WCW Tuesday Nitro October 23, 2001 LIVE from the First Union Center in Philadelphia, PA Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti The Nitro opened kicked things off and Tenay & Gilberti welcomed us to the show as we were under 2 weeks away from the BIGGEST Battle Royal any company has to offer - World War 3! And the prize is a shot at the biggest PPV event of the year - Starcade 2001! Our Board of Directors Hulk Hogan made his way down to the ring to a big pop from the Philly crowd. Hogan played to the crowd in his suit as he entered the ring and did the standard Hogan poses for the crowd. Hogan then took the microphone and hyped up World War 3 and what it meant for the winner and how difficult it was to eliminate 59 other people to walk out as World War 3 champion. But Hogan wanted to make this World War 3 even more special and up the stakes for all those involved. He has gone out and made a huge signing...and to do this, he went outside the wrestling world...the man he has signed to a contract to fight in World War 3 is a former UNDISPUTED Champion. Not in the wrestling world but in the BOXING world! That man was none other than... Lennox Lewis! The boxing superstar Lennox Lewis made his way down to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Lewis entered the ring and shook hands with Hogan. Lewis thanked Hogan for the opportunity and said he was looking forward to adding a new sport to his resume and also adding another TITLE to the resume. After all, the winner of World War 3 gets a title shot at Starcade. Lewis said he would love nothing more than to win World War 3 and then headline yet another PPV - but this time against someone like STING! Hogan said as much as he hated to admit it - a fight between Sting and Lennox Lewis would certainly bring the eyes to WCW. A Severe STORM Warning has been issued for Philadelphia, PA! Lance Storm and The Storm Foundation made his way down to the ring to boos from the crowd! Storm did not look pleased at all as he made a B-Line for the ring. Storm took a microphone of his own and said he Hogan NEEDED to get serious for a moment. But his eyes had to be deceiving him...was Hogan REALLY going to bring down WCW's reputation by having a 'celebrity' involved in a match to determine the main event of the biggest PPV in Wrestling? Storm reminded us of the LAST time a celebrity got involved with the world title... Lewis said he was not a celebrity, he was a world class athlete that would have no problem knocking Lance Storm out! Storm didn't really care what Lewis had to say - but instead he wanted to go back to what he was saying about headling Starcade against Sting - but Lewis seems to have forgotten that it won't be Sting defending the title at Starcade - it will be LANCE STORM! Storm then asked where Lewis was from... Lewis responded saying he was a dual citizen of Canada and British. Storm seemed outraged - DUAL citizen? DUAL? Storm called him a disgrace - he told Lewis that if he couldn't pick a side, Storm would do it for him. Canada wants NOTHING to do with him. Lewis said he had heard enough talk from Lance Storm and said he was about ready to bust his head in. Andrew Martin and Devon Storm stepped up behind Lance, and Hogan quickly put a stop to any fighting before it began. But Hogan said if Lewis wanted to get his feet wet in the WCW ring - he could arrange that...in a 6 man tag match in tonight's main event! Lewis said he was down with that because Hogan had just the two partners for Lewis... The Wolfpack music hit bringing out the WCW Tag Team Champions - The Outsiders! Storm and the Storm Foundation did not seem pleased, but tonight's main event was set as former Undisputed Boxing Champion Lennox Lewis would join WCW Tag Champions The Outsiders to take on the Storm Foundation! (80%) ----- The Tennessee Outlaws (w/Trinity) vs. 3 Count (w/Tank Abbott & Shannon Moore) The hard hitting southern boys weret aking on the pretty boys of the boy band 3 count with their biggest fan Tank Abbott at ringside along with Shannon Moore. Immediately with two extra people at ringside - the numbers were unevened for the Tennessee Outlaws - but that didn't stop them from trying to beat the tar out of Karagias and Matthews in the ring. In fact, Harris and Wolfe dominated most of the match, but everytime they almost had the nearfall - Moore or Abbott would be there to cause a distraction to prevent the Outlaws from getting the victory. Trinity tried to help out, but she actually only caused for more distraction...allowing Tank Abbott to hit a knock out punch to Chris Harris! Karagias made the cover as Matthews hit a dropkick to Wolfe off the apron! One, Two, Three! WINNERS - 3 Count by pinfall via interference (74/61/88) Shannon Moore and Tank Abbott entered the ring as the brawl between the two teams continued. Trinity climbed to the top turnbuckle and flew off the ropes hitting a flying head scissors to Shannon Moore! Trinity then popped back up to her feet and approached Tank Abbott from behind...she pulled down Abbott's shorts revealing his boxer's to the crowd! The surprised Abbott tripped over his own shorts as Wolfe and Harris battled back and cleared the ring of Karagias and Matthews! Despite the loss, The Tennessee Outlaws and Trinity stood tall in the ring! ----- A Statement Made Former WCW Champion Booker T made his way down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd. Booker climbed into the ring and stated his case for what was wrong with last week's title match - but said that he had to turn his attention forward towards World War 3...where he would earn himself a spot in the Starcade Main Event that way. Booker said if anyone can take out 59 other men - it'd have to be someone who grew up on the Streets of Harlem like himself. So Sting should enjoy the WCW title while he can...because soon the title will be back around Booker T's waist...now can you dig that.... The Wall suddenly attacked Booker T from behind! Mike Sanders made his way down to the ring as Mike Awesome also entered the ring and joined in the attack! Booker T tried to fight back against the surprise attack from the two giant Towers of Terror, but the numbers were too much! The Wall lifted up Booker T by the throat and drove him into the mat with the Chokeslam! Mike Sanders took the microphone and said that his Towers of Terror made a statement tonight. If they can do this to the most recent WCW World Champion - who can possibly stop them?! World War 3 will be their battleground and the rest of WCW will be causalties of war! (81%) ----- Jamie Noble vs. Chavo Guerrero (w/KroniK) Jamie Noble has been impressing a lot lately in his Cruiserweight matches, and has picked up quite a few wins recently with his new Hog Tie finisher - but how would he fair against the former Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero as he prepares for his rematch with Rey Mysterio Jr? He certainly put up a great match with Chavo as the cruiserweight division just can't go wrong with match quality. Chavo and Noble work amazingly together and put on another great match. However, with KroniK at ringside - the odds were certainly stacked against Noble. But Noble gave it his all but eventually Chavo was able to ground Noble and lay him out with a brainbuster before finishing Noble off with the Frog Splash for the surprisingly clean three count victory without the use of KroniK at ringside. Chavo celebrated his victory, sendign a message to his opponent Rey Mysterio. WINNER - Chavo Guerrero by pinfall (91/82/100) ----- Back in the Title Hunt Ric Flair and Curt Hennig of the Gentlemen's Club made their way down to the ring along with the always beautiful Stacy Keibler. Flair took the microphone and gave us a few WOO's which were greeted by some repeat WOO's from the crowd but mostly boos. Flair said that it gave him GREAT pleasure to know that now that the WCW World Title was no longer around Booker T's waist - he could get back in the title picture. Gone was that little stipulation saying that he couldn't receive another title shot as long as Booker T was champion. So what better way to get back into the title hunt than by taking part in World War 3! He said that he was proud of Sting for winning the title back for the Gentlemen's Club, but he even with the title being on a close, personal friend like Sting - he still had to give it his all to win the title back again. He knew Sting would feel the same way - that's what makes the Gentlemen's Club who they are. And Flair said that with Hennig and Jidnrak also in World War 3...together they would use their number game to their advantage. "SELF HIGH FIVE" Diamond Dallas Page made his way down to the ring, sliding in and confronted Flair and Hennig. Flair said that Page had a lot of balls coming out here without any kind of backup. Page said that he had a problem with Flair acting like he was just going to come out for World War 3 and just breeze through 59 other people...but Page is one of those 59 and it WON'T be that easy! Scott Steiner's sirens played - bring Big Poppa Pump himself down to the ring. He joined the fun, agreeing with Page that he certainly wasn't going to let The Gentlemen's Club just waltz through to the finish line. Hulk Hogan walked out from the back and onto the stage and said if you four boys want to do all the talking - how about he just make a tag match for RIGHT NOW! Flair and Hennig against DDP and Steiner! (93%) ----- Diamond Dallas Page & "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner vs. Ric Flair & Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) So with a match with a lot of World War 3 bragging rights on the line - Steiner teamed with a former advesary in DDP to take on mutual enemies - The Gentlemen's Club's Flair & Hennig. Despite not being familiar with tagging with one another - Page and Steiner seemed to work well together as a team and looked fluid against Flair & Hennig. However eventually Flair and Hennig isolated Page and worked him over as the face-in-peril. Flair and Hennig took turns laying out the punishment to DDP and keeping him from making the hot tag to Steiner. Each time Flair or Hennig went for the pin - Steiner was there to break it up. Finally Page came off the ropes against Hennig and they laid each other out with a double clothesline! The race was on to make the hot tag - and they made it at the same time. Steiner came in and Flair immediately regreted getting that hot tag as he tried to retreat, but Steiner wouldn't think of letting him do that. Steiner worked over Flair and hit him with a back suplex. Hennig tried to help out his partner, but Steiner laid him out with a Steinerline! Steiner continued to issue a beating to Flair before Flair was able to get another tag to Hennig. Hennig did not fair much better against Steiner, and would eventually get hit with an Exploder Suplex! Steiner then locked in the Steiner Recliner to Hennig! Flair entered the ring and tried to break up the submission, but Page came from behind - spun Flair around - DIAMOND CUTTER to Flair! With Flair laid out - Hennig gave in to the submission! WINNERS - DDP & Steiner by submission (82/88/70) The crowd gave Page and Steiner a standing ovation as they celebrated their victory over the Gentlemen's Club in the ring. ----- Unwelcome? Backstage, Lennox Lewis was being welcomed to WCW by several stars including Rey Mysterio Jr., Billy Kidman, Juventud Guerrera, and Shane Helms. But as Lewis got done shaking Rey Mysterio's hand - none other than "The Icon" Sting himself approached Lennox Lewis and stopped him in his tracks. Sting grabbed Lewis' hand and the two just stared each other down briefly. Sting said he heard earlier that Lewis was hoping to get a title shot against "The Icon" Sting at Starcade. Sting said that he could not deny that a match with his name on it against someone like Lennox Lewis would certainly bring in possibly a record breaking buyrate and sell out the arena...and Sting certainly would love to take claim to defeating the former Undisputed Champion...but that's the difference between him and Lewis. Lewis is a FORMER champion. Sting is a CHAMPION. Sting told Lewis that he shouldn't be here - he just doesn't belong. Sting walked off without letting Lewis get a word in. (88%) ----- Buff Bagwell vs. Mark Jindrak (w/Stacy Keibler) Last week Bagwell ventured back over to the face side as he teamed up with Scott Steiner to reform their old tag team to defeat Jindrak & Stasiak. After the match, Jindrak pretty much gave Shawn Stasiak the boot from The Gentlemen's Club. Jindrak goes into singles action this week against Bagwell and the match isn't pretty. They brawled back and forth throughout the match, but the match was just boring and sloppy. Bagwell picked up a few nearfalls along the way but in the end a distraction from Stacy Keibler allowed Jindrak to battle his way back and finish Bagwell off with the Mark of Excellence for the win! WINNER - Mark Jindrak by pinfall (73/79/60) After the match, Keibler wanted Jindrak to show his dominance by adding some more punishment to Bagwell. She brought a chair into the ring and as Bagwell got to his feet - Jindrak laid him out with a chairshot! Keibler liked what she was seeing, but wanted more! Suddenly, Shawn Stasiak rushed down to the ring with a chair of his own! Keibler saw him coming and had Jindrak drop his chair and high tail it out of the ring. Stasiak slid into the ring just as Keibler and Jindrak were exiting. Jindrak and Keibler headed up the ramp as Stasiak gave chase! ----- Dig This Backstage, Michelle Gold had caught up with Booker T who was attacked from behind earlier by The Wall and Mike Awesome. Booker was obviously not happy about what happened - and said that he could understand they wanted to make a statement by attacking the former WCW Champion - but if they really want to make a statement - they should do it in the ring. That's why this week on Thunder - Booker T will go one-on-one against The Wall! Now can you dig that, SUCKA?! (89%) ----- Ready for Action Elsewhere backstage, Lennox Lewis was warming up for his debut match in WCW. Hulk Hogan entered the room and wanted to wish Lewis the best of luck. He said that he knows that Lewis has what it takes to hang in the wrestling ring...he's definitely a world class athlete. Lewis said that he didn't accept Hogan's invitation to come in and be made a fool. He came here to win. That's all he's ever known...and this will be NO different! (83%) ----- MAIN EVENT The Outsiders & Lennox Lewis vs. The Storm Foundation As the match got underway, WCW Champion Sting made his way down to the ring and joined Tenay and Gilberti at ringside for commetenary. Sting repeated his views on Lennox Lewis in WCW and also gave his thoughts on his challenger at World War 3 - Lance Storm. Meanwhile, in the ring - Lennox Lewis wasn't seeing much action as Hall and Nash did most of the work in the rnig. Lewis did get some brief ring time against Andrew Martin - and showed off his boxing skills as he landed several punches and jabs to Martin that sent him back into the ropes and then even knocked Martin to the mat! But Lewis would defer back to Hall who entered the ring as Martin tagged Storm in. Storm and Hall went back and forth with one another until Storm took Hall down to the mat and began using his superior mat skills to take advantage. Lance Storm, Devon Storm, and Andrew Martin took turns working over Hall and kept him from making the tag to either Nash or Lewis. Sting commented on how he certainly could respect Storm's intelligence in the ring - Sting said that perhaps only he and Flair had more ring intelligence than Lance Storm. Eventually Devon Storm would came off the top looking for a flying crossbody - but Hall caught him! Hall then walked around the ring with Devon and hit the Last Call! Hall used this opportunity to tag in Nash! Nash came in and worked over the reelign Devon. He picked up Devon and dropped him with the Snake Eyes across the turnbuckle! Devon Storm stumbled out into a side slam from Kevin Nash! In came Lance Storm with a springboard dropkick that took Nash down - but Hall was back in the ring only to have Andrew Martin come to Lance's rescue! As things began to get out of hand, Hall and Martin both tumbled over the top rope while Lance Storm ate a Big Boot from Kevin Nash! Nash then turned his attention back to Devon Storm...setting him up for the Jackknife, but Lewis entered the ring and suggested that he wanted to get some moves in. Nash defered to Lewis as Lewis hit a few jabs to Devon who staggered around the ring...but then Lewis turned and caught Nash by surprise with a huge sucker punch right hand that knocked Nash to the mat! Everyone was taken by surprise as Devon Storm made the cover on Nash - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - The Storm Foundation by pinfall (75/78/69) After the match, Sting gave The Storm Foundation a standing ovation from ringside as Lennox Lewis took the Canadian Flag from ringside and hoisted it in the air to boos from the crowd! Lance Storm regrouped with the rest of the Storm Foundation and they embraced Lewis. Lewis lifted up Storm's hand in the air as the crowd rained in boos to the boxing superstar and the Canadian Heavyweight Champion. The show came to a close as The Storm Foundation and Lennox Lewis celebrated in the ring. OVERALL - 82%

WCW Thursday Thunder October 25, 2001 From the Erie Civic Center in Erie, PA Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest 'The Cat' Miller -A recap from Thunder kicked off the show - highlighting Hulk Hogan's announcement that Lennox Lewis had joined WCW to take part in the World War 3 Battle Royal. This led to confrontation between Lance Storm and Hogan/Lewis that led to Hogan making a 6 man tag match later in the evening with The Outsiders teaming up with Lewis to take on the Storm Foundation. That match had the shocking conclusion that saw Lennox Lewis turning on The Outsiders to help The Storm Foundation pick up the victory! -The Filthy Animals (w/Torrie) vs. The Jung Dragons- Tag team action kicked the show off this week as Don Callis and The Cat hyped up tonight's show as we continue to head towards World War 3. In tonight's main event, as a result of the events from Nitro - Booker T had challenged The Wall! But that was later in the evening, for now - WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman had their hands full with the Jung Dragons - who were putting up a fight against the decorated team of Kidman and Mysterio. Callis reminded us that at World War 3 - Rey Mysterio would be defending the title in a rematch from Halloween Havoc against rival Chavo Guerrero! After Kidman found himself the face in peril for a good chunk of the match, Kidman reversed a powerbomb from Kaz Hayashi into a facebuster that allowed Kidman to make the hot tag! Mysterio came in wilth a wild man and cleaned house of both Hayashi and Yang. Mysterio would eventually wrap the match up with a West Coast Pop to Hayashi for the three count. WINNER - The Filthy Animals (77/72/100) -Backstage, Mike Sanders was with The Wall & Mike Awesome as well as backstage interviewer, Michelle Gold. Gold said that The Towers of Terror had simply laid a path of destruction across WCW - but they have yet to face someone as accomplished as Wall's opponent tonight - Booker T. Were they at all worried that facing a former WCW Champion would put a crushign halt to their domination? Sanders wanted to know if Gold was watching on Nitro when Wall destroyed Booker T and left him for dead? Booker T may be a multi-time WCW champion - but he is NO MATCH for The Wall. And tonight, before the night is over - we would all know just how big a force The Wall is going to be in WCW! (85%) -Jerry Lynn vs. Chuck Palumbo (w/Ted DiBiase)- According to DiBiase, there are a few people left on his debt list that are entered into World War 3 - and he was going to use that Battle Royal to collect on those debts as well as get Chuck Palumbo to the next step in WCW competition. This match served it's purpose of just putting over Palumbo and making him look like a legitimate threat going into World War 3. The talented Jerry Lynn did a wonderful job making Palumbo look great in the ring. After dominating most of the offense - Palumbo put Lynn away with the Jungle Kick for the three count. WINNER - Chuck Palumbo (68/69/84) -Lance Storm entered the private suit of The Gentlemen's Club and found the WCW Champion Sting sitting alone at a table. Storm wanted to know why Sting had requested him to come see him. Sting said that he perhaps has underestimated him - because after sitting at ringside at Nitro and watching what happened befoer him - he realized Storm was just a much a master stratgizer as even Sting himself. Sting was impressed that he managed to get Lennox Lewis on his side and fool everyone...Sting says he knows all about fooling everyone. He said that he looked forward to meeting with Storm in the ring to see who the better man is...but he wanted to go one-on-one in a true game of strategy with Storm..to really get a feel for him. Sting revealed a chess set sitting on the table. Storm smirked and said Sting would be no match for his brilliance. Storm sat down on the other side of the table and their chess game got underway. (88%) -Scott Hall (w/Kevin Nash) vs. Devon Storm (w/Andrew Martin) While their leader was busy engaged in a battle of the minds with Sting, Devon Storm and Andrew Martin had business to take care of in the ring as we got ourselves a bit of a preview of things to come at World War 3 as one half of the tag champs - Scott Hall, took on one half of the challengers - Devon Storm. The crowd was solidly behind Hall and united against Devon Storm as the match got underway. They went back and forth, with Martin trying to interfere constantly for his partner with Nash there to act as the equalizer. Storm picked up a few nearfalls againt Hall - including one off of a German Suplex and another off of a springboard moonsault. However when Storm went for a slingshot crossbody - Hall caught him in the air and delivered the Last Call! The tables were turned in the favor of the 'Bad Guy' - but as he continued to pick up momentum - he decided to end it with the Outsider's Edge - only to have Martin try to stop him! But there was Nash to cut off Martin! Nash and Marin battled to ringside while Hall finished off Storm with the Outsider's Edge! Hall hooked the leg - One, two, Three! WINNER - Scott Hall (70/80/76) -3 Count and Tank Abbott made their way down to the ring to a fair amount of boos from the crowd. Abbott set up Karagias, Moore, and Matthews placemats as they informed us there would be a concert tonight - but first they wanted to talk about their big victory on Nitro. This was, of course, over The Tennessee Outlaws. 3 Count failed to mention how after the match, the Outlaws has battled back with some unexpected assistance from their tomboy valet Trinity. 3 Count continued to gloat about their victory before finally gracing us with some singing. But the singing was interupted by the country music theme of The Tennessee Outlaws themselves! Chris Harris, James Wolfe, and Trinity made their way down from the back as Karagias said the country music was hurting HIS ears! Trinity had the microphone and said that The Outlaws wanted another shot against 3 Count....ANY member! The trio huddled and Moore took the microphone, saying he would accept on behalf of 3 Count, but their stipulation was that HE gets to choose who he faces. Trinity said that they had no problem with that...Moore smiled and said he chose...Trinity! (65%) -Trinity (w/The Tennessee Outlaws) vs. Shannon Moore (w/3 Count)- Trinity wasted no time climbing into the ring, as she seemed up to the challenge - while Moore laughed and was definitely confident in his selection. The duo locked up, and Trinity immediately took Moore down with an armdrag! A shocked Moore suddenly was wondering if he made a bad choice as Trinity ran in and hit a dropkick to Moore! Trinity continud to impress as she sent Moore into the ropes and hit a spinning heel kick to Moore! 3 Count were livid at ringside as Harris and Wolfe laughed at ringside while sipping on their beers. Moore battled back, grabbing handfulls of Trinity's hair and throwing her to the mat. Moore sent Trinity into the corner where he hit her with some shoulder thrusts as the crowd greeted him with boos. Moore then attempted a powerbomb, but Trinity reversed it into a rana! Karagias and Matthews tried to get involved, but Harris and Wolfe stopped them! Tank Abbott intervened, but Wolfe broke his beer bottle across Abbott's head to lay him out at ringside! Moore, distracted by the brawling at ringside, turned back to Trinity and was met with a boot to the groin that went undetected by an equally distracted Randy Anderson! Trinity hit a Northern Lights Suplex to Moore and then hit a Standing Shooting Star Splash! One, Two, Three! WINNER - Trinity (56/57/70) -Harris and Wolfe climbed into the ring and celebrated with Trinity as everyone seemed to be in shock that she had just pulled off the victory over Shannon Moore. But perhaps no one was more surprised than 3 Count themselves. As the Outlaws and Trinity left the ring - Moore had some explaining to do for his boy band brethren. -In the back - the chess game between Sting and Lance Storm continued. As Sting made his next move, he began talking to Lance Storm about how no one is giving him a chance to beat Sting. Everyone seems to think it's a foregone conclusion that Sting will walk out of World War 3 champion and head on to Starcade. Storm said he didn't care what people thought, and to let them think that. They're just in denial of the true Canadian Champion Lance Storm and his abilities. Sting actually said he agreed with Storm 100%. Sting said he knows what Storm is capable of, and while no one may think he has a shot - Sting knows he does. Sting explained that he underestimates no one. Storm made his next move. Storm told Sting that most people wouldn't think the Canadians are capable of strategizing...they think because Canada doesn't get involved in the political games and war as often as America, that they don't know strategy. But did anyone ever stop to think that perhaps thats what makes Canada the smartest nation of them all? Sting smirked and made his next move. Sting wanted to know what else Storm had up his sleave. After watching Nitro - he knows Storm must always be thinking two steps ahead. Sting was trying to get inside Storm's head and find out if he had to worry about anything at World War 3...anything Storm might be planning. Storm said he doesn't show his hand this early...Sting reminded Storm that they're playing chess - not poker. Storm smirked and made his next move. (79%) -Shawn Stasiak vs. Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli (w/Kimberly)- In his first singles match since being turned on by Mark Jindrak - Stasiak took on Stamboli in a decent match. Although the crowd does not seem to have warmed up to Stasiak as a face at all. The crowd was pretty silent during the back and forth matchup. Eventually Jindrak himself would make his way down to the ring along with Stacy Keibler. Just as Stasiak was starting to battle back and take a firm control of the match - Keibler climbed on the apron getting his attention as well as referee Billy Silverman's. Meanwhile, Jindrak slid into the ring and attacked Stasiak from behind! But Stasiak battled back! Stasiak got the upperhand on Jindrak and clotheslined him over the top rope! But when Stasiak turned around, he was met with a kick to the groin from Stamboli! As Keibler climbed back down from the apron, Stamboli lifted up Stasiak and finished him off with the Fuh-Get-A-Bout-It! Stamboli got the cover and the three count. WINNER - Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli (59/55/78) -Stamboli and Kimberly had no problem celebrating their victory with that outside interference - while Mark Jindrak and Stacy Keibler watched on with satisfaction as Stasiak was struggling to get to his feet in the ring.. -The chess match in the back between Sting & Lance Storm was reaching it's end. Sting made his move, collecting one of Storm's pieces. Sting told Storm that he was running out of places to run. Storm was silent as Sting continued to talk. Sting mentioned that WCW begins its tour of Canada next week leading up to World War 3. Sting knew that Storm was looking forward to going home. Storm nodded and made his next move. Sting glanced at the board before making a move. 'Check' Sting said with a smile. Sting began to soak in his victory - telling Storm he was a good opponent, but he feels like this was just the first battle of the minds he would win against Storm. Sting appreciated the effort, but that Storm was just no match for "The Icon." Storm looked at the board and made one last move. "Check mate" Storm said confidently. Sting stared at the board in disbelief. He looked all over and could not believe he didn't see that coming. Storm got up from the table. Storm commented - 'Like I said - I'm always looking 2 or 3 steps ahead.' Storm left the room as a frustrated Sting waited for Storm to leave before flinging the chess board and all it's pieces to the floor in anger. (84%) Main Event - Non Title Match: Booker T vs. The Wall (w/Mike Sanders) Both men definitely had a challenge here as Booker T had to take on the destruction machine that is The Wall while The Wall was looking at his highest profile match to date in his career. The Wall quickly looked to make a name for himself against the former WCW Champion as he immediately took Booker to the mat and began wearing him down with his size and power. But Booker fought back early, coming back with some punches and chops to Wall's big target of a chest. This seemed to wear down the big man, but he came back with a knee to Booker's midsection to slow the former champ back down. Wall continued in control of Booker, working him over in the corner with stomps and a boot choke that was broken up by Charles Robinson after a 5 count. Mike Sanders enjoyed watching his monster looking strong against Booker T. Wall hit Booker with a Military Press Slam and went for the cover - but Booker got his shoulder up. This would bea reoccuring theme during the match as Wall kept hitting Booker with some power moves - but Booker kept just barely getting his shoulder up. After a spinout powerbomb from Wall - Booker T once again got his shoulder up. Wall began to show some frustration as he grabbed Booker by the throat and lifted him up into a chokelift. Charles Robinson gave him the five count and Wall dropped Booker to the mat. As the crowd began to rally behind him - Booker began to fight back. He hit some punches and chops and then hit a spinning crescent kick to The Wall. The Wall was staggering as Booker climbed the turnbuckles. Booker came off with a missle dropkick to Wall that took him down! Booker kept on the attack, crouching over Wall and unloading furious right hands to The Wall - not letting the big man back up to his feet! Booker continued to ride his wave of momentum as Wall began to get to his feet...he gave Wall a boot to the midsection followed by the Scissors Kick! Booker T came to his feet with a spinaroonie to a pop from the crowd! But out came Mike Awesome! Booker say Awesome coming and ducked an incoming clothesline from him and laid out Awesome with the Harlem Sidekick! Awesome rolled out of the ring, but Wall had recovered and hit a running BIG BOOT to Booker! Wall lifted up Booker and grabbed him by the throat going for the chokeslam, but Booker broke free and hit a knee lift to the Wall! Booker went for the BOOKEND...but Wall blocked it! Booker gave Wall another boot to the midsection and went to bounce off the ropes, but Sanders reached in and grabbed Booker's leg! Booker turned and gave some choice words to Sanders...but when Booker turned around he was grabbed by the throat - CHOKESLAM! The Wall hooked Booker's leg - One, Two, Three! WINNER - The Wall (68/78/65) -Callis and The Cat called this a bit of an upset but in any event a HUGE victory for The Wall! Sanders and Awesome climbed into the ring and celebrated the victory before turning their attentions back to Booker T! They both double teamed Booker before Awesome laid out Booker T with an Awesome Bomb! The Towers of Terror stood tall to end the show. OVERALL - 71% Edited by Dubb, Sep 19 2011, 01:15 PM.

WCW Tuesday Nitro October 30, 2001 LIVE from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti -WCW headed up north to begin their tour of Canada that will include not just Nitro tonight but also Thunder and Sunday's Pay-Per-View World War 3! Tenay and Gilberti welcomed us to Canada and spoke about despite how much they can't stand Lance Storm - Canada is actually quite a wonderful place. Tonight we would be treated with two big matchups as WCW Champion Sting would be going up against Andrew Martin in a non-title match, while United States/Canadian Heavyweight Champion and Sting's challenger at WW3 would be going up against Ric Flair, also a non-title match! -Billy Kidman (w/Torrie) vs. Chavo Guerrero (w/KroniK)- This match was mostly here to hype up Chavo vs. Rey - the rematch for the Cruiserweight Title at Wordl War 3. Kidman was hoping to have a good showing against Chavo, while Chavo was hoping to gather some momentum heading into the PPV by defeating Rey's friend and tag team partner in Kidman. Chavo and Kidman had some good chemistry in the ring together and went back and forth in what turned into more of a technical based cruiserweight matchup than the standard high-flying, fast paced style. Kidman actually looked to pick up the victory, but as he went for the Kid Krusher - Brian Adams distracted referee Randy Anderson while Bryan Clarke entered the ring and took out Kidman with a big boot! Clarke left the ring as Chavo recovered...Chavo climbed the ropes and hit the Frog Splash to Kidman for the three count victory! WINNER - Chavo Guerrero (83/76/91) -Chavo celebrated his victory after the match as Rey Mysterio rushed down to the ring to check on Kidman. Chavo motioned to Rey that this Sunday - the belt was coming home to him. -Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan. Hogan discussed how excited he was to sign Lennox Lewis to a contract for World War 3 - only to have that excitement fade when he watched Lewis align himself with the Storm Foundation. But Hogan was not going to let it damper his spirits because he was still very excited about the return of World War 3 in just a few days. So excited that he wants to have a PREVIEW - RIGHT HERE, TONIGHT, BROTHER! Tonight he is holding a 10 Man Battle Royal between some of the entrants in World War 3...and the winner of that match will receive a very huge TEN MINUTE advantage in World War 3! Hogan could not express enough how big of an advantage it will be to be able to come out 10 minutes after the 60 man war has gotten underway. Hogan wished the competitors good luck tonight, brother! (85%) -3 Count and Tank Abbott made their way down to the ring to scattered boos from the crowd. They had a lot of explaining to do after Thunder where Shannon Moore lost a match to a woman - Trinity. Moore took the microphone and said that it wasn't fair that he had to fight a woman (ignoring the fact that it was HE who chose his opponent!) and that he demanded a rematch! But this time he wanted it to be a TAG match! The Tennessee Outlaws and Trinity made their way down to the ring, answering the challenge. Trinity said she would have no problem stepping into the ring with Moore again and beating him AGAIN! She said she would take either one of her men and take on Moore and anyone he chose. Moore said she was glad she said that - because he chose - TANK ABBOTT! (63%) -Chris Harris & Trinity (w/James Wolfe) vs. Tank Abbott & Shannon Moore (w/Karagias & Matthews)- After the very embarassing loss on Thunder - 3 Count definitely were looking to redeem themselves - and the addition of Tank Abbott in the ring was definitely the way to go. Trinity was not going to be caught dead in the ring against Abbott - so Harris started the match out against the slugger and the two brawled to start the match. Harris did most of the heavy lifting in the match - though Trinity proved she can hang with Moore once again when they found themselves in the ring against one another. However, despite Harris holding his own for most of the match and Wolfe doing his best to keep Karagias and Matthews at bay at ringside...the end of the match would not be in their favor. After Trinity had asked to be tagged in against Moore - she looked to continue the momentum created by Harris, only to send Moore into the ropes and have Abbott get a blind tag! While Trinity took Moore out with a spinning heel kick...Abbott scooped her up from behind and slammed her into the mat with a running powerslam! Harris entered the ring, but Abbott laid him out with his knockout right hand punch! Abbott pinned Trinity and picked up the three count! WINNERS - Tank Abbott & Shannon Moore (60/48/72) -After the match, JameS Wolfe entered the ring and went head on after Tank Abbott - but Karagias and Matthews joined in the attack from behind - outnumbering Wolfe. Karagias and Matthews held onto Wolfe as Abbott reared back and hit the knock out punch to Wolfe as well! 3 Count and Tank Abbott left all three of their opponents laid out as they left the ring to boos from the crowd. -Backstage, The Gentlemen's Club were living it up in their personal suite - Flair and Sting expressed their disgust with being in Canada and how they couldn't wait to get this 'tour' over with. Flair told Sting to not worry about Lance Storm, because later tonight - he was going to embarrass him infront of his beloved Canadian fans! Sting liked the sound of that, and was reminded that he needed to be on his way out for his upcoming match against Andrew Martin. Sting promised to make an example out of 'The Canadian Enforcer.' As Sting headed out, Keibler reminded Flair of how big World War 3 is going to be for the Gentlemen's Club. Flair nodded and said the best was yet to come. They had a big surprise prepared for Thunder! (93%) -Nontitle Match: 'The Canadian Enforcer' Andrew Martin (w/Devon Storm) vs. 'The Icon' Sting (w/Stacy Keibler) In Canada, even Andrew Martin gets a big pop from the crowd! This would definitely have to rank up there in the top of Martin's all time biggest matches. The match itself was nothing to write home about as neither man seemed to be at the top of their game. Sting was going through the motions in the ring, especially on offense. Martin got a fair amount of offense in against the champion - showing off his strength and power to take the advantage over Sting. With each crushing blow that Martin delivered - the crowd reacted favorably to the 'Canadian Enforcer.' However, Martin's advantage would not last long enough for him to score the win as Sting battled his way back into the match with a few cheapshots and some distractions from Stacy Keibler at ringside. As Sting was building his momentum, he hit a pair of Stinger Splashes to Martin. Devon Storm climbed to the apron, but Sting knocked him down with a right hand! The crowd booed Sting loudly as he dropped Martin with the Scorpion Deathdrop! Sting hooked Martin's leg - One, Two, Three! WINNER - 'The Icon' Sting (79/85/66) -Sean O'Haire vs. Mark Jindrak (w/Stacy Keibler)- Busy night for Keibler as she left the ring with Sting and then after the commercial break was back coming down to the ring with Mark Jindrak! The Gentlemen's Club's Mark Jindrak was squaring off against the always unstable Sean O'Haire - who has been even more unstable than usual as he has been struggling to find victories since he lost to Lance Storm at Fall Brawl. The losing seems to be taking its effect on O'Haire as he becomes more and more frustrated as time passes. Tonight he was looking to take out that frustration against Jindrak while Jindrak himself was looking for a big win against his former teammate in O'Haire. Being former teammates - these two know each other very well and what resulted was a surprisingly great matchup! Jindrak and O'haire went back and forth the whole way - each picking up very close nearfalls along the way. However we would not get a clearcut winner for this superb matchup as when O'Haire came off the top looking for the Seanton Bomb - Jindrak rolled out of the way! O'Haire hit the mat hard and both men were struggling to get to their feet. But as they were trying to get to their feet - Shawn Stasiak rushed the ring and attacked his World War 3 opponent and former partner - Mark Jindrak! Referee Mark Armstrong called for the bell, giving the victory to Mark Jindrak by DQ! WINNER - Mark Jindrak (DQ) (79/73/86) -As Stasiak was crouching over Jindrak - delivering blow after blow to his rival...O'Haire began to get back to his feet and realize what just happened. O'Haire let out a primal scream of frustration before GRABBING Stasiak and slamming him to the mat with a spinout side slam! The crowd did not know how to react as they watched O'Haire kneel over Stasiak and deliver blow after blow to Stasiak. As O'Haire was taking out his frustrations on Stasiak - Jindrak rolled quietly out of the ring and snuck to the back with Stacy Keibler! WCW officials climbed into the ring and pulled O'Haire off of Stasiak, who began to get to his feet and wanted to go after O'haire! WCW officials held both men back as we headed to commercials. -After the commercial break, Michelle Gold had caught up with Mark Jindrak & Stacy Keibler to get their thoughts on what just happened. Keibler said that Stasiak had a lot of nerve interupting a great match like that - but it looks like he got what was coming to him from Sean O'Haire! But as they were conducting the interview - Shawn Stasiak interrupted the shot and attacked Jindrak! Jindrak and Stasiak traded punches back and forth as Michelle and Stacy headed for higher ground. For the second time in as many segments, the WCW officials found themselves seperating Shawn Stasiak - this time from Mark Jindrak! (93%) -10 Man Battle Royal- (Diamond Dallas Page, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Devon Storm, Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli, Shane Helms, The Wall, Curt Hennig, and Booker T) As the bell rang - all ten men went at one another to try and get the upperhand early. It was pretty chaotic in the ring as most battle royals are. We saw The Wall already looking dominant, taking down anyone who came at him. Meanwhile - Devon Storm found himself up against the tag champs of Hall and Nash all by himself...and despite the 'homefield' advantage of being in Canada - Hall and Nash double teamed Devon Storm and sent him packing as the first elimination of the night! Meanwhile - The Wall was looking impressive as he eliminated Shane Helms and then eliminated Scott Hall! Kevin Nash and The Wall had a brief staredown in the middle of the ring as the other competitors were going at it around them! Nash and The Wall suddenly began trading blows that sent them staggering towards the ropes! Nash charged at The Wall, but the Wall ducked and sent Nash over the top rope to the floor! Noticing how big of a threat The Wall was - the faces of DDP, Steiner, and Booker T all teammed up together and managed to overcome The Wall and get him over the top rope to the floor! The match continued with half the field eliminated...remaining were DDP, Steiner, Stamboli, Hennig, and Booker T. Hennig was using strategy as he laid low to avoid elimination. Steiner and Page did battle as Stamboli and Booker T were going at it in the opposite corner. As Booker T was trying to eliminate Stamboli...Hennig snuck up from behind and tossed Booker T over the top rope! Booker T hit the floor and looked up in disbelief as Hennig gave a confident smirk. Hennig and Stamboli agreed to team up to try and work together against Page and Steiner! The four went at it in the ring as Stamboli and Page battled and Steiner and Hennig also paired off. Steiner got the best of that exchange while Stamboli had hit Page with a low blow to level 'The People's Champion' to the mat! Stamboli then attacked Steiner from behind and worked him to the ropes! Stamboli began trying to eliminate Steiner, but Steiner fought back and sent Stamboli over the top rope! But Stamboli landed on the apron! Stamboli it a couple shoulder thrusts between the ropes to wind Steiner. Stamboli hooked Steiner by the head and began trying to pull him over the top rope...Hennig rushed in and lifted up Steiner's legs from behind - the momentum sent Steiner and Stamboli both to the floor! This left it down to Hennig and Page! Page was still recovering from his attack from Stamboli so Hennig looked to take advantage. Hennig grabbed Page by the hair and tossed him over the top rope! Hennig turned his back and began celebrating his victory a bit too prematurely. Page had held on to the ropes! Page pulled himself back into the ring and he approached Hennig from behind. Page grabbed Hennig by the hair and literally tossed him over the ropes to the floor! The crowd gave Page a good face reaction as he was announced the winner! WINNER - Diamond Dallas Page (77/80/71) -DDP climbed the turnbuckles and threw up the Diamond Cutter sign as he celebrated his big victory! Would this be a sign of things to come - could DDP carry this battle royal victory as momentum into World War 3? He certainly will have the best chance of anyone with that 10 minute advantage on Sunday! -MAIN EVENT Nontitle Match: Lance Storm vs. Ric Flair (w/Stacy Keibler)- Lance Storm came out to a big face reaction from his beloved Canadian crowd. Storm and his cohorts soaked up the reaction and enjoyed every second of the cheers that they don't normally receive in America. Meanwhile, Flair was playing his usual heel as he came down to the ring. Most were probably expecting a classic matchup between these two technicians - but unfortunately in his age - Flair can't quite hang with Storm in the ring believe it or not. Storm's superior technical skill in the ring actually revealed some of Flair's weakness in his age as now he is actually more efficient at brawling than anything else. But in any event, no matter how much of a match classic it was or was not - the crowd was definitely into it. Flair and Storm went back and forth early, but Flair soon used some cheap tricks out of his playbook to take control much to the disdain of the crowd. Flair worked Storm over to the corner and lit up his chest with some knife edge chops which drew loud boos from the crowd! But Storm fought back with some chops off his own that sent the crowd into a frenzy! Storm battled his way out of the corner against the 15 time WCW Champion! A snap suplex by Storm resulted in a nearfall. However, a poke to the eye by Flair would slow Storm right back down and put the advantage back in Flair's court. After a commercial break, Flair was still firmly in control of the match and working over Storm's knees. Flair would eventually lock in the Figure Four to Storm and look to draw the submission victory! But Storm was not about to tap out in front of his homeland! Storm fought and fought and managed to turn the move over on Flair! Flair quickly squirmed free. As Flair began to attempt to pull Storm to his feet...Storm made some room with some punches and chops before leveling Flair with a magnificent dropkick! They battled their way to the corner once again before Flair took down Storm once again - this time with a snapmare. Flair then began to climb the turnbuckles, but Storm recovered and knocked Flair off balance - causing him to straddle the turnbuckles! Storm climbed the ropes with Flair, where Flair tried to battle back - but Storm hit him with some punches as well to quiet his comeback. Storm then came off the top with a superplex! Both men were down after the move - but Storm showed life first as he managed to roll over and make the cover - One, Two, Thre....KICKOUT by Flair! Storm showed no emotion as he got to his feet and went back on the attack. But as Storm was pulling Flair up, referee Charles Robinson was out of position to notice Flair hitting a back mule kick to Storm's groin! This once again put the ball in Flair's court...but his offense was short lived because after some brief offense - he whipped Storm into the ropes only to go for a backdrop that Storm countered by leapfrogging Flair and then rolling him up into the Canadian Mapleleaf! Storm locked the submission in tight - but Flair was waving his head against submitting. He tried to fight his way to the ropes, but just as he was getting there...Storm walked back to the center of the ring and sat down on the submission firmly! Flair fought some more but finally tapped out! Storm picked up the clean submission victory over the 15 time world champion! WINNER - Lance Storm (87/91/79) -The crowd was on their feet with excitement as Flair released Storm from the Mapleleaf. Storm climbed the turnbuckles and threw his arms up in the air as Andrew Martin and Devon Storm came down to the ring carrying the Canadian Flag. They entered the ring and handed the flag to Storm who waved it proudly as the crowd continued to roar in approval for their champion, Lance Storm. Nitro came to a close with the shot of Storm waving that Canadian Flag. Is this a sign of things to come for World War 3 when Storm faces off against Sting?! Tune in to the Pay-Per-View to find out! WCW Thursday Thunder November 2, 2001 From Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest 'The Cat' Miller -Thunder opened with a recap from Nitro that focused on the events that transpired between World Champion Sting and Lance Storm. The duo went up against members from each other's group on Nitro with both coming out victorious. Sting won his contest against Andrew Martin while in the main event, Lance Storm one upped the legendary Ric Flair with the Canadian Mapleleaf. -Don Callis & The Cat welcomed us to Thunder as we were just a few days away from the biggest Battle Royal in all of Professional Sports. And as we prepare for World war 3 - tonight's main event will feature Ric Flair & Curt Hennig from the Gentlemen's Club taking on Booker T and Diamond Dallas Page. But there was plenty of other action tonight including the rest of the Gentlemen's Club being on hand in cluding "The Icon" Sting. Challenger and 'Canadian' Champion Lance Storm was also in the building! -Psicosis vs. Romeo- Making his WCW 'redebut' was the former 'Kid Romeo' who has dropped the Kid portion because I assume he grew up. Romeo was as cocky and confident as ever as he returned to WCW television after spending time down in GCW as the GCW Champion. Romeo did a good job working the crowd to be against him against the fan favorite Psicosis. Psicosis and Romeo put on a good back and forth matchup that did a great job at reintroducing Romeo to the WCW fans and displayed that his time in GCW did in fact help improve his in-ring ability. After a match filled with high energy and multiple pinfalls - Romeo hit the Last Kiss to Psicosis and picked up the impressive singles victory! WINNER - Romeo by pinfall (78/61/96) -Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with The Gentlemen's Club, minus WCW World Champion Sting. Flair did all the talking as he did a hype job for the Gentlemen's Club's role in World War 3 and how they planned on working together to make it down to the final ring and then, in the end, it would be a member of the Gentlemen's Club left standing at the end of the day to make it an All-Gentlemen's Club Starcade Main Event! Flair also hyped up the tag match tonight which he called a 'preview' of how the Gentlemen's Club will work together as a unit in the 60 Man Battle Royal. Flair also told us that he had a big surprise for everyone in WCW tonight and it will have a huge impact on World War 3! What does Flair have up his sleeve?! (88%) -The Storm Foundation vs. Hot Commodity (w/Alicia)- Andrew Martin and Devon Storm got one last warm up before challenging for the WCW Tag Titles at World War 3 against champions The Outsiders. Martin and Storm were over as faces tonight due to the location - though Hot Commodity did not act like heels against them. It became your standard tag match that was designed to make Martin and Storm look strong heading into World War 3. Air Paris and Cassidy O'Reilly held their own against them, but eventually the larger and more powerful Andrew Martin had his way with the cruiserweights and finished Paris off with the pumphandle slam and picked up the victory for the Storm Foundation. Storm and Martin looked strong heading into World War 3! WINNERS - The Storm Foundation by pinfall (71/62/80) -We cut to backstage where the leader of the Storm Foundation, Lance Storm, was seen in a dressing room on a cell phone. Storm was talking to Lennox Lewis about World War 3. Storm said that he was looking forward to seeing Lennox again after he shocked the world and showed his true allegiance to Canada. Storm confirmed that Lewis would indeed be there this Sunday, representing The Storm Foundation in the World War 3 Battle Royal. Storm said that at World War 3 - The Storm Foundation would be dominant in their homeland of Canada as Martin and Storm would be brining home the tag titles, Storm would be bringing home the World Title...and who knows, maybe Lennox Lewis will pull it out and win World War 3! (84%) -Chris Harris (w/James Wolfe & Trinity) vs. Tank Abbott (w/3 Count)- This was a preview match for World War 3 as at the PPV, The Tennessee Outlaws and Trinity will be taking on 3 Count in a six person tag match. While Abbott himself will not be in match at the PPV, he certainly posed a threat to The Outlaws and for 3 Count, they would've loved nothing more than for Abbott to seriously weaken Chris Harris for the PPV. This matchup between this duo was nothing more than a medicore brawl which saw Harris' skill being limited to what Abbott could do in the ring. However Harris went toe-to-toe with the brawling Abbott and held his own. However, eventually things would get out of hand as Harris would take out Abbott with a move Callis called the 'Catatonic.' Before Harris could follow up with a pinfall - all three members of 3 Count slid into the ring and attacked Harris - drawing the DQ! Wolfe and Trinity entered the ring, coming to Harris' aid. Trinity hit a dropkick to Karagias that sent him falling out of the ring while Harris fought back against Moore and Wolfe took care of Matthews! Eventually all three members were sent packing as The Outlaws turned their attention to Abbott! Storm lifted up Abbott as Harris climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit the DEAD OR ALIVE! The Tennessee Outlaws stood tall in the ring as Thunder headed to commercials. WINNER - Chris Harris by disqualification (62/55/70) -"The Icon" Sting made his way down to the ring with the WCW World Championship around his shoulder. He drew boos from the crowd as he climbed into the ring and took the microphone. Sting asked the Canadian fans 'politely' to shut up so he could talk. He wanted to invite Lance Storm down to the ring right now because he had some things to say to his challenger. Not one to back down from an invite in his home country, Lance Storm made his way down to the ring to big cheers from the Canadian crowd. Storm climbed into the ring and Sting welcomed him to the ring. Sting said that whether the fans wanted to admit it or not, he and Storm were not that much different. They were both masters in the art of strategy and will do anything to get to the top of the wrestling world. Sting said Storm should not get used to the cheers from the fans because once we leave Canada - he will be back to getting booed just as much as the 'The Icon' does. Storm said he didn't care about the American fans and they could boo him all they wanted - but here in Canada - he's a national hero. Storm said that Sting is not a hero anywhere - not in his own country and certainly not in Canada. Sting will forever be a backstabber and a coward. Sting smirked and said that he gives Storm a lot of credit for getting to this level and getting this match - but that's where Sting is drawing the line. He's done playing games with Storm and from this moment on - Storm will get no mercy from Sting. And that moment starts...right...NOW! Sting then swung a sucker punch right hand to his challenger! Storm hit the mat and Sting began stomping away at Storm! The crowd booed, but Storm began to get back to his feet and was fighting back! They fell to ringside and continued to brawl until WCW officials and security broke them up. The crowd booed the WCW officials for breaking it up - clearly wanting to see the two go at it some more. But that would have to wait til the PPV. (81%) -We cut to backstage where Michelle Gold was with the WCW Tag Champions Scott Hall and Kevin Nash - The Outsiders. Hall did his usual 'Hey yo' to kick off the promo before defering to Nash to do most of the talking. Nash made some Canadian jokes which clearly did not go over well with the crowd. Nash said he was looking forward to crushing the hopes of all the Canadians when they defeat the Storm Foundation. As Nash was wrapping the promo up - The Wall and Mike Awesome entered the shot led by Mike Sanders. The Wall and Nash immediately began staring each other down as Sanders took the microphone from Gold to remind the Outsiders that The Wall single handedly eliminated both tag champions in Nitro's 10 Man Battle Royal. Sanders gloated over the Wall's dominance over two such decorated champions in WCW, including former WCW Champion Nash. Sanders pointed out that that's TWO WCW Champions the Wall has laid waste to in the past week. Sanders told Nash to watch his back in World War 3 - because The Wall would love nothing more than to continue to make a statement in WCW and take out Nash once again! (79%) -Shawn Stasiak vs. Sean O'Haire- O'Haire did not take losing by disqualfication to Mark Jindrak on Nitro very well and O'haire took out his frustrations on the man who caused the DQ - Shawn Stasiak. O'Haire got his chance for some revenge tonight as he took on Shawn Stasiak in singles competition. O'Haire was clearly still a little upset about the incident as he was intense in the ring against Stasiak. O'Harie was taking the offense right to Stasiak and not letting up. As the match continued, Mark Jindrak & Stacy Keibler made their way down to the ring. O'Haire was not happy to see them, as he did not want to lose another match by disqualification. Stacy Keibler would eventually climb up onto the apron - distracting referee Randy Anderson and Sean O'Haire. O'Haire voiced his frustration to her - demanding her to leave the ring. As he did this - Mark Jindrak slid into the ring from behind with a chair! Jindrak plastered O'Haire from behind with a chairshot! O'Haire fell to a knee and Randy Anderson called for the DQ! Jindrak then went over to where Stasiak was recovering, and handed the groggy Stasiak the chair! Jindrak rolled out of the ring as O'Haire got to his feet and looked behind him to see Stasiak holding the chair. Stasiak was as surprised as anyone and quickly tried to defend himself...but O'Haire wasn't listening! O'Haire laid out Stasiak with a roundhouse kick and then picked up the chair himself! O'Haire slammed the chair repeatedly across Stasiak's body as Randy Anderson tried to pull O'Haire off of him! O'Haire turned and laid out Randy Anderson with a chairshot! Anderson hit the mat and O'Haire drove the chair down across Randy Anderson's back a few times! Mark Jindrak and Stacy Keibler grinned on the ramp as they watched O'Haire unleash such a devistating attack onto Jindrak's opponent at World War 3. WINNER - Sean O'Haire by disqualification (73/74/73) -Backstage, WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio was in the middle of a heated conversation with his friend and tag partner Billy Kidman. Kidman was apparently upset with Rey for not having his back on Nitro when Kidman lost to Chavo with a lot of help from KroniK. Rey apologized and said he got to the ring just as soon as he saw - but by the time he got there, he was too late. Kidman questioned Rey's friendship and said that the title had gone to Rey's head. Kidman said if the roles were reversed - he would have been in Rey's corner. But not anymore - Kidman said he was done having Rey's back if he was not going to have his. Kidman walked off as Rey tried to encourage him to come back. But as soon as Kidman was out of sight - Chavo Guerrero attacked Rey from behind! Chavo threw Rey head first into the arena wall and then lifted Rey up and hit him with a brainbuster onto the hard floor! Chavo then stomped on Rey's chest a few times before telling Rey that he would see him Sunday! (68%) -MAIN EVENT: Ric Flair & Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) vs. Booker T & Diamond Dallas Page- Tonight's main event featured four men who all have to be considered threats to win the World War 3 Battle Royal this Sunday. And if anyone has the upperhand it is Diamond Dallas Page who won the 10-Man Battle Royal on Nitro, earning him a 10 minute advantage on everyone else. Meaning he does not have to join the Battle Royal until 10 minutes in! That's unheard of in World War 3 history, but Hulk Hogan made it happen on Nitro! Booker T and Page worked well together early, fending off the heels of Flair and Hennig of the Gentlemen's Club. However eventually Flair's playbook of dirty tricks helped himself and Hennig isolate Page from Booker T. Hennig and Flair took turns working over Page and picking up several nearfalls along the way but Page kept kicking out of anything the Club could throw at him. Even when Flair locked Page in the Figure Four - Page refused to submit as Booker T pounded on the turnbuckle to rally the fans behind Page. Page made it to the ropes and forced Flair to release the hold. Flair kept on the attack even after having to break his signature submission - and eventually brought in Hennig. Hennig and Flair continued to double team Page at every corner - until Page pulled one last trick that he had stored deep down in him. After ducking a clothesline attempt from Hennig - Page spun around and hit a discuss clothesline to Hennig that left both men down! Page made it to the corner first and brought in Booker T! Booker T came in and lit up Hennig's chest with some stiff chops before sending Hennig into the ropes and hitting him with the Harlem Sidekick! Booker T was on fire and Flair was looking worried on the apron. Flair climbed down off the apron and signaled to the back as Booker T was busy hitting the Scissors kick to Hennig! Booker T used the spinaroonie to get back to his feet...but as he was getting to his feet, Flair's 'surprise' for the evening came rushing down to the ring. It was the returning GOLDBERG! Goldberg slid into the ring and took out Booker T with the SPEAR! Referee Nick Patrick called for the bell to give us our THIRD DQ finish in a row! WINNERS - Booker T & Diamond Dallas Page by disqualification (81/86/72) -DDP entered the ring but was met with a SPEAR from Goldberg! The corwd booed loudly as Goldberg grabbed Booker T by the hair and pulled him to his feet. Goldberg hooked Booker, lifted him up, and dropped him with the Jackhammer as Flair and Hennig both gave their approval. Flair took the microphone and was overcome with joy to welcome Goldberg back to the Gentlemen's Club. Goldberg took the microphone and thanked Flair, but he wanted to clear something up. Goldberg wanted clarification on if it was Sting who put him out of action as part of their charade to hide he was joining the Gentlemen's Club at War Games? Flair smiled and patted Goldberg on the back and thanked him for taking one for the team. Goldberg nodded his head and simply said - "That's what I thought." Goldberg then swung his leg around and surprised Flair with a superkick! A surprised Hennig barely had time to react before Goldberg took him down with a SPEAR! Flair rolled out of the ring to safety as Goldberg popped back up to his feet. Goldberg grabbed Hennig and hit him with the JACKHAMMER! Flair backed up the apron in disbelief as Goldberg stood tall over Hennig, Booker T, and DDP in the ring! Goldberg picked up the microphone and said that he had no allegiances in WCW - anyone was fair game and Goldberg was the hunter. He said that there would be 60 men in World War 3 and he was one of them. And as far as he's concerned, they were all...including Flair...NEXT! Goldberg dropped the microphone to a loud mixed reaction from the crowd as he gave his best menacing face to the camera to end Thunder! (86%) OVERALL - 78% |

WCW World Championship Match "The Icon" Sting vs. Lance Storm (4 points) - I love me some Lance, but Sting has a lot of momentum too and deserves a nice run as champion. At least until Starrcade. World War 3 60 Man Over-The-Top Battle Royal (5 points) - I'll go and pick Booker T. You've done a good job in that there are a lot of options as to who could win. You have Goldberg, T, DDP and even some dark horses like Shane Helms or Ric Flair. WCW Tag Team Championship Match Kevin Nash & Scott Steiner vs. The Storm Foundation vs. Towers of Terror (3 points) - Steiner or Nash might turn, and the Towers seem on the brink of splitting and giving you two big individual stars. The Foundation meanwhile seems like they can stay as a tag team for a long time to come. WCW Cruiserweight Title Match Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero (3 points) - Chavo's run of taking up the CW division top time is done. There are a lot of other quality crusier's (And probably more in development) who deserve a shot feuding with Rey. 6 Person Tag Match The Tennessee Outlaws & Trinity vs. 3 Count (2 points) - Trinity to pin Abbott! :shifty: Shawn Stasiak vs. Mark Jindrak (2 points) - Jindrak seems to be someone you are much higher on. He could be moving into a Randy Orton type role if he's kept pushed (And obviously keeps a mouthpiece). BONUS POINTS 1. Who will be the runner up of World War 3 (1 point) - I'll go with Goldberg. 2. Who will be eliminated first from World War 3 (1 point) - Let's say Buff Bagwell :( 3. How many interferences will there be in the World Championship Match (1 point) 4 People. 4. Who will get the pinfall in the 6 person tag match (1 point) Trinity (Over Abbott) TIE BREAKER Predict the buyrate of World War 3 1.48 |

World War 3 November 4, 2001 LIVE from Calgary, Alberta, Canada Announcers: Mike Tenay, Don Callis, & Glen Gilbertti -Our three-man announce team welcomed us to CALGARY...DRAMATIC PAUSE...ALBERTA, CANADA for the return of World War 3. Later tonight, we would witness the biggest battle royal in wrestling a - a 60 man, over the top battle royal for a shot at the top prize in all of professional wrestling - the WCW Title at Starcade! And then, in tonight's main event - the hometown boy from right here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada - Lance Storm will challenge "The Icon" Sting for the WCW Title! -Six Person Tag Match: The Tennessee Outlaws & Trinity vs. 3 Count (w/Tank Abbott)- Abbott's prescense at ringside was not only to provide support to his favorite boy band - but to also provide any kind of help he could from the outside. But that didn't stop the newcoming team of Chris Harris, James Wolfe, and Trinity from going right at the three cruiserweights. Wolfe and Harris did most of the in-ring work - using their size and hard hitting offense to their advantage to control 3 count for a good majority of the match even with a 2 on 3 advantage. But Trinity wasn't content just watching from the apron - she wanted in on the action. She would get her wish as Shannon Moore was brought into the ring...Trinity asked to be tagged in! Wolfe gave her her wish and in came Trinity with a running leg lariat to Moore! Trinity got in a few quick attacks on Moore before Moore grabbed her by the hair and slammed her to the mat! Moore got in a few kicks to her midsection as she tried to get up off the mat. Moore brought in Karagias who then clotheslined Trinity to the mat! 3 Count seemed to have no problems dishing out offense against a female. They isolated Trinity briefly before Trinity hit a rana to Joey Matthews! Trinity made the tag to Chris Harris who came in and laid out each member of 3 count with right hands. Harris was riding the momentum and even knocked Tank Abbott off the apron to the floor before tagging in Wolfe! Wolfe lifted up Joey Matthews as Harris climbed the ropes - DEAD OR ALIVE to Matthews! Wolfe made the cover on Joey Matthews as Harris cut off Karagias and Trinity hit a dropkick to Moore! One, Two, Three! WINNER - The Tennessee Outlaws & Trinity (63/59/77) -Shawn Stasiak vs. Mark Jindrak (w/Stacy Keibler)- Former friends, teammates, and allies of the Gentlemen Club met in singles action as Stasiak finally got his chance at some kind of redemption for being booted from the group. The fans have not connected with Stasiak since being booted from the group and they really seemed to check out from this match - using it as an opportunity to pick up some consessions as they waited for the real meat of the PPV to kick in. Not helping matters was the lack of chemistry these two had in the ring with one another which might surprise you considering they have been partners...but in the ring against one another did not equal a good match up. They went back and forth until Jindrak took control thanks to some distraction from Keibler. Stasiak would battle his way back briefly, but ultimately Jindrak proved to be the better man as he finished off Stasiak pretty cleanly with the Mark of Excellence for the three count victory. WINNER - Mark Jindrak (65/62/71) -WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero (w/KroniK)- In the first of three title matches tonight, Rey Mysterio was defending his title against the man he defeated for the belt at Halloween Havoc - former champion Chavo Guerrero. With KroniK in his corner, Chavo seemed confident that he could win back the WCW Cruiserweight Title. Chavo and Rey put on another amazing match to add to their history...they went back and forth from the word 'go.' They took their fast paced, high energy offense inside and outside the ring...but on the outside, Rey ran into Bryan Clarke and Brian Adams who only threatened Rey with referee Charles Robinson watching on. Robinson warned KroniK - but with his back turned - Chavo took advantage and cracked a chair across Rey's back! Chavo sent Rey back into the ring and tried to capitalize - going for a pin. But Rey barely got his shoulder up before the three! Chavo was shocked that Rey kicked out, but went right back on the attack. Chavo would eventually go for the brainbuster, but Rey reversed it into a DDT! Rey found his second-wind and would eventually have Chavo set up for the West Coast Pop...but Bryan Clark pulled Rey down off the apron! Charles Robinson told KroniK it was their last warning as Rey got to his feet and rolled back into the ring. Rey was met with stomps from Chavo! Chavo picked up a couple more nearfalls on Rey - but when he went for a Gory Bomb..but Rey reversed it into a cradle! One, Two, Three! WINNER - Rey Mysterio (85/82/94) -After the match, Rey quickly rolled out of the ring as Bryan Clarke and Brian Adams entered the ring - going after Rey! Rey grabbed the Cruiserweight Title and headed up the aisle, celebrating with the fans at ringside while Chavo kneeled on his knees in disappointment in the ring. -WCW Tag Team Championship: Kevin Nash & Scott Steiner vs. The Storm Foundation vs. The Towers of Terror (w/Mike Sanders)- In what had been built up all month as the champions The Outsiders defending against The Storm Foundation in Calgary was changed at the last minute as Scott Hall was no longer a member of the WCW roster. WCW changed the match on the fly, adding Towers of Terror to the title match and allowing Nash to pick a partner of his choice to attempt to win the now vacated WCW Tag Team Championship! Nash eyed The Wall from the opposite side of the ring - as they had had a few run ins with each other recently on WCW television. But the big fan favorites for the match were Andrew Martin & Devon Storm who through their alliance with Lance Storm were big hits in his hometown. Steiner and Martin started out the match against one another and went back and forth before Steiner got the upperhand - which did not go over well with Canada. Steiner brought in Nash who picked up where he left off until The Wall took it upon himself to tag Martin and get in the ring with Nash! Nash and Wall stared each other down and began trading blows! They were going blow for blow until Martin tagged himself BACK in, slapping Wall on the back. The Wall reluctantly left the ring, glaring at Martin as Martin began to take an upperhand on Nash. Nash got the tag to Mike Awesome - who came in and went toe-to-toe with Martin, gaining the upperhand. The match continued on this pace as they traded in and out with each team getting in a significant amount of offense. However, things began to break down when The Wall and Nash decided they were going to continue their fight on the outside even when they weren't legal men! Steiner attempted to break up their fight, but Wall laid out Steiner with a clothesline and continued the battle with Nash! This left Mike Awesome alone in the ring to fend off both members of the Storm Foundation. Awesome held his own against Martin until Devon Storm attacked him from behind! With the odds not in his favor, the Storm Foundation put Mike Awesome away with the Storm Advisory for the three count victory! WINNER - The Storm Foundation (70/74/67) -After the match, WCW officials and security were able to seperate Nash and Wall while Andrew Martin and Devon Storm celebrated their tag title victories to cheers from the Calgary crowd. Would this be the start of a huge night for the Storm Foundation? WORLD WAR 3 RING ONE Wrestlers in Ring one: Booker T, Ric Flair, Shane Helms, Chavo Guerrero, Billy Kidman, Chuck Palumbo, Buff Bagwell, Evan Karagias, Dustin Rhodes, Konnan, Jerry Lynn, Mark Jindrak, Sean O'Haire*, Shane Douglas, Tommy Dreamer, James Wolfe, Cassidy O'Reilly, Reno, Lennox Lewis, Chris Sabin Storylines happening in Ring One -Booker T and Ric Flair found themselves often engaged in fighting one another. Although Shane Helms, still looking to get some one uppance on The Gentlemen's Club - also had his eyes set on 'The Nature Boy.' -Lennox Lewis has been hyped as being the 'big name' making a stop in WCW to try to increase buyrates. He had gotten a lot of coverage all over various media outlets and he held his own in the ring against the 'big' boys of WCW. Since it was mostly punching and kicking in a battle royal anywhere - this was right up Lewis' alley. -The 'loose cannon' that is Sean O'Haire was on a rampage in ring one - focusing his attention on Mark Jindrak based on the recent activity between the duo on this week's Nitro and Thunder. -Ted DiBiase's helping hand Chuck Palumbo made a strong showing in ring one as for whatever reason - he really seemed to be targeting Konnan. Eliminations from Ring 1 -Chris Sabin by Chuck Palumbo -Evan Karagias by James Wolfe -Cassidy O'Reilly by Ric Flair -Buff Bagwell by Chuck Palumbo -Shane Douglas by Sean O'Haire -Reno by Lennox Lewis -James Wolfe by Ric Flair -Tommy Dreamer by Sean O'Haire -Konnan by Chuck Palumbo -Jerry Lynn by Lennox Lewis -Chavo Guerrero by Booker T -Dustin Rhodes by Sean O'Haire Advancing to the Top 20: Booker T, Ric Flair, Shane Helms, Billy Kidman, Chuck Palumbo, Mark Jindrak, Sean O'Haire, & Lennox Lewis (68/71/66) RING TWO Wrestlers in Ring Two: Scott Steiner, DDP, Andrew Martin, Alex Wright, Brian Adams, Curt Hennig, Chris Harris, Johnny Stamboli, Hugh Morrus, Psicosis, Norman Smiley, Rey Mysterio, Tank Abbott, Shannon Moore, Road Warrior Animal, Lash LeRoux, Romeo, Jason Jett, Terry Funk, Frankie Kanzarian Storylines from Ring Two -The big names in ring two were obviously Page and Steiner and the two men they were focused in on during the match were Andrew Martin and Curt Hennig. Martin had the homefield advantage of Canada in his favor as well. DDP also had to contend with old rival Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli during the battle in ring two as well. -The biggest surprise from ring two was the fact that Shannon Moore managed to survive - thanks in large part to the efforts of Tank Abbott to not let anyone get near Shannon Moore - and if they did they got eliminated. -WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio continued to have a good night after successfully retaining his Cruiserweight Title earlier in the night against Chavo. Rey managed to avoid elimination at the hands of larger wrestlers and keep his hope alive into the finals. Eliminations from Ring 2 -Frankie Kanzarian by Andrew Martin -Jason Jett by Tank Abbott -Lash LeRoux by Johnny Stamboli -Road Warrior Animal by Tank Abbott -Romeo by DDP -Chris Harris by Curt Hennig -Alex Wright by Brian Adams -Norman Smiley by Brian Adams -Brian Adams by Scott Steiner -Hugh Morrus by Andrew Martin -Psicosis by Rey Mysterio -Terry Funk by Andrew Martin Advancing from Ring 2: Scott Steiner, DDP, Andrew Martin, Curt Hennig, Johnny Stamboli, Rey Mysterio, Tank Abbott, and Shannon Moore (67/69/65) RING THREE Wrestlers in Ring 3: Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Devon Storm, Chris Kanyon, Mike Awesome, The Wall, Storylines from Ring 3 -The biggest storyline in this ring was DOMINATION. With Goldberg, Nash, Awesome, and The Wall all in one ring...no one else really stood a chance. Even a big hoss like Bryan Clarke was unable to reach the finals with those kind of heavy hitters involved. -Ernest Miller laced up his wrestling boots for the first time in a while to try his hand in the biggest battle royal in wrestling - he did not fair to well but he did get in some dancing moves before being eliminated. -MIDAS became the first person to be eliminated from all of World War 3...getting quickly tossed by The Wall. Eliminations from Ring 3 -MIDAS by The Wall -Brian Knobbs by Kevin Nash -Kaz Hayashi by Goldberg -Ernest Miller by The Wall -Yang by Mike Awesome -Air Paris by Goldberg -Jamie Noble by The Wall -Joey Matthews by Kevin Nash -Elix Skipper by Goldberg -Big Vito by Mike Awesome -Bryan Clarke by Kevin Nash -Juvi by The Wall -Jim Duggan by The Wall -Shawn Stasiak by Goldberg -Chris Kanyon by The Wall -Devon Storm by Goldberg Advancing from Ring 3: Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Mike Awesome & The Wall (66/67/66) FINAL RING When there was just 20 men remaining of the 60 that started - everyone was combined into one ring. -With everyone being combined to one ring - more team work became possible as Flair was reunited with Curt Hennig and Mark Jindrak and Lennox Lewis and Andrew Martin worked together as part of the 'Storm Foundation.' The Wall & Mike Awesome also continued their dominance as a team while Tank Abbott continued trying to protect Shannon Moore. -The first elimination from the combined ring was WCW Cruiserweight Champion by his own teammate Billy Kidman! Mysterio seemed surprised as they had just been working together against Johnny Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo! -Billy Kidman did not have much time to celebrate his elimination because he in turn was eliminated by Goldberg! -Shannon Moore's strategy of using Abbott to keep himself al ive ended when Scott Steiner gave Tank Abbott the boot! With no one left to defend him, Steiner easily disposed of Shannon Moore as well! -Hennig and Jindrak continued to work as a team - eliminating Sean O'Haire together - which sent O'Haire on a rampage around ringside! O'Haire tried to re-enter the ring, but WCW officials quickly pulled him away from ringside! -Lennox Lewis and Scott Steiner got into a big altercation that saw Steiner almost eliminate Lewis, but Andrew Martin was there to make the save! With help from Martin, Lennox Lewis eliminated Scott Steiner! -DDP got another last word in on his old rivalry with Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli by sending him packing from the ring! -Chuck Palumbo's nice run in World War 3 came to a close thanks to Booker T giving him the boot! -Kevin Nash and DDP squared off against Mike Awesome & The Wall, which saw Nash get the upperhand on Mike Awesome and send him over the top rope to the floor! However, The Wall got his revenge as he eliminated Nash! -Booker T and Shane Helms had been working well together agianst Flair, Hennig, and Jindrak - but Goldberg was proving to be a thorn all of them as he kept attacking Booker T, Helms, and any member of the Gentlemen's Club he could get his hands on. Mark Jindrak was sent packing by Goldberg while Booker T tossed Hennig over the top rope! -DDP and Lennox Lewis began slugging it out which saw Lewis actually get the upperhand on Lewis as Martin came in from behind and charged at Page, but Page ducked and sent Martin over the top rope to the floor! Lewis and Page then collided with a double clothesline! -With seven people left, everyone was down on the mat...except for The Wall and Goldberg! The two beasts collided in the ring for the first time which was exciting in itself! The Wall showed off his power as he actually took Goldberg down to the mat! Wall lifted Goldberg up into a Military Press and walked with him towards the ropes...but Goldberg wiggled free and landed on his feet behind Wall! Wall turned around into a superkick from Goldberg! Goldberg began to try and get The Wall out of the ring - but Lennox Lewis intervened! Lewis soon regretted going after Goldberg, as Goldberg hit some stiff punches to Lewis and then clotheslined him over the top rope to the floor...thus ending Lennox Lewis' impressive run in World War 3! -Speaking of impressive runs in World War 3 - Shane Helms was surprising a lot that he was still around with just six men remaining! He had avoided trouble most of the match and used his size to his advantage to sneak out of any eliminating situation. Flair thought he had Helms eliminated on a few occassions - but Helms held on for dear life to the ropes and each time managed to get back into the ring safely. Helms kept his focus on Flair the entire time however - even as Flair was working over Booker T in an opposite corner. Flair looked to toss Booker T...but Helms came out of nowhere and hit a Shining Wizard to Flair that sent Flair falling over the top rope to the floor! Helms with the surprise elimination of 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair! -We were oh so close to the final four...but Helms' success would come to a close when he ran into the long and massive arms of the Wall! Wall lifted Helms high into the air and chokeslammed him over the top rope to the floor! THE FINAL FOUR As the dust cleared - each man stood in one of the corners of the ring. Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, The Wall, and Goldberg! Goldberg squared off with DDP while The Wall and Booker T were going one-on-one! Goldberg quickly took advantage off DDP and pushed him into the ropes. Goldberg tossed Page over the ropes, but Page landed on the apron! Goldberg turned his back to Page and got into his SPEAR stance as The Wall bodyslammed Booker T to the mat! The Wall turned around and was taken out by a SPEAR from Goldberg! Goldberg popped back up to his feet as Page came out of nowhere with a clothesline to Goldberg! Meanwhile, The Wall crawled to the ropes and began pulling himself up using the ropes as Booker T also got to his feet. Booker and Page looked to each other and nodded...and together they ran head on at The Wall...hitting him with a double clothesline that sent The Wall over the top rope to the floor! The Wall was eliminated! Goldberg was back up and meet Storm and Page both with right and left hands! Page fell to the mat as Booker continued to square off against Goldberg. Goldberg fired back and sent Booker into the ropes! Booker ducked a clothesline and then came back with a Harlem Sidekick to Goldberg! Goldberg was sent back against the ropes as Booker tried to get Goldberg over the top rope...but Goldberg fought back against Booker! DDP charged in, looking to take advantage of the situation, but Goldberg lifted Page up over the top rope! Page landed on his feet on the apron! Page fired a few elbows to Goldberg, but Goldberg fired right back to stun Page. Goldberg then backed up and charged at Page, hitting him with a running shoulder thrust that sent Page falling off the apron to the mat! DDP was eliminated! It was down to Goldberg or Booker T...with the winner going to Starcade to face whoever the champion would be! The stakes were high as Goldberg and Booker began battling in the center of the ring to determine who would win World War 3! Goldberg took the upperhand on Booker and immediately began trying to get him over the top rope, but Booker T was not giving up. Booker fought with everything he had left in his system to hold onto the ropes to save himself from elimination. Goldberg backed off and let Booker waste energy getting up as he set Booker up for a SPEAR. However, Ric Flair returned to ringside and grabbed Goldberg's leg from behind! Flair climbed onto the apron as Goldberg turned around. Flair kneed Goldberg in the groin! Flair jumped down off the apron as Goldberg fell across the ropes in pain. Booker got to his feet and only saw Goldberg against the ropes. Booker took advantage, running in and hitting the Harlem Sidekick to Goldberg! Goldberg tumbled over the top to the floor! Goldberg was eliminated! Booker T has won World War 3 and will main event Starcade against the WCW Champion! WINNER - Booker T (78/88/67) -Booker T celebrated his win to cheers from the Canadian crowd...but Goldberg was livid at ringside and gave chase to Ric Flair all the way to the back! With Booker T set to face the champion at Starcade - the only question left was - who would be the champion? We would not have to wait much longer to find out. -An promo for WCW Starcade 2001 aired. -WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match: "The Icon" Sting (c) vs. Lance Storm- After a month of mind games, Storm finally got his shot at the WCW Title in front of his home town crowd. The crowd was alive for Storm - all itching to see him win his first World Championship. He brought his 'Canadian' Heavyweight Championship down to the ring with him. As the match got underway, it quickly became evident that Storm was completely serious (no surprise there) about taking the attack to Sting and walking away champion. Sting did not seem prepared for the challenge he was up against - as it was all Lance Storm early. The crowd was loving every minute of watching Storm get the upperhand on the WCW Champion. This resulted in a few early nearfalls - but Sting soon got serious himself and pulled out an eyerake to slow Storm's offense and send a wave of boos through the audience. Sting used that opportunity to open the door wide and take control of his challenger. Sting made a few nearfalls himself - but his challenger kicked out of each one, much to the relief of the Calgary crowd. Storm began to battle his way back with some help from Canada's encouragement. Storm and Sting battled back and forth with knife edge chops before Sting leveled Storm back to the mat with a discuss clothesline. Sting continued on the attack, sending Storm into the corner and hitting a Stinger Splash that was met with boos. Sting yelled out some choice words for the Calgary crowd before whipping Storm into the opposite corner! Sting ran in for another Stinger Splash - but Storm moved out of the way and then caught Sting with a superkick as he stumbled out of the corner! The crowd was back into it again as Storm was able to fight back against the champion. He would eventually continu to ride his momentum and turn Sting over into the Canadian Maple Leaf...but Sting was not about to submit and give up the title that easily even though the crowd was all on their feet hoping he would. Sting eventually made it to the ropes and forced Nick Patrick to make Lance Storm release the hold. Sting rolled to ringside and seemed to be panicing about his title. He went to grab his belt and simply take a countout, but Storm hit a suicide dive to Sting to prevent that! Storm was back to his feet first and rolled Sting back into the ring. Sting got to his feet in the ring and called to the back for help! As Storm climbed back into the ring Curt Hennig rushed down to the ring! Hennig slid into the ring, but walked right into a superkick from Lance Storm! Hennig hit the mat and rolled out of the ring, but this distraction was enough for Sting to recover! Sting raked Storm's back and then hit him with an atomic drop! Storm was staggering as Sting grabbed him by the head and dropped him with the Scorpion Death Drop! It looked to be all over for the champion, but Sting wasn't going for the pin! He took his time getting to his feet and bantered with the crowd about how he was about to put their 'hero' away. He then grabbed Storm's legs and rolled him over, locking him into the Scorpion Deathlock. Clearly Sting wanted to shame Storm into tapping out infront of his hometown - so a pinfall would not suffice. Patrick checked in on Storm, who was refusing to tap out! Andrew Martin came down to the ring and climbed onto the apron, getting Sting's attention! Sting released Storm and went after Martin, who jumped down off the apron! Martin and Sting traded words from ringside as Martin began to back up the ramp...Storm recovered and rolled up Sting! Storm had a handful of tights - One, Two, Thre....Sting kicked out! Martin couldn't believe it, as he thought Storm had it wrapped up! Martin rushed back down to the ring as Storm and Sting were slugging it out in the ring - both exhausted from the match. Martin climbed on the apron again, but this time was pulled down by Hennig! Hennig and Martin began to battle at ringside! Nick Patrick climbed out of the ring as Sting was getting the upperhand on Storm! Sting hooked Storm and dropped him with another Scorpion Death Drop! Meanwhile, Patrick was busy booting Martin and Hennig from ringside... With Patrick distracted, Sting was about to lock on the Scorpion Death Lock to Storm again...but from the crowd came someone new....Mike Tenay quickled identified the long haired blonde as WWF Superstar Edge! The crowd definitely know who it was, and popped loudly as Edge slid into the ring! Sting turned around and was met with a SPEAR from Edge! Edge pulled Sting up and hit him with a lifting DDT! Tenay and his announce team speculated what the WWF star was doing in WCW...but judging by his Canadian heritage, it didn't take them long to put two and two together. Edge rolled out of the ring as Storm crawled over and made the cover on Sting. Patrick was back in the ring....ONE...TWO...THREE! Lance Storm has defeated Sting and claimed the WCW World Heavyweight Championship! WINNER - Lance Storm (86/91/82) -Andrew Martin, Devon Storm, Lennox Lewis, and former WWF star 'Edge' all climbed into the ring to celebrate the title victory for Storm. Storm was handed both the World Title and the 'Canadian' Heavyweight Title. He lifted both in the air as Edge lifted up Storm's arm in victory while Lennox Lewis lifted up the other. Andrew Martin proudly waved the Canadian Flag to a loud ovation from the crowd. The show came to a close on the shot of Storm holding up both titles with the flag waving behind him. OVERALL - 73% |
