I thought Cena's promo was good and Owens comes off looking strong still. The only way they can ruin his push is for Cena to beat him clean at this point.

WWE will be broadcasting the Tokyo Supershow Live on the WWE Network July 4th at 6:30am/ET.
Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, and John Cena were advertised as the headliners. But most importantly, Kevin Owens will be defending the NXT Title against Finn Balor. Balor made his name in Japan, and it would be hard to see any other result than Balor taking the title at this show.
But man, it sucks for Hideo Itami, it is pretty clear this was supposed to be his moment. Injuries suck.

There have been rumors on Dolph Ziggler being unhappy in WWE for some time but now the rumors are that he's looking to leave the company when his contract is up in a few months.
During a recent episode of MLW Radio, available at this link, former WWE creative writer Court Bauer commented on the rumor, referring to Ziggler leaving like John Morrison did. Morrison now works for Lucha Underground as Johnny Mundo. Bauer said:
"Dolph's deal is up in a few months and he has indicated informally that unless he gets a big push, he may leave like Mundo."

Sheamus winning the WWE Money In the Bank briefcase this year was something planned last year. Sheamus was originally going to turn heel and face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXX but when CM Punk left, plans changed. Sheamus was then supposed to win the briefcase at Money In the Bank but when that match became for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Title, plans changed again and they went with who would be the best person to drop the belt to Brock Lesnar, which was John Cena. When WWE announced the second Money In the Bank match last year, with a title shot at stake, Sheamus had already been announced for the first match and they didn't want to change plans.
That brings us to this year and Sheamus winning the briefcase. With the win, Sheamus is likely to take the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the next year from whichever babyface takes the title from Seth Rollins. If they do go with a babyface taking the title from Rollins, it would mean he turns back to a heel after facing Triple H at SummerSlam as a babyface, or it means the face Rollins vs. heel Triple H feud doesn't happen after all.

This smells of someone like Ambrose winning the title, only for Sheamus to immediately cash in

According to PWInsider, WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler has opted to re-sign with the WWE. This comes after weeks of speculation regarding his contract status, and rumors that he may leave when it expires. Ziggler has vocally expressed his frustration in the past over his position in the company. The two-time former World Heavyweight champion has been paired with Lana for the past month, working a program with the injured Rusev. Ziggler was also one of the primary characters on WWE's new show, Swerved, which premiered this week on the WWE Network. In addition to this, Dolph Ziggler has been heavily featured in the new ads promoting WWE's relationship with Tapout, which is set to kick off next year. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted this week that New Japan Pro Wrestling, TNA Wrestling, as well as numerous other promotions would likely be interested in his services, and he could probably make between $350,000-400,000 per year working a reduced schedule. Dolph Ziggler actually joked about retiring during a stand-up comedy set at The Laugh Factory this week. The Observer also noted that many close to Ziggler said he was considering life without WWE recently, as well. We'll provide more details as they become available. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2015/0626/596665/dolph-ziggler-reportedly-re-signs-with-wwe/

As noted earlier, Tyson Kidd noted on Twitter that only 5% of people survive the type of injury that he suffered in his match with Samoa Joe in early June. Kidd required 16 staples, 4 screws and a rod to be inserted. Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that while only 5% of people survive that injury, the vast majority of those who do survive end up as quadriplegics. Meltzer said that the odds that he is not in a wheelchair "are astronomical," and his injury - while it may not be exactly the same - is similar to Christopher Reeve, who became a quadriplegic after being thrown from a horse in 1995. "It is unbelievable that Tyson Kidd came through as well as he did," Meltzer stated. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2015/0713/598240/news-on-how-serious-tyson-kidd-injury-is/

I wonder what that means for Samoa Joe in the long term. I haven't been watching but it looks like he's still being used.
It really sucks about Kidd. Here was someone who was buried on the card for so long and his pure talent got him a nice spot with Cesaro...just to end up here. I hope he somehow makes a comeback.

– RadarOnline.com has released a report on the developing Hulk Hogan scandal. The alleged racist statements by Hulk Hogan were reportedly made in his unauthorized sex tape with Heather Clem, the ex-wife of Hogan’s former friend Bubba “The Love Sponge.”
The reported vulgar and racist statements were apparently directed at his daughter Brooke, who he accused of sleeping with a black man. Hogan is quoted as saying the following:
”She is making some real bad decisions now. My daughter Brooke jumped sides on me. I spent $2-3 million on her music career, I’ve done everything like a jackass for her. The one option Brooke had, Brooke’s career besides me, is [to] sell beach records.”” They claim Hogan was mad because a “black billionaire guy” had offered to fund her music career. They then quoted Hogan as saying, “I don’t know if Brooke was f*****g the black guy’s son. I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*****g n*****s. But then when it comes to nice people and s***, and whatever.”” They claim he later said, “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*** some n*****, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n***** worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. F*****g n*****.”
The transcripts of the tape were filed in a Florida Court and sealed in order to prevent them from ever being released publicly. However, the contents of the tape still came out from “five independent sources.” RadarOnline is also promising “more” from the tapes to come later on.
Yikes.

According to last week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE was set to introduce a "tough guy character that would out himself as being gay." The character, that wouldn't portray any of the stereotypes, would instead be a dominant, main event character. In this week's Observer, it was said that Brock Lesnar was originally considered for this idea. The plan was thought up by magazine writer Brian Solomon, who brought the idea to Stephanie McMahon personally. The plan for the character was to never do things in or outside of the ring that made fans uncomfortable, and the heels would use him being gay in their promos to get heat. Obviously Lesnar isn't gay, so it'd be simply for the character. The idea was pitched, and the magazine writers responsible never heard anything else about it. The WWE creative team instead heard about the idea and went with the Billy & Chuck angle. Speaking of McMahon, she noted recently that although current WWE Tag Team Champion Darren Young is gay in real life, she doesn't consider his character to be necessarily. It's worth noting that references to his sexuality have been made on Raw and Smackdown Fallout videos on the company's Youtube. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2015/0730/598887/brock-lesnar-was-originally-supposed-to-be-booked-as-a-gay-hero/

That news item is pretty infuriating. The WWE continues to be a bastion for intolerance. It's one of the many reasons why people are embarrassed to call themselves wrestling fans

On Monday night, WWE debuted the name “Submission Sorority” for Paige, Becky Lynch and Charlotte. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks as if the name will be changed. WWE found out that the name was associated with a porn site, and the name may be changed to the “Submission Sisters”. They have toyed with the “Horsewomen” name, but they do not want to step on Ronda Rousey’s toes by using the name.
TMZ has also picked up the story, noting that the search for the team points you to tons of links for a porn series called HazeHer, produced by BangBros. The article ads that BangBros traffic analyst Delilah Mcginnis says their web traffic shot up 56% overnight, and they saw a 35% rise in subscriptions. They plan to send Vince McMahon a thank you gift basket.
That's priceless.
