It's early 1997 and the Monday Night Wars are in full effect. The WWF is pushing Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker. WCW is dominating the ratings battles with the nWo, Sting, and Lex Luger. It looks like it's going to be hard for anyone to jump in and steal any of their thunder... ... Enter ECW: A small upstart company based in Philadelphia and started only 5 years earlier in 1992. With an emphasis on what those other companies are calling "hardcore", Extreme Championship Wrestling has developed what some would call a cult following throughout the northeastern United States. The goal? To compete with the 'big boys'. Can Paul Heyman and company take the same style of wrestling they love and bring it to success on a national scale? Better yet, a world scale? Or will they just be another sacrificial lamb and breeding ground for the big two companies? Only time will tell. Hardcore TV Saturday, February 1st, 1997 Announcer: Joey Styles Joey Styles: Thanks to all who are tuning in as we get you ready for another exciting edition of Hardcore TV. As expected, we have another great show on hand this evening and maybe even a few surprises up our sleeves. I was just speaking with Paul Heyman in the backstage area and he informed me that tonight he was going to shock the world with a big reveal. We can only wait to see exactly what he was talking about, but for now we've got a singles competition between two up and comers that will surely entertain you. Let's get that bout under --... **Styles is interrupted by Raven and his nest coming out to the ring for an impromptu interview.** Raven: I've lived my entire life with feelings of abandonment, feelings of loneliness, feelings of sadness. I have heard that the unfortunate devour themselves, searching for annihilation. Well, I too am searching for annihilation, but I've not yet devoured myself. See, I've got the ECW World Heavyweight Title. And I have no plans of giving it up... But I hear that The Sandman wants to take my belt. I guess that means that I'm just going to have to annihilate him. My fate was determined prior to this critical juncture. My path is chosen as a path of greatness. Sandman, you have been doomed from the beginning. But if you want a shot at me, I will give it to you at Cyberslam. My path cannot be changed. I will forever be champion and you will forever what it's like. You and I on February 23rd. Mark it down and prepare to lose... Quote the Raven, Nevermore. Overall Segment Rating: 76% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: OK, we're back. Sorry about that, sometimes people that feel sorry for themselves need to talk. And what better avenue than ECW Hardcore TV to let them vent? Oh wait, that's not what we're about at all. Now as I was saying before that punk interrupted me, we've got a debut tonight of a young kid fresh off the streets by the name of AJ Styles. I hear he's a very technically gifted athlete, so let's wee what he has in store for us in his Hardcore TV debut. AJ Styles vs Roadkill The match opens with Styles hitting a massive spinning kick to Roadkill's jaw. Roadkill goes down to the mat but recovers quickly just to receive another kick to the stomach followed by a DDT from Styles. After a short time on the mat, Roadkill manages to climb his way up and execute a punch to Styles' face. A quick bodyslam followed by a backbreaker has Roadkill on the offensive. Roadkill goes for the pin, but Styles is able to kick out after only a one count. The two go back and forth for the next bit before Styles executes yet another spinning kick. Styles then crushes Roadkill's chest with an elbow drop, but can only get the two count. As the two climb back to their feet, Roadkill kicks Styles in the gut to take the momentum. Roadkill executes a body slam and goes for a leg drop but Styles moves just in the nick of time and Roadkill lands on his ass. Styles then executes another elbow drop and climbs the turnbuckles. SHOOTING STAR PRESS CONNECTS! 1-2-3 and AJ Styles is your winner. Styles jumps up in victory and leaves through the crowd to celebrate. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 22% Match Quality: 72% Overall Rating: 47% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: Welcome back to Hardcore TV on America One Network. For those of you who are just joining us, you missed the excellent debut of AJ Styles! Now let's get to the backstage area where I understand that Mike Awesome has a few words for us. What have you got to say, Mike? Mike Awesome: Tonight, I've got a match aagainst a little punk by the name of New Jack. I understand he's killed a few people, but I'm not intimidated. I'm awesome, he's not... That's really all you need to know. So am I worried about my match with New Jack? No, absolutely not. I know I will win.. There's not a doubt in my mind. I'll beat New Jack down and then I'll beat Mustafa's ass too. Stay tuned, folks. You're in for a show. Overall Segment Rating: 52% Joey Styles: OK... Folks, that was Mike Awesome giving us absolutely no substance... Way to waste our time, Mike. Still to come, hopefully, is the big surprise that Paul E. Heyman promised so don't touch that dial. Now let's cut to some words from Dave Thomas and our friends at Wendy's. **Commercial Break** Mike Awesome vs New Jack Awesome is introduced first, followed quickly by New Jack... But as New Jack steps into the ring, Awesome immediately goes on the offensive hitting him with a chair that he'd been holding. Awesome continues to beat New Jack repeatedly with the chair before appearing bored and going for a quick pin. New Jack kicks out after the two count, though, and climbs up to go for a running clothesline which Awesome ducks. Awesome executes four quick bunches and a body slam which New Jack recovers from quickly. New Jack then climbs to the top rope and executes his first real offensive maneuver of the match: A flying bulldog. New Jack then goes to the outside and grabs a table which he brings in to the ring. He lifts up the incapacitated Awesome and scoop slams him through the table. New Jack starts to pump up the crowd and spends a little too long doing so as he allows Awesome to recover and remove the turnbuckle pad. New Jack then notices what's going on, he moves towards Awesome only to be caught off guard, grabbed by the tights and slingshot face first into the exposed turnbuckle. Awesome rolls up the stunned New Jack: 1....2....3!! New jack jumps up quickly and they begin to fight again... Into the crowd and into the backstage area. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 53% Match Quality: 73% Overall Rating: 63% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: And we're back. Midnight is quickly approaching, though, and still no word from Heyman about the big surprise. I guess we'll just be left to -- OH MY GOD! COMING TO THE RING! IT'S PAUL ELLERING! **Paul Ellering walks from the backstage area to the ring.** Paul Ellering: ECW fans, I cannot think of a better place to be on a Saturday night in February than Philadelphia! It's been too long since I've been here, but hopefully we never go quite that long again. Me personally, I'm from Minnesota so this "cold" does not phase me. I've rode bikes through subzero temperatures, this shit is nothing. But now for the real reason I'm here... I've got some old friends that are interested in coming back to Philadelphia as well... We've done lots of damage together through the years winning championships in every company that's been unfortunate enough to welcome us and give us a check. But I realized that there was one company that we hadn't wreaked havoc on... Some titles that haven't been around the waists of greatness.. And believe me, the ECW belts have not yet been around the waists of greatness: I'm talking to you, Saturn and Kronus. So it's coming, THEY are coming... And when they do, it'll be one hell of a RUSH! Overall Segment Rating: 70% Joey Styles: OH MY GOD! DOES THAT MEAN WHAT I THINK IT MEANS? LOD IN ECW?! WE ARE OUT OF TIME, WHAT A RUSH! Overall Show Rating: 59% Television Rating: 0.11 |

Hardcore TV Saturday, February 8st, 1997 Announcer: Joey Styles Joey Styles: Good evening to all the fans watching us tonight on America One Network. We have another top notch show on deck tonight, and I for one cannot wait. When we concluded last week, Paul Ellering came out and gave us all the huge news that the Legion of Doom were planning on joining us here in ECW. I understand that Ellering and at least one half of LOD are here tonight. But that's enough talk, let's get straight to the action! Balls Mahoney vs Brian Lee The match opens up with a staredown between the two competitors as they size each other up. But as "Prime Time" Brian Lee moves in for a grapple, Mahoney surprises him with a quick head butt. The two exchange a series of punches before Lee goes to the outside to recover. Whiel on the ouside he grabs a chair and throws it in to the ring, but Mahoney grabs it before Lee can get back in the ring and begins to hit him with it. After 5 or so shots from the chair to the head, Mahoney drops the chair and picks Lee up for a body slam. As Lee recovers and gets back to his feet, Mahoney places him in a headlock which Lee is able to power out of with ease. Lee throws Mahoney into the ropes and spears him as he comes back around. Lee goes for an elbrow drop, but Mahoney rolls out of the way leaving a dazed Lee laying on the ground. Mahoney pulls Lee up and executes the Nutcracker Suite followed by a pin. 1...2...3! It's over! Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 48% Match Quality: 74% Overall Rating: 54% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: And we're back on Hardcore TV! Mahoney really showed he can take a beating as well as dish one out in that last match, didn't he? Now let's take a second to go backstage where I understand Paul Ellering is with one half of LOD! Paul Ellering w/ Hawk: Kronus and Saturn, this is officially your notice: The Legion of Doom has arrived, and are prepared to take the ECW World Tag Team titles from around your waists. Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal have been watching and taking notice of you two wannabes trying to emulate their power attack, and don't plan to sit by and take it anymore. They want you and they want those tag team title belts. So come Cyberslam, look out. Now as for tonight, I told the boys to stay back and let me handle the fun leading up to your match, but Hawk just couldn't take staying away. He wants a match against one of the toughest men in ECW to show you what kind of hell you'll be exposed to come Cyberslam. That's why later this evening, Hawk will be facing off against Sabu! Pay close attention, boys... You're next. Overall Segment Rating: 65% Joey Styles: My God! Hawk and Sabu in singles competition tonight? Keep tuned in to Hardcore TV on America One! You never know what's going to happen next! **Commercial Break** Chris Candido vs Lance Storm Candido and Storm circle each other in the ring, looking for the opportunity to attack. Candido strikes first, diving at Storm's knees and taking his legs out from under him. Storm jumps up quickly and connects with a right hand followed by a dropkick which knocks Canido to the ground. Storm pins Candido immediately but only gets a two count. The two men climb to their feet, and Candido slips behind Storm to connect with a German suplex. It's now Candido's turn to try for a pin, but he also just gets the quick two. Candido then climbs to the second rope and waits for Storm to get to his feet. Once he does, Candido jumps off with a back heel kick taking Storm out yet again. This move seems to ahve taken the wind out of both competitors as they spend the next several seconds on the ground. As they begin to rise, Storm kicks Candido in the gut and takes the momentum. This gut kick is followed by a dropkick. This match has been a constant back and forth effort with both men displaying some amazing technical wrestling... But that all ends up with a Lance Storm cheapshot low blow taking all the wind out of Candido's sails. From there, it's easy for Storm to place Candido in the Canadian Maple Leaf and force the submission. After the match, Candido reaches his hand out to this on again/off again partner hoping for a handshake and friendly gesture to close out a great amtch. Storm shakes his head at Candido's gesture and walks to the backstage area. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 28% Match Quality: 84% Overall Rating: 50% **Commercial Break** Hawk vs Sabu Hawk enters the ring to a huge eruption from the crowd, followed by Sabu who received a pop almost just has loud. This match from the get-go had no signs of being anything other than an absolute brawl. Hawk landed the first blow, striking Sabu in the temple with back to back right hands. Hawk then executed a running clothesline knocking Sabu to the ground very briefly. Sabu jumped back to his feet and gave Hawk an elbow of his own to the temple. Sabu catches the dazed Hawk with a body slam and quick pin which Hawk was able to kick out of with relative ease. As the two men stand, Hawk kicks Sabu in the stomach and executes a spine buster. Hawk waits for Sabu to get up and then hits him with a Hangman's Neckbreaker which appears to have knocked Sabu out. Hawk goes for the pin and gets the three count right before the awakening Sabu kicks out. A big win in Hawk's ECW debut, but it was apparent he was missing his partner, Animal. Hawk then goes from turnbuckle to turnbuckle raising his arms and celebrating with the crowd. Paul Ellering nods approvingly outside of the ring. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 66% Match Quality: 68% Overall Rating: 60% **Commercial Break** Rob Van Dam vs Shane Douglas ECW World Television Title Match Douglas begins the match with a forearm to RVD's face. Douglas then fires off a series of right and left hands, knocking RVD to the ground. Douglas goes for a quick pin, but RVD kicks out after only a one count. As the two men rise, Douglas executes a huge clothesline. RVD recovers quickly and avoids a wild right hand to execute a spinning kick. Van Dam then jumps to the top rope to execute a flying cross body on the rising Douglas. But Douglas is able to recover rather quickly and executes a power bomb on the showboating RVD. Douglas then whips a staggering RVD into the corner where the referee gets sandwiched. Douglas pulls a set of brass knuckles out of his trunks and proceeds to beat RVD with them repeatedly. Douglas then goes for the pinfall which the dazed referee sees and makes the 3 count. Shane Douglas then runs out before RVD awakes to avoid any potential payback. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 58% Match Quality: 75% Overall Rating: 59% Joey Styles: And that's all the time we have here tonight on the America One Network. Thank you all for tuning in. Don't forget to join us next Saturday at 11 pm. This is our last show before the Cyberslam event on the 23rd, so it's sure to be a great one. Thanks again, and goodnight! Hardcore TV Saturday, February 15st, 1997 Announcer: Joey Styles Joey Styles: Good evening to all of you and welcome to yet another edition of Hardcore TV on the America One Network. Tonight's a big night for us here at ECW, as we gear up for next week's Cyberslam event. Cyberslam is one of the most popular events we hold annually, and this year should to be no different with a very exciting card prepared. But that's still a week away and we've got a hell of a show tonight as well... But before the matches get under way, I'd like to show you some footage that was just shot right backstage right before we came on the air... This is pretty vicious so if you are squeamish... Well, if you are squeamish you shouldn't be watching ECW anyways! Take a look at this: **Tape from Backstage Encounter Begins to Play** Paul Ellering is backstage getting ready for his show opening promo to promote the Legion of Doom/Eliminators match at Cyberslam. As he gets ready to exit the locker room, John Kronus busts in with a baseball bat. He proceeds to beat Paul Ellering with the bat repeatedly, screaming about how he needed to be taught a lesson and to stop bashing The Eliminators. After the beatdown went on 40 seconds or so, Kronus left the room, audibly laughing as he walked away. Road Warrior Hawk is then seen walking into the room, spotting his friend and manager laying on the floor. He calls for help from off-camera Animal, but by this point it's too late. Kronus is long gone. Overall Segment Rating: 54% **Camera Fades Back to Styles** Joey Styles: Fans, I understand that you are concerned about Ellering's well-being. The only update that I have right now is that Paul did suffer some internal bleeding, but he's at the hospital now with Hawk & Animal by his side. He is expected to make a full recovery, but may miss Saturday's event unfortunately. But in the meantime, we'll take a commercial break. Don't touch that dial, Hardcore TV will be back very shortly! **Commercial Break** Chris Candido vs AJ Styles Candido and Styles are two of the best technical wrestlers in ECW today, and this match did not disappoint in that regard. From the very beginning, it was a back and forth battle between the two of them, very difficult for either to gain an upper hand. Styles opened up with a spinning kick to the jaw, followed by a dropkick. But only moments later it was Candido on the offensive with a dropkick to the knee of Styles. While Styles was trying to sit up, Candido connected with a kick to the face that looked like it may have broken Styles' nose. Blood flew everywhere, but that doesn't stop an ECW bout! The back and forth continued with a power bomb by Candido followed by a hip toss by Styles. But suddenly as this near perfect match almost continued, Lance Storm came down the aisle out of nowhere. Storm grabs a chair and looks to try to hit Candido with it as Styles throws him into the ropes, but Candido reverses the irish whip and shoots Styles into the ropes instead to take the hit from the chair... It was a definite case of wrong place/wrong time for the young one. Candido stared Storm down on the outside, shook his head in hesitation and then pinned Styles for the 1-2-3. He then jumps outside the ring, grabs a steel chair and chases Storm to the backstage area with it. Moments later, camera crews caught up with Candido saying that he was tired of the antics of his one time partner and demanding a match at Cyberslam. It's unknown at this point whether Storm will accept the challenge or not. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 55% Match Quality: 89% Overall Rating: 64% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: And we're back on Hardcore TV! That last match was excellent with its in-ring storytelling. AJ Styles is truly a rising star in our sport, and I look forward to watching him grow over the next several years. But that's enough of that sappy stuff, our World Television Champion is on his way to the ring. Let's see what he has to say. **Shane Douglas Enters the Ring** Shane Douglas: Last week, I beat Rob van Dam. This week, nobody wanted to face me. Why is that? Why is it that the FRANCHISE cannot get a match? Maybe it's because I'm too good. Maybe it's because at this point I've beaten everyone there is to beat. But what fun is being a champion if there's no competition for your crown? What point is being the best if you don't get to display it on a weekly basis. Is there not ANYONE in the backstage area who can challenge me for this belt? I've taken on all challengers, and yet nobody can really make me work. It's getting too easy, it's almost not fun anymore. Someone PLEASE come out here and give me something to look forward to. Anybody at all? Let's make a date for Cyberslam. **Ken Shamrock Walks out of Crowd Into the Ring** "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock sizes Douglas up before spearing him and going on the attack. Countless amounts of punches are thrown by Shamrock on Douglas' limp body as he lays on the ground. Shamrock then grabs ahold of Douglas' ankle and applies an ankle lock. The fans watch and listen in horror as Douglas screams in pain. Shamrock then releases the hold, grabs the Television Championship and microphone and accepts Douglas' challenge for a title match at Cyberslam. Overall Segment Rating: 81% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for remaining tuned in to Hardcore TV on America One. If you're just joining us you just missed the surprise debut of Ken Shamrock, The World's Most Dangerous Man. I had no idea that Shamrock was going to be here, nor did our live audience. This is the kind of surprise you'll get week after week if you keep tuning in. Now let's head back to the ring for another big match. The Pitbulls vs Sabu and Rob Van Dam The match starts with Sabu taking an old-fashioned ass beating from Pitbull 1. Pitbull 1 goes for a quick pin, but it's going to take more than a 30 second ass kicking to take Sabu down... He's a mad man afterall. Pitbull 2 then tags in to the match and the two Pitbulls gang up on Sabu. Curiously, RVD just sits watching from the outside... A very distant look in his eyes. After a double suplex from the Pitbulls to Sabu, he somehow musters up the strength to get to the corner and tag in his teammate, RVD. Hesitant, RVD jumps in to the ring and dropkicks Pitbull 2's knees out from under him. Pitbull 1 enters the ring and slams RVD into the to the mat. RVD crawls over and tags to Sabu. Sabu comes in to the ring and starts to clean house of both Pitbulls. As RVD regains his strength, he asks Sabu to hold Pitbull 1 so he can prepare for a clothesline. However, as RVD comes off the ropes, Pitbull 1 is able to duck and RVD mistakenly clotheslines Sabu instead. RVD looks on, apparently shocked at what he has done. This gives Pitbull 1 the opportunity that he has waited for: He picks Sabu up and goes for the Super Bomb. 1...2...3! The Pitbulls win... With no effort from RVD at all to break up the pin. RVD looks on as Sabu stands up following the pinfall. The two exchange a stare and then heated words as they head in to the locker room. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 46% Match Quality: 67% Overall Rating: 50% **Commercial Break** Joey Styles: OK fans, thanks for staying with us. During the commercial break, I received word that on the heels of their upset loss to the Pitbulls right before the break, RVD and Sabu have agreed to a match at Cyberslam. Partners 30 minutes ago, rivals now? It's amazing how fast things change in ECW! Wait... I'm getting word that two other superstars are having words backstage... Let's go check it out! **Camera Goes Backstage** The Sandman and Raven are face to face in the backstage area exchanging stares. Sandman then grabbed his Singapore Cane and appeared ready to hit Raven with it, but officials, security guards, and other wrestlers backstage quickly arrived at the scene to defuse the situation. The camera panned to Raven as he began to smile. He then said "I'll see you Saturday, Sandman. Have sweet dreams... Quote the Raven, Nevermore". The camera faded to black and another episode of Hardcore TV was in the history books. Cyberslam Sunday, February 23rd, 1997 Announcer: Joey Styles Joey Styles: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for tuning in to ECW Cyberslam! We have a great show planned for tonight with all of the major titles on the line, plus a plate full of great non-title matches as well. I expect that by the end of the night we'll all be struggling to catch our breath from the excitement that's going to ensue. The full card for tonight's event is: Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm Sabu vs. Rob Van Dam Legion of Doom vs. The Eliminators (ECW Tag Team Title Match) Ken Shamrock vs. Shane Douglas (ECW TV Title Match) Raven vs. The Sandman (ECW World Title Match) Let's get it under way! Wait, Oh My God! It sounds like something is going on backstage. What the hell? **Camera Goes Backstage** Raven, Brian Lee, The Blue Meanie are the rest of Raven's Nest are spotted standing over Sandman while he lays unconscious on the ground. Raven picks him back up and nails him with a DDT on to the concrete ground for good measure. The camera man moves in closer to get a better shot before being spotted by Raven and ran off. Overall Segment Rating: 86% Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm As many of their matches have, the match opens with Candido and Storm sizing up each up the first minute or so. Each competitor is looking for any advantage over their opponent, but they have proven so evenly matched those advantages are not easy to find. Candido manages to strike first, connecting with multiple right hands before Irish whipping Storm into the ropes. As Storm bounces off the ropes, Candido connects with a dropkick knocking Storm to the ground. Storm recovers and executes a spinning kick on Candido. Storm is now on the offensive and hits Candido with a brutal belly to belly suplex. Staying on the attack, Storm stomps the dazed Candido on the ground. Going for the pin, though, Storm is only able to get a two count before Candido is able to get a shoulder up. Both wrestlers are able to climb back to their feet, and Candido manages to hit a neckbreaker out of nowhere. Candido then climbs to the top rope and executes a diving headbutt. Going for the pin... 1...2...3! Chris Candido wins! Candido begins to celebrate his victory while Storm pounds the mat with repetitive punches shouting about how it's his time. The two share a stare as Candido walks his way up the ramp. This one has the appearance that it may not be over just yet. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 77% Match Quality: 91% Overall Rating: 84% Joey Styles: Now that was a hell of a match. Let's keep the action moving with another one! Rob Van dam vs. Sabu These tag team partners have had their differences lately as evidenced by last week's botched match against The Pitbulls... But while it looked like that may be a one-off mistake, Sabu has a fire in his eyes and it looks obvious that he wants RVD's blood. The bell rings and RVD quickly knocks Sabu to the ground with a mule kick. RVD lifts Sabu back to his feet, only to dropkick him back down. It looks like deja vu as RVD again pulls Sabu back to his feet just to dropkick his knee out from under him. Never to stay down long, though, Sabu jumps to his feet and hits RVD with back to back kicks to the gut. Sabu then exits the ring and grabs a garbage can which he brings back in to the ring and smashes RVD over the head with it. Sabu climbs up to the top rope, looking like he may be going for a somersault leg drop, but RVD jumps to his feet and knocks Sabu off the ropes and to the concrete outside. The two competitors then begin fighting on the outside going back and forth with chairshots. The referee is finally able to get the two back into the ring but RVD connects with another spinning heel kick knocking his partner to the mat. RVD then positions a steel chair on Sabu's chest, climbs to the top rope, and perfectly hands the Five-Star Frog Splash. This move temporarily incapacitates RVD as well, but he is able to recover to make the pin. 1...2...3! RVD wins! But you would not have known the match was over at this point... Instead of celebrating or shaking his teammates hand, RVD climbed to the top and landed the Frog Splash again. Laying immobile on the ground, RVD simply smiled and ran to the backstage. Once the referee is able to maintain control, it's Hawk and Saturn in the ring to begin the bout. The two exchange blows before Hawk executes a body slam and tags out to Animal. Animal enters the ring with a running clothesline on Saturn as he is standing. Animal looks to the crowd and begins to pose, but he's a little too close to the Eliminators corner and Kronus comes off the top rope with a bulldog taking the big man down to the mat. It's now The Eliminators turn to do some damage. As Animal climbs back to his feet, Saturn hits him with a brainbuster and follows this up with multiple kicks to Animal as he lays on the ground. Saturn tags out to Kronus who wants to continue to go to work on Animal, but he's met in the ring by Hawk who is prepared to defend his partner. Hawk hits an Irish Whip and arm drag as Kronus bounces off the ropes. By this point, Animal is back on his feet. The Road Warriors look at each other, knowing what's coming next. Animal lifts Kronus up on his shoulders as Hawk climbs to the top rope. DOOMSDAY DEVICE! Animal scores the 3 count on Kronus as Hawk fights off Saturn on the outside. But the pin does not stop this brawl, the two teams continue fighting long after the bell. Animal is heard screaming "This is for Paul, you son of a bitch!" as he stomped Kronus. The teams continue to fight until security and other officials are able to come out and separate them. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 75% Match Quality: 81% Overall Rating: 78% **Ken Shamrock is spotted warming up backstage** Ken Shamrock vs. Shane Douglas Douglas opens the match with back-to-back chops to the chest of Shamrock. Douglas then Irish whips Shamrock in to the ropes and hits an elbow to the face. Dazed but still somehow on his feet, Douglas hits him with a spinning neckbreaker. As Shamrock lays on the ground, Douglas goes for a leg drop but MISSES. Shamrock climbs to his feet and begins stomping Douglas before walking away and allowing him to get back to his feet. As Douglas climbs back up, Shamrock kicks him in the gut and hits a huge powerbomb. This looks like it may have hurt Douglas, but the match will continue. Shamrock goes for the pin but gets only a two-count. Shamrock begins to argue with the referee, believing the count was too slow but this proves to be a big mistake as Douglas is able to recover and hit Shamrock with a Death Valley Driver. From there it's back and forth some more with each competitor showing of the moves in their arsenal. Douglas hits a snap suplex and pulls brass knuckles out of his tights as the referee is distracted. he then pounds Shamrock in the temple a couple of times before throwing the weapon out on to the floor. Douglas then goes for the pin and gets the 1-2-3. Douglas grabs his belt, jumps out of the ring, and runs out of the arena. The referee stands over Shamrock checking on him, but thankfully it looks like Ken's OK. Then Ken gets to his feet and attacks the referee who is checking on him an trying to explain what happens. Shamrock puts the ref in the ankle lock and refuses to let go until he is granted a rematch. Paul Heyman runs out to stop the situation. He tells Shamrock that he will get a rematch, but if he ever touches an ECW referee like that again his ass will be on the street again. Spoiler: click to toggle Crowd Reaction: 78% Match Quality: 86% Overall Rating: 82% Raven vs. The Sandman There is no love lost between these two competitors, with Sandman definitely not forgetting what Raven and his Nest did to him earlier in the night. The match starts before the bell rings with Sandman hitting Raven over the head with his Singapore Cane. Raven recovers, though, and hits Sandman with a body slam. He then proceeds to smack Sandman around a little, telling him how he's not good enough to be champion and doesn't deserve to be in the same ring. Raven then lifts Sandman back up and puts him in a headlock, but Sandman is somehow able to power out of it. At this time, "Prime Time" Brian Lee is spotted coming down the entrance way. He's one of the members of Raven's Nest and was partly responsible for the beating Sandman took earlier in the evening. Sandman does not see him coming as he is still attempto fight Raven off... Lee sneaks up behind him and hits the Prime Time Slam before leaving the ring. The damage is done, Raven makes the cover and receives the easy 3 count. The match is over, but Lee comes back into the ring and starts beating on Sandman again. Referees run in from the back, but Raven fights them off. Lee eventually leaves the ring, allowing medics to attend to Sandman... But he's no longer moving. The cameras fade out, and the show is over. I have to disagree. I think hot shotting the belts onto a well known, world famous tag team is a good move for a company trying to get on the map and compete with the big two. I'm wondering how the hell RVD and Sabu got such bad ratings... |

I assume Sabu just botched every spot. Good show, and I really like your booking. You've brought in new stars, but you put Douglas over Shamrock which is a fascinating feud. I just wish Candido/Storm and RVD/Sabu weren't running at the same time since they feel a little similar. I'm also a little iffy on bringing AJ Styles in this early, but I won't let it take away from an enjoyable read. Good job. |

Nice stuff Josh...love a good ECW diary. I agree with MPH on the LOD. They fit ECW's style well and will bring a lot of value to the ECW tag titles as well as the ECW's popularity. Great first big event, looking forward to what's to come. |

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I sliced one of my fingers open on a razor blade last night and can't type very well, so I'll probably take a couple of days off before any new posts. I may do a couple of little things, but likely no more shows for a few days. |
