Nice PPV. Booker T winning WW3 was a little underwhelming as it could have been used to propel someone else as a serious threat, but Lance Storm winning the title thanks to Edge completely makes up for that. Never saw Edge coming, never saw Storm winning, and it was a great way to end the PPV. |

WCW Tuesday Nitro 11.6.01 Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti Live from Calgary, Alberta, Canada -A recap from World War 3 illustrated Booker T winning the 60 Man Battle Royal after Flair interfered against former Gentlemen Club member Goldberg while later in the evening - Lance Storm captured the WCW World Title against Sting after WWF star 'Edge' interfered! -A Severe STORM Warning has been issued for Calgary, Alberta, Canada! The crowd popped big for their hometown hero, the NEW WCW World Champion - Lance Storm - as he led The Storm Foundation - complete with Andrew Martin, Devon Storm, and the newly introduced 'The Edge' Adam Copeland. Storm took the microphone and wanted to be serious for a moment about putting Canada back on top of the world. Storm proclaimed that Canada had officially taken the United States spot as the top global power thanks to Storm's win. Storm welcomed Adam Copeland to WCW and shook his hand to a big pop from the crowd. Storm pulled his other title off his shoulder, the 'Canadian Heavyweight' Title. Storm said that he had a deal with Copeland in bringing him over to WCW...and he was a man of his word...Storm proceeded to hand the United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title over to Copeland! Storm announced that he was awarding Copeland with the Canadian Heavyweight Title! Storm looked around at his group and saw that they had a lot of gold..Storm with the World Title, Copeland with the Canadian Heavyweight Title...and The Storm Foundation with the tag titles. But Storm said this was only the beginning of their domination... "American Made" hit the PA system, bringing out Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan to a mixed reaction from the Canadian crowd. Hogan joined the Storm Foundation in the ring. Hogan congratulated Storm on his 'tainted' victory - and welcomed 'The Edge' Adam Copeland to WCW. Hogan told them not to get too full of themselves...because if Storm wants to just go handing titles over to people, Hogan's going to make sure they defend it! So right here tonight...Copeland would make his in-ring WCW debut and would be defending that title that Storm just gave to him! But that's not the only title defense the 'Storm Foundation' would be making tonight. Given the circumstances of the title match last night...he felt a rematch was in order! So tonight in the main event - Lance Storm would defend the WCW Title against Sting! And to make things fair both The Storm Foundation AND The Gentlemen's Club will be BANNED from ringside! The Storm Foundation did not seem too thrilled with this announcement, but Hogan left them to his own music - leaving them upset in the ring. (84%) -Number One Contendership Match: The Tennessee Outlaws (w/Trinity) vs. KroniK (w/Chavo Guerrero): In a match to determine a number one contender for the WCW Tag Team Championship at Starcade - the up and comers of Chris Harris and James Wolfe took on the powerhouse team of KroniK. The Outlaws were coming off the momentum of the PPV win against 3 Count...but going up against KroniK was one way to quickly crush that momentum. But the Outlaws had their head in the game as they eyed their first shot at the tag gold...but Adams and Clarke were just as interested in the tag title opportunity. After some back and forth action early, KroniK took control by overpowering James Wolfe and focusing their attack on him. Eventually, Chris Harris would get the hot tag and attempt to bring some momentum against Brian Adams...which worked briefly until Clarke got tagged back in. Clarke would reassert KroniK's advantage and eventually the duo put away Harris with the High Times! Clarke made the cover as Adams held off Wolfe for the three count! WINNERS - KroniK (pinfall) (75/67/84) -After the match, Chavo Guerrero slid into the ring and celebrated with KroniK as if he himself had just won the match. Gilberti stated that Chavo was probably looking for whatever reason to celebrate he could after failing to regain the WCW Cruiserweight Title at World War 3. -Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with The Gentlemen's Club's Mark Jindrak and Stacy Keibler who wanted to gloat about their victory over Shawn Stasiak at World War 3. But as they were busy promoting their win...Sean O'Haire entered the shot and had a few things to say himself. He said that he doesn't like being played for a fool. He realized that Jindrak had attempted to use O'Haire's....temper...to better their own cause. O'Haire just wanted to let them know one simple rule...when you play with fire...you will get burnt. O'Haire gave a smirk before patting Jindrak on the shoulder and headed off screen. Jindrak gave a confused look to Keibler who simply shrugged her shoulders. They headed off screen, on their way to the ring for the next match. (86%) -'Sugar' Shane Helms vs. Mark Jindrak (w/Stacy Keibler): Shane Helms was brought out to the sounds of 'Vertebreaker' with his backup dancers accompanying him on the stage. Helms incorporated a lot of fan intereaction before and during the match. Jindrak muscled his way into control of the smaller Helms, grounding Helms and taking him out of his game. Jindrak kept Helms grounded with several restholds including some chinlocks and some armbars and even a sleeperhold - but Helms kept battling his way back each time. An attempt of the Mark of Excellence was countered by Helms into a rolling snapmare. When Jindrak tried to get back to his feet, he was caught by surprise with a Shining Wizard from Helms! Helms found his second wind against Jindrak and put him away with the Nightmare on Helms Street! Helms made the cover and picked up the three count victory! WINNER - Shane Helms (pinfall) (76/77/75) -Post match, Helms left the ring and celebrated up the aisle - high fiving fans along the way. Back in the ring...Jindrak was upset about his loss and argued with Keibler. Once Helms disappeared to the back and his music stopped playing - Jindrak was still in the ring, moping about his loss. Suddenly...the lights in the arena began to flicker off and on. After they stabilized, Sean O'Haire was standing in the ring behind Jindrak! Jindrak turned around and O'Haire took him down with a roundhouse kick! Keibler, not sure what to do, ducked to ringside as O'Haire pulled Jindrak back up and lifted him up into a Fireman's Carry before swinging him around into a DDT! O'Haire looked down at Jindrak and gave a sinister smirk before leaving the ring. -After the break, Michelle Gold caught up with the victor of the last match, Shane Helms. Helms said that it felt good to get another victory over the Gentlemen's Club...but as we all know - he's had his eyes set on Ric Flair for several months now. As far as Helms was concerned - Flair's time for hiding and ducking him was over. Helms was coming for Flair and would not stop until Flair gave him a match at the biggest stage of them all - STARCADE! (88%) -United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title Match: 'The Edge' Adam Copeland (c) vs. Shawn Stasiak: 'The Edge' was making his WCW in ring debut...meaning he was defending a WCW title in his first match in a WCW ring...that doesn't happen very often. This match served to get Copeland in the ring and show what he was capable of. Stasiak got in limited offense against the champion, who was never in any real danger of losing the title. Copeland would eventually put Stasiak away the 'Candian Death Drop' - a lifting DDT. WINNER - 'The Edge' Adam Copeland (73/74/74) -After the break, Goldberg made his way down to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Goldberg climbed into the ring and took the microphone - he wanted to make this short and sweet...he wanted Flair and he wanted him in this ring, RIGHT NOW. Goldberg paced back and forth in the ring until finally, Ric Flair answered the call and cautiously made his way down to the ring. Though he was definitely not dressed to wrestle. Flair climbed into the ring and Goldberg grabbed him by the collar of his nice suit. Goldberg said Flair had a LOT of nerve to cost him the win at World War 3...especially with Flair knowing what Goldberg was capable of. Flair pulled himself from Goldberg's clutches and dusted off his suit. He told Goldberg that Goldberg was the one who made the mistake. Goldberg had it all as a member of the Gentlemen's Club...he was living the high life and probably would be in line for a title shot right now. But he turned his back on Flair and Sting...and they weren't about to allow that. 'Turned MY back?' Goldberg shouted - Goldberg reminded Flair it was them who USED him as part of their scheme at Fall Brawl to bring Sting into the group. Goldberg said he was tired of being used...the only reason Flair wanted him in the Gentlemen's Club was for him to do his dirty work for him. And Goldberg had no problem doing it for the price. But what they did to him was not worth the money Flair had to offer. Goldberg was played for a fool - and he was no fool. He challenged Flair to a match right now - but Flair said that he was not dressed to wrestle and was not prepared to wrestle tonight. Goldberg didn't seem to care...but Hulk Hogan walked out from the back and stopped on the stage. Hogan said that if Flair needed time to prepare...how did one week sound? Hogan said that next week - Flair would be taking on Goldberg - one-on-one at Nitro! Goldberg seemed to approve, but he wasn't done yet. He said that The Gentlemen's Club have made an enemy they did not want. They messed with the wrong man and now, he was going to destroy them all...one...by..one. Goldberg said that The Gentlemen's Club as a whole...was...NEXT! (88%) -Kevin Nash & Scott Steiner vs. The Towers of Terror (w/Mike Sanders): The two losing teams from World War 3's tag title match met as their was still some bad blood going on between the four men in this match. Things were out of control from the get go as it was a slugfest between these powerhouses. The teams battled back and forth with Steiner eventually becoming the face in peril as Wall and Awesome took turns working him over. Steiner fought his way back against Awesome, eventually leveling him with a Steinerline before tagging in Nash. Nash came in and met Awesome with a Big Boot...but as he controled the match against Awesome - Nash clearly wanted The Wall. Nash let Awesome tag in The Wall and the two began to exchange blows in the center of the ring! Neither man gave an inch until Awesome attacked Nash from behind! Things got out of hand as Steiner came in to even the odds. Referee Charles Robinson was unable to restore order and was forced to call for a double DQ as all four men continued to battle in the ring. WINNER - Draw (double DQ) (72/76/63) -All four men continued to brawl until security and WCW officials were able to flood the ring and keep them away from each other. Nash continued to run his mouth as security held him back from going after The Wall! -Backstage, Sting was standing by with Michelle Gold. Sting gave his thoughts on losing the title to Lance Storm at World War 3 - assuring us he would win the title back tonight. There was a reason why he was called 'The Icon' - and that's because he's bigger than WCW. Therefore, the WCW title NEEDS him to restore some value to it. Sting said he would not need the Gentlemen's Club's help, so them being banned from ringside meant nothing to him. But without the Storm Foundation to back him up - Sting said it would be a walk in the park to regain his title. (81%) -Elsewhere backstage, WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio entered the locker room where Billy Kidman was talking to his girlfriend Torrie Wilson. Mysterio wanted to tell Kidman there was no hard feelings for what happened in World War 3. Kidman didn't seem interested in Mysterio's conversation, and told Rey 'fine' and that 'he was a little busy right now.' Slightly dejected by his friend, Mysterio seemed confused and left as Kidman waited for Rey to leave before returning to his conversation with Torrie. (71%) -MAIN EVENT: WCW World Championship Match: Lance Storm (c) vs. Sting: As indicated by Hulk Hogan earlier in the night - this rematch for the WCW title would have both the Gentlemen's Club and The Storm Foundation banned from ringside, hopefully ensuring us a decisive victor. Sting and Storm started off with a lockup which lead to some back and forth chain wrestling that saw Storm get the upperhand with his superior technical attack. The Calgary crowd was once again solidly behind their new champion and cheered him on hoping they would not also witness their champion being uncrowned. Sting used some dirty plays out of the Gentlemen's Club handbook, allowing him to take control over Storm. Sting would slowly work over Storm and lock him into the Scorpion Deathlock - but Storm refused to tap out. Storm fought to the ropes to break up the hold. Storm would battle his way back against Sting - eventually locking in his own finishing submission - The Canadian Mapleleaf...but Sting also was not giving up and also broke the hold via the ropes. Storm found himself unable to put Sting away and Sting fought back once again. Sting hit right and left hands to Storm before leveling him with a discuss right hand. Sting would send Storm to the corner where he would hit a pair of Stinger Splashes, drawing boos from the crowd. As Sting was about to drop Storm with the Scorpion Death Drop - Goldberg made his way down to the ring! Tenay noted that Goldberg was indeed a member of neither faction and his prescense was NOT banned! Sting saw Goldberg coming and immediately began to exchange words with Goldberg on the apron! Goldberg motioned back into the ring where Storm was recovering! Sting turned around into a VERY stiff Superkick from Lance Storm! Sting hit the mat and Storm hooked Sting's leg for the pinfall - One, Two, Three! Storm picked up the win to successfully make his first WCW Title defense! WINNER - Lance Storm (pinfall via interference) (80/81/80) -Goldberg seemed satisfied with being the one to cost Sting the title after what Sting did to him a couple months back. As Goldberg walked up the aisle, he met Booker T on the way down. Booker T and Goldberg stopped in mid-aisle to stare each other down before both continued in opposite directions. Booker T climbed into the ring as Lance Storm was still celebrating his win. Booker grabbed Storm and spun him around and the the two stared each other down nose to nose...Tenay told us that that was our 'Starcade Main Event - champion and challenger!' Storm and Booker T continued their intense staredown as the show came to a close. OVERALL - 79% Edited by Dubb, Oct 18 2011, 02:32 PM.
