WCW Thursday Thunder August 9, 2001 Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest Miller It's the final show before WCW Mayhem and tonight our new announce team of Don callis and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller promised it would be a great show as Scott Steiner would be making an appearance tonight...his first since Night of Champions back in April! Also tonight, his opponent at Mayhem Goldberg would be going one-on-one in the main event with Shane Helms! All that and much more as we headed to the ring to start the show. Hugh Morrus & Dustin Rhodes vs. Double Jeopardy (w/Tammy Sytch) The team of Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido were looking for a momentum win heading into WCW Mayhem where they would be challenging The Filthy Animals for the WCW tag titles. While they had picked up two big victories over the champions earlier, Candido lost to Kidman last week on Thunder and this week on Nitro they lost a six man against The Filthy Animals and Andrew Martin. So looking to get back on track, they took on the recently teamed up Rhodes and Morrus, who worked well together again - but the more experienced duo of Candido and Bigelow showed much more fluid team work. Ultimately, Hugh Morrus would be knocked off the apron by Bigelow - allowing Bigelow and Candido to double team Rhodes. Bigelow hit the Greetings from Asbury Park to Rhodes before both Candido and Bigelow climbed to opposite turnbuckles and hit the Double Shot diving headbutts! Bigelow made the cover and got the three count! Big win for the challengers heading into Mayhem! WINNERS - Double Jeopardy by pinfall (68/65/72) ----- The Champion of Canada Backstage, WCW 'Canadian Heavyweight' Champion Lance Storm was standing by with Michelle Gold to promote his match at WCW Mayhem against fellow Canadian Andrew Martin. Gold asked if Martin had won any respect after being defeated in the ring by Martin in the six man tag on Nitro. Storm claimed that that victory was meaningless because it came at uneven odds as he was left in the ring alone with both Martin and Mysterio. Storm claimed that at Mayhem, he would prove why he is the champion of Canada as he would make Martin tap out to the official submission hold of Canada - The Canadian Mapleleaf. Storm told Martin that Canada doesn't want him as her champion. (68%) ----- Jamie Noble vs. Kaz Hayashi (w/Leia Meow) In another preview match for the Cruiserweight Mayhem match at Mayhem, Noble met up with Kaz Hayashi in singles competition. With Leia Meow at ringside, Kaz Hayashi was able to use her as a distraction to take control of Jamie Noble. The former Jung Dragon teammates know each other well, and it showed in the match as they went back and forth despite Meow's distractions at ringside. Noble rolled out of the way of a standing senton bomb from Kaz to open the door for himself. Noble looked on his way to victory after hitting a fireman's carry into a gutbuster, but when he went to the top rope to hit the Guillotine Legdrop, Kash appeared at ringside to continue his quest of taking out everyone involved in the Cruiserweight Mayhem match. A chairshot from Kash sent Noble off the top rope to the mat! Referee Billy Silverman immediately called for the bell. WINNER - Jamie Noble by disqualification (75/55/96) Noble received another chairshot to the back before Kash turned and crashed the chair across a recovering Hayashi's head! Kash was an equal opportunity destroyer...but things got out of hand for him when Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis, and Elix Skipper came running down to the ring! Kaz swung the chair at Juvi, but Juvi ducked and hit a dropkick to the chair - sending it back into Kash's face. It became an all out brawl with Skipper, Juvi, Psicosis, and Kash - even Hayashi and Noble recovered to join in the brawl. WCW officials flooded the ring to break up the six men...they would look to settle this at Mayhem! ----- Going Extreme Backstage, Michelle Gold had caught up with The Wall and Mike Sanders - who would be challenging Mike Awesome at Mayhem for the Extreme Championship in what was going to be a true clash of the titans. Gold wanted to get their thoughts on the match. Sanders first took us back to a few weeks ago when he was out attending to personal matters - and Jimmy Hart took it upon himself to put his monster The Wall against Terry Funk. And why did Hart do that? Because he wanted The Wall to do the dirty work for Mike Awesome. Well, Sanders said that that is not how we do things around here. The Wall is going to show why he's a force to be reckoned with in WCW. He's going to show that Mike Awesome is nothing more htan a push over behind that hard exterior. It's all an act...if anything we've seen what a softy Awesome is from his "Fat Chick Thriller" and "That 70's Guy" days. The Wall is no comedy act. The Wall is all business. And you're going to see that The Wall is in fact EXTREME! Starting right now with this "Extreme Mayhem" match that he's been put in...it'll be a nice warm up for what he's going to do at Mayhem! (76%) ----- WCW Extreme Mayhem Match The Wall vs. Midas vs. Big Vito vs. Sean O'Haire vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Terry Funk This match was added to Thunder to give us an idea of what to expect this Sunday in the WCW Cruiserweight Mayhem match. As the rules state, two men start the match and every two minutes another enters until all 6 men have entered. At any time, eliminations can occur by pinfall or submission. And in this particular match - since it's Extreme - weapons can be used! The Wall started the match off against the masked David Flair alias Midas. Midas seemed confident in his luchadore gear as he entered the ring and stared up at The Wall. Midas put his hands on his waist and pumped up his chest, trying to appear tough to The Wall...but The Wall simply kneed Midas in the midsection and chokeslammed him to the mat! Wall made the cover - One, Two, Three! Midas is eliminated! The Wall awaited the next entrant who was Big Vito! Vito came in with a singapore cane and whip it across Wall's midsection - and appeared to be fairing better against the big man than Midas did, but as the two minutes before the next entrant began to wind down...Wall hit Vito with a headbutt and then Chokeslammed him to the mat! Wall got the cover just as Sean O'Haire was entering the ring! Big Vito is eliminated! O'Haire stomped on The Wall's back before he could even get to his feet. O'Haire took Wall to the mat with a big belly-to-belly suplex, but a cover would only result in a two count. Sanders slid a chair into the ring for the recovering Wall, who grabbed it and jabbed it into O'Haire midsection! Wall began working over Dreamer as the clock ran down and Tommy Dreamer was the next entrant! Dreamer entered the ring with a 2x4 and snapped it in half across The Wall's back! O'Haire and Dreamer briefly worked together, getting The Wall to the corner where they worked him over...but The Wall suddenly powered out of the corner with a big double clothesline to both men! O'Haire stumbled back up to his feet first into the BIG BOOT from The Wall. The Wall then picked O'Haire back up and hit a spinout powerbomb and made the cover - One, Two, Three! Sean O'Haire is eliminated! Terry Funk was the final contestant - and he slid into the ring with chair in hand and took out both Dreamer and The Wall with chair shots! Funk was on fire against both contestants, and even Mike Sanders got a chairshot when he climbed onto the apron! Funk went for a pin on The Wall, but Wall powered right out! Dreamer and Funk tried to work together against The Wall...but Wall once again suddenly powered back against the duo. Each man received an uppercut from The Wall before Wall took out Dreamer with a backbreaker and Funk with a Military Press Slam! Wall would finish them off with a DOUBLE CHOKESLAM and pin both men at the same time to pick up the three count victory! Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk are eliminated WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (67/66/69) After a very impressive outting by The Wall, Mike Sanders entered the ring and proclaimed him the victor. The Wall now sets his sights on Mike Awesome and the WCW Extreme Title. ----- Uneasy Allies Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with WCW World Champion Booker T as we continue to build towards the big Sting vs. Booker T World Title match at WCW Mayhem. The number one issue on Booker T's agenda was the fact that Sting ALMOST wrecked his match against Ric Flair this past Tuesday on Nitro. Booker doesn't know what Sting's motives are and if he truly was just trying to 'help' - but he told Sting he didn't want his help, and if Sting respected him - he would've honored his wishes. Sting himself interrupted the interview to give his side of the story. He said he did respect Booker T, but that he couldn't sit around in the back and let him get beatdown before their match this Sunday. Like he said, he wants Booker T to be at 100%. Booker T told Sting to be 'careful what he wishes for' - because he is going to be 100% for Mayhem and he will be walking out as WCW Champion. Now can you dig that...SUUUCCKKKAAA???? (83%) ----- Audition Finals Alex Wright vs. Joey Matthews Evan Karagias and Shannon Moore were at ringside to watch as Alex Wright and Joey Matthews did battle for the open spot in the group 3-Count. Wright immediately grounded Matthews and worked the mat to keep the speedy cruiserweight from his niche offense. Karagias and Moore at ringside were very vocal and making it clear that they were rooting for Matthews to pick up the win here as they rooted for him at ringside. Wright seemd to be firmly in control however, hitting an impressive overhead belly to belly suplex to Matthews, put only picking up a two count. With pinfalls not working, Wright turned his attention to trying to make the youngster submit as he applied an STF. Matthews actually TAPPED OUT, but Shannon Moore was distracting referee Charles Robinson! Wright shoved Moore off the apron, but turned around into a spinning heel kick from Matthews! Matthews used this to his advantage and was on the offensive briefly before Wright fought his way back into the mat. But when Wright went for his Hangman's Neckbreaker, Moore once again climbed the apron! With Robinson distracted again, Evan Karagias entered the ring and attacked Wright from behind! A low blow doubled Wright over and Karagias rolled out of the ring onto the apron, calling Robinson over to him. With Karagias now distracting the referee, Shannon Moore entered the ring and hit the Bottoms Up to Wright! Moore left the ring and Karagias climbed down as Robinson turned around to see Matthews crawling over to make the cover - One, Two, Three! Joey Matthews has won his way into 3 Count! WINNER - Joey Matthews by pinfall via interference (69/61/77) After the match, Karagias and Moore climbed into the ring and celebrated with their new teammate. Matthews was clearly elated to have won and embraced his 3-count brethren with a group hug. They trio lifted their arms in victory to boos from the crowd. ----- A Debt Owed Backstage, Chris Kanyon was WALKING with his gym bag across his shoulder when he was approached from behind by "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase! Kanyon was startled, thinking it was Johnny Stamboli again, but wasn't exactly releaved to find out it was DiBiase. DiBiase revealed that he had loaned the money for Kanyon to bail Page out of jail. But it also reminded DiBiase of a certain period in Kanyon's career where he was calling himself "Champaign" Chris Kanyon. DiBiase seemed to recall he was the one bankrolling that 'character' of his. He said Kanyon certainly afford all those 'female escorts' he rolled around with or the high dollar champaign he carried around with him. DiBiase said it's very unusual for a loan like that to slip his mind...but now that he's taken more of DiBiase's money, he told Kanyon it was time for payment. Kanyon nervously said he didn't have the money right now...but he was good for it. DiBiase shook his head and told Kanyon he had ONE WEEK to pay him back everything he has lent him...from the money for Page's bail to the money for "Champaign" Chris Kanyon. 'You have ONE week' he reiterated before giving the trademark Million Dollar Man laugh before walking off. (82%) ----- Flair's Plan Elsewhere backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with former WCW Champion Ric Flair. Flair insisted that despite not being able to soften Booker T up for Mayhem - he was still following through with his plan to make sure Sting walks out of Mayhem as the WCW Champion. Flair said he felt naked without the WCW title and he just never feels complete unless he has it. And as long as Booker T still has it, he will continue to be naked. And nobody wants that! Flair promised that he and the Gentlemen's Club would do whatever it took within their power to make sure Booker t did NOT walk out of WCW Mayhem as WCW Champion! (98%) ----- MAIN EVENT Shane Helms vs. Goldberg Shane Helms certainly was going to have a big challenge in front of him tonight taking on the manbeast Goldberg. Helms has come a long way since his days in 3-Count, but he might not be ready to challenge the likes of Goldberg. Or atleast Goldberg wasn't ready for Helms to challenge him, as Goldberg appeared completely uninterested in selling for any of Helms' offense. Goldberg quickly shrugged off any offense Helms threw at him early, and took control of the smaller wrestler. Helms did manage later in the match to leap onto Goldberg's back from the top rope and apply a sleeper that almost grounded the powerhouse, but he charged backwards with Helms and sandwiched him in the corner. Goldberg pounded away on Helms in the corner until referee Mark Armstrong stepped in to pull Goldberg off, threatening him with disqualification. Helms used this as an opportunity as he springboarded off the ropes and hit a kick to the side of Goldberg's head that staggered Goldberg briefly. Helms' attempt to continue on the offensive proved futile as he ran right into a superkick from Goldberg. A Pumphandle Slam from Goldberg set Helms up for the SPEAR which ultimately led to the Jackhammer! Goldberg hooked Helms' leg - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Goldberg by pinfall (65/71/53) He's Back! After the match, Goldberg grabbed Helms and pulled him to his feet by his hair. He set up Helms for ANOTHER Jackhammer, but before he could hit it...the sirens started going off signaling Scott Steiner's eminent arrival! From the back, Steiner walked down to the ring to a decent face pop from the crowd. Goldberg dropped Helms, sending him rolling out of the ring - leaving Goldberg alone in the ring to confront Steiner as he very slowly made his way down to the ring. Steiner finally climbed into the ring and went nose to nose with Goldberg. The two were trading words as Don Callis hyped up their match at Mayhem. The show came to a close as the two suddenly started trading punches...but we were out of time! Tune in this Sunday for WCW Mayhem! (79%) OVERALL - 75% ---------

WCW Mayhem August 19th, 2001 Location: Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, CA Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti FreeView Pre-Show Match German Chocolate vs. 3 Count (w/Evan Karagias) Prior to the match, the new 3 count trio performed the classic 3 Count Song "Can't Get You Out of My Heart" with the promise of a brand new single with the new band member Joey Matthews would be coming soon. Matthews and Moore were the two representatives of the band in this preshow match that pit them against the two men who wanted so desperately to bring their dance act to 3-Count. Wright and Smiley worked well together as Matthews and Moore adjusted to their new team. Eventually they would work the kinks out however and take control over Alex Wright. Wright would get the hot tag to Smiley who came in with bodyslams all around. Wright and Smiley took time to dance over the fallen 3 Count members before Evan Karagias got involved. Wright went to ringside to take care of Karagias...but this left the door open for a double team from Moore and Matthews! Matthews lifted up Smiley into the air as Moore came off the middle turnbuckle with his Bottoms Up finisher! Shannon Moore made the cover for the three count victory! WINNERS - 3 Count by pinfall (73/66/81) ----- After a highlight package that focused on Sting and Booker T's interactions with Flair and the Gentlemen's Club over the past month as well as the hype of the return of Scott Steiner to take on Goldberg tonight - Mike Tenay and Glenn Gilberti thanked us for joining them for tonight's big event that would of course be headlined by that Steiner/Goldberg confrontation as well as the WCW Title match between Booker T and Sting. But there would be PLENTY of action to go around tonight. WCW Cruiserweight Mayhem Kash vs. Psicosis vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Jamie Noble vs. "Prime Time" Elix Skipper vs. Kaz Hayashi Starting the match out was Jamie Noble and Elix Skipper. These two would go out at it for the first two minutes before the next entrant would come out. The duo went back and forth right away - each trying to get a quick pinfall to have the advantage going into the rest of the match. Skipper hit a nasty spinning heel kick to Noble and almost got that quick three count - but Noble got his shoulder up. Noble took Skipper to the mat with a drop toe hold and applied an STF as the time expired and Psicosis made his way down to the the ring. He springboarded in and hit a senton splash to both Noble and Skipper! The two minutes fresher Psicosis went for the pin on Skipper - but Noble broke it up! Noble and Psicosis began to exchange offense until Skipper recovered. Noble was attempt a German Suplex to Psicosis, but Skipper came up behind Noble and it became a Triple German Suplex! Skipper took advantage and made the pin on Noble - One, Two, Three! Jamie Noble has been eliminated! Skipper tried to get the pin on Psicosis as well, but Psicosis surprised Skipper with a cradle! One, Two, Th...kickout! As both men got back to their feet, it was time for the next entrant which was Kaz Hayashi! Hayashi entered the ring and immediately hit Skipper with a dropkick. He then took Psicosis to the mat with a snap suplex. Hayashi went fo the cover, but Skipper broke it up. As Hayashi was getting to his feet, Psicosis took him down with a running head scissor take down! Psicosis continued on the attack - lifting Hayashi up into a fireman's carry, and attempting to turn it into a swinging DDT, but Hayashi reversed it and hit Psicosis with a tornado DDT of his own! Hayashi was unable to follow up with the pin as Skipper attacked him from behind with a neckbreaker! As Juventud Guerrera made his way out, Skipper hit the Play of the Day to Hayashi! Skipper made the cover - One, Two, Th...Juvi broke it up with a springboard legdrop! A stunned Skipper was then lifted up by Juvi - JUVI DRIVER! Juvi then bounced off the ropes, JUICY ELBOW to Skipper! Juvi made the cover - One, Two, Three! Elix Skipper has been eliminated! Psicosis returned to his feet and the Mexico's Most Wanted team began to use their friendship to their advantage as they double teamed Kazy Hayashi! A bridging Dragon Suplex from Juvi to Kaz would only get a two count before Hayashi kicked out. As the double team continud, the final entrant Kash very slowly made his way down to the ring. He took his time as Psicosis hit the Pyscho Stunner to Kaz! Psicosis made the cover - One, Two, Three! Kaz Hayashi has been eliminated! As Kash continued to stay at ringside, Psicosis and Juvi looked to each other. They nodded and Psicosis got down on all fours as Juvi bounced off the ropes and used Psicosis as a springboard to hit the AIR JUVI out onto Kash! Psicosis rolled out of the ring as both men hit the floor. Psicosis grabbed Kash by his long hair and rolled him back into the ring. Kash begged on ihs knees for a breather, but as Psicosis moved in anyway - Kash gave him a low blow! Kash rolled up Psicosis and used the tights for leverage to get a three count! Psicosis has been eliminated! Juvi rolled back into the ring as it was him and Kash as the final two contending for a shot at the WCW Cruiserweight Title. We were reminded that Kash was promised another $25 if he won this match and subsequently laid down for Chavo. Kash seemed to have all intentions of following through with the plan as he immediately went to work on the last man standing between him and that goal. Kash nearly picked up the win off an inverted brainbuster that drove Juvi's head down into his knee! But somehow Juvi was able to get his shoulder up just before the three count. Kash continued on the offensive, hitting a Double Jump Moonsault to Juvi that only got a two count as well. Frustration began to set in as Kash struggled to keep his cool as Juvi kept kicking out. Kash tried to finish Juvi off with the Money Maker doubleunderhook piledriver - but Juvi countered with a backdrop! Both men rolled back to their feet and Juvi hit an enziguri to the rushing Kash! After a double underhook powerbomb, Juvi pointed to the top rope! Juvi pulled Kash over to the corner before climbing to the top rope...450 SPLASH! Juvi stayed on for the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Juventud Guerrera by pinfall (78/67/89) Backstage, WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero watched on in disgust as his plan didn't fall through the way he had hoped. Back in the ring, Juvi climbed the turnbuckles and celebrated to a decent reaction from the crowd. ----- WCW Extreme Championship Match Mike Awesome (c) (w/Jimmy Hart) vs. The Wall (w/Mike Sanders In match that put powerhouse against powerhouse, as you might imagine this was a hard hitting contest. But any time you have two heels going at it one-on-one, the crowd is going to suffer from not having anyone to root for. So they pretty much sat on their hands in this one as these two slugged it out in what was by all standards a pretty good hardcore match. They kept it clean early, sticking to the basics of brawling before the managers started to get involved - tossing various weapons to their respective beast. At one point we had ourselves a dueling chairshot challenge as Wall and Awesome took turns hitting each other with the chair, only to have the other shake it off and give one in return. Eventually Awesome grew tired of this and drove the chair into Wall's breadbasket instead to double the big man over. Awesome took Wall to the mat with a DDT as Hart slid a table into the ring. Not to be outdone, Mike Sanders set one up at ringside himself! After a two count, Awesome went back on the attack before setting the table up in the ring. Awesome attempted to get Wall onto the table, but that proved futile as Wall fought back! A headbutt staggered Awesome enough for Wall to lay him out with a big boot! Wall showed off his strength as he lifted Awesome up in a Military Press - and tossed him out of the ring! Tenay said he had never seen anyone manhandle Mike Awesome like that! Outside the ring, Wall continued on the offensive as Jimmy Hart tried to get involved - but Mike Sanders stepped in and shoved Hart out of the way! But Awesome was able to fight his way back as he sent Wall crashing into the ring steps. It looked like Awesome might put Wall away as they would battle their way back to the apron where Awesome slammed Wall's head into the turnbuckle before Awesome climbed back into the ring...only to come back out as he leaped over The staggered Wall for a sunsetflip Awesome Bomb through the table at ringside! Tenay was in disbelief at Awesome's agility and for sure this was the end of the Wall! Awesome picked Wall up and slowly rolled the big man back into the ring. Awesome was slow to climb back into the ring and make the cover - One, Two, Thre....NO KICKOUT! Awesome, Hart, and our announce team were shocked as Wall kicked out! Awesome tried not to lose his cool as he pulled Wall back to his feet and rolled him onto the table in the ring! Awesome climbed the turnbuckles and came off with the Awesome Splash...but Wall rolled off the table and Awesome crashed through by himself! Suddenly the 'tables' were turned as Wall was firmly in control! Wall reached down and grabbed Awesome by the throat. Wall pulled Awesome up by his throat alone and CHOKE SLAMMED him back to the broken shards of wood from the table! Wall made the cover - One, Two, Three! The Wall has won the Extreme Championship Title! WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (63/43/84) After the match, a furious Jimmy Hart tried to get Awesome out of the ring as Mike Sanders handed the Extreme Title to The Wall and lifted his arm in victory! ----- Diamond Dallas Page vs. Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli (w/Kimberly Page) The next chapter in the on-going saga of the Page/Stamboli feud unfoled as Page got another shot at the man his wife chose to 'replace' page. Stamboli gave Page a beating at Great American Bash that resulted in Page missing Bash at the Beach - but he returned the Nitro after and nearly decapitated Stamboli with his truck. Tonight Page showed that he still was interested in just delivering nothing but a beating to Stamboli as there would be few wrestling moves from Page. In fact, the match quality suffered as the enraged Page sold poorly anytime Stamboli was on the offensive and slowly brawled his way through the match when he himself was on offense. Page nearly got himself disqualified a few times as he choked Stamboli across the ropes only to have referee Charles Robinson warn him and break the hold. Kimberly attempted to get involved to help Stamboli out, this distracted Page and Robinson long enough for Stamboli to hit a low blow to Page to slow Page's offense down significantly. With Stamboli taking over, he took Page to the mat with a powerslam, but was only able to get a two count. Stamboli continued in control, getting another nearfall off of a spinebuster - but Page wasn't staying down and it was causing Kimberly a ton of concern at ringside. She shouted at to Stamboli to stop fooling around and finish him off. Stamboli hit a DDT to Page and began to climb to the top turnbuckle. An attempt of a diving legdrop failed as Page rolled out of the way! Stamboli stumbled back to his feet, holding his rear in pain as Page got to his feet and went back on the attack with rights and lefts to stagger Stamboli before taking him to the mat with a discuss clothesline! Page went for the Diamond Cutter - only to have Stamboli shove him off into the ropes and drop Page with a shoulderblock. Stamboli stomped away on the fallen Page before he picked him up and signaled he was going to end the match. He lifted Page up for the Fuh-get-a-bout-it - but Page freed himself and slid down Stamboli's back. Stamboli was spun around - DIAMOND CUTTER to a pop from the crowd! Page hooked the leg - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Diamond Dallas Page by pinfall (65/72/50) Afer the match, as Page was getting to his feet - an outraged Kim entered the ring and approached Page from behind. A startled Page, out of instinct, dropped Kim with a Diamond Cutter! The crowd loved it, but Page was in shock when he got to his feet. He showed sincere concern as he realized it was his wife he had just hit with the Diamond Cutter! He kneeled down to check on her as referee Charles Robinson called for medics from the back! Page helped the WCW officials get Kim to her feet and take her to the back while Stamboli was still struggling to get to his feet himself. ----- WCW Tag Team Championships Match The Filthy Animals (c) (w/Torrie) vs. Double Jeopardy (w/Tammy Sytch) The challengers had earned this title shot after dominating the champions in a non-title match and a singles match where Bam Bam Bigelow overpowered the smaller Rey Mysterio. The Animals came prepared with a gameplan tonight, not looking for a repeat of the first time they stepped into the ring with Bigelow and Candido. As expected by the Animals, Bigelow started the match out for the challengers. So Rey started the match for the champions. Rey avoided Bigelow's grasps at all costs - remaining in constant motion and hitting dropkicks to Bigelow's knees. Rey and Kidman tagged each other in and out with fast fury, each staying at speed and avoiding Bigelow while hitting quick offensive manuevers to the bigger man's legs until they both hit a simultaneous springboard double dropkick to Bigelow that took him off his feet to the mat! A frustrated Bigelow tagged in Candido, which was the Animals game plan all along. With Candido in the ring, the Animals stood a better chance and matched up more evenly. Kidman and Candido went back and forth with Kidman eventually taking control and bringing Rey back in. Candido was struggling against the champions until Tammy tripped Rey off the ropes! This allowed Candido to pounce and he immediately placed Rey in an armbar to ground the aerial star. As Candido worked to keep Rey grounded, Bigelow was itching to get back into the ring. Candido tagged in Bigelow and he immedaitely went to work on Rey who was now unable to use his speed to his advantage. Bigelow tossed Rey around the ring like a ragdoll, completely dominating the offense. After a big splash to a fallen Rey, Bigelow hooked the leg, but only got a two count before Kidman broke it up! Bigelow went back on the attack, but everytime he tried to put Rey away - Kidman was there to make the save. Bigelow brought Candido back in as he needed a breather from all the ass kicking he was giving out. Bigelow picked up his own partner into a Military Press and dropped him across Rey! One, Two, kickout by Rey! Candido continued on the attack, but an attempt of a powerbomb by Candido was reversed into a rana! Rey used this opportunity to get the hot tag to Kidman who springboarded into the ring with a clothesline to Candido! Kidman kept up the attack and dropped Candido with a diving bulldog. Bigelow entered the ring and looked to grab Kidman, but Kidman ducked and hit a dropkick to Bigelow's knee that sent the big man stumbling over across the middle rope...allowing Rey to bounce off the rope and hit the 6-1-9! The stiff kick to Bigelow's face sent him to the mat as Kidman hit the Kid Krusher to Candido! Kidman made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - The Filthy Animals by pinfall (75/67/83) Torrie entered the ring with the tag titles and handed them to the champions who once again have overcome the odds to retain their tag titles! Tammy attempted to regroup her men at ringside, who were visibly upset about their loss. ----- Six-Man Tag Match Shane Helms & The Outsiders vs. The Gentlemen's Club (w/Stacy Keibler) The crowd still loves the duo of Nash and Hall despite them getting up their in age. Never is that more evident than when Nash is actually in the ring as he goes through the motions, just hitting the five or six moves he's known for...Hall still seems to have some wrestling ability left in the tank, but most of the talent on this team was definitely contained with Shane Helms - who did most of the in-ring work for the face team. On the heel side, Hennig, Jindrak, and Stasiak definitely had something to prove as their record among the Gentlemen's Club stars could use some boosting. To start the match of, Hall immediately went to work on Jindrak and the veteran easily overtook the youngster before tagging in Nash, who just picked up where Hall left off. Jindrak managed to get the tag to Stasiak who ran right into a Big Boot from Nash! Stasiak then at the Snake Eyes across the top turnbuckle before Nash set him up for the Jackknife Powerbomb...but Hennig attacked Nash from behind to break it up! Nash chased Hennig back out of the ring and tagged in Helms. The fiery Helms came in strong and looked good on offense against Stasiak, but Jindrak snuck a knee to Helms' back that slowed him down and allowed Stasiak to hit a swinging neckbreaker to Helms. Stasiak used this chance to tag in Hennig. Hennig entered the ring and began to methodically pick apart Helms and isolate him from making a tag to either one of his Outsiders teammates. Hennig, Stasiak, and Jindrak took turns working over Helms in the ring which resulted in double and sometimes triple teams against Helms as anytime Hall or Nash tried to enter the ring - they would inadvertantly make things worse as referee Nick Patrick would come over to warn them - allowing for more double/triple teams from the Gentlemen's Club. With Hall and Nash firing up the crowd to get behind Helms, Helms fought his way back to his feet and took out Jindrak with a Shining Wizard! Both men were down and working to get to the corner...but Stacy Keibler climbed onto the apron and distracted the referee just as Helms was making the tag to Hall! Hall entered the ring and caught an incoming Jindrak with the Fallaway Slam! But Referee Nick Patrick had not seen either tag! So it was still Helms and Stasiak who were the legal men! A surprised Helms was caught off guard as Stasiak hit him with a backbreaker! Stasiak tagged in Hennig who went back to work on Helms. Once again Helms started to fight his way back and hit the SUGAR SMACK to Hennig! Both men were down once again and Helms started to make the crawl to the corner to tag in Hall or Nash...but Jindrak and Stasiak had left their corner and they each grabbed one of the Outsiders and pulled them off the apron! Suddenly Hall and Nash were brawling with Stasiak and Jindrak at ringside as Helms made it to the corner but found no one to tag! A distraught Helms tried to make the best of the situation as he climbed to the top turnbuckle. He came off with a flying splash, but Hennig rolled out of the way! Hennig got back to his feet as Helms staggered up to a waiting Hennig...HENNIGPLEX! ONE, TWO, Nash tried to climb back into the ring to break up the pin, but Jindrak had his leg - THREE! WINNERS - The Gentlemen's Club by pinfall (75/78/70) Post match, Hennig escaped the ring as Nash and Hall both were able to get back into the ring. Hennig, Stasiak, Jindrak, and Keibler all celebrated their victory up the ramp as Hall and Nash regrouped in the ring, helping Shane Helms back up to his feet. ----- WCW United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title Match Lance Storm (c) vs. Andrew Martin Could Andrew Martin show Storm that he was not a disgrace to the 'Canadian' legacy and win the 'Canadian Heavyweight Title' - or would Lance Storm remain supreme as the true champion of Canada? From the start of the match it looked like it was going to be a toss up as it was going back and forth the whole way. The crowd was as into this match as they were all night as they were getting behind Martin to try and get the title off Storm. After some chain wrestling from Storm got him the control early, Martin fought right back and tried to overpower Storm. After a gutwrench powerbomb, Martin looked for the pin but only got a two count on the champion. When Martin tried to finish Storm off early with the Big Boot, Storm ducked and used a legsweep to take Martin to the mat! Storm began working over Martin's leg to try and keep him off his feet. Storm applied a leg scissors to him, but Martin made it to the ropes to break up the hold. Martin started to get to his feet, but Storm took him right back down with a leg lariat. Storm continued on the attack, eventually getting Martin in the corner and setting him on the top turnbuckle. Storm seemed ot be gearing up for a superplex to Martin, but Martin fought back and tossed Storm off the turnbuckles to the mat! Storm landed on his back and Martin came off the top with an elbowdrop! Martin looked for the pin - One, Two, Thre...Storm barely got his shoulder up as we were that close to crowning a new champion. Storm looked to finish Storm off with the Pumphandle Slam, but Storm slid down Martin's back and hit a modified backbreaker with Storm driving his both knees into Martin's back! Storm immediately grabbed Martin's leg and rolled him over into the Canadian Maple Leaf! Referee Billy Silverman checked on Martin, but he was not giving up. The crowd got to their feet, encouraging Martin to find the drive to break the hold. Martin used his strength to get to the ropes and successfully break the hold. Martin shoved Storm off as he stumbled back to his feet and went for a clothesline, but Storm ducked and Martin clotheslined Silverman! Storm went for a superkick, but Martin caught Storm's leg and then hit a belly to belly suplex to Storm! Suddenly Martin was in the driver's seat, but without a ref it wasn't much good. Martin began to set up Storm for the Pumphandle Slam...but suddenly Crowbar ran down from the back with a crowbar in hand! He slid into the ring as Martin had Storm lifted up. Crowbar swung the crowbar and smashed it right into Martin's kneecap! Martin collapsed to the mat as Storm got to his feet in confusion as Crowbar rolled back out of the ring. As Silverman was getting back to consciousness, Storm took advantage of the situation as he grabbed that crowbar'd leg and turned Martin over into the Canadian Mapleleaf! Martin was in too much to fight the hold and immediately tapped out. WINNER - Lance Storm by submission via interference (81/82/81) - The WCW United States title has gained in image. Storm lifted up his title to loud boos from the crowd while Crowbar stood watching from the ramp. Crowbar's usually lost and demented look was gone and replaced with a more stern grin. Storm met eyes with Crowbar and Crowbar smirked before walking backstage. Tenay and Gilberti were left to wonder just what that was all about. ----- Steiner's Return Scott Steiner vs. Goldberg The much anticipated Goldberg/Steiner confrontation brew to a boiling point tonight as Steiner finally made his first appearance since Night of Champions when Shane McMahon took control. The two former WCW Champion powerhouses clashed in what was nothing more than a boring punch-a-thon as Steiner was showing a lot of ring rust for someone who was mainly a slow brawler to begin with. While the crowd was hot at first for the return of Steiner to hopefully match up to the machine Goldberg, they quickly grew bored with the lack of excitement in the actual match. They started off exchange punches, with the returning Steiner getting the best of that exchange. Goldberg battled back, punching his way into control before hitting a kneelift to Steiner. Goldberg worked Steiner over in the corner before Steiner himself battled back and took Goldberg to the mat with a belly-to-belly suplex. Steiner already seemed gassed as he went for the pin but only got a two count. Steiner tried to stay on the offensive, but Goldberg was back up before we knew it and fighting back against Steiner. Goldberg hit a front suplex to Steiner and began violently choking Goldberg on the mat! Referee Mark Armstrong stepped in, but was shoved away by Goldberg! Armstrong threatened disqualification and Goldberg let go, but went back to putting the boots to Steiner. Steiner fought through the boots and began to battle back against Goldberg, eventually sending both of them over the top rope to the floor! They continued their slow brawl around ringside as the fans even began to chant "BORING" as Steiner slammed Goldberg's head into the apron, only to have Goldberg no-sell it and slam Steiner's head into the apron instead! As the two continued to fight at ringside - Armstrong was busy counting both men out! Armstrong was up to 6 when Goldberg tried to get back into the ring - but Steiner wasn't finished with him yet. Steiner pulled Goldberg back down off the apron and tossed him into the ringsteps. Steiner put the boots to Goldberg against the ring steps....7...8....Goldberg used his legs to kick Steiner away and battle his way back to his feet....9...10! Ring the bell! WINNER - Draw via double countout (70/81/46) Neither man seemed to care that the bell had rung. They kept right on brawling around ringside as Mark Armstrong called for help from the back. More WCW officials and security came down to ringside to help seperate the two powerhouses. They finally got them apart after several attempts that were unsuccessful. This was clearly not over, unfortunately for the fans. ----- WCW World Title Match Booker T (c) vs. Sting The fans were divided about who to cheer for, but overall were alive for the match as two of their favorites competed for the WCW World Title. In their eyes, it had to be a win-win situation. Sting offered a handshake to start the match, but after recent developments in their relationship, Booker decided he didn't want to shake Sting's hand. They locked up to start the match and Sting immediately seemed to take control as he locked Booker in a headlock. A go-behind by Sting resulted in a back suplex that immediately took the champ down to the mat. Sting stayed on the attack as Booker got back to his feet, hitting a pair of atomic drops before dropping the champ with a clothesline. Booker rolled back up once more and was met by chops from Sting that sent Booker back into the corner. In the corner, Sting continued to work over the champion before Irish Whipping him into the opposite corner. Sting ran in for an early Stinger Splash, but Booker moved out of the way and Sting collided with the turnbuckles. Sting stumbled out of the corner into a spinning crescent kick from Booker that took the Stinger to the mat. Booker continued on the offensive, keeping Sting on defense with multiple kick variations to wear his challenger down. Booker eventually worked Sting into the corner where he fired several backhand chops to Sting as the crowd cheered the champion on. Booker then continued to wear down Sting with some knee strikes to his body. Sting stumbled out of the corner into a sidewalk slam from Booker T - One, Two, T...kickout by Sting. Booker tried to stay on the attack as he began to pull Sting up, but Sting reached up and punched Booker right in the throat! Booker was taken aback and Sting used that opportunity to retake control of the match. A staggered Booker was taken down by a one-handed bulldog from Sting! Sting worked over Booker T, eventually slamming him to the mat with a Military Press Slam. Sting bounced off the ropes and hit a jumping splash to the fallen Booker and got a two count. Before Booker could get back to his feet, Sting dropped a kneedrop down onto Booker and went for another pin, but once again only got two. Sting sent Booker into the ropes and went for a clothesline, but Booker ducked and bounced off the ropes again coming back with a leaping forearm shot to Sting! Booker went back on the offensive and was looking good until he went for the 110th Street Slam, but Sting escaped down Booker's back and rolled him up for a two count! Sting met Booker back to his feet with some chops and sent him into the turnbuckle - STINGER SPLASH! Sting sent Booker into the opposite corner for a second STINGER SPLASH! Out of the corner, Sting lifted up Booker - SPINEBUSTER! Sting held onto Booker's legs and stepped through, turning him over into the Scorpion Deathlock! Would Booker T tap out? Referee Nick Patrick checked on Booker who frantically shook his head no as he tried to reach the ropes. He valiantly fought through and made it to the bottom rope where Nick Patrick broke up the hold. Sting grabbed Booker and began to pull him up, but Booker grabbed Sting and pulled him head first into the top turnbuckle! A stumbling Sting walked right into the Harlem Sidekick! Booker went for the pin - One, Two, Th...kickout! Both men were slow to their feet, but Booker met Sting with a kick to the midsection...off the ropes and Booker hit the SCISSORS KICK! The crowd came alive as Booker used the spinaroonie to get to his feet! Booker was on fire and instead of waiting for Sting to get up to go for the Bookend, he instead turned Sting over into his own version of the Scorpion Deathlock that he used to defeat Ric Flair at Bash at the Beach! As Nick Patrick checked on Sting...Ric Flair, Curt Hennig, Shawn Stasiak, and Mark Jindrak rushed down to ringside! Flair and Hennig first entered the ring and were met by Nick Patrick, but Hennig laid out Nick Patrick with a right hand! Flair attacked Booker from behind - and Hennig and Flair both worked over Booker T in the corner. Jindrak and Stasiak climbed into the ring as well and it was four-on-one to Booker T as the crowd booed the Gentlemen Club loudly. Sting rolled out of the ring, still recovering...but grabbed something under the ring as the Gentlemen's Club was still stomping a mudhole into Booker T on the mat. Sting slid back into the ring...armed with his baseball bat! Jindrak was first to turn around and get taken out by the bat. Stasiak then walked right into a bat to the gut. Hennig got it next and was sent packing from the ring. Flair decided not to mess with Sting, and rolled out of the ring. Sting watched Flair walk around the ring and head back up the ramp as Hennig, Stasiak, and Jindrak also tucked their tails between their legs and exited up the ramp. Sting tossed his bat away and extended his hand down to Booker T. A beaten Booker T accepted the hand and was pulled back to his feet. Sting called for another referee, bringing Charles Robinson down from the back! The match was going to continue! Sting asked Booker if he was okay to continue, and Booker nodded that he was. They locked up and Sting immediately took control of the weary Booker T. He sent Booker into the corner and hit another STINGER SPLASH! Sting pulled Booker out of the corner and pulled his head back, setting him up for the Scorpion Death Drop...but Booker countered and pulled himself free...BOOKEND OUT OF NOWHERE! Booker T hooked the leg - ONE, TWO, THREE! WINNER - Booker T by pinfall (78/83/69) The crowd was on their feet as Booker T pulled himself up and accepted his World Title from Charles Robinson. Booker T threw the belt up in his hand to a big ovation from the crowd. Sting slowly pulled himself up and Booker stared him down...and NOW extended his hand out in respect to his opponent. Sting, feeling crushed by his defeat, was hesitant at first, but accepted the handshake and then lifted Booker's arm up. Sting pointed to Booker and patted him on the back. The show came to a close as Sting left Booker in the ring to celebrate his victory. OVERALL - 75% Edited by Dubb, Aug 8 2011, 01:41 PM.

WCW Tuesday Nitro August 14, 2001 Live from the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti The show kicked off with clips from WCW Mayhem - strongly featuring Booker T and Sting's match for the WCW World Title which saw heavy interference from The Gentlemen's Club. However, in the end, the Gentlemen's Club's plan was foiled as Sting cleared the ring of the Club but went on to lose the match to Booker T. Also featured heavily was the showdown between the returning Scott Steiner against the Club's Goldberg that ended in a draw due to a double countout. To kick the show off, Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan made his way down to the ring to big ovation from the crowd. Hogan was in the ring to get down to business because next month would mark the return of one of his favorite WCW annual events...FALL BRAWL. Hogan ran down the history of Fall Brawl and said that there were a couple of idiots who took over in 1999 decided to get rid of the classic War Games match. Well guess what brother, it's about time for the WAR GAMES to make their return! Hogan announced that the Board of Directors had voted unanimously to bring back the classic battle inside the double ringed steel cage. They also decided that the winning team of War Games at Fall Brawl would be given the authority to book October's event...Halloween Havoc! That's a lot of power to be giving a group of wrestlers... Hogan wanted to announce the two captains for War Games. The first captain would be none other than "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair came down to the ring and joined Hogan. After a brief staredown, Flair said that it would be pretty obvious who the remaining four members of his team would be. It wouldn't be right for him to choose anyone else...so joining him in War Games would be his four Gentlemen's Club teammates - Goldberg, Curt Hennig, Mark Jindrak, and Shawn Stasiak! The captain of the team who would be going up against The Gentlemen's Club would of course be WCW World Champion Booker T! Booker T made his way down to the ring in street clothes with the WCW title around his shoulder. He received a big pop from the crowd as he climbed into the ring and faced off with Flair. Booker took the microphone and said that unlike Flair, he was going to have to put a lot of thought into his team. He wants to make sure he puts together the best possible team to match up against The Gentlemen's Club. But he already knew one man he wanted on his team, and he would waist no time announcing him as the second member of team Booker and that would, of course, be none other than the man they call Sting! The Wolfpack theme hit the PA system, bringing out Scott Hall and Kevin Nash down to the ring to a decent reaction from the crowd. The Outsiders joined Booker T, Flair, and Hogan in the ring. "Hey yo" - Hall greeted them before Nash began to state their case for joining Team Booker. Hall and Nash said they came back specifically to be a part of taking out The Gentlemen's Club, and after falling short last night - they felt like this is what they needed to be doing. Booker said that he would definitely put them into consideration because both Nash and Hall have a lengthy and successful resume in WCW. "Pyscho" hit the PA system, bringing out the current WCW Tag Team Champions Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman - The Filthy Animals. The tag champs apparently wanted to throw their name in the hat as well. Mysterio and Kidman point out that they know what it takes to defeat the Gentlemen's Club, as they have done it before pointing out their title victories over Stasiak and Jindrak, and says that they have the experienced success of beating the Gentlemen's Club that Booker is looking for on his team. Booker said that they too make good points...in fact - but he just can't decide between the two teams. So he said that tonight - with Hulk Hogan's blessing - he wanted to put The Outsiders against The Filthy Animals and that team would earn a spot on Team Booker! "VERTEBREAKER!" The list of people wanting to join Team Booker wasn't over yet as Shane Helms walked out from the back to join the group in the ring. Helms said that despite what happened at Mayhem, he feels that he could be the wildcard in this equation. Plus, he's still waiting to get his hands once again on Ric Flair! Helms wanted the opportunity to be on the team as well! Booker said Helms certainly deserved that right, so he once again asked for Hogan's blessing before giving Helms the opportunity to earn a spot on the team if he can beat a member of the Gentlemen's Club right here, right now! Flair objected, but Hogan quieted him down. Booker named Helms' opponent as Curt Hennig! Hogan announced that that match would be NEXT! (89%) ----- Shane Helms vs. Curt Hennig It was Curt Hennig who got the pinfall victory for the Gentlemen's Club over Shane Helms at Mayhem that gave the Gentlemen's Club the win in the six man tag match...so not only was Helms looking for a spot on Team Booker in the War Games match, but he was also looking for some retribution. Hennig immediately picked up where he left off last night against Helms - and thats by grounding the smaller man and taking control. Hennig spent the majority of the match working Helms over with restholds to keep him from being able to use his speed and aerial based attack. With the crowd behind him, Helms worked his way back into the match and took Hennig by surprise with the Shining Wizard. Helms was only able to pick up a two count however, but he suddenly found himself in control of the stunned Hennig. After a couple more nearfalls by Helms, he went for the Sugar Smack, but Hennig caught his leg and pulled him into a belly to belly suplex! Hennig made the pin - but only got two. Hennig continued working over Helms - eventually setting him up for the HennigPlex, but Helms broke free and reversed it into the Nightmare On Helms Street out of nowhere! Helms hooked the leg - One, Two, Three! Big win by Helms that earns him a spot on Team Booker at War Games! WINNER - Shane Helms by pinfall ----- Another Shot Kash made his way down to the ring to some mild heel heat from the crowd. Kash took the microphone and explained how disappointed he was that he failed to win the WCW Cruiserweight Mayhem match at Mayhem...more so that he let down Chavo and most importantly he didn't get another $25 thousand dollars! But, Chavo is very forgiving..in fact, Chavo has given him another chance to get that money...all he has to do is destroy Juventud Guerrera in the ring tonight! "DO YOU FEEL WHAT THE JUICE IS SQUEEZIN'" Juventud Guerrera made his way down to the ring as Tenay mentioned he was the new number one contender to Chavo Guerrero's WCW Cruiserweight Title after winning the Cruiserweight Mayhem match. Juvi entered the ring and announced that "FINALLY, THE JUICE HAS COME BACK TO THE COW PALACE!" Juvi made some cow jokes and made fun of the fact that it looked like Kash used to milk cows before he became a wrestler. Juvi asked Kash what job he had before being a wrestler...Kash started to answer..."IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR JOB BEFORE BEING A WRESTLER WAS" Juvi interrupted. Juvi said that tonight he was going to whoop his white ass in front of the THOUSANDS....AND THOUSANDS of the Juice's fans! "AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE, BECAUSE THE JUICE SAID SO." Juvi seems to be getting his imitations confused... (68%) ----- Kash vs. "The Juice" Juventud Guerrera Juvi definitely appears to be getting some crowd support as they were solidly behind him in this great back and forth match up between these two. After some initial fast and furious offense from both men - Kash grounded Juvi and became a little more violent than we're used to from the cruiserweights as he tried to pick Juvi apart to appease Chavo and earn him some extra money. Chavo Guerrero even made an appearance, walking down to ringside to watch his number one contender in action. This proved to be a distraction for The Juice after he had started to take back control of the match. Chavo's distraction gave Kash the edge once again. Kash attempted the Money Maker, but Juvi countered with a backdrop only to have Kash counter that with a roll up! Kash used the ropes, but this was caught by Billy Silverman who broke up the pin after noticing Kash's cheating. Chavo jumped onto the apron, distracting the ref as he also slid the Cruiserweight Title in to Kash! Kash picked up the belt and swung it at Juvi...but Juvi ducked and kicked Kash right between the legs! Juvi kicked the belt out of the ring and delivered the JUVI DRIVER to Kash! Juvi went for the JUICY ELBOW, but just as he was about to deliver it, Chavo attacked him from behind to draw the disqualification! WINNER - Juventud Guerrera by disqualification (87/75/100) Kash and Chavo began double teaming Juvi...until Juvi's partner Psicosis sprinted down to the ring to make the save and even the odds up. Juvi battled back alongside Psicosis and together they managed to clear the ring of Chavo and Kash. The champ and Kash regrouped up the aisle as Juvi and Psicosis celebrated in the ring. ----- Hell to Pay Backstage, Scott Hudson was standing by with Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli who had some strong words for Diamond Dallas Page after Page accidentally dropped Kimberly with the Diamond Cutter after defeating the Bull at Mayhem. Stamboli suggested that it was no accident, and that Page can pretend that it was all he wants...we all know Page has been in movies so he knows how to act. Hudson asked how she was doing - Stamboli said she was recovering and wanted to be here this week, but he told her not this week. But next week, there would be Hell to pay. He said Kim would be there NEXT week when he took on DDP in another match...and he was going to make him pay for what he did to Kim! (78%) Speaking of which, Mike Tenay mentioned that on this week's Thunder there will be a very special sit down interview he had with Diamond Dallas Page earlier today! ----- WCW Extreme Championship Match The Wall (c) (w/Mike Sanders) vs. Terry Funk The brand new Extreme Champion made his way out give Terry Funk another title shot...Gilberti wondered how many title shots Terry Funk was going to get. Well, one thing is for sure - Funk certainly makes the best out of any shot he gets as even matched up against an even bigger challenge than with Mike Awesome, Funk still gave it his all and took a beating like the professional he is. As usual in a Funk match, he just kept taking a beating and getting up for more...which only egged Mike Sanders on to push his monster to deliver MORE punishment. Ultimately Funk got in limited offense against the new champion as he looked dominant, putting Funk away with his Chokeslam for the definitive three count. WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (69/65/74) After the match, The Wall was looking to dish out some more punishment - but out came the former Extreme Champion, Mike Awesome! The Wall dropped Funk and watched as Awesome made his way down to the ring with Jimmy Hart. They both climbed into the ring and Awesome walked right up to the wall, confronting him...the two stared each other down as Funk was starting to get to his feet....suddenly Awesome turned and laid out Funk with a clothesline! Mike Sanders gave a sinister smile as Wall joined in and it was a two on one beatdown of Terry Funk at the hands of The Wall and Mike Awesome! Awesome laid out Funk with the Awesome Bomb! As Tenay and Gilberti commented on the attack in utter confusion after witnessing these two try to kill each other Sunday night, their confusion continues as Mike Sanders and Jimmy Hart shake hands! The segment came to an end as The Wall and Mike Awesome stood side by side to the boos of the crowd. ----- Another Name in the Hat Backstage, Scott Hudson was standing by with "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner. Steiner regretted getting here late tonight because he missed out on everyone putting their name in the hat to be on Team Booker. He said that after Sunday night at Mayhem, he got a taste of Goldberg and he said he was ready for a full helping, whatever that means. He said that he may have missed on it, but he was pretty much demanding a spot on Team Booker so he could get his hands on Goldberg again. He knew that he and Booker have had their differences in the past - but he's hoping Booker will look past that and be willing to give him a spot on the team anyway because with Big Poppa Pump on the team, there's no way they could lose. "HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME!" (87%) ----- United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title Match Lance Storm (c) vs. Andrew Martin In a rematch from Mayhem, Andrew Martin received another title shot. We were reminded of the odd turn of events during Mayhem when Crowbar of all people came down to the ring and helped Lance Storm pick up the win. Tenay and Gilberti commented on just what Crowbar was doing out there and pondered to whether or not it had anything to do with the speech he got from The Prophet before his mysterious disapperance from WCW. In any event, Martin was not happy with the way he lost so he was given a rematch tonight. You could definitely tell Martin had something to prove as he wanted to take the title away from Storm. Storm was left reeling most of the match as Martin dominated the offense, but was unable to put the champion away. Storm snuck in a chopblock to Martin to chop the big man down and allowed him to ground the powerhouse and take control of the offense. Storm hit a springboard dropkick to Martin and went for the pin, but only picked up a two count. Storm continued in control until he went for the Canadian Mapleleaf only to have Martin kick himself free! Martin was back to his feet and took Storm down with a clothesline. As Martin continued on the offense, he went for the Pumphandle Slam...but Crowbar darted down to the ring armed with a crowbar again! He slid into the ring, but this time Martin saw him coming! Martin moved out of the way and tossed Crowbar out of the ring! But when he turned around, Storm caught him in the jaw with a super-stiff superkick! Storm with the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Lance Storm by pinfall via interference (77/74/81) Lance Storm once again watch with confusion as Crowbar headed backwards up the ramp, giving an all-knowing grin as the confused Storm took his 'Canadian Heavyweight Title' and kept his eyes on the unpredictable Crowbar. ----- You Want Answers? Backstage, Scott Hudson had caught up with Crowbar to hopefully get some answers as to why he had interfered against Andrew Martin the past two times he had wrestled Lance Storm. The Crowbar we see here is much more calm and serious with his promo. He didn't have much to say however, simply stating that if we want answers, we would have to wait. He explained he had been waiting for a long time for this opportunity...the opportunity to tell the world about the true Crowbar. He explained that he had been putting on this 'crazy' act for a few years now, but it was all for show. Soon..he would show the world and Lance Storm why he was going to be taken serious. (62%) ----- Well Oiled Machine Backstage, The Gentlemen's Club were discussing War Games. Ric Flair admonished Curt Hennig for losing to Shane Helms tonight, but told him not to let it happen again. Flair promised that no matter what team Booker T was able to come up with - they would not be able to compete with their talent, skill, athleticism, or their cohesiveness...they're not just a team, they're a well-oiled machine. And Booker T will be putting together these guys who are not used to being one unit like they are. There's bound to be some...disagreements...Flair grinned as if he was planning something dastardly. (92%) ----- MAIN EVENT - Nontitle Match The Outsiders vs. The Filthy Animals (w/Torrie) In a match that put current tag champions against one of the most prominent tag teams of the last 5 years against one another for the first time. The winner of this match would join Booker T, Sting, and Shane Helms on Team Booker for the War Games match at Fall Brawl. So there was quite a bit on the line even though the tag titles themselves, were not. They speedy duo of Kidman and Rey used a similar strategy against Nash to start the match that they used against Bam Bam Bigelow in their tag title match at Mayhem. It worked well at first, but before long Nash was able to catch Kidman and sidewalk slammed him to the mat. With Kidman down, Nash brought in Hall who picked up where Nash left off. From this point, Hall and Nash were dominating the offense against the tag champs as Kidman found himself in trouble. But eventually Hall would find out that not even HE could powerbomb Kidman, because Kidman reversed it into a facebuster! Kidman made it to the corner and tag in Rey who came into the ring with a seated senton to Hall! Rey hooked Hall's legs but only got a two count. Rey continued to pick up steam and hit rapid fire offense to the staggered Hall. But when Rey ran into a high knee from Hall, Hall was able to tag Nash back in. Nash stepped in over the top rope and entered the ring and attacking the recovering Rey. Nash lifted Rey up for the Snake Eyes, but Rey escaped down Nash's back and hit a dropkick to the back of Nash's knee that sent him down across the top turnbuckle face first! A stunned Nash walked into another dropkick to the knee that sent him down across the middle ropes...setting Rey up to hit the 6-1-9! Nash stumbled backwards as Rey came back into the ring for the West Coast Pop...but Nash caught him..JACK KNIFE POWERBOMB! Just as Nash was going for the pin - the entire Gentlemen's Club flooded the ring, attacking all four men in the ring! It was 5 on 4...but they quickly overpowered Kidman and Rey (who was already down from the Jackknife) and it became 5 on 2 against Hall and Nash. Nick Patrick threw the match out as he headed for cover. WINNERS - Draw by double disqualification (82/83/81) As Flair and Goldberg worked over Hall - Hennig, Jindrak, and Stasiak worked over Nash...until Scott Steiner made his way down to the ring armed with a lead pipe! Flair saw Steiner coming and ducked out of the ring as Mark Jindrak and Stasiak each took a shot from the lead pipe! Hennig charged at Steiner only to get a shot to the gut from the pipe! Goldberg dared Steiner to hit him...so..Steiner did! Steiner nailed Goldberg across the shoulder with the lead pipe! Goldberg his the mat and Steiner went to get some more from him, but a wounded Jindrak and Stasiak pulled Goldberg out of the ring. Goldberg seemed like he wanted to get back into the ring with Steiner, but Flair and the rest of the group held him back. Steiner threw his arms up in the middle of the ring and tossed the lead pipe down - begging Goldberg to get back in the ring. But there would be no more Goldberg/Steiner action tonight. Instead, the Gentlemen's Club headed up the ramp as Steiner, Hall, and Nash helped up Rey Mysterio and Kidman to end the show. (79%)

Woo at me winning a prediction contest finally! Very much enjoying the title run for Lance Storm so far, I think he makes a great US/Canadian Champion. And War Games! Interested to see how you will book that |

WCW Thursday Thunder August 16, 2001 From the Compaq Center in San Jose, CA Announcers: Don callis & Ernest "The Cat" Miller A recap from Nitro opened Thunder, focusing on the revelation that WAR GAMES would be back at Fall Brawl this year and the announcement by Hulk Hogan that the two teams will be captain by Ric Flair and Booker T. Most of Nitro revolved around determining who would be on Team Booker...but by the end of the show we only knew Booker T, Sting, and Shane Helms to be three members while two spots were left when The Outsiders and The Filthy Animals' match to determine those spots was interrupted by the Gentlemen's Club. Callis & Miller welcomed us to the show and promised a good one tonight as we had a lot of action including a WCW Tag Team Titles rematch from Mayhem! But first... "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner made his way down to the ring to mostly cheers but some scattered boos. Steiner climbed into the ring and took the microphone. He said that he thought he had lost out on his chance to be on Team Booker at Fall Brawl...but there's still two spots left and he wanted to let Booker know that if anyone would make a good teammate - it was him. After all, there's nothing he would love more than to tear Goldberg limb from limb. So he hoped Booker T was smart when picking those last two spots...because all the 'freaks' out there want to see Steiner on Team Booker. He asked all his freaks out there to "HOLLA" if they agreed, which got a pop from the crowd. Someone had something to say about this, and it wasn't Booker T. No, it was "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair made his way down to the ring to loud boos from the crowd before climbing into the ring with Steiner. Flair was handed a microphone of his own and he was here to crush Steiner's hopes - because there was no way in Hell Booker T was going to let Steiner join his team. Flair said it was unfortunate, because Steiner is definitely a physical specimen...and he considers himself lucky that Steiner won't be a candidate for the spot. But Flair told Steiner to face it, there's too much bad blood between Booker and Steiner. They've been rivals for way too long. All the way back to the days of the Steiner Brothers vs. Booker T...to their battles over the United States Title...and more recently it had continued to when Steiner won the World Title. There's too much history there, and Steiner has not always been the most trustworthy person - Flair pointed out. Flair asked Steiner how many times he turned on his brother Rick through the years. Flair pointed out Steiner had turned on people more than once to join different variations of the nWo. Flair told Steiner that if there's anyone more untrustworthy than Flair himself...it has to be Scott Steiner. Steiner said he knew had made some mistakes in the past, but this time he has spent out of wrestling the past few months has made him realize the error of his ways. He wants the chance to make it right, and that's why he wants on Team Booker...that and he wants to destroy Goldberg once and for all. Steiner just wants a chance to redeem himself - he said he single handedly wiped out the Gentlemen's Club at the end of Nitro this week...and if that's not good enough, he'll just keep showing Booker that he's trust worthy and capable of defeating anyone in the Gentlemen's Club...including Flair! Flair told Steiner that if he wants to make a statement against a member of his Club, he would arrange it. Tonight...Steiner would go one-on-one with one of the members of the Gentlemen's Club. But Flair promised Steiner that no matter what the outcome was - it would not impress Booker T and Flair would not have to worry about Steiner being on Booker's team at War Games! (93%) ----- WCW World Tag Team Championships Match The Filthy Animals (c) (w/Torrie) vs. Double Jeopardy (w/Tammy Sytch) After being defeated by the champions at Mayhem, the team of Bigelow and Candido felt like they still deserved another shot at the Tag Titles...and someone must have agreed with them because here we are. The Animals have figured out the strategy to taking on Bigelow when he was in the ring, though Bigelow still was able to utilize his power when he caught the speedy Rey off the ropes with a powerslam. Bigelow and Candido grounded Rey and worked him over, getting several nearfalls but Kidman was always there to make the save to keep the titles from changing hands. Frustration began to set in on the part of the challengers, as they clearly felt like they should already be the champions and still are unable to put away Rey and Kidman. A frustrated Tammy distracted the referee as Candido entered the ring with a chair! But Kidman springboarded into the ring and connected with a dropkick to the chair, sending it back into Candido's face! The chair hit the mat as Torrie came around the ring and pulled Tammy off the apron! CATFIGHT! Referee Charles Robinson was still distracted, as Kidman cracked the chair across Bigelow's back! Kidman pulled off an impressive KID KRUSHER to Bigelow before sliding the chair out of the ring! Robinson turned around as Rey made the cover - One, Two, Three! The Filthy Animals successfully retain against the hardnosed duo once again! WINNERS - The Filthy Animals by pinfall (76/68/84) ----- The Towers of Terror A replay from Nitro showed The Wall defeating Terry Funk and the post match assault that led to Mike Awesome coming down to the ring...only to join in the assault. The handshake between Mike Sanders and Jimmy Hart was shown before those same four men made their way down to the ring. Jimmy Hart took the microphone first and said that originally he didn't like Mike Sanders or The Wall...originally he saw them as a threat...but after witnessing the match between Mike Awesome and The Wall at Mayhem, it became clear that both of them are true forces to be reckoned with. That's when I decided to put my own ego aside and approach Mike Sanders with an idea...if these two are so dominant by themselves, just imagine what they'd be capable of if they were COMBINED. Mike Sanders nodded his head in agreement as he took over the speaking, declaring that this was an unholy unity that would result in the destruction of the WCW as we knew it. These 'Towers of Terror' could not be stopped. And tonight, their reign of terror will begin! (79%) ----- The Towers of Terror (w/Mike Sanders & Jimmy Hart) vs. German Chocolate The fan favorite dancing duo of Alex Wright and Norman Smiley unfortunately did not stand a chance in this match. They got in very, very limited offense against Awesome and The Wall. It wasn't long before The Wall delivered the Chokeslam to Alex Wright while Mike Awesome entered the ring and hit the Awesome Bomb to Norman Smiley! This one was academic as Mike Awesome got the three count over Norman Smiley. WINNERS - The Towers of Terror by pinfall The terrifying duo of Mike Awesome and The Wall stood victorious over the destroyed Wright and Smiley as Sanders and Hart gave their approval. ----- Don't Make Him Angry! Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with Sean O'Haire. The main topic of discussion here was Crowbar, whom O'Haire seemed to have some sort of bond with over the past couple months but now Crowbar has suddenly begun helping Lance Storm and no longer seems to be afflicted with the mental instability we've seen from him in the past. O'Haire said that like everyone else, he's at a loss for words as well. He thought he knew Crowbar...and maybe the words of "The Prophet" did get to Crowbar and now he's snapped like never before. But he plans on figuring out what's going on because if there's one thing that makes him lose his cool - it's people taking advantage of people in situations like Crowbar...and if Lance Storm is doing that, then he certainly will NOT LIKE HIM WHEN HE LOSES HIS COOL! (76%) ----- Buff Bagwell vs. Sean O'Haire Buff Bagwell showed that he still is employed as he made a rare television appearance...just his second since McMahon took over, by my count anyway. O'Haire and Bagwell went back and forth exchanging lefts and rights to start the match - Bagwell actually got the upperhand in the brawl, but O'Haire quickly fought back and unleashed some fancy martial arts kicks to work over Bagwell. O'Haire would only pick up a two count after hitting a vertical suplex to Bagwell. Bagwell would get some more offense in, blocking O'Haire attempt to pick him up into a fireman's carry by sending O'Haire to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. Bagwell continued on the offensive, hitting a Double Underhook DDT to O'Haire before Bagwell began to get a little over confident. O'Haire was struggling to his feed when he saw Bagwell performing his strut and pose. Bagwell's showboating attempt to show up O'Haire caused O'Haire's eyes to grow wide as he exploded off the mat, attacking Bagwell with a huge clothesline! The snapped O'Haire but the boots to Bagwell before pulling him up and hitting a Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam! O'Haire rode his wave of emotion to the top rope where he hit the Seanton Bomb to pick up the victory over Bagwell! WINNER - Sean O'Haire by pinfall (72/76/65) ----- A Sitdown with DDP In a taped interview on an empty set, Mike Tenay sat down with Diamond Dallas Page to discuss his relationship with Kimberly and the ongoing feud with Johnny Stamboli. Page set the record straight saying there was no way he would've ever intentionally hurt Kim. The Diamond Cutter was purely an accident and anyone who knows him can back him on that. He's never laid a hand on her and he never would lay a hand on her, no matter what she did to him or what she might say about him. He still stays this is not the same Kim he had known for so man years and feels like the Kim he knows his hiding in there somewhere. Tenay asked Page if he still loved her. Page said absolutely. He would never stop loving her no matter what she did. In his mind he can still get her back. He revelaed that Kim had filed for divorce, but he has not signed the papers yet. He refuses to sign the papers. As for Johnny Stamboli, Page called him the scum of the Earth. He said he was more than happy to get into the ring with him again this Monday because any chance he can get to wipe the mat with him and make him feel the pain he's feeling was a chance he would jump at. He said he'll step into the ring 500 times with Stamboli if it meant he got to kick his ass again. And he promised that each time he got into the ring with Stamboli, he would make him FEEL THE BANG! (84%) ----- Mexico's Most Wanted vs. Chavo Guerrero & Kash The great match series between these four men continue as WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo teamed up with the man who has been his go-to-guy for weaking the competition - Kash to take on his number one contender Juventud and his partner Psicosis. As to be expected by these guys, it was fast paced and high flying action from all four men involved. It even spilled to the outside where Kash excuted his "Bank Roll" somersault plancha that took out everyone including his own partner and himself. Back in the ring, Kash found himself the legal man against Psicosis, but Psicosis countered the Money Maker with a double leg takedown into a bridging pin attempt that was broken up as Chavo came off the top rope with a double foot stomp to Psicosis' abdomen! Psicosis found himself in trouble as he became the focus of Chavo and Kash's assault and focused on keeping him from making the hot tag to Juvi. However, when Chavo went for the Tornado DDT, Psicosis reversed it into a Northern Lights Suplex that left the door open for Psicosis to make the hot tag. Psicosis didn't let that door shut, and made the tag to Juvi. Juvi springboarded into the ring and caught the incoming Kash with a springboard spinning heel kick. Juvi turned his attention to his opponent at Fall Brawl as he went on the offensive to Chavo. Juvi looked to be on his way to victory as he lifted up Chavo for the JuviDriver - but Kash attacked Juvi from behind to break up the hold! Psicosis entered the ring and it all four men were going at it until Psicosis dumped Kash and himself to ringside with a spinning headscissor takedown that sent them both over the top rope to the floor! Back in the ring, Chavo snuck in a low blow to Juvi behind referee Billy Silverman's back and rolled up Juvi...Chavo hooked the tights - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - Chavo Guerrero & Kash by pinfall (87/75/100) Chavo quickly exited the ring, joining Kash up the ramp as Psicosis slid back into the ring. Juvi was quick back to his feet and argued with Silverman about the fact that Chavo cheated to win. But in the end it was Chavo and Kash holding their heads high in victory. ----- Loan Extension Backstage, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase approached Chris Kanyon about the debt Kanyon owed to him. DiBiase reminded him that it had been one week and asked if Kanyon had the money. Kanyon reached into his bag and pulled out an envelope, handing it to DiBiase. DiBiase opened the envelope and looked it over. He said this was barely half. Kanyon apologized and said it was all he could get in that time frame. He was good for the rest of it too. DiBiase closed the envelope and stuff it into his jacket pocket. He told Kanyon he gave him a week to get the money to him - he's lucky to still be standing right now. He's letting him slide this one last time, but if he doesn't have the money by next week...it'll be a different story. (70%) ----- Evan Karagias (w/3 Count) vs. Jamie Noble Prior to the match, a 3 Count concert was interrupted by Karagias' opponent for the night, Jamie Noble. With that, the match was underway. One of the more lackluster cruiserweight matches in recent memory, as Karagias honestly just does not have the skill to match up with the ranks of the current cruiserweight division. When Jamie Noble can't get a good match out of you, it's probably not saying much about your own talent. But Noble did the best he could trying to get a good match out of the 3 count star. Karagias took control of the match, muscling his way into control basically and grounding the skilled cruiserweight. But Noble did fight his way back into control and looked on his way to victory until Shannon Moore and Joey Matthews got involved. Matthews distracted referee Mark Armstrong while Shannon Moore entered the ring and hit a low blow to Noble. Bottoms Up! to Noble laid him out. Moore rolled out of the ring as Matthews climbed down off the apron. Karagias climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit the Outrageous Corkscrew to Noble and picked up the victory! WINNER - Evan Karagias by pinfall via interference (72/66/78) After the match, Don Callis and Ernest Miller brought up that Nitro next week will be live in LAS VEGAS. Since we'll be in Vegas, The WCW Board of Directors has brought back Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal for Nitro! All matches will have stipulations decided by the spin of the wheel! ----- MAIN EVENT Scott Steiner vs. Mark Jindrak (w/Stacy Keibler) It was Mark Jindrak who must've drawn the short straw for The Gentlemen's Club to square off against Scott Steiner in tonight's main event. Jindrak seemed confident however, as he entered the ring with Stacy Keibler by his side. The former tag champion went right at Steiner, locking up with him to start the match. However, this would prove to be a mistake on his part as Steiner quickly overpowered him. It was all Steiner early as he dominated Jindrak and allowed for little offense from the Gentlemen's Club member. Soon his partner Shawn Stasiak would join Keibler at ringside to attempt to help his partner out. As Keibler distracted Nick Patrick, Stasiak entered the ring and attacked Steiner from behind! Steiner fought off Stasiak and tossed him out of the ring, but Jindrak caught Steiner with a dropkick when he turned around! Jindrak showed off some muslce of his own as took over the offense...looking decent while doing so. Jindrak managed to hit a belly to back suplex to Steiner off the second rope and went for the cover - but Steiner muscled out at two. Jindrak tried to finish Steiner off with the Mark of Excellence - but Steiner blocked it and with a go-behind, hit a belly to back suplex to Jindrak! Steiner was back with a vengeance as he unloaded a hard Steinerline to Jindrak. Stasiak jumped onto the apron, only to be knocked off with a Steinerline of his own! Steiner lifted Jindrak up to the top turnbuckle and hit a release SUPER overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Jindrak! Steiner then walked over to Jindrak and locked in the STEINER RECLINER! Jindrak almost immediately tapped out! WINNER - Scott Steiner by submission (75/78/65) After the match, Stasiak tried to attack Steiner - but Steiner lifted him up into a Gorilla Press and bench pressed him a few times before dropping him ontop of Jindrak! At the top of the ramp, Goldberg appeared and was starting to walk down to the ring..but Ric Flair ran from the back and stopped Goldberg. Steiner dared them both to come to the ring as he waited, but it would not be happening tonight. The show came to a close as Steiner stood in the ring, continuing to dare Goldberg or Flair to join him. OVERALL - 77%

WCW Tuesday Nitro August 21, 2001 Live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti Mike Tenay and Glenn Gilberti welcomed us to this week's helping of WCW Tuesday Nitro! We were live from the MGM Grand at Las Vegas. And how fitting that we are on the city of sin because tonight is the return of the old WCW gimmick - Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal! The ring was already set up in the ring when "American Made" hit the PA system to bring out Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan! Hogan made his way down to the ring to a big ovation from the Las Vegas crowd. Hogan climbed into the ring and greeted his adoring crowd. He said that we may have heard that tonight was the return of Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal. He called it a fun little device that was going to determine the stipulation of each and every match tonight! He also announced that in tonight's main event - The Filthy Animals would be defending the WCW Tag Team Titles against Ric Flair & Curt Hennig of the Gentlemen's Club. Hogan pointed to the wheel in the middle of the ring and said in order to demonstrate how the evening was going to work, he would go ahead and have the wheel decide tonight's Main Event stipulation. But out came Curt Hennig who apparently was sent out by Ric Flair because they didn't trust Hogan to do the spinning himself. Hennig said he could see Hogan trying to rig it for a....Hennig looked at the wheel's stipulations and said Hogan might try to make it a Special Referee match or something...then he'd probably make Booker T the special referee. Hennig wasn't about to let that happen. He was going to make sure this was a fair spin. Hogan offered Hennig to be his guest and do the spinning himself. Hennig stepped up to the wheel and gave it a spin. It went round and round and after almost landing on First Blood match, it instead landed on "CAGE MATCH!" Hennig did not seem to thrilled about the choice, but Hogan made it official - tonight the tag titles would be on the line inside the steel cage! (94%) ----- Contract on a Pole Match Diamond Dallas Page vs. Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli (w/Kimberly Page) DDP made his way down to the ring first as Hulk Hogan had taken a seat at ringside where the wheel had been transported. Hogan went ahead and spun the wheel with it landing on "POLE MATCH"! Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli came down to the ring with Kimberly, who was sporting a neck brace around her neck with Stamboli gingerly leading her to the ring. Once both men were in the ring, Hogan announced that this would indeed be a pole match...with a contract at the top of the pole. As the contract was put at the top of the pole, Hogan announced that the contract was for the services of Kimberly Page! That means if DDP wins, Kim will have no choice but to be his valet again! Kimberly and Stamboli were outraged, but Page liked the idea and immediately attacked Stamboli to start the match. As the match wore on, it proved to be slightly better than their outting at Mayhem, as Page focused on wearing down Stamboli enough to be able to climb the pole and get Kimberly's contract. After a spinout powerbomb, Page started to climb to get the contract - but Stamboli recovered and brought Page off the top turnbuckle with a belly-to-back superplex! Stamboli went on the offensive to Page, tossing him into the corner and pounding his head repeatedly into the top turnbuckle. Stamboli then took Page down with a swinging neckbreaker before attempting to climb the pole himself. He almost had it before Page recovered and dropped his weight across the top rope, sending Stamboli groin first across the top turnbuckle. Page then brought Stamboli off the top turnbuckle with a neckbreaker! After a tiltawhirl slam, Page started to climb the turnbuckles again, but just as Page was about to pull the contract down...the injured Kim climbed onto the turnbuckle! She scratched at Page's leg, which was good enough to distract him long enough for Stamboli to throw Page back first off the top rope! Stamboli lifted up Page and hit the Fuh-Get-A-Bout-It! With Page down, Stamboli easily recovered the contract to win the match and retain the services of Kim! WINNER - Johnny Stamboli by pole climb (70/74/61) After the match, a cocky and confident Stamboli walked around the ring holding the contract high in the air. He leaned over Page and told him he was never going to get her back. He continued to celebrate, unaware to Page regaining his composure...Stamboli turned back around into the DIAMOND CUTTER from Page! That got the crowd to their feet as Page picked up the contract and ripped it up, tossing the little shreds onto Kim at ringside. ----- Holla if you Hear Me Out Backstage, Booker T and Sting were discussing the War Games match. Sting asked if Booker had seen Shane Helms yet tonight, but Booker had not. Sting said it made him a little worried because Helms has a big United States Title match tonight and they were suppose to meet up tonight to talk about who they want to get to be the two other members of Team Booker. As the discussion continued, Scott Steiner entered the room which brought Booker T to his feet. Sting stepped between them - but Steiner said he was not hear to cause any problems. He wanted to know if he was even being considered for a spot on Team Booker. Booker responded that there was 'no chance in Hell.' Booker told Steiner he knew the moment he puts him on Team Booker, he'd be stabbed in the back by a lead pipe or something - and then The Gentlemen's Club would be leaving War Games as the winners. Steiner pleaded his case, saying he doesn't like the Gentlemen's Club just as much as he hates them...he swore on his grandfather's grave that he's in this to win it for Team Booker....whether Booker wants to acceept it or not, he has his back in this one. Sting tries to talk some sense to Booker, saying they should at least give him a shot. Booker stood firm, saying people had been giving Steiner second chances all his career and everytime they forgave him - Steiner would stab them right in the back. Booker said it wasn't going to happen to him. Steiner would NOT be a member of Team Booker! Steiner said he did respect Booker...but he was not going to stop until he proved himself to be trustworthy and get a spot on the team. (94%) ----- Strange Bedfellows Mexico's Most Wanted and Chavo Guerrero and Kash were both in the ring as Hulk Hogan made the next spin of the wheel. This time the wheel landed on "Strange Bedfellows." Hogan couldn't help but laugh before he explained that this meant Kash would be teaming up with Psicosis to take on Juvi and Chavo! None of the four men in the ring seemed pleased with this stipulation... Juventud Guerrera & Chavo Guerrero vs. Psicosis & Kash This certainly created an interesting dynamic to the series between these four men...the result was much of the same...as Juvi focused on being in the ring against Kash while Psicosis focused on being in the ring against Chavo...but making it work was difficult considering their partners didn't care much to cooperate. The match itself was still great and the crowd is really starting to get into all four men. After Psicosis spent a good amount of team being on the offensive against Chavo, his own partner stopped his own momentum by kneeing Psicosis in the back! Psicosis shoved Kash off the apron, but turned around into a dropkick from Chavo! Chavo tagged in Juvi - forcing Juvi in the ring against his partner Psicosis. Psicosis tried to make the tag to Kash, but Kash jumped down. They shrugged and started wrestling as they it wouldn't be the first time they'd squared off against one another. The second Psicosis started to get the upperhand on his partner, Kash slapped Psicosis on the back to tag himself in. Kash tossed his own partner over the top rope and then attacked Juvi. Chavo entered the ring...and started stomping on his partner as well! It was suddenly a double team on Juvi as Chavo lifted up Juvi and hit the Brainbuster! Psicosis entered the ring, but Kash and Chavo took him out with a double clothesline. Chavo tossed Psicosis back out of the ring as Kash hit the Money Maker to Juvi! Kash made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Kash & Psicosis by pinfall (89/78/100) Despite technically being on the losing team, Chavo stood victorious over his opponent at Fall Brawl. Chavo held the Cruiserweight Title down infront of Juvi, taunting the fallen challenger with it as the show headed to break. ----- A New Challenger The 'Canadian Heavyweight Champion' Lance Storm made his way down to the ring to decent heel heat from the Las Vegas crowd. Storm took the microphone and asked if he could be serious for a minute. He said that tonight he was SUPPOSE to be defending his Canadian Heavyweight Title against Shane Helms - but it looks like Helms got cold feet at the thought of wrestling Canada's Champion. He didn't blame Helms though, who would want to step into the ring with him? But in any event, the match was scheduled...and since Lance Storm is a fighting champion who prides himself on title defenses...the show must go on. So...he told referee Nick Patrick to start the match and count Shane Helms out. However, Hulk Hogan at the wheel had different plans. Hogan said he's not sure why Helms hasn't arrived yet tonight...but he was sure there was someone in the back who would want a shot at the UNITED STATES title. Hogan opened the door for anyone to come out... Sean O'Haire answered the call, coming down to the ring to a mild reaction from the fans. O'Haire climbed into the ring and said he for one would love a title shot. But first he wanted to know what Storm was doing with Crowbar to make him interfere in his matches. Lance Storm wanted the ansy O'Haire to calm down - more importantly Storm was getting spit on when O'Haire was talking so close to his face. Storm said he doesn't know what that weirdo has been doing - he never asked for his help. O'Haire said he better not find out that Storm was pulling Crowbar's strings...or he truly would pay. But for now, he would just take Storm's title! But first - Hogan had to determine the type of match! The wheel was spun and the match was determined to be a...FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH! ----- United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title Falls Count Anywhere Match Lance Storm (c) vs. Sean O'Haire O'Haire wasted no time getting the jump on Storm. Storm had to dislike this stipulation, as the more technical and mat oriented wrestler quickly found himself out of his element when O'Haire took the match to ringside! O'Haire quickly brought a chair down across Storm's back and kept the punishment going around ringside as referee Nick Patrick gave chase. O'Haire made a cover at ringside, but Storm kicked out at two. Storm reversed an Irish whip to send O'Haire crashing into the ring steps. Storm then stomped away at O'Haire before pulling him back up...the brawl continued up the ramp onto the stage, where Storm hit a snap suplex to O'Haire on the stage! Storm with the cover - One, Two, kickout by O'Haire! The match continued - heading backstage where O'Haire retook control! O'Haire seemed to be in the driver's seat as the hardcore action of the Falls Count Anywhere much better suited his style. But things took a turn for the worse for O'Haire when they continued to brawl backstage when Crowbar appeared from the janitor's closet and whacked O'Haire across the back with his crowbar! Crowbar then finished O'Haire off with a shot across the head with the crowbar! Storm crawled over and made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Lance Storm by pinfall via interference (80/73/83) Crowbar and Lance Storm had a brief stare down after the match before Crowbar simply walked off leaving Storm confused, but a winner once more. ----- Special Referee Match The Outsiders vs. Jindrak & Stasiak (w/Stacy Keibler) Once all four men were in the ring, Hulk Hogan gave the wheel a spin and it landed on...Special Referee match! Hogan decided to name the special referee for this match as...Scott Steiner! Jindrak, Stasiak, and Keibler were clearly livid as Steiner made his way down to the ring in an oversized referee's shirt. Steiner went to the Gentlemen's Club's corner and went over the rules with just them. He then went over to Hall and Nash and gave them high fives. Gilberti said this was about as unfair as you could get. The match got underway, and anytime Jindrak or Stasiak tried to use any kind of heel tactic from eye poking or back raking - Steiner stepped in and pulled them away from their opponent to tell them what they were doing was illegal. Hall and Nash quickly took control everytime Steiner stepped in against the Gentlemen's Club. As Hall hit the Fallaway Slam to Stasiak, Curt Hennig rushed down to the ring. He slid into the ring but was cut off by a Steinerline from Steiner! Steiner picked Hennig up and tossed him into a Big Boot from Nash! Jindrak grabbed Steiner from behind, but Steiner turned around and laid him out with a right hand! Gilberti said this was the worst case of officiating he's ever seen as Nash tossed Hennig out of the ring while Hall hit the Outsider's Edge to Stasiak! Hall made the cover on Stasiak while Steiner made the count - One, Two, Jindrak tried to break it up...but Steiner knocked him down again before going back to the cout, three! WINNERS - The Outsiders by pinfall (78/82/70) Hall, Nash, and Steiner stood tall in the ring as Jindrak, Stasiak, Hennig, and Keibler regrouped at ringside. They could only give nasty stares to the faces celebrating in the ring to a standing ovation from the crowd. ----- Watch Out for that Roadkill The newly formed Towers of Terror - Mike Awesome and The Wall made their way down to the ring with Jimmy Hart and Mike Sanders. Hart and Sanders did the talking once again, pretty much re-emphasizing what they said on Thunder about destroying the WCW. But then Jimmy Hart noticed someone sitting at ringside. Well it was none other than former ECW star Roadkill! Mike Sanders was intruiged, and headed to ringside to get in Roadkill's face - making fun of his beard and calling him inbred. Sanders asked Roadkill what it was like to be unemployed. Jimmy Hart had an idea, since they didn't have anything better to do tonight...how about Roadkill see if he still has any 'extreme' left in him. Sanders asked Roadkill if he wanted a shot at the Towers of Terror, or was he too...CHICKEN? Roadkill stood up from his seat before Hulk Hogan jumped in. Hogan said he would allow Roadkill to compete in a match tonight against only one member of the team, and it would be Mike Awesome. So if Roadkill want it, he can have it! Roadkill nodded and stepped over the guard rail. Hogan then spun the wheel to determin the type of match it would be....TABLES MATCH. Mike Awesome smirked and nodded his head in approval. (73%) ----- Tables Match Mike Awesome (w/Jimmy Hart, Mike Sanders, & The Wall) vs. Roadkill Don't know if WCW is planning it or not, but Roadkill would probably make a good addition to WCW's Extreme Division if they wanted to bring him in because he certainly put on a good match here with Mike Awesome though it wasn't much of a competitive match or even that long of one...but for what it was, it was good and Roadkill still does indeed have some Extreme left in him. However, with three other people at ringside in Awesome's corner including Extreme Champion The Wall...Roadkill stood little chance. It all came to an end for Roadkill off a Running Awesome Bomb through a propped up table in the corner to give Mike Awesome the victory! WINNER - Mike Awesome (73/65/81) Not surprisingly, just winning wasn't enough for the Towers of Terror. Sanders sent The Wall back into the ring as Hart and Sanders set up another table at ringside. The Wall and Awesome brought Roadkill over to the apron where the Wall sent Roadkill crashing through the table with a big Chokeslam! Before the destruction could go much further Tommy Dreamer ran down from the back with a 2x4 wrapped in barbedwire! Dreamer slid into the ring and took down Mike Awesome with a shot from the 2x4. The Wall started to go after Dreamer, but Sanders stopped him! They instead retreaved Awesome from the ring and the foursome headed up the ramp. Sanders was calling Dreamer crazy. Tommy Dreamer took the microphone and said he was tired of watching these two tear through the competition and call themselves Extreme. Just because you're big and lanky SOBs doesn't make you extreme. THIS IS EXTREME! Dreamer declared as he rubbed the barbedwire against his own face, drawing blood! "You want EXTREME? YOU HAVEN'T SEEN EXTREME YET!" Dreamer shouted into the microphone. Dreamer dropped the microphone and climbed the turnbuckles, throwing the 2x4 up for a decent reaction from the shocked crowd. (74%) ----- MAIN EVENT - WCW World Tag Team Championship Cage Match The Filthy Animals (c) (w/Torrie) vs. Ric Flair & Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) The cage lowered meaning it was time for the main event and time for Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman to defend the tag titles against Flair & Hennig. The match started out with all four men going at it...the rules for the match was determined to be pinfall only - not cage escape. The champions looked good early, catching Flair and Hennig off guard with their speed. But the fiery champs were quickly knocked down a peg by a low blow to Kidman from Flair and a thumb to the eye from Hennig to Mysterio. The more technically skilled Hennig and Flair grounded the cruiserweights to the mat and began roughing them up. Flair took Mysterio to the cage where he raked Mysterio's face violently across the steel while Hennig worked Kidman over in the corner. Torrie watched on in fear as her boys were being taken apart in the ring. Hennig then picked Rey up and tossed him like a javeline face first into the cage! The champions were looking to be in a bad spot as the Gentlemen's Club duo were in complete control. But despite that, they were unable to put them away for the three count. Flair began working over Rey's knee, slamming Rey's knee into the mat while Kidman began trying to fight back against Hennig. A powerbomb attempt by Hennig was quickly reversed into a facebuster by Kidman! Kidman went for the pin, but Flair broke it up. Kidman fought back against Flair and hit a low blow of his own to the former World Champion! Flair doubled over and Kidman hooked Flair by the head and ran up the side of the cage into a Tornado DDT to Flair! Rey stumbled to his feet and suddenly the champions were looking strong again...Rey grabbed Hennig by the arm, springboarded off the ropes and took him to the mat with a flying headscissors! Despite his knee bothering him, Rey was still able to out manuever Hennig, and even took him down across the middle ropes to hit the 6-1-9! Meanwhile, Flair battled back against Kidman and took him down with a chopblock. Flair went for the Figure Four, but Rey springboarded into the ring with the West Coast Pop to Flair! One, Two, Thre...Hennig broke it up just in time to save the match! Hennig worked over Rey in the corner - as Flair reached into his tights and pulled out...brass knux! Flair slid the knux on as Rey charged at Hennig...but Hennig tossed Rey over his head, causing Rey to leapfrog Hennig but flew right into a brass knux punch from Flair! Rey hit the mat and was knocked out cold! Flair tossed the knux to Hennig, who slid them on as Flair applied the Figure Four to Rey! Rey was in agonizing pain as Hennig decked Kidman with the brass knux! He then pulled Kidman back up...HENNIGPLEX....ONE....TWO...THREE! We have new World Tag Team Champions! WINNERS - Ric Flair & Curt Hennig by pinfall (83/82/85) - WCW Tag Titles have gained in image. Flair and Hennig got to their feet after the match and were handed the WCW Tag Team Championship from Nick Patrick. The show came to a close as Hennig and Flair stood victorious as Stacy Keibler checked on the battered and bruised Animals. OVERALL - 80% ---------
