If I thought it would be Taker's last match I will end up flying to California myself.

Batista recently spoke with The Washington Post to promote WrestleMania XXX. Below are some highlights:

Returning as a babyface:
"They told me that I was going to come back and be this huge babyface. I said, 'no, it's not going to work.' They said, 'no way, they're dying for you to come back.' I said, 'that's going to last two minutes, just watch.' And sure enough it did."

They are so out of touch with what the audience thinks...

There is a user on Reddit's wrestling subsection that is a former staffer with some deep inside knowledge of the product as of late. He has been 100% verified, so clearly he knows what he speaks of when it comes to stuff like that. An interesting note, was that after the HHH "burial" promo video from Monday, he/she said that it made perfect sense, and that it seems to him that the chant is way more over than the wrestler.

Obviously this is not the case, and anyone who saw the Royal Rumble, and the cage match on Raw before then knows that Bryan is the one the crowd wants, and it was quickly pointed out to this person.

Clearly the problem, is that the writing process and backstage element are so insulated to the outside world, and the "no marks allowed" attitude that leaves everyone jaded with the genre, causes this bubble to form around the product, and keeps those inside of it incapable of seeing what the crowd really likes, and what they are "just chanting for".

The problem is, the people are "just chanting for" what they really like! And if you come in with a holier-than-thou attitude about what is good and bad, and plug your ears to the feedback, you will end up with something like the HIMYM finale, instead of the great, compelling product of the past that keeps fans coming back to this day.

Wrestlezone reports that according to WWE sources, a segment was reportedly pitched to Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk for WrestleMania 30. The segment was said to be based around its ending, which would see Austin giving Punk a stunner to set up a match at WrestleMania 31. There's been no word on whether or not either man agreed to the angle. Punk was previously spotted in the Chicago area last night for an Against Me! concert.

In addition, many in the WWE are currently under the impression that The Rock will be flying to New Orleans on Sunday to be featured in a WrestleMania segment as well.

From everything I have heard, this ain't happening, but I wouldn't mind if it did.

Some WWE news after Wrestlemania...

Quote:

STAMFORD, Conn., April 7, 2014 – WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that WWE Network has 667,287[1] subscribers and is well on its way to reaching its goal of 1 million subscribers by the end of 2014 just 42 days after launching in the U.S., making it the fastest-growing digital subscription service.
Read more at http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2014/0407/572930/wwe-reveals-number-of-wwe-network-subscribers/#ZD55vmmtFYM1Bzya.99

WWE stock is currently down over $5 per share (over 18%) after WWE released the numbers for the WWE Network this morning. As noted, they are currently at 667,287, not including potential failures to comply with subscription terms and six month commitment.

So it looks like the Network hasn't met expectations yet and the WWE is lying in that press release if the stock is falling.

The Undertaker was taken to a local New Orleans hospital via ambulance after last night's WWE WrestleMania XXX due to the fear that he suffered a concussion and a possible neck injury. F4WOnline.com reports that the last word was that Taker was expected to remain there overnight for observation.

The apparent injury had no bearing on the finish of the match, which ended exactly as planned. The injury is believed to have happened early in the match when Undertaker took a bad fall off a single leg.

Word apparently got out about the finish about an hour before the match, as Brock Lesnar went from a massive underdog to the favorite on gambling sites.

There was a huge "bulls--t" chant that started up after Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX last night after everyone realized what happened. It wasn't until the 21-1 graphic came up that everyone realized The Streak was over. The chant quieted down and most of the crowd just sat there stunned. Taker did get the standing ovation and a "thank you Taker" chant from most but some did boo while this was going on. Multiple sources report that fans were seen leaving and several were seen crying. Taker's loss really brought the live crowd down a notch and they didn't seem to get back into things until well into the main event.

We noted earlier today that Taker was taken to a local hospital last night for fear of a concussion and a neck injury. We also noted that Taker losing was the original plan. This was kept from just about everyone but betting odds started to change shortly before the show began.

It's said that this was indeed The Undertaker's decision. We noted before that back in 2010, Taker wanted Lesnar to be the one to end The Streak. This is not confirmed yet but the impression was given backstage that Taker is done. No word yet on how this changes a potential match with Sting at WrestleMania 31.

It being Taker's decision to lose makes me believe he is definitely done and wanted to give the rub to someone before leaving for good. With how often he gets hurt each WM match, he's making the right call to leave now IMO.

Also Ezekiel Jackson is officially gone from the WWE

The idea of doing The Shield vs. Evolution (Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton) has been pitched, possibly for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view, depending on who challenges Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

There's speculation that we will see an Evolution vs. The Shield War Games match but it probably won't happen. The idea of bringing back War Games has been brought up many times over the years but Vince McMahon always shoots it down.

Sounds like a great idea but I don't think it'll happen because they seem to be going towards Bryan vs HHH and Shield vs Batista/Orton/Kane

Regarding why Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX may have seemed off, it's said that The Undertaker didn't know what they were doing and had to rely on Lesnar to keep them going. Nobody knows exactly where the concussion came but it may have been on the single leg takedown where Taker hit his head on the floor.

There was a lot of talk about Taker's future backstage at WrestleMania and RAW. Nobody knows for sure if that was Taker's last match but it was certainly being talked about like it was.

The concussion being the reason the match sucked makes a lot of sense

When the WWE Network subscriber numbers came out on Monday, there were people within WWE who were surprised and took it as not a good sign. Many in the company were expecting over 1 million subscribers. Apparently there's talk that we may see a price jump to $11.99 or $12.99 per month next year.

- There's now a feeling within WWE that Sting won't be on WWE TV for a long time.

The price jump is not a surprise, and neither is no Sting at this point.

Yeah, Undertaker got his bell rung pretty bad. You could see at the end of the match he was still really out of it, and he even looked pissed a few times. The video of his wife basically having to lead him from the hotel to the tour bus was pretty bad too. I have to think that given the apparent severity of the concussion that even if he did not want that to be his last match, he probably needs to walk away before it's too late to do so.

Extreme Rules is already looking pretty decent from what went down last night. I would be ok with an Orton/Batista/Kane vs. The Shield match as well as Daniel Bryan defending against Triple H, but I do hope that after this Daniel Bryan can move on to other feuds. Hopefully he can carry the title until at least Summer Slam and we can get some great title matches.

And I love the new sig, Mofo.

Referee Chad Patton did not know that The Undertaker would be losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. He was told Taker was winning but the rule every referee is told is that if the guys don't kick out, you continue the count. Right after the match ended, Lesnar whispered in Taker's ear, "Thank you."

Apparently the decision to end The Streak was finalized on March 31st. Only a few people knew the outcome before WrestleMania Sunday. The group of people that knew were most likely Vince McMahon, Taker, Lesnar, Paul Heyman, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. None of the agents were aware. The actual script for the show did not have a finish listed but this didn't raise any red flags because that's not unusual for WrestleMania and it wasn't the only match that didn't have a finish listed.

Whether or not The Undertaker is done, Vince was going on the assumption that this was his last match and he could either win or lose. McMahon chose the idea that it's better to lose on your way out. One person close to the situation said Vince talked Taker into losing. Another person, who would also be in the know, described it as Vince making the call and Taker agreeing, and that he wasn't talked into doing something he didn't want to do. Losing was not Taker's original decision but he was in on it and never protested the decision. Perhaps, like he thought in 2010, if he was going to lose, maybe he thought Lesnar was the guy to lose to.

There were many people within WWE very unhappy about The Streak ending but couldn't say so publicly.

Surprised to read it was Vince who made the decision and not Taker.

The New Age Outlaws will likely be off WWE TV for a while as the loss to The Shield at WrestleMania XXX was the blow-off for their run.

- The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is indeed scheduled to be a WrestleMania tradition going forward. That could end up changing before WrestleMania 31.

- Before WrestleMania XXX, WWE had been planning The Shield vs. Evolution for Extreme Rules. If they go that direction, it's said that Ric Flair will not be a part of the group with Batista, Triple H and Randy Orton.

No surprise they don't want crazy Ric Flair a part of storylines

For those of you that have the WWE Network..I highly reccomend watching the Warrior documentary from last night (part 3 of the series). Was really surreal to see the behind-the-scenes on his last couple of days and how be buried the hatchet with everyone.
