relating to Zack Ryder at yesterday's Monday Night Raw taping at in London, England.

The Raw Superstar has been encouraging fans to bring Ryder related signs to WWE events, such as "Broski of the Week." He often goes on Twitter acknowledging Ryder signs shown on television. He asked for an image of the "Zack Ryder = Ratings" sign that briefly appeared on Raw. That too was confiscated.

Damn them holding down Ryder, :smh:

There is speculation that WWE moved up the draft to next Monday night partly because of Edge's sudden retirement. With Edge gone now, there's a major lack of babyfaces on the WWE roster, especially on the SmackDown side.

Everyone expects a top babyface from the RAW brand to be drafted to SmackDown.

Source on both is Rajah

Orton's gotta go to SD...Orton vs Del Rio seems like a natural feud for now. Although, I'd love if Cena went to SD like some rumors say.

R-Truth is probably going heel, with the way that angle played out.

More Morrison and melina stuff from LOP

To follow up on the story of John Morrison snubbing Trish Stratus at WrestleMania XXVII, friends of the Raw Superstar were shocked by his cold behavior. The assumption of many within WWE is that Melina was in his ear all week because she believed Stratus was taking her spot at the pay-per-view event.

WWE sources say as Stratus was presenting her match suggestions to Morrison backstage, he said things such as "I'm not feeling that" (coined several years ago by Hulk Hogan in WCW) and "I don't want to look at you."

Kelly Kelly was scheduled for the Six-person Mixed Tag Team Match at one point, but the addition of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi to the bout apparently led to a change in plans. It has been speculated that WWE instigated rumors of Kelly Kelly appearing in the match to prevent news of Snooki wrestling from leaking out.

Multiple people within WWE are blaming the entire situation on Melina as they feel she's primarily responsible for the friction between Morrison and Stratus. Melina has been a heat magnet within the locker room for years, which is why a number of her pushes have been derailed.

Comparisons to former WWE talent Tammy Sytch (a/k/a Sunny) were drawn early in her WWE run as many people felt she was similarly difficult to deal with and that her ego was out of control. Melina was sentenced to face The Undertaker in "Wrestler's Court" in early 2006 due to her unscrupulous behavior, which is the unofficial forum among WWE talent for the policing of wrestlers that violate the rules and traditions of the company. Her ill-behaved manners persisted and she found herself transferred from SmackDown to Raw.

There have been numerous other accounts of friction between Melina and her locker room peers dating back to her time in WWE's developmental system.

* She had issues with veteran female talent such as Amy "Lita" Dumas kicking her out of the locker room and forcing her to change in the hallway. Melina carried on the tradition with some of the younger Divas once she became a veteran herself.

* Melina was involved in a backstage altercation with Sharmell on May 13, 2006 at a SmackDown live event in El Paso, Texas. The incident was triggered by Batista's fistfight with Booker T the week prior during shooting for the SummerSlam commercial.

* Melina engaged in a war of words with Candice Michelle via blog postings on WWE.com. In early 2007, Michelle accused Melina of stealing one of her signature wrestling maneuvers. Melina responded to her accusation by posting a picture of herself performing the maneuver in question during an independent wrestling event in 2003, proving that she was using it long before Michelle joined WWE. Michelle fired back with a defamatory post, which WWE.com deemed unsuitable to publish. Michelle also took exception to Melina claiming that she had a "spare tire" during an episode of Raw, saying she was jealous. The off-screen animosity ultimately shifted on-screen via storyline.

* Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) stated during an interview following her elimination from the 2007 Diva Search that Melina was the one Diva she was warned about by WWE personnel.

* Maria Kanellis was not complementary of Melina's backstage demeanor in interviews following her release from WWE last year.

* Brooke Adams, who now performs as Miss Tessmacher in TNA Wrestling, revealed in an interview earlier this year that her departure from WWE in 2007 had nothing to do with Melina—as rumored. She did, however, disparage her former colleague's character.

Adams stated, "The reason I left WWE never had anything to do with her, that was just a rumor. When I left I was actually the only person that liked her. She was such a rude, fake, bitch to everyone. She then tried to turn my girls Layla and Kelly Kelly against me by telling them a lie that I said which in reality was a rumor that she started. It was never anything I said. I can't stand her and neither can most of the rest."

* Melina harbored great animosity towards Mickie James early in her career. She trashed James for months on the message forum of her official website while the two worked side by side in Ohio Valley Wrestling, going as far to call her a 'slut' in one post (while also belittling future TNA Knockout Angelina Love).

Melina wrote: "I'd rather work with a Diva who has no training than work with Alexis Laree.

"She steals other girls moves. Is lazy and doesn't care about anyone but herself. It's justice that she isn't on tv.

"But I do want to see hard working girls such as Beth Pheonix and Shelly Martinez up on the show... as for Angel Williams... she can cry on a pillow with Alexis - slut - Laree."

Shortly after James' promotion to the main roster in October 2005, Melina posted a lengthy commentary alleging she was victimized by the Richmond native—without referring to her by name.

Melina wrote: "I know that there's going to be people who don't understand. I'm sorry... I can't help the way I feel about HER (I Hope you know who HER is). I tried my best to get along with the girl. It's just not meant to be. I don't know if you've seen America's Next Top Model and how cady girls can be on that show... well, welcome to my world with HER. She hated me from the day I showed up to Louisville. She made sure my life there wasn't great. You WOULD think it was a new person thing, but when new people came around, I was still the one who got her crap. But you know, as she tried to break me.... I just got stronger and tried harder. Our work got us on tv and She hated that I was on tv first.

"She hated that I got any attention at all. You know.... I don't consider myself pretty. Not at all. Not like the other girls. And I am cool with that. Like I have said before, looks come and go but the way I am, the way i treat people and the things I accomplish in life... that can never be taken away from me. I can die right now knowing how I touched peoples lives.... I know that I did things on my terms. I never took off my clothes, kissed ass or slept with anyone to get my spot. I worked hard. I'm not perfect but I give the people my all."

In general, Melina has a reputation behind the scenes for being 'a head case'. People within WWE were praising her for returning with a improved attitude following her long injury layoff last year, but others immediately predicted that it wouldn't last

If you’ve noticed that WWE has pulled back on featuring CM Punk’s character in recent weeks, it appears there’s a reason behind it. One of the main topics of conversation behind the scenes in WWE in recent weeks has been that CM Punk’s WWE career may be coming to an end very soon.

Punk has been telling people close to him that he’s interested in taking some time off when his WWE contract expires in the coming months. Punk is reportedly burned out from living the hectic WWE lifestyle for the past 5 years. Additionally, Punk is said to be very unhappy with the lack of push he’s received in recent months. Punk has been a workhorse for WWE without being treated as one of the company’s top stars. While WWE has made a strong effort to push The Miz and Alberto Del Rio to the moon, Punk has been somewhat neglected and is “just there” on the WWE roster.

The topic of Punk leaving WWE started on the European tour and continued at Monday’s WWE RAW.

While Punk leaving WWE would be another huge blow to WWE’s talent roster, there’s still a chance that WWE can sign him to a new deal. It’s also possible that WWE could give him a few months off when his contract expires and bring him back when he’s had time to re-charge.

Vince Asked About Interest in Buying TNA, Comments on Blood & Extreme Rules
By Marc Middleton
Apr 30, 2011 - 4:10:25 AM

- When asked by a shareholder at Friday's meeting about Extreme Rules, Vince McMahon said that you don't need blood to be extreme, adding that people won't tune in to the pay-per-view to see someone bleed.

- Vince was also asked by a shareholder if he had interest in buying TNA Wrestling. The shareholder asked, "When are you going to buy that three letter company that's based in Nashville, TN, because they have the wrong people in charge of that company."

Vince responded with a "right" and the shareholder continued on about how Vince needs to save the wrestling business from Dixie Carter and added that Stephanie McMahon has more brains than Dixie Carter, in his opinion. Vince responded, "I would hope." There was laughter from Vince, Stephanie and Triple H after the shareholder's comments.

The shareholder continued about how he thought Vince could fix TNA. Vince just responded with, "I don't know that they are for sale." After the shareholder suggested Vince make an offer and after more laughter from everyone, Vince smiled and said, "Well, maybe."

WrestleMania pins 1 million PPV buys
Enlisted stars scheme pays off for WWE
By Marc Graser
The Miz

WrestleMania is WWE's single biggest moneymaker each year.
Helped by some heavy hype from Dwayne ''The Rock'' Johnson and ''Jersey Shore's'' Snooki, WWE has reached its goal of 1 million pay-per-view buys again for WrestleMania.

Although final numbers are still being tallied, this year's live four-hour event, hosted April 3, in Atlanta, is already up 30% in North America and up to 15% overseas, according to the company.

Last year's WrestleMania generated 885,000 orders, down from 960,000 in 2009.

WrestleMania is the company's single biggest moneymaker each year. Last year's PPV earned $19 million; ticket sales to the Phoenix show chalked up another $5.8 million. But that was down from previous years. In 2008, Orlando's 'Mania earned nearly $24 million from PPV buys and another $6 million in ticket sales.

The recession recently caused consumers to reconsider ponying up $50 for WWE's version of the Super Bowl, or save money by holding viewing parties, causing PPV buys to drop. Fans also complained storylines were weak leading up to the event.

Knowing WWE needed to drum up some excitement around this year's show, McMahon turned to some old friends.

In February, it brought back Johnson, who left the ring seven years ago as ''The Rock'' to pursue a film career. Johnson spent the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 27 appearing on WWE's ''Monday Night Raw,'' on USA Network, as part of an ongoing storyline, and toplining a series of ads across NBCUniversal's channels to hype his appearance at 'Mania as the show's first guest host.

Timing comes as Johnson was revving up to promote Universal's ''Fast Five,'' out today.

Company had also put ''Stone Cold'' Steve Austin, another former WWE star-turned thesp (he recently co-starred in ''The Expendables''), back in the ring for the big show. Austin is currently hosting USA's first WWE-produced reality show, ''Tough Enough.''

WWE even turned to enlist another reality star, Snooki, to involve her in another plotline over the several weeks on ''Raw'' that culminated in a match at 'Mania with former WWE diva Trish Stratus, also back for the first time in years.

WWE had hoped the return of some of its former stars (and still top draws when it comes to recent ratings) would speak not only to the company's core fanbase but attract a broader audience, and potential new fans.

But in addition to the guest stars, WWE also stepped up its promo machine, pairing up with major marketers like Kmart, having its athletes show up on magazine covers and series like USA's ''Burn Notice'' and ''Psych'' and TLC's ''Cake Boss,'' and talkshows like TBS' ''Conan,'' ABC's ''Jimmy Kimmel Live,'' as well as ''Access Hollywood Live'' and Nickelodeon's ''Kids' Choice Awards,'' among others.

WWE is already putting some marketing muscle behind the next event.

Johnson has already said ''The Rock'' will be back for WrestleMania 28, set for Miami's Sun Life Stadium, next year, where he will face off against one of WWE's other big stars, John Cena.

On Smackdown, there is talk of Michelle McCool leaving the WWE and that the sound byte was changed from her saying Loser Leaves Smackdown to Loser Leaves WWE, but the edit is hilariously bad.

Nothing is official, but the internal thought with WWE is that The Undertaker is basically retired, which explains Michelle McCool’s departure stay at home with him. According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, physically Undertaker is in far worse shape than is being let on. The company is not ruling out him wrestling next year at Wrestlemania, however, they are not expecting him to work another match before then. His friends have talked to him about winning again at Wrestlemania 28, and retiring with a 20-0 Mania streak.

WWE News: John Morrison injured & will require surgery, Morrison comments on surgery Monday
May 9, 2011 - 10:06:05 AM
By James Caldwell, Torch assistant editor

WWE wrestler John Morrison is injured and will require surgery to repair damage to his neck.

Morrison, who is in the middle of a feud with R-Truth on TV, will require time off.

Monday morning, Morrison addressed the injury on Twitter and confirmed he will require time off: "I'm about to get an operation to fix my neck - I will return, (R-Truth)."

Morrison was advertised for this past weekend's house show tour, but he did not wrestle on any of the three Raw shows.

Morrison will be appearing on Monday's edition of "Tough Enough" in a guest-starring role filmed earlier this year.

Averno, one of the top rudos for CMLL for the half decade, has signed a contract with WWE. Averno is joining the US promotion to resume his feud with Misitco (now Sin Cara) as an unmasked heel. The plan was for him to lose his mask to La Mascara at June 17th’s Jucio Final, but plans may change as this news gets out. Multiple sources have confirmed to me both Averno’s signing and his imminent mask loss.

WWE has been unhappy with Sin Cara’s matches so far. Atypically, they’ve sought to resolve this by bringing in more agreeable opponents for him to work with. The story I was told is WWE went to Sin Cara and asked him that if he could work with anyone in the world, who would he most like to work with. Obviously, he picked his long time rival (and probably close friend) Averno. WWE earlier had Averno in for a tryout last October, the same tryout Mistico and Diamante were at (and which Durango Kid helped set up), but decided not to sign him at that time. Things have changed, and Averno secretly signed with WWE during their last tour of Mexico.

It’s worth noting this is not actually an expanded WWE raid of CMLL luchadors or lucha style wrestlers in general. They want Averno to fill a specific need. I do not believe this directly increases (or decreases) their chances of signing anyone else from Mexico. To put it simply, WWE signing Averno does not mean they’re about to sign Fantasma or Sombra or anyone else.

This is also a big risk for Averno; he’s coming in for a defined spot, but there may not be plans past that; compare Averno to Tyson Kidd, who works the style they WWE prefers, is very good at it, and is barely on their roster. Dropping your mask and going to WWE in hopes of a big push worked out for Alberto Del Rio, but not so much for Rey Ortiz. Since the plan is for him to work against Sin Cara, I expect he will be brought to the main roster quickly, and not go to FCW.

Averno has not informed CMLL of his WWE signing. Instead, Averno only told their programming department he wanted to lost his mask ASAP and, if they weren’t willing to do it, he would go to whichever outside promoter could pay him the most to drop it. CMLL agreed to do it there and scrambled their plans for June (a cage match which would’ve included the Gen11/Rayos feud and probably other rivalries; no loser had been definitively been decided), putting Averno’s mask loss in on 06/17. Mascara Dorada would’ve been the preferred choice to win the mask, but he’s locked in with NJPW comittements. It’s unknown if other people were considered, but CMLL is said to be a very divided and unhappy place at the moment, and politics surely played some role in the decision (as they do in most.)

As I write this, I believe upper CMLL management is still unaware of Averno signing with WWE (though I’m the impression that many other people in the company, which again speaks to the fractured nature of CMLL) and would’ve been when the card for next Friday was announced. Averno is not yet on any of the big six cards next week (GDL/Puebla/Mexico/Coliseo), but I do not believe that has anything to do with this news, and he is scheduled to work shows in Queretaro (Tuesday) and Xalapa (Wednesday).

I have declined to post about this because of that, and because early release of this information may cost people’s jobs, and may cost Averno a big payday. That’s not really worth being first, to me. I’m posting this story now because the word has gotten out to enough people that there’s really no way it can be kept as a secret any more. SuperLuchas has put the Averno to WWE portion on their cover, out today, though they are not confirming the mask loss.

It’s possible that CMLL may pull the match – as much for the betrayal as the result getting out – (though that would mean Averno would just find someone else to pay for the mask), but the CMLL way tends to be to ignore the world around them. Also, they’d be able to beat soon to be WWE star on the way out, and CMLL thinks that would mean a lot to their fans. We’ll see.

Sorry I had to spoil this result for everyone. Didn’t want to know who was going to win myself, but can’t tell this story without telling that part.
