WWE released their Key Performance Indicators for the fourth quarter of 2013 through November 30th. According to the report, this year's Survivor Series, headlined by WWE Champion Randy Orton defending his title against The Big Show, is currently estimated at doing 179,000 buys, after taking into account that Hell In A Cell and Battleground averaged 167,000 buys each. That number is down 14% from last year's Survivor Series, which garnered 208,000 buys and was headlined by WWE Champion CM Punk defending his title against Ryback and John Cena in a triple threat match. The 2011 Survivor Series, which featured The Rock's first over seven years, did 281,000 buys. Not really WWE news but interesting nonetheless

As noted earlier, negotiations between TNA and Toby Keith, who was the main person looking to purchase the company, apparently fell through. Jeff Jarrett was expected to be a part of the promotion in a key role if the sale happened, due to his relationship with Keith. Shortly after talks between Keith and TNA fell through, Jarrett announced that he was parting ways with TNA. On tonight's episode of his podcast, which you can listen to at MLW.com, Konnan said that he spoke with Jarrett and that Jarrett will be making an announcement this week about a new project. He said that Jarrett told him that TNA is in really bad shape, and that he doesn't know and doesn't care if they see through the year. Konnan then pretty much stated that Jarrett would be starting a new promotion with Keith. In perhaps an unrelated note, Jim Ross noted on his Twitter last Tuesday that he had a "great meeting with a major sports concern... Could be big...and fun!" He wrote later in the week that he had dinner with Keith and others in New Orleans while he was in town for the Sugar Bowl. BAW GAWD, ANOTHER WRESTLING COMPANY.
It is my hope that they sign everyone in WWE and then JR gets to announce again...

Here is what I wrote on EWB about this (tonights Rumble)
Spoiler: click to toggle - Quote:
-
I have always been a huge wrestling fan and there has never been anything better for me than the Royal Rumble year in and out. Having never been to a WWE PPV before, being asked by a friend if I wanted to go to this Rumble months ago knowing it was in Pittsburgh (an hour away from me), I jumped at the chance to go. From the very moment Summerslam ended, I have been excited about the Rumble match itself because I thought the entire plan of that event was to set Bryan up to get redemption down the line for Wrestlemania season. It was a perfectly written story and Bryan going month after month without a clean title match finish (win or loss) just led me to believe even further that they had this great long term redemption story that would end with Bryan getting 70k people to chant yes at him to end Wrestlemania as he leaves as champion.
So tonight comes and Bryan puts on the best match of the night (not even close really), and in turn makes me a fan of Bray Wyatt, someone I have been skeptical about until now. Bryan losing tonight seemed to not only establish Wyatt as a legit superstar, but when Bryan won the Rumble (as I expected still), Wyatt would then have a case for a title match a few months down the line. Having just seen them blow the roof off the arena, I loved the idea of that as a future possibility.
The WWE title match tonight got shit on by the fans in attendance, and I know some of you are upset by it, but as a person in attendance, I would say it was more apathy than anything related to Cena or Orton. The fans just didn't have interest in the match and tried to convey that to the WWE in the only way they could at the time. It may have come off bad, but the fans had no other way to express their disappointment at having to see this match.
The Rumble comes and the fans are into it completely, with only a few minor Bryan chants throughout. #29 hits and Big E. comes out and the fans get very excited and start chanting Yes!. Then the WWE sacrifices Rey Mysterio to the wolves....which is a bad break for Rey and I feel bad for him, but it's entirely the WWE's fault. After Rey entered, I just lost complete interest in everything that happened from there. I just couldn't believe the WWE had no real plan for Bryan from the time Summerslam ended until now. It was great to see Reigns make the final 2, but as a huge fan of Daniel Bryan (probably my favorite wrestler since Shawn Michaels), I just was astounded the WWE dropped the ball so bad. It has made me apathetic to the product right now and I am not sure I can continue on when the main event of Wrestlemania just doesn't interest me in any way whatsoever. The WWE has always been the be all and end all for me, but to see this same old, same old year in and out has drained the life out of my fandom. They have me still, but only by a thread. I hope they find a way to make this right.

That Mysterio comment was right on the nose. I'd love of dreaded getting that spot this year when everyone knew it'd be a suicide run. Even as a huge Batista fan that was just a awful choice that ruined what was a pretty great Rumble until that point. I still think they'll get Bryan into the title match somehow. Maybe have him win the money in the bank and cash in for the title match later that show. Still just a bad decision by creative.

CM Punk, who did not appear at last night's RAW, also did not appear at tonight's SmackDown taping in Toledo, Ohio, despite being advertised for the event. WWE has since removed Punk from almost all of their upcoming live events and television tapings on the events section of their website, although he remains on the Elimination Chamber page. It is not known at this time if Punk is injured, or if something else is going on. The last tweet that he posted on Monday night stated, "Thanks for all the support. Keep being you guys, it's pretty cool." Punk's contract is up in July, and he stated in an interview last week that he doesn't know if he will re-sign after it expires, and that "everything is up in the air." UPDATE: F4WOnline.com reports that Punk apparently told Vince McMahon at last night's RAW that he was going home and left the show. No further details were available other then that he's been removed from all shows going forward. Honestly, tough to blame him...they seem to have no real direction for him right now. But he did sign a contract...

Some WWE news (potential spoilers)
Spoiler: click to toggle - Quote:
-
- The latest on Sting is that he still has not signed but the general feeling is that it's a foregone conclusion that he's coming in. While he's not expected to be rushed into a match at WrestleMania XXX, word is that the working idea right now is for Sting to possibly be the new RAW General Manager. - With the drama that has unfolded within WWE in the past week, WWE creative is now looking at several different options for WrestleMania XXX. The first is a Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H match with possibly the stipulation that Bryan gets a WWE World Heavyweight Title shot at Extreme Rules in Seattle. If Bryan ends up working Triple H at WrestleMania, they may put Sheamus in a match with Kane. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt and Batista vs. Randy Orton would still happen. Another option is John Cena vs. Triple H, Sheamus vs. Bray Wyatt and Orton vs. Batista vs. Bryan in a three-way for the belt. The other option they are looking at is Sheamus vs. Triple H, Cena vs. Wyatt and Bryan vs. Orton vs. Batista in a three-way. Read more at http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2014/0201/569838/possible-raw-role-for-sting/#3mzyMESVjRG5B5ls.99
Sting as Raw GM sounds like a terrible idea to me....on the other hand, those 3 Wrestlemania possibilities seem good to me now. It sure looks like Bryan will be world champ by no later than ER now. - Quote:
