WCW Thursday Thunder August 23, 2011 From the Thomas and Mack Cener in Las Vegas, NV Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest "The Cat" Miller A recap of WCW Tuesday Nitro focused on the Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal gimmick which concluded with a shocking change of the WCW Tag Team Championships as Ric Flair and Curt Hennig defeated The Filthy Animals inside a steel cage match to bring the titles to the Gentlemen's Club! Don Callis & Ernest Miller welcomed us to the show - breaking the somber news that Shane Helms had been vicisiouly assaulted outside his hotel Tuesday evening and would be unable to compete in the War Games match. They went over the details of the attack, and mentioned the fact that there was a lead pipe at the scene of the attack. Callis wondered if that meant what he thought it could mean, and Miller said it was hard to dispute the evidence. But for now - The new WCW Tag Team Champions Ric Flair and Curt Hennig led the Gentlemen's Club down to the ring in full force. Once inside the ring, Flair took the microphone and he and Hennig basked in the glory of being the new tag team champions. Flair compared winning the tag titles in the cage to what it will be like when The Gentlemen's Club win War Games at Fall Brawl - especially now that Booker had to scramble to find three more partners - not just two. Goldberg took his turn on the microphone, and actually had a request of champion Booker T. He actually requested that Booker T have a change of heart and put Scott Steiner on his team. Because after hearing him run his mouth about wanting to be in the cage with Goldberg, he would love nothing more than to make Steiner eat crow...and eat the cold steel of the War Games cage. Goldberg said he didn't get to make Steiner NEXT last time, but he would love for Steiner to be NEXT now. That made no sense. "Pyscho" hit the PA system bringing out former WCW Tag Champions The Filthy Animals to a big face reaction. They ran down to the ring and showed some balls by sliding into the ring with all of Gentlemen's Club in the ring. Rey Mysterio said that they were robbed of the tag titles and wanted another shot at the belts. Flair said they were obligated to have a match with the Animals here tonight, but Flair was feeling like some action tonight...so said he would step into the ring with his choice of Filthy Animal, and if they managed to beat him, maybe he'll think about giving them a title shot! Flair decided his opponent tonight would be...Billy Kidman! Kidman didn't back down from the challenge, and seemed eager to step into the ring one-on-one with Ric Flair later tonight! (97%) ----- Chris Kanyon vs. Shane Douglas Kanyon seems to still have some ring rust while Douglas too has a little from not being active since Bash at the Beach. That being said, both men showed some rust - Kanyon especially but that wasn't the only thing holding Kanyon back in this match. His mind seemed to be elsewhere as he wrestled - which quickly got him into trouble against Douglas. Anytime Kanyon started to show any signs of offense - it wouldn't last long as something just appeared off for the usual Innovator of Offense. Eventually, Douglas put Kanyon away with the Franchiser for the clean three count victory! WINNER - Shane Douglas by pinfall (67/78/71) After the match, Shane Douglas left the ring celebrating his victory as a defeated and dejected Chris Kanyon got to his feet. But just as he was getting up, Chuck Palumbo came from out of nowhere and attacked Kanyon from behind! Kanyon was sent to the mat where Palumbo began stomping a mudhole into Kanyon! Palumbo pulled Kanyon over to the ropes where he handcuffed Kanyon to the middle rope and began punching Kanyon repeatedly across the face. Ted DiBiase walked out from the back and stood on the stage smiling as Palumbo laid punch after punch to the side of Kanyon's head. WCW officials began to enter the ring to stop Palumbo before Palumbo headed up the aisle and shook hands with Ted DiBiase. (80%) ----- Million Dollar Savings & Loans Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with Ted DiBiase and Chuck Palumbo. She wanted to get the inside scoop on the attack we had witnessed the segment prior. DiBiase said it was simple business. He has no problem loaning money to people, he certainly has enough of it to share. But you HAVE to pay him back, with interest, on time. This is a business for him too. And he said if people have problems paying their debts in time, they'll have to deal with Chuck Palumbo! He said he hoped Kanyon got the message tonight - because he still has some money to pay him. (80%) ----- Let's Get Extreme Tommy Dreamer made his way down to the ring carrying a cloth sack in one hand and a barbedwire 2x4 in the other. He climbed into the ring and took the microphone. He announced that a match had been signed for Fall Brawl that would give him an Extreme Championship Title shot against The Wall! But like he said on Nitro - these so-called 'Towers of Terror' that are trying to run things around here...they may call themselves Extreme and carry that title around, but they don't know a THING about being Extreme. He said tonight, he was going to show us what EXTREME really was! (62%) ----- Extreme Rules Match Tommy Dreamer vs. Reno Dreamer wasted no time against Reno, unleashing some violent chair shots to his unsuspecting opponent. Dreamer was definitely out to show his more violent side - a side of him we really haven't seen since he came to WCW. He used the chair repeatedly before using the barbedwire 2x4 to Reno, scraping the barbedwire against his forehead, sending blood trickling down Reno's face. The crowd seemed to be enjoying Dreamer's masacre. He then grabbed that sac and opened it up before turning it upside down - dumping thumbtacks all over the canvas! Ernerst Miller said he couldn't bare to watch anymore as Dreamer scooped up Reno and bodyslammed him right onto the tacks! When Dreamer pulled Reno up, several tacks were still sticking in his back! Dreamer then lifted Reno back up...DREAMER DRIVER into the tacks! Dreamer made the cover to pick up a very one-sided victory. WINNER - Tommy Dreamer by pinfall (60/62/73) ----- Goldberg vs. Konnan Speaking of one-sided, this one was a little prettier than Dreamer/Reno was but not by much. Konnan got in some offense early against Goldberg - but nothing that Goldberg cared enough to sell. Konnan did manage to take Goldberg off his feet with the Rolling Thunder lariat - but Goldberg popped right back up to his feet almost immediately. Unsure what else to throw at Goldberg, he whipped Goldberg into the ropes, but Goldberg ducked a clothesline and came off the ropes with a flying shoulder tackle to Konnan. From here it was all Goldberg all the time until he laid out Konnan with the pumphandle slam. Goldberg stomped around the ring to boos from the crowd as he waited for Konnan to pull himself to his feet only to get nailed with the SPEAR! Goldberg pulled Konnan back up and made the slit throat motion before finishing Konnan off with the JACHAMMER! One, Two, Three! WINNER - Goldberg by pinfall (71/83/72) ----- No Doubt Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with WCW World Champion Booker T. She wanted to get a status update on Shane Helms. Booker T said that he visited Helms at the hospital today and he barely looks like himself after the attack that was handed out to him sometime Monday evening. He said it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who did this to Helms. "Hell, they found a damn lead pipe lying next to his body." Booker T said it was pathetic of Steiner to try and get a spot on his team this way...but after this, there was NO way he would be on Team Booker. Gold asked if he knew for sure it was Steiner - Booker responded, who else would it be? There's no doubt in his mind Steiner's behind the attack on Helms, and he would PAY for it. Now can you dig that...SUCKA? (88%) ----- Hugh Morrus & Dustin Rhodes vs. Jindrak & Stasiak (w/Stacy Keibler) After suffering defeat at the hands of the Outsiders on Nitro, the Gentlemen's club duo were looking to get back on winning track, especially after their teammates won the tag titles. But going up against Hugh Morrus and Dustin Rhodes was not going to be an easy task for the heel team. Morrus and Rhodes were dominant early against the team of Jindrak and Stasiak - overpowering the duo and mainly working over Stasiak. However, Stasiak managed to claw Rhodes' eyes to slow him down before hitting a swinging neckbreaker to bring in Jindrak. Jindrak and Stasiak worked over Rhodes before Stasiak had to leave. But the damage had been done and Rhodes was isolated away from making the tag to Morrus. A big scoop powerslam from Jindrak would only get a two count before Hugh Morrus made the save. Rhodes would get the opening to make the hot tag after Jindrak brought Stasiak back in and the duo went for a double clothesline - but Rhodes ducked and came off the ropes with a double clothesline of his own! Rhodes tagged in Morrus and the pair went to work on both Jindrak and Stasiak! Jindrak and Rhodes went tumbling over the top rope after a clothesline from Rhodes - allowing Morrus to be in the ring alone against Stasiak. Morrus took Stasiak down to the mat with a sidewalk slam but only got a two count. After a powerslam, Hugh Morrus started to climb to the top turnbuckle for the No Laughing Matter...but Jindrak had taken out Rhodes at ringside - sending him into the ring steps! Jindrak attacked Morrus from behind off the ropes and brought him down off the ropes with the Mark of Excellence! He rolled off of Morrus, allowing Stasiak to get the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - Jindrak & Stasiak by pinfall (63/69/72) ----- Sing Along with Juvi Juventud Guerrera made his way down to the ring to a decent face reaction from the crowd. Juvi climbed into the ring and took the microphone - "Finally, THE JUICE has come BACK to LAS VEGAS!" Juvi explained that tonight he was going up against Shannon Moore of 3 count. Juvi admitted he was a BIG fan of 3 Count. In fact, his favorite song is their second song - Dance with 3 Count. He loved that song so much, he wanted to perform it tonight...in THEIR honor. "Dance with 3 Count" hit the PA system and Juvi began to sing along to the song and clap his hands to the beat. Juvi replaced "Sing a long with 3 Count" with "Sing a long with Juvi." Before Juvi could finish the song out, Shannon Moore attacked him from behind to start their match. (74%) ----- Juventud Guerrera vs. Shannon Moore (w/3 Count) That certainly was no way to treat a 'fan' - but I guess 3 count doesn't take kindly to other people singing their 'hit' songs. Karagias and Matthews were at ringside as well as the number one contender to ther Cruiserweight Title took on their teammate. Moore matched up well against Juvi, going blow for blow with Juvi and showing that perhaps Moore should be considered a threat in the cruiserweight division as well...he probably is the most skilled of the three members, though we have not seen much out of Joey Matthews yet to really take note of his skill level. A sleeperslam from Moore was only good enough for a two count on Juvi. As Moore was unable to put Juvi away, he began to grow frustrated, which only opened the door for a Juvi come back. Juvi sent Shannon Moore crashing to the mat with a wheelbarrow facebuster. This brought Evan Karagias to the apron as Joey Matthews slid into the ring with the ref distracted...but Juvi caught Matthews with a spinning sole kick and then dropkicked Karagias off the apron! Moore stumbled to his feet into the JUVI DRIVER from Juvi. Juvi added insult to injury with the JUICY ELBOW for the three count victory! WINNER - Juventud Guerrera by pinfall (73/74/90) ----- MAIN EVENT Ric Flair (w/Stacy Keibler) vs. Billy Kidman (w/Torrie) The girls on the outside gave each other dirty looks as the men went to work on the inside. Flair quickly took the upperhand on Kidman, wrestling him to the mat and showing him up technically. Flair took control of the smaller Kidman, sending him into the corner and pulling away Kidman's wifebeater to light up his chest with his stiff knife edge chops. The speedy Kidman found himself grounded for most of the match by the technically superior Flair. But with Torrie and the fans cheering him on, Kidman began to find something deep down inside him that brought him back into the mat. He fought back against Flair, and had Flair reeling with some rights and lefts before taking Flair to the mat with an enziguri! Kidman pounced on the fallen Flair, not letting him get the chance to get back to his feet. But after a DDT followed by a springboard moonsault - Flair kicked out of the pinning attempt. Kidman went to the top turnbuckle, possibly looking for the Shooting Star Press, but Flair dropped across the top rope - sending Kidman groin first across the turnbuckles. Flair climbed up with Kidman, setting him up for a superplex, but Kidman fought back! Kidman and Flair did battle on the turnbuckles until Kidman knocked Flair to the mat! SHOOTING STAR PRESS - NO - FLAIR GOT HIS KNEES UP! Kidman was in a world of trouble after Flair blocked his Shooting Star Press. Flair went on the attack to Kidman's knees - setting him up for the Figure Four. But when Flair went for the Figure Four - Kidman surprised him with a small package pinning cradle. One, Two, Th...kickout by Flair! Kidman rolled back to his feet and ducked a chop from Flair and caught Flair with a dropkick! Kidman set up Flair for the Kid Krusher, but Flair shoved Kidman off into the ropes. Off the ropes, Kidman went for a running frankensteiner, but Flair held on and slammed Kidman to the mat back first...and then stepped over into the Figure Four leglock! Kidman tried to fight the pain, but it was not long before he was forced to tap out! WINNER - Ric Flair by submission (72/79/81) Stacy Keibler climbed into the ring with Ric Flair's half of the tag team titles and handed it to him before lifting his arm up in victory. Don Callis told us to tune into Nitro this week for more information about the attack on Shane Helms and to find out who Booker T will recruit for Team Booker at War Games! OVERALL - 73% --------

WCW Tuesday Nitro August 28, 2001 Live from the America West Arena in Phoenix, AZ Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti Tenay and Gilberti welcomed us to Nitro where in one week's time Booker T will defend the WCW World Title against a new number one contender that will be named tonight! It will put a member of Team Booker against a member of The Gentlemen's Club in a one-on-one matchup with the winner facing Booker T next week! Tenay announced that Goldberg had already been named the representative of The Gentlemen's Club! But who would represent Team Booker? Well - it might be an easy pick because after Shane Helms was taken out of commission by an unknown assaliant - Team Booker only has Booker T and Sting. And Booker can't defend the title against himself! Tenay and Gilberti spend some time at the top of the show discussing the attack on Shane Helms and the accusations flying that it may have been Scott Steiner who was responsible for the attacks. Gilberti said he bought in to those accusations since Steiner has been so insistant on getting himself a spot, what better way than take out one of the members? Booker T and Sting made their way down to the ring to start the show for an opening promo. Booker T took the microphone and said that it was a tragedy what has happened to Shane Helms that will prevent him from joining Team Booker at War Games. And he just knows that it was Scott Steiner who attacked Helms because only Steiner is selfish enough to do something like that to try and get what he wants. But Booker said he would discuss that more in a little bit, but first he wanted to make two announcement as it concerns to tonight and War Games. First off, after watching The Outsiders defeat The Gentlemen's Club's Jindrak & Stasiak last week on Nitro, he has invited both Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to join Team Booker at War Games...and they have accepted! As for tonight, he has chosen Sting to represent Team Booker against Goldberg as he would love nothing more than to give Sting another title shot after the classic match they had at Mayhem. Now, back to this Shane Helms incident... "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner was not going to let the talking go on much longer without his own input. Steiner made his way down to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. He climbed into the ring and took his own microphone. He came out there because he needed to clear the air and get his name taken out of this conversation. He said he did NOT attack Shane Helms last week. Does he want on Team Booker? Hell yes he does, but he wouldn't do it that way. He told Booker he was looking to prove himself trustworthy to him - and that certainly was not the way to do it. And really, do you think he was stupid enough to leave his lead pipe just lying there beside Helms? Steiner said he deserves SOME credit for having a brain. Booker T said he wasn't buying it - Steiner was just sloppy and forgot one detail. Steiner and Booker began to go nose-to-nose in their argument before Sting stepped in between them. Sting ordered them both to calm down because this wasn't going to settle anything. Steiner said Sting was right. He said that Booker still had one spot left on Team Booker, and he wanted to formerly ask Booker...face to face, man to man...for that spot. After a brief pause, Booker said 'sorry' but he still didn't trust Steiner and this match had too much riding on it to go against his gut feeling. Booker left the ring, leaving Sting and Steiner in the ring. Sting shook Steiner's hand and apologized on behalf of Booker. (93%) ----- Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) vs. Rey Mysterio (w/Torrie) After losing the tag titles to Flair & Hennig last week on Nitro and then Kidman losing to Flair on Thunder - Rey got his chance for some redemption and perhaps prove himself to possibly get that last spot on Team Booker if he could get a singles victory over Hennig. But Hennig and Keibler at ringside certainly weren't going to let that happen if they could help it. After an outburst of offense from Mysterio to start the match, Hennig used a distraction from Keibler to take the advantage and ground Mysterio to the mat. Hennig locked in a resthold chinlock to keep Mysterio grounded as the crowd got ancy and looked to spur a Mysterio comeback. But Hennig stood his ground and remained in control, despite being unable to put Rey away for a three count. Hennig lifted Rey up for a back suplex, but Rey reversed it into a bulldog! Rey suddenly was coming to life with offense. Hennig was sent into the corner where a dropkick from Rey sent him into a seated position in the corner for a BRONCO BUSTER! The humiliated Hennig got back to his feet, only to be sent across the middle rope with a headscissors! 6-1-9 from Mysterio sent Hennig stumbling backwards as Rey hit the WEST COAST POP to Hennig and picked up the impressive singles victory! WINNER - Rey Mysterio by pinfall (82/78/87) Mysterio celebrated his big singles victory as an upset Hennig regrouped up the ramp with Stacy Keibler. ----- Best Protection Money Can Buy Mexico's Most Wanted - Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis made their way down to the ring for a tag team match. The WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero walked out from the back onto the stage. He told them that if they thought they were getting a cakewalk match tonight, he told them to think again. Because using his briefcase he won from beating Shane Helms - he has hired him the best opponents money can by....tonight, Juvi and Psicosis were given the unenviable task of taking on none other than...KRONIK. (71%) ----- Mexico's Most Wanted vs. Kronik (w/Chavo Guerrero) Juvi and Psicosis were certainly intimidated by the much larger opponents of Brian Adams and Bryan Clark, but that didn't stop them from giving it the best effort they could against the massive powerhouses. Juvi and Psicosis both tried attacking Adam's knees at once, which seemed to be working until referee Billy Silverman forced Psicosis out of the ring. Alone in the ring against Clark, Juvi was quickly overpowered and grounded. Clark and Adams took turns on Juvi - but were unable to get him to stay down for the three count. Juvi reversed a powerbomb attempt from Adams into a tornado DDT that left both men down and the crowd was suddenly hoping for a comeback from MMW. Juvi made the tag to Psicosis just as Adams tagged in Clark. Psicosis springboarded into the ring...but any hope of a comeback was squashed when Clark caught him and powerslammed him to the mat! Clark took firm control, eventaully tagging in Adams as they hit the HIGH TIMES to Psicosis. Adams made the cover as Clark cut off an incoming Juvi with a Big Boot! One, Two, Three! WINNER - Kronik by pinfall (81/71/91) After the match, Chavo instructed them to dish out more punishment to Juventud. Clark and Adams did as told - Clark first hitting him with the Meltdown before they picked him back up and now hitting Juvi with the High Times! Chavo then entered the ring and stood over the fallen Juvi - lifting his Cruiserweight Title in the air. ----- Don't Make O'Haire Angry! Backstage, Scott Hudson was standing by with Sean O'Haire to discuss last week's match with Lance Storm for the WCW United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title which O'Haire lost thanks to some interference from O'Haire's pal Crowbar. O'Haire said just thinking about whatever has become of Crowbar and whatever Lance Storm has done to brainwash him made his blood boil. Shane Douglas interrupted the promo to make fun of both O'Haire and Crowbar - comparing them to an arguing man and wife. He told O'Haire he better tighten that chain he had around Crowbar because he was getting loose! Douglas laughed his own jokes, but O'Haire was clearly getting very angry. So angry, he in fact lunged over and attacked an unspecting Douglas! WCW officials quickly stepped in to break it up. After the break we would learn Sean O'Haire and Shane Douglas would step into the ring later tonight! (73%) ----- The Impervious Wall The Wall and Mike Awesome made their way down to the ring with Mike Sanders and Jimmy Hart. The foursome entered the ring before Mike Sanders took the microphone. He first had some words for The Wall's opponent at Fall Brawl - Tommy Dreamer. He told Dreamer he can spend all the time he wants using barbedwire and thumbtacks on people like Reno on Thunder - but he said good luck being as effect against The Wall. There's a reason why he's called the Wall and he thinks Dreamer will find that The Wall will be impervious to any kind of 'extreme' resources Dreamer can come up with. But for tonight, The Wall was taking on Diamond Dallas Page. As the Towers of Terror look to continue their desimation of WCW - DDP will become the next victim. The Wall promises to put the finishing touches on Page's fading career. (72%) ----- Non-Title Match The Wall (w/Sanders, Hart, and Awesome) vs. Diamond Dallas Page If facing off against The Wall wasn't enough of an uphill challenge - Page also had to contend with Mike Sanders, Jimmy Hart, and Mike Awesome all at ringside. But Page was used to uphill challenges as he had been in them his whole life. Page went head on against Wall, opening up with rights and lefts against the big man which seemed to be useless. Wall fired back with a knee lift to Page's midsection to slow down the 'People's Champ.' It became all Wall as he beat Page from pillar to post around the ring. Wall would even send Page to ringside where Jimmy Hart would distract referee Charles Robinson as Mike Awesome snuck in a Big Boot to Page and rolled him back into the ring! Wall would go for the pin - but only get a close two count. The Wall continued in control but Page started to find the willpower to stage a comeback. And after staggering The Wall with rights and lefts, Page climbed to the top turnbuckle and hit a flying clothesline to take The Wall off his feet. Page dropped a couple elbows to The Wall before allowing Wall to start pulling himself up and Page hit the discuss clothesline to take The Wall back down! But as Page started to find the momentum he needed Johnny Stamboli and Kimberly Page slowly made their way down to the ring, Kim still sporting the neckbrace around her neck from the Diamond Cutter at Mayhem. They caught Page's attention long enough to distract him and The Wall to recover. When Page turned around, he walked right into The Wall's big hand and the Chokeslam! The Wall hooked Page's leg - One, Two, Three! WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (60/62/56) After the match, The Towers of Terror left Page alone in the ring as Stamboli slid in with his chain! He immediately delivered a running forearm smash with the chain wrapped around his arm to Page! Page hit the mat and Stamboli unleashed another assault to DDP with the chain...wrapping the chain around Page's throat and trying to choke the life out of him. WCW officials and security hit the ring to pull Stamboli off of him. Stamboli and Kim returned to the back as medics checked on DDP. ----- But Hey...We're Still Friends Backstage Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were hanging out in their locker room when Scott Steiner joined them. They shook hands and high fived, with Nash offering Steiner a beer. Steiner declined it and they began to talk about War Games. Nash called it a 'bummer' that Booker wouldn't let him on the team, but he's the captain. Hall gave a "salute" to Captain Booker T as Steiner complained about being blamed for the attack on Shane Helms. Steiner asked them to be serious for a moment and ask if they really think he could've done it. After a momentary awkward silence, Nash started to say "Well...." An outraged Steiner couldn't believe even they didn't buy his story. Nash said that he and Steiner go way back and he just knows the kind of things Steiner is capable of...and well, he wouldn't put it past him to do something like that. Steiner said this was getting ridiculous before he stormed out. Nash called out "but hey, we're still friends!" but Steiner was gone. (79%) ----- Sean O'Haire vs. Shane Douglas In a match that came into being earlier tonight when an interview with O'Haire broke down into a brawl with Shane Douglas, these two went back and forth in a slow and a at times sloppy little brawl. Douglas and O'Haire did not seem to have much chemistry with each other in the ring. After O'Haire started strong, Douglas snuck in an eye poke and a finger stomp to get the upperhand against O'Haire. Douglas would pick up a few nearfalls along the way off of a side belly-to-belly suplex and an inverted suplex slam - but O'Haire kicked out of both. A piledriver attempted was blocked and reversed into a back body drop by O'Haire which sparked his comeback. A judo kick from O'Haire laid out Douglas for a two count. O'Haire continued in control and eventaully hit the Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam to set up Douglas for the Seanton Bomb! O'Haire executed it perfectly and made the pin - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Sean O'Haire by pinfall (74/76/71) ----- The Black Sheep As O'Haire had his arm lifted in victory, Crowbar slowly made his way down to the ring. O'Haire watched as Crowbar climbed into the ring and took the microphone. Crowbar calmly spoke as he began to explain his actions. He said everyone wanted to know if he had been brainwashed by Lance Storm into helping him. The easy answer to that question is...No. In fact, Lance Storm honestly has no idea why Crowbar has been doing what he's been doing lately. Well, it's time for some answers as he knows Storm and O'Haire both want answers and the people at home want answers. Crowbar explained that he had a story to tell. A story about a Canadian born woman named Victoria who became pregnant....but it was on a business trip to Minnesota where she unexpectedly went into labor. This young woman from a proud Canadian family gave birth to a native born American child and named him Devon. Once the child was born, they returned to Canada and lived their life. However, the family never looked at Devon the same way they looked at everyone else. This proud Canadian family treated him differently because he wasn't born on their Canadian soil. It wasn't long for even his own parents began treating him like second rate. When he turned 18...Devon left Canada, to America...looking for acceptance. But no matter where he went...Devon could never find acceptance. Devon pursued a wrestling career because he thought he could make a name for himself and be accepted. But he has never truly felt that way...he was outcasted from his own family as a black sheep and he continued to be a black sheep no matter where he went. It's been over ten years since he'd seen anyone from that family...most don't even know who he is or have forgotten of his existance. Crowbar revealed that that the story was about him....DEVON STORM. All he ever wanted was to be accepted by his own family and his country. But no, he was always considered an AMERICAN. All he really ever wanted was acceptance from the Storm Family. And especially from his older cousin...Lance. O'Haire tried to tell Crowbar that he didn't need acceptance from ANYONE...he's a damn fine wrestler and he doesn't need Lance Storm or anyone else's approval. He's in America and America is happy to have him. Crowbar said that O'Haire doesn't understand, NOBODY understands. How could they? O'Haire started "Crowbar..." "Devon" - he corrected him. "My name is Devon Storm." Whatever, O'Haire responded - he wanted to help him and that he was his friend. But as O'Haire approached Devon, he shoved him back and O'Haire started to lose his cool. But before anything could happen, Lance Storm hit the ring and attacked O'Haire from behind! Storm took O'Haire to the mat and began stomping on the back of O'Haire's head before hitting a cradle piledriver to O'Haire! Devon just watched as Lance got to his feet and the two stared down. Lance offered his hand out to Devon....Devon stared at it briefly, before accepting the handshake to boos from the crowd! Storm pulled his little cousin in for a hug as apparently Devon had gotten acceptance from the family he had been cast aside from for so many years. (71%) ----- MAIN EVENT Goldberg vs. Sting The winner of this match would received a WCW World Title shot against Booker T next week right here on Nitro. Tenay quickly reminded us that it was Sting who one upped Goldberg last time these two had a one-on-one match back at Bash at the Beach, but now the stakes were much higher. Sting and Goldberg traded blows to start the match out, which Sting briefly got the upperhand on before Goldberg came back off the ropes with a shoulderblock. Sting was quick back to his feet but Goldberg was also quick back on the attack. As the match settled into a slower pace, Goldberg took control and kept Sting down on the mat most of the match. But once Sting started to mount a comeback, things tarted to break down. Sting hit a Stiner Splash to Goldberg - bringing out Curt Hennig from the back! Hennig slid into the ring, but Sting disposed of him with a clothesline. However, Sting would accidentally hit referee Nick Patrick with a wild right hand that was ducked by Goldberg. As the ref hit the mat - out came Ric Flair, Shawn Stasiak, and Mark Jindrak as well! As Sting tried to fight off the entire Gentlemen's Club - Booker T, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Rey Mysterio, and Billy Kidman rushed to the ring as well! It was mass chaos in the ring and at ringside as the faces began to drive Hennig, Stasiak, and Jindrak back up the ramp and away from ringside. The faces gave chase to the back, but they didn't notice Flair had hid under the ring! Flair snuck back out from under the apron as Sting was locking the Scorpion Deathlock into Goldberg! Flair entered the ring and attacked Sting from behind! Sting hit the mat and Flair was putting the boots to him when Scott Steiner ran down to the ring! Steiner entered the ring as referee Nick Patrick was starting to come to! Steiner tossed Flair into the corner and began unloading punches to Flair in the corner. Both Sting, Goldberg, and Nick Patrick were starting to get up, but it was Goldberg who went after Steiner, pulling him away from Flair. Steiner almost instinctively nailed Goldberg with a right hand right in froont of the recovered Nick Patrick! Patrick had no choice but to call for the bell and disqualify Sting! WINNER - Goldberg by disqualification (83/91/66) Goldberg left the ring with Flair as it would be Goldberg challenging for the WCW World Title next week against Booker T! But for now, to end the show - a visibly upset Sting was getting in Steiner's face for costing him the match - though his intentions were well. The show came to a close as it looked like Steiner and Sting may come to blows! OVERALL - 76%

WCW Thursday Thunder August 30, 2001 From the University Arena in Albuquerque, New Mexico Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest "The Cat" Miller Welcome to WCW Thursday Thunder where with every show we inch closer and closer to Fall Brawl and the much anticipated War Games match. But before we even get to Fall Brawl - this coming Nitro we will see a huge WCW Title match on free TV as Booker T will defend the World Title against The Gentlemen's Club's Goldberg. We see a recap of what brought about that title match as it was Goldberg vs. Sting for a shot at the title on the next Nitro. After the entire Gentlemen's Club interfered against Sting - only to have The Outsiders & The Filthy Animals fend off the Gentlemen's Club....but Ric Flair remained at ringside and attempted to help Goldberg. However, Scott Steiner showed up to make the save...but when Goldberg attacked Steiner and Steiner retaliated - it was caught by referee Nick Patrick and the match was awarded to Goldberg! After the replace, Sting made his way down to the ring and he was clearly NOT happy. Sting took the microphone and said that up until this Tuesday, he was on Scott Steiner's side. He thought Booker was being being too hard on Steiner and was all for giving him another shot. But then Steiner cost him a shot at the WCW title. And well, now he's starting to see things a little differently. With each passing day, Steiner's looking more and more suspicious to him. This brought out Scott Steiner himself, who once again wanted to defend his case. He told Sting that if it wasn't for him - Flair and Goldberg would've done whatever they wanted to him. Steiner was out there to help Sting - and he definitely didn't mean to cost Sting a title shot. It was all just bad timing. Sting said there seemed to be a whole lot of 'conincidences' going on with Steiner - and it was hard to buy all of them. Sting said he wasn't at all happy with what went down on Tuesday, and someone needs to pay for him losing out on the title shot...and since it was Steiner's fault, it might as well be Steiner. That's why in tonight's main event...Sting and Steiner will face off, one-on-one! Sting left Steiner alone in the ring as he continued to try and plead his case. (86%) ----- The Towers of Terror (w/Mike Sanders & Jimmy Hart) vs. Tommy Dreamer & Jerry Lynn Dreamer's quest for the WCW Extreme Championship will continue at Fall Brawl - but tonight it was tag action as he teamed with his good friend Jerry Lynn to take on the terrifying team of Mike Awesome and WCW Extreme Champion The Wall. This was not under Extreme Rules, so all men were limited to your standard regulation rules. The duo of Awesome and Wall were proving to be as dominat as ever - as Dreamer and Lynn were barely able to get any offense in against them. Especially with Lynn in the ring, he just gave up too much size and power to match up with Hart & Sanders' monster pair. But Dreamer and Lynn did not give up and kept at least trying to take the fight to them. As Wall worked over Lynn violently in the corner, Dreamer tried to make the save but Wall took him down with a right hand. Referee Billy Silverman forced Dreamer out of the ring. Dreamer began to grow very frustrated at the fact that he was unable to get the hot tag to Lynn...so he went to ringside and pulled out his barbedwire 2x4! Dreamer entered the ring and attacked The Wall with it, getting himself DQ'ed. WINNERS - The Towers of Terror by disqualification (76/67/82) Dreamer took Awesome down to the mat with a swing of the barbedwire 2x4. He then ducked a big boot from the Wall and gave him another shot with that 2x4 before clotheslining The Wall over the top rope to the floor! Sanders and Hart subdued their two big men on the outside as Dreamer stood tall in the ring armed with his trusty weapon. ----- Annoying Fans Backstage, the trio of 3 Count were busy discussing the choreography for tonight's performance. An attractive blonde female approached them, and asked if she could have a moment of their time. Shannon Moore said they weren't giving out autographes right now. She asked once again - urging them to take a second to meet with her so she could 'discuss' something them. Evan Karagias turned and asked her if she was deaf, and told her to take a hike. The female gave a smirk before turning and walking off. Moore said that sometimes he hates being so famous, because fans can really be annoying. (77%) ----- Lash LeRoux vs. Yang (w/Leia Meow) Filler cruiserweight action! First time we've seen Yang in a while, though we have seen his Jung Dragons teammate Kaz Hayashi recently in the Cruiserweight Mayhem match. Callis promoted this match as a chance for either one of these guys to get an upperhand in the cruiserweight division standings. Who knew someone was actually keeping up with a championship standings? In any event, the match itself was pretty good - as LeRoux and Yang went back and forth early. LeRoux took control and nearly had the win off of a spinout powerbomb - but Yang got his shoulder up just in time. LeRoux continued on the attack and even busted out his punch/clothesline juke'n'jivin' Bourbon Street Blues combination - but Yang kicked out again at two. LeRoux lifted Yang up for the Whiplash, but Yang escaped down LeRoux's back and rolled him up for a two count. Yang impressed with a hanging figure four necklock over the ropes, but it had to be broken at the five count. After a scoop slam, Yang hit the Yang Time to LeRoux to pick up the victory! WINNER - Yang by pinfall (69/53/86) ----- Payment Backstage, Chris Kanyon entered an office backstage where Ted DiBiase was sitting at a desk with Chuck Palumbo standing behind him. DiBiase asked Kanyon if he was bringing him the rest of the money. Kanyon said he was able to get most of it, but still is a little short. DiBiase was not pleased by this news, but Kanyon begged for some mercy from DiBiase - saying this was literally all he could come up with. DiBiase asked Kanyon if Palumbo needed to do another round on him. Kanyon braced himself for a fight as Palumbo cracked his knuckles. DiBiase said he was going to cut Kanyon a break...he would get a match made for Fall Brawl...Chris Kanyon vs. Chuck Palumbo...and if Kanyon can beat Palumbo, then consider the debt repaid with no problem. But if Palumbo wins...well, DiBiase laughed - let's just say Kanyon better win. (72%) ----- The Outsiders vs. Double Jeopardy (w/Tammy Sytch) Yikes this one was not pretty. Especially anytime Bigelow and Nash were in the ring together, which was a good portion of the match. Nash pretty much single handedly held his own in the ring against Bigelow and Candido early - and once Hall was brought in against Candido, he picked up where his partner left off. However, when Candido was able to make the tag to Bigelow - Bigelow managed to have limited success against Hall. But the momentary heat on Hall to make the tag was short lived as he soon as able to get the tag to Nash. Nash came in and took out Bigelow with a Big Boot before sending him into the corner where he threw several back elbows to the Beast from the East. Nash then brought Bigelow out with a Sidewalk slam. Candido flew into the ring with a dropkick to Nash that had little effect. Hall entered the ring and took out Candido before hitting him with the Fallaway Slam. Nash worked over Bigelow a bit more before finishing him off with the Jackknife Powerbomb. Nash made the cover - One, Two, Three! Big tag victory for the Outsiders as they move towards War Games! WINNERS - The Outsiders by pinfall (63/66/59) ----- Booker T is NEXT Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with the new number one contender to the WCW Title - Goldberg. Goldberg dismissed any thoughts of his win being tainted due to the DQ - and said that a win was a win, that's the way he always looked at it. And on Tuesday, there will be no hiding for Booker T. He said it was pretty conveniant that Goldberg hadn't received a title shot since Booker T won the title, and accused Booker of ducking Goldberg. Goldberg promised that at Fall Brawl, it would be him, not Booker T bringing the WCW World Title to War Games. Because Booker T....YOU'RE NEXT! (86%) ----- Andrew Martin vs. Buff Bagwell Woo more Buff Bagwell on Thunder! Andrew Martin needed to get back on track after recent losses to Lance Storm for the United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title. He and Buff went toe-to-toe from the opening bell - trading blows back and forth. Martin quickly took control and got a nearfall off of a sidewalk slam. A facerake from Bagwell allowed him to take control of the offense. After an atomic drop, Bagwell took Martin to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker - but it only got him a two count. Bagwell continued on the offensive, taking Martin to the mat with a double underhook DDT. But after hitting the move, instead of going for the pin, he gave his classic Buff strut to the disdain of the crowd! By the time he stopped and turned around...he was met with a charging clothesline from Martin! Martin didn't let up from here and made short work of Bagwell, hitting the Big Boot followed by the Pumphandle Slam for the three count. WINNER - Andrew Martin by pinfall (69/73/62) ----- Family Matters Backstage, Michelle Gold was with the newly re-united cousins Lance and Devon Storm. Gold asked Lance if he knew anything about Devon being his cousin. Lance Storm said that he remembered his 'American' cousin Devon from when he was growing up...but his family did not speak of him much after he turned 18 and moved away. To be honest, Lance had forgotten all about him. But he's glad that he has come forth with this information, becasue family is very important to Lance. He apologized to Devon for the years of torment he went through searching for acceptance from his family. Lance said he accepts Devon...as long as Devon is willing to renounce his 'American' citizenship. Devon said that of course he did - he never really considered himself American anyway - he is a member of the Storm family and he bleeds Canadian red and white...there's no blue to be found in him. Lance shook his head and promised that the Storm name would be dominating WCW for years to come. (68%) ----- Hot Commodity Evan Karagias, Shannon Moore, and Joey Matthews made their way down to the ring for the 'much anticipated' 3 count concert tonight. They brought they platforms down to the ring and put them in place as the crowd booed them. Moore thanked the fans for coming out tonight and they were in for a real treat. They promised that TONIGHT they would debut their NEW hit single, the first with new member Joey Matthews. But first, they wanted to sing some classics. They began with "Can't Get You out of my Heart" - which was hard to hear over the boos. After completing one song, they were starting to sing "Dance with 3 Count" - but the song was interrupted as the same female 'fan' from earlier walked out onto stage with a microphone. "Sorry to interrupt" - she said as she walked out. An outraged Karagias asked her what she was doing out here - if she wants an autograph, there will be time for that AFTER the concert. She said she hated to hurt their egos - but she's not here for an autograph. She actually is not a fan at all of 3 count. She introduced herself as Alicia Webb. She wished she could've taken care of this backstage and off-camera...since she didn't want to cause any embarassment. But you see, she's outhere because of the unfair treatment Karagias and Moore gave to Cassidy O'Reilly in the search for the new member of 3 Count. The guys in the ring laughed at the mere mention of O'Reilly. She assured them that they would not be laughing much longer. Because they may have thought after they did what they did...they would never have to see O'Reilly again. But they were wrong...he's not going anywhere. And in fact, he's brought some help to take out 3 Count! Suddenly, from the crowd, Cassidy O'Reilly and Air Paris stormed the ring and hit simultaneous dropkicks to Moore and Matthews respectively. Moore and Matthews were sent rolling out of the ring as Karagias was left alone in the ring! O'Reilly hit an atomic drop to Karagias as Air Paris hit a jumping heel kick enziguri! Karagias was sent rolling out of the ring Alicia walked down to the ring to join the two men in the ring. She introduced the team as 3-count's worst nigtmare, Hot Commodity. (73%) ----- MAIN EVENT Scott Steiner vs. Sting Steiner and Sting went face to face to start the match, and they quickly locked up. Steiner took the early advantage with his power. Steiner worked over Sting in the corner before taking him to the mat with a back suplex. Steiner made the cover, but only got a two count on the Stinger. Sting fought his way back, taking over the advantage until the match spilled to ringside where Steiner excelled. Steiner slammed Sting into the guard rail and then into the announce booth before sending Sting back into the ring. Steiner followed him back in and dropped an elbow down across Sting! One, Two, kickout by Sting! The crowd rallied behind Sting to get him back into the match. Sting hit some wild right hands to Steiner to get him staggering before Sting took Steiner to the mat with a clothesline. Sting continued on the attack as both men got to their feet with an atomic drop followed by a one handed bulldog! Another pinfall attempt for Sting resulted in a two count. Sting went for a diving kneedrop, but Steiner rolled out of the way - giving Steiner the chance to strike and he did not hesitant. A Steinerline from Sting took the Stinger down to the mat. Steiner slowly plodded his way through on offense, hitting a sloppy belly-to-belly suplex to Sting before making the cover - One, Two, kickout by Sting! Steiner continued to be in control on offense as he took Sting to the corner and set him up on the turnbuckles. Steiner attempted to climb the turnbuckles with Sting, but Sting fought him off! Sting came off the top with a Diving DDT to Steiner that had both men down! With both men on the mat Stacy Keibler and Curt Hennig made their way down to the ring! Sting and Steiner both got to their feet at the same time and began exchanging right hands. Sting sent Steiner into the ropes...STINGER SPLASH! Sting whipped Steiner into the opposite corner and charged in for a second Stinger Splash...but Steiner moved! Sting collided with the turnbuckles and dropped to a knee as Steiner also fell to his knees in exhaustion. With both men struggling to get to their feet, Stacy Keibler climbed onto the apron - distracting referee Charles Robinson as Curt Hennig slid into the ring with brass knuckles around his fist...PUNCH TO THE HEAD OF STING! Sting was laid out by Hennig, and Henning exited just as quickly as he had entered. Keibler climbed down off the apron as Steiner pulled himself up - all of this had happened with Steiner's back turned. Hennig and Keibler were gone and Steiner just saw the downed Sting. Assuming Sting was still down from colliding with the turnbuckles, Steiner looked to take advantage. He pulled Sting to the center of the ring and locked in the Steiner Recliner! The crowd booed as an oblivious Steiner benefited from the Gentlemen's Club's attack! Robinson checked on Sting, but he was out cold. He called for the bell. WINNER - Scott Steiner by submission (TKO) (78/87/58) After the match, Steiner stopped his celebration as he noticed the instant replay on ThunderVision. When he saw Curt Hennig had been the deciding factor in the match, he instantly lost his temper and slammed the turnbuckles in anger. He turned to Sting and tried to help him to his feet, but Sting shoved himself away from Steiner and left the ring. The show came to a close as Steiner stood alone in the ring, looking dejected in his victory. OVERALL - 74% ---------

WCW Tuesday Nitro September 4, 2001 Live from the Myriad Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti The build towards Fall Brawl and War Games continued tonight as a huge WCW World Title match would put the Captain of Team Booker - WCW Champion Booker T himself defending the WCW title against one of the members of the team they face at Fall Brawl in War Games - Goldberg. But to kick the show off Booker T made his way down to the ring to a decent pop from the crowd. Booker T climbed into the ring and repeated that he would be facing Goldberg later tonight for the WCW title...but that's not what he's doing out here right now...there's another matter at hand that he needed to address. As we were all aware, there was still one spot left on Team Booker that he had yet to name a member for after Shane Helms was attack and put out of the match. He's out here tonight to name the final member of Team Booker! And he said there was no need to drag it out any further. The star has been proving throughout the years that you can't always judge a book by it's cover. He has been known as the Giant Killer and has all the tenacity that he is looking for in a teammate. And he certainly knows if there's anyone he can trust it's him...the final member of Team Booker would be...Rey Mysterio! "Pyscho" brought Rey Mysterio down to the ring to cheers from the crowd. Rey slid into the ring and bumped fists with Booker. Rey was glad to get the honor of being on Team Booker alongside the Champ himself and the legend Sting and of course The Outsiders. He was looking for to getting in the ring with them to take on The Gentlemen's Club. But not everyone was thrilled by Booker's decision. Sirens went off, bringing Scott Steiner down to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Steiner climbed into the ring and said he couldn't believe Booker would choose Rey over him. No offense to Rey, but look at him...and look at Steiner. Need he explain himself? Booker told Steiner that he doesn't need to keep repeating himself as to why Steiner isn't going to be on the team. He's been suspicious at best during his return to WCW...and then last week on Thunder - the way he defeated Sting...less than reputable. Steiner defended himself again - claiming to have been completely unaware of the interference from Curt Hennig. Steiner demanded to know what he could do to prove himself. Booker said it was too late, the team was set and Steiner was out of luck. (81%) ----- Andrew Martin vs. Devon Storm (w/Lance Storm) After weeks of helping out Lance in matches against Andrew Martin and Sean O'Haire - last week the former Crowbar revealed his true identity to Lance and the world...that he was Lance's little outcast cousin Devon. This was Devon's first match under his true identity, and he certainly had a different demeanor in the ring. He was all business and was no longer aimlessly and wrecklessly throwing himself around the ring. He was more methodic in his approach as he worked over Martin, who was looking for some payback to Devon for costing him two shots at the United States/Canadian Heavyweight title. Martin used his size advantage to be in control of Devon for a majority of the match, but the prescense of Lance Storm at ringside proved to be very beneficial for Devon. When Martin was going for the Pumphandle Slam, Lance slid Devon's old trusty crowbar into the ring before climbing onto the apron and distracting referee Mark Armstrong. Martin shoved Storm, but turned around into a crowbar shot to the midsection! Devon Storm then hit the Storm Warning (formerly the Mind Bender) to get the three count victory! WINNER - Devon Storm by pinfall via interference (71/69/73) After the match, Lance and Devon looked to add insult to injury - but Sean O'Haire sprinted down to the ring! Devon and Lance saw him coming, and immediately high tailed it out of the ring and through the crowd. O'Haire didn't even stop to check on Martin, instead he gave chase - hopping the barrier and chasing the Storm cousins through the crowd. ----- Added Insurance WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero made his way down to the ring with Kronik trailing behind him. Guerrero entered the ring with Kronik and took the microphone. Guerrero explained that after the success he saw last week with Kronik squashing his competition - Guerrero saw the services of Kronik as a real investment. So much so that he planned to continue to pay him as a form of insurance to keep the Cruiserweight Title around his waist. So tonight, as he takes on Psicosis in non-title action - he wants Juventud Guerrera to pay close attention to what is in store for him at Fall Brawl. (75%) ----- Non-Title Match Chavo Guerrero (w/Kronik) vs. Psicosis (w/Juventud Guerrera) Juvi wasn't just going to be watching closely, he was going to be watching from ringside as he came to the ring with his Mexico's Most Wanted partner, Psicosis. You wouldn't expect anything less than an amazing match when it involves any of these three - so with Chavo squaring off against Psicosis - it certainly did not let down. The crowds are starting to get more and more into these matches as well. With some clever underhanded cheating behind the referee's back - as Juvi tried to help his partner, but actually only hurt him as he distracted referee Charles Robinson - allowing Chavo to get his trademarked cheating in - Chavo seemed to be in control for a good majority of the match. But with the crowd behind him, Psicosis started to battle his way back. But after Psicosis hit a sitout powerbomb to Chavo - Kronik came to attention. Brian Adams entered the ring, but was cut off by Charles Robinson! This allowed Bryan Clarke to enter the ring and level Psicosis with the Big Boot! Juvi slid into the ring, but out of the corner of his eye - Robinson saw him! Robinson cut off Juvi, which allowed Kronik to double team Psicosis and hit the HIGH TIMES! Chavo crawled over and made the pin as Clarke left the ring and Adams took out Juvi! One - Two - Three! WINNER - Chavo Guerrero by pinfall via interference (88/77/100) Postmatch - Juvi was brought into the ring where Adams and Clarke restrained him - allowing Chavo to give him a slap across the face and then knock him out with the Cruiserweight Title. Chavo posed with the Cruiserweight title over Juvi and Psicosis with Kronik standing in the background as we went to break. ----- Restrained Coming back from the break, Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli and Kimberly Page made their way down to the ring to boos from the crowd. Stamboli had his chain in hand as they climbed into the ring and Kimberly took the microphone. She was still wearing her neckbrace from the Diamond Cutter she recieved at Mayhem. They then discussed the upcoming Chain Match at Fall Brawl and promised this would be the LAST chapter in the Page-Stamboli battle. And she promised that much like in life, Stamboli will come out on top. Stamboli then treated us to a replay of last week which saw him give Page a brutal beatdown with the same chain he held in his hands now. As the replay came to a close, "SELF HIGH FIVE" hit the PA System and Diamond Dallas Page emerged from the back. He started to head towards the ring with a purpose - but Kim stopped him in his tracks. She pulled out a piece of paper from her handbag and told Page he couldn't come any closer. She explained that after Page dropped her with the Diamond Cutter at Mayhem - she had been fearing for her life. She knew what Page was capable of and was afraid of what he might do to her. That's why she received a Restraining Order against Page! She told Page he couldn't come any closer or he would be arrested! A couple rent-a-cops walked from the back and stood in front of Page as a physical barrier. Page couldn't help but smirk as he backed his way up the ramp. He asked for a microphone and was handed one. He told Kim she could use all the tricks in the book to keep him away - but at Fall Brawl, there would be no restraining order keeping him from kicking Stamboli's ass and making him FEEL....THE.... BANG! (76%) ----- Scott Hall (w/Kevin Nash) vs. Mark Jindrak (w/Shawn Stasiak & Stacy Keibler) Scott Hall of Team Booker squared off against The Gentlemen's Club's Mark Jindrak in a one-on-one preview of things to come in the War Games match. The veteran Hall took it to the youngster Jindrak from the opening bell - including tossing his trademark toothpick right in Jindrak's face. But Jindrak withstood Hall's offensive onslaught to open the match, and with an assist from Stasiak at ringside - Jindrak overpowered Hall and took control! Nash was vocal at ringside, complaining to referee Billy Silverman about the officiating. Jindrak brought out some restholds to try and keep Hall down on the mat, which made the crowd a little restless. Nash led the crowd in getting Hall back into the match. Hall battled his way to his feet and hit a belly to back suplex to Jindrak. Both men staggered to their feet and Hall hit his puncho combination followed by a discuss punch. Jindrak looked to be in trouble, which brought Stasiak to the apron...only to have Nash pull him back down! Nash sent Stasiak into the guard rail as Hall hit the Fallaway Slam to Jindrak! Hall signaled that it was all over, and it certainly was once he hit the Outsider's Edge to Jindrak. Hall made the cover and picked up the three count! WINNER - Scott Hall by pinfall (76/78/72) Hall tossed Jindrak out to ringside to join Stasiak and Keibler as Nash climbed into the ring. The Outsiders celebrated for the crowd to big cheers. ----- The Attacker Strikes Again? Backstage, Ric Flair and Curt Hennig were both waiting as Shawn Stasiak and Mark Jindrak returned from the ring where Jindrak had just lost to Scott Hall. Flair gave them a verbal beatdown about losing to Hall, and told them he expected more out of members of the Gentlemen's Club. But he said at least he had Goldberg to fall back on, as he could always count on him and tonight the WCW Title would be coming back to the Gentlemen's Club where it belongs. The shriek of one Stacy Keibler came running into the picture. She asked Flair to come quick, because something had happened to Goldberg. Flair and company followed Keibler to find WCW officials and random stars crowded around as medics ran in to find an unconcious and bloodied Goldberg! Flair demanded to know what happened, but no one around seemed to have any answers. Although they did find a bloody lead pipe lying right next to Goldberg! As medics attended to Goldberg, Flair's face was turning so red it looked like it might just explode. Tenay and Gilberti wondered what this meant not just for tonight's title match...but for War Games as well! ----- A Million Dollar Demonstration Ted DiBiase made his way down to the ring with Chuck Palumbo by his side. Palumbo held open the ropes, allowing DiBiase to enter the ring. Palumbo then entered himself and DiBiase took the microphone. DiBiase ran down his business philosophy - and how he was available to anyone in the back who needs money fast...but he told them to be prepared to pay it back with interest. And if they didn't pay it back, they would have to deal with Chuck Palumbo. DiBiase explained that Chris Kanyon found this out the hard way. And just to give everyone a feel for what Palumbo is capable of and what is going to happen to Kanyon at Fall Brawl, DiBiase had arranged a demonstration. (76%) ----- Chuck Palumbo (w/Ted DiBiase) vs. Midas The masked luchadore version of David Flair made his way down to the ring to apparently be the source of this 'demonstration.' Midas stood firm and with confidence in the ring and asked for a handshake from Palumbo, but Palumbo responded to the request with a stiff left hand! This one would be all Palumbo as he dished out the punishment to Midas. Palumbo dished out a diving shoulderblock, a running big boot, and an overhead belly to belly suplex before finishing Midas off with The Jungle Kick for the three count. WINNER - Chuck Palumbo by pinfall (65/66/64) DiBiase climbed into the ring and raised Palumbo's arm in victory. Tenay and Gilberti were both impressed by Palumbo's domination of Midas, and commented that this could mean trouble for Kanyon at Fall Brawl! ----- Change of Plans The tunes of "American Made" brought out our Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan. Hogan came out to a big reaction from the crowd as he headed down the ramp and climbed into the ring. Hogan took the microphone and announced that the much anticipated and heavily promoted Goldberg vs. Booker T match for the WCW World Title would NOT be happening tonight. This was met to loud boos from the crowd. Hogan explained that a mystery attacker had done to Goldberg what had already been done to Shane Helms a couple weeks ago. And now Hogan was left without a main event and The Gentlemen's Club was left without a fifth member! Hogan doesn't know who was behind these attacks...or if it was the same person, though both attacks seem pretty consistent with each other. "Rap Sheet" hit the PA system as WCW World Champion Booker T made his way down to the ring. Booker climbed into the ring. Booker said that there is no doubt in his mind that Scott Steiner was behind both the attack tonight and the one against Shane Helms. At first Booker thought that Steiner was trying to get on Team Booker just to turn on them and join The Gentlemen's Club...but after the attack on Goldberg, it's clear to him that Steiner is only looking out for himself. Steiner has made it perfectly clear that his main objective was to get his hands on Goldberg. And it looks like he finally got his wish. Booker T shook his head in disgust - he said that Steiner took the coward's way out. "Siren" hit the PA system, bringing out Big Poppa Pump himself. Scott Steiner made his way down to the ring to another big mixed reaction from the crowd. Steiner climbed into the ring and said he was tired of hearing Booker T talk all this trash about him. He admitted that yes, he would've loved to have put Goldberg out of commission - but he would not have done it that way. He wanted another MATCH with Goldberg. He said whoever was attacking Helms and Goldberg was clearly trying to set him up and it sure looks like it's working! Booker T said he didn't want to hear any excuses from Steiner. Booker turned to Hogan and told Hogan that he came here tonight to defend the WCW World Title...and if someone has taken out Goldberg so that he's unable to compete, well - Booker T still wants to defend the title...RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW! And since Steiner is already in the ring and he's been wanting to smack some sense into Steiner for the past few weeks - he might as well defend against Steiner! Steiner didn't argue, and simply told Booker if that's the way he wants to do it - he has no problem accepting any title shot. He told him to not hold it against him when he walks out as champion, however. (89%) ----- WCW World Title Match Booker T (c) vs. Scott Steiner Oh how things change so quickly in WCW. With Goldberg out of commission, Steiner accepted this impromptu title match - and who can blame him? The match quickly got underway with a lockup that saw Steiner take the advantage out of. Booker T quickly fought back however, but ran into a brick wall of a shoulder block from Steiner. Tenay and Gilberti spent a good portion of the match debating to whether or not Steiner should be trusted or if he was responsible for either one of the attacks. One thing is for sure though, he certainly wanted to make the best of this opportunity to get the WCW title back...the belt he lost to the very same Booker T back in April at WCW's Night of Champions Nitro. The crowd didn't seem to be buying into Steiner's defense - as they were solidly behind the WCW champion in this match up. After back and forth offense in the opening minutes, Steiner took Booker down to the mat with a side suplex and kept on the offensive towards Booker. Steiner hit a belly-to-belly to Booker - but was only able to get a two count. Steiner didn't let up however, and took Booker down with a Steinerline before locking in an STF! Booker T refused to give in and fought his way to the ropes where Steiner released the hold immediately. Booker T saw his opportunity to build some momentum after Steiner went for an elbowdrop, but he rolled out of the way! Booker T battled to his feet and began unleashing punches and chops at rapid fire pace to Steiner's chest. Booker sent Steiner into the ropes and took him down with a crescent kick! A Harlem Sidekick from Booker earned the champion a two count over his challenger. Booker's offense continued until he ran into an Exploder Suplex from Steiner! Both men were down as Steiner struggled to get to his feet. Steiner made the cover finally but only got two! Steiner began to pull Booker up, only to have Booker to start fighting back! Steiner attempted to end Booker's comeback with a Steinerline, but Booker ducked and Steiner took out referee Mark Armstrong! Steiner turned around into a boot to the midsection followed by the Scissors Kick from Booker! Booker T came to his feet with the spinaroonie which drew a big pop from the crowd. But as Booker was getting to his feet - Curt Hennig slid into the ring and attacked Booker from behind! Ric Flair came down to the ring and grabbed a chair from ringside before climbing into the ring. Hennig held Booker up in a full nelson as Flair entered the ring with the chair. Flair reared back to hit Booker with the chair...but Steiner came up from behind and snatched the chair from Flair! Booker fought free of the full nelson and turned around to hit Hennig with rights and lets as Steiner laid out Flair with a chairshot! Booker T whipped Hennig towards Steiner and Steiner decked Hennig with the chair! Steiner and Booker stared each other down and Steiner tossed the chair to ringside! They then together turned and picked up Flair and Hennig before tossing them out of the ring! Tenay announced that we were out of time! The big title match would be ruled a no contest with the ref bump and the outside interference.....but the show came to a close as Steiner extended his arm out to Booker for a handshake. Booker T hesitated, but just as Nitro was cutting to black...Booker accepted the handshake! WINNER - No Contest (78/85/64) OVERALL - 79% ---------

WCW Thursday Thunder September 6, 2001 From the Tulsa Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest 'The Cat' Miller A recap of Nitro kicked the show off - focusing on the attack on Goldberg that left him out of action for his scheduled title match against Booker T on Nitro as well as the upcoming War Games match at Fall Brawl. Big questions still surround War Games that is NEXT week...will we get any answers tonight? Callis & The Cat welcome us to the show - hyping up tonight's show which will feature some Extreme Division action, some tag team action, and in the main event - Scott Steiner will take on Curt Hennig of the Gentlemen's Club. The Jung Dragons (w/Leia Meow) vs. Hot Commodity (w/Alicia Webb) Last week Alicia Webb showed up with Cassidy O'Reilly and Air Paris to surprise 3-Count. O'Reilly did not take kindly to the treatment he received by 3 Count in their audition process to find a new member of the group, so he found himself a buddy in Air Paris to form this team with the intentions of going right at 3 Count. But tonight, the duo made their in ring debut together against The Jung Dragons. This was a fast paced tag match with all four men going back and forth. It was mainly used to demonstrate O'Reilly and Paris' teamwork together - as they worked in fluid motion - impressing with double dropkicks, double legsweeps, and a sequence that saw Reilly take down Hayashi with a drop toe hold as Paris ran in with a sommersault senton to Hayashi! In the end, the duo finished off the Dragons as O'Reilly gave Yang an atomic drop as Air Paris ran in with a jumping heel enziguri kick which Don Callis explained they call 'The Hot Shot.' O'Reilly made the cover as Paris kept Hayashi from making the save and picked up the victory. WINNER - Hot Commodity by pinfall (71/50/92) After the match, 3 Count was shown watching backstage, unhappy to see their new competitors coming out on top. Callis announced that at Fall Brawl, the two teams would meet in tag team action! ----- Flair Still has a Trick Up His Sleeve Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with the leader of the Gentlemen's Club and captain of his team at Fall Brawl's War Games - Ric Flair. Obviously a huge wrench has been thrown in his plans with Goldberg being attacked. Flair said that he doesn't know who is messing with this match and attacking people...but if he found out, there would definitely be Hell to pay. As for War Games - Goldberg being taken out was a huge blow to his team, much more so than Shane Helms on Team Booker. But Flair explained he still had every bit of confidence in his team, because he still had a plan. Things haven't changed that much for Flair and he still has a trick or two up his sleeve for Fall Brawl. He said he already knew who would replace Goldberg on his team, but he wasn't letting any secrets out right now. In fact, we would not find out until the actual PPV...until then, it would just have to be a mystery. (100%) ----- Chris Kanyon vs. Kash Kanyon's money troubles were the talk of Callis and The Cat here as Kanyon tried to get back on the winning ways - something he hasn't had much luck doing since his return from injury. Kanyon definitely needed a win to gather some momentum with Fall Brawl and his match against Chuck Palumbo right around the corner. If Kanyon was able to defeat Palumbo, his debt with Ted DiBiase would be wiped clean. Which made it kind of ironic that his opponent tonight was named Kash. In any event, Kanyon looked back on his A-Game tonight as he took on Kash. Kanyon used his slight size advantage over the cruiserweight to his advantage. But that did not stop Kash from bending the rules to take control over Kanyon briefly. But when Kash went for the Money Maker, Kanyon countered it by turning Kash around and lifting him up into a shoulder lift and then dropping him into a flapjack! Kanyon waited as Kash slowly pulled himself up..Kanyon spun Kash around and dropped him with the Flatliner! Kanyon made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Chris Kanyon by pinfall (84/81/87) ----- Destroying Dreamer Mike Sanders led the duo of The Wall and Mike Awesome down to the ring - no Jimmy Hart this week. Apparently Sanders was doing the talking tonight. He began by hyping up his two 'Towers of Terror' - and commenting on the Extreme Championship match at Fall Brawl against Tommy Dreamer. But Sanders explained that Dreamer would be lucky to even make it to Fall Brawl, because tonight Dreamer was going to have to step into the ring with the man who has nearly destroyed him in the ring twice in the past...and that's the other half of the Towers of Terror - Mike Awesome! Dreamer should consider himself lucky if he's even able to walk on his own two feet come Fall Brawl. (74%) ----- Extreme Rules Mike Awesome (w/The Wall & Mike Sanders) vs. Tommy Dreamer Dreamer and Awesome definitely have some great chemistry in the ring together - especially when you put them in a hardcore match. They put on another great match with Dreamer having to contend with not just Awesome in the ring but with Sanders and Wall on the outside. Awesome looked to weaken Dreamer for The Wall's title defense next week, but Dreamer didn't have the same plan. Dreamer fought tooth and nail with Awesome, and had Awesome in the most trouble we've seen him in outside of his match against The Wall at Mayhem. Dreamer worked Awesome over with chairshot after chairshot to wear the big man down. But it wasn't enough to keep Awesome down. At ringside, Sanders pulled out a table and slid it into the ring to a recovered Awesome. Awesome took out Dreamer with a big clothesline. Awesome worked over Dreamer as Wall and Sanders watched approvingly from ringside. Awesome propped up the table in the corner and set Draemer up for an Awesome Bomb, but Dreamer slid down Awesome's back and tossed Awesome head first into the table. Awesome stumbled into a wicked chairshot from Dreamer! Dreamer rolled out of the ring and under the ring he found his barbedwire 2x4! The Wall approached Dreamer, but Dreamer fended him off with a swing of the 2x4! The Wall avoided it, but it was enough to keep him away. Dreamer rolled into the ring and whacked Awesome across the back with the barbedwire end! Dreamer took the cut up Awesome and took him through the table with a DDT! The Wall was on the apron - about to get in but Dreamer struck Wall across the shoulder with the 2x4, breaking it in half! Wall fell off the apron to the floor and Dreamer made the cover on Awesome - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Tommy Dreamer by pinfall (79/68/90) Dreamer celebrated his big win as Mike Sanders checked on The Wall, who looked ready to go back into the ring - but Dreamer was ready as he grabbed his sack of thumbtacks and spilled them in the ring! Sanders didn't let The Wall go into the ring as the crazed Dreamer threw HIMSELF down onto the tacks! Dreamer gave a sadistic grin as he kneeled in the pile of tacks... ----- Booker T's Trust Tree Backstage, Michelle Gold was with the WCW World Champion Booker T. She announced that next week on Nitro - Booker T would be teaming with Scott Steiner to challenge Ric Flair and Curt Hennig for the WCW Tag Team Championship! Michelle asked Booker if he truly trusted Steiner now and what he thought of their tag titles shot. Booker said he never 100% trusts anyone, but after Nitro this week - Steiner certainly took a step in the right direction on Booker T's trust tree. He still has his doubts, but it seems clear to him that Steiner wants the Gentlemen's Club just as bad as he does. Michelle asked if he regretted not putting Steiner on Team Booker for War Games. Booker said he regrets nothing - he thinks he has a great team that will no doubt defeat The Gentlemen's Club at Fall Brawl - there was NO DOUBT about that. Now can you dig THAT....SUCKAAAAA! (92%) ----- Rey Mysterio (w/Torrie) vs. Shawn Stasiak (w/Stacy Keibler) Team Booker took a big singles victory in the build towards War Games on Nitro this week when Scott Hall defeated Mark Jindrak. Tonight, the newest and last member of Team Booker - Rey Mysterio looked to continue to show Team Booker's strengths as he took on Shawn Stasiak. These two of course are no strangers to each other as they met up quite a few times over the summer over the tag titles. After a quick start by Rey which saw him get a few nearfalls on Stasiak and have him in trouble - some interference from Keibler allowed Stasiak to ground Rey and take control. A hangman's neckbreaker from Stasiak scored him a two count on Rey. Stasiak continued in control of the offense, eventually lifting Rey up into a fireman's carry and looking to swing him around into a DDT, but Rey countered it and turned it into a tornado DDT of his own! Rey was up to his feet first and found the speed to fight back against Stasiak. Rey looked to be on his way to victory, especially after hitting the 6-1-9 to Stasiak. Stasiak began to stumble to his feet as Rey began to prepare to hit the West Coast Pop...but Keibler grabbed his leg to prevent him! Torrie ran over and chased off Stacy as Rey springboarded into the ring...but the momentary distraction had allowed Stasiak to recover! He caught Rey off the ropes and threw him across his shoulders and dropped him with the Perfect Plant! Stasiak made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Shawn Stasiak by pinfall (76/74/79) ----- Running Wild A promo for a new WCW saturday night show aired...the show is called WCW Running Wild and the promos say that it is coming soon to the USA Network! ----- Anger Management Techniques In the back, Michelle Gold was with the man who will contend for the United States/Canadian Heavyweight title at Fall Brawl - Sean O'Haire. O'Haire voiced his displeasure with the way the former 'Crowbar' had basically turned his back on him and America to side with Lance Storm who apparently is his cousin. He doesn't really care what their family tree looks like, because O'Haire doesn't take too kindly to being turned on. In fact, it makes him quite...ANGRY. O'Haire's blood began to boil just talking to Michelle about the situation. He then took a few deep breaths and said that his anger management instructor has taught him some breathin exercises...they seem to be working. He's learning to control his anger and release it with control...well he's holding in that anger and plans on letting it all loose onto Lance Storm at Fall Brawl. (80%) ----- Lance Storm & Devon Storm vs. German Chocolate The two newfound cousins teamed together for the first time tonight as they took on the always entertaining German Chocolate duo of Alex Wright and Norman Smiley. But Lance and Devon were certainly not interested in the dancing of Wright or Smiley...they were all business and very serious. After some early offense from Wright and Smiley against Devon - once Lance entered the ring he immediately made short work of Smiley as his expert technical skill overwhelmed Smiley. The two Storm cousins took turns working over Smiley, especially working over his leg to set him up for Lance's Canadian Maple Leaf. Smiley managed to break free and make the hot tag to Wright...and while Wright came in and hit some body slams and clotheslines, Lance put an end to that after a bodyslam to Devon. Alex turned around and was hit with a superkick from Lance! Devon worked over Wright briefly before tagging Lance back in. Lance made short work of Wright and locked in the Canadian Maple Leaf as Devon took out Smiley. Wright quickly tapped out. WINNER - Lance Storm & Devon Storm by submission (80/71/89) ----- Supporting Team Booker "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner made his way down to the ring as the Main Event was about to get underway. But first Steiner took the microphone and explained that this week on Nitro he would be teaming with Booker T to take on Flair and Hennig for the tag titles. He finally was able to convince Booker that he has his back...and now he can start putting his focus on taking out The Gentlemen's Club. He was still bummed that he couldn't be a part of War Games, but that doesn't mean he won't support their effort to defeating the Club and that he would do anything within his power to help Team Booker walk out victorious. But tonight, he said it would be a bit of a sneak preview of things to come on Nitro because he planned to make Curt Hennig his personal bitch. So this goes to all his phreaks out there, Big Poppa Pump is ya hook up - Holla if you hear him! (83%) ----- MAIN EVENT Scott Steiner vs. Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) So not officially a preview of War Games, despite how much Steiner wanted to be on the team - but here he had the chance to help the team out by giving Hennig a loss just a week before the show. Steiner quickly overpowered Hennig and took an early advantage in the match. An advantage that Steiner didn't seem interested in losing as he was dominating Hennig early. However when Steiner went for a belly to belly suplex, Hennig broke free with a headbutt and then raked Steiner's eyes to slow the muscular powerhouse down. Hennig took Steiner to the mat with a swinging knee lift. It looked like Hennig had been taking some pages out of his leader Flair's handbook as he worked over Steiner's knees and even applied a Figure Four leglock...but Steiner did not want to submit and instead muscled his way to the ropes to break up the hold. Hennig got to his feet and continued on the attack, but Steiner began to fight his way to his feet. Suddenly Hennig's offense appeared useless against the recovering Steiner. Hennig attempted a clothesline, but Steiner was unphased and responded with a big Steinerline of his own! Hennig hit the mat and Steiner went on the attack. Steiner hit an Exploder Suplex to Hennig and went for the Steiner Recliner - but Keibler climbed the apron! She distracted Steiner long enough for Hennig to recover and roll up Steiner! Hennig hooked the tights - One, Two, Thre...kickout by Steiner! Both men were back up, but not for long as Steiner hit an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Hennig! Hennig rolled back to his feet but walked right into a military press slam from Steiner! Ric Flair ran down to the ring to help his teammate, but Booker T followed him down and prevented him from interfering! Flair and Booker brawled at ringside as Steiner locked in the Steiner Recliner to Hennig! Mark Armstrong checked on Hennig...and he gave up! WINNER - Scott Steiner by submission (79/86/63) Booker T and Flair's battle continued into the ring where Steiner and Booker fought by side by side to eliminate Flair and Hennig from the ring! Steiner and Booker stood tall together as Flair and Hennig regrouped on the outside. What would the results be like this Tuesday when these two teams meet for the World Tag Titles? Tune in to Nitro to find out! OVERALL - 81% ---------

WCW Tuesday Nitro September 11, 2001 Live from Landon Arena in Topeka, Kansas Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti Welcome to WCW Tuesday Nitro in the land of the free and the home of the brave, where earlier today - an attempted terrorist attack that would've attacked the World Trade Centers in New York was foiled - so there's a heavy dose of patriotism going on tonight! Plus we're now less than one week away from Fall Brawl and the return of the War Games. Big questions still surround who the mystery member of the Gentlemen's Club will be, but tonight we focus on tag team action as Ric Flair and Curt Hennig will defend the tag titles for the first time against bitter rivals turn allies - Booker T and Scott Steiner. Devon Storm (w/Lance Storm) vs. Sean O'Haire For the first time since the big reveal - Sean O'Haire got to step into the ring with a member of the Storm family and it was the man who he had been tagging with as recently as a month ago. O'Haire and Devon are certainly no strangers to one another on opposite sides of the ring either as they had an intense battle in the Extreme Title tournament that ended with both men being incapable of continuing in the match. Of course, this was a different Devon Storm here...like he was on Thunder against Martin - he was much more cold and calculated in the ring, not unlike his cousin Lance. The fact that Lance was at ringside certainly helped his chances in the match as well. But O'Haire was not going to go down without a fight no matter how many people were at ringside. He battled back with his anger against Devon storm, and eventually laid out Storm out with the rolling Fireman's Carry to set him up for the Seanton Bomb! O'Haire climbed to the top, but Lance put a stop to that as he blatantly shoved O'Haire off the top turnbuckle to the mat! Referee Billy Silverman immediately called for the bell! WINNER - Sean O'Haire by disqualification (78/72/85) Storm entered the ring and attacked O'Haire as he attempted to get to his feet...Devon Storm recovered and join in on the attack until Andrew Martin ran down to the ring to make the save! Lance and Devon exited the ring as Martin was sliding in! Martin checked on O'Haire as Lance and Devon watched on from the ramp. ----- The Hottest Commodity in WCW Alicia Webb led her new team of Hot Commodity down to the ring to some light cheers from the crowd. This was actually O'Reilly's first appearance on Nitro since joining the WCW roster. Alicia took the microphone and hyped up the match at Fall Brawl that will put her boys against 3 count as O'Reilly looks to make them look like fools for passing up on him to join their little boy band. Webb said it was for the best, because he's better off without the group anyway. Hot Commodity is the next big thing in the WCW tag division - they're going to be rocking arenas, selling out merchandise and crowds for years to come. But first - they needed to put this 3 Count issue to rest... (66%) ----- Cassidy O'Reilly (w/Alicia Webb & Air Paris) vs. Shannon Moore (w/3 Count) This would be O'Reilly's first chance to show 3-Count what he's really made of. O'Reilly looked more driven in the ring than he did in those 3 Count auditions - and Moore seemed surprised at O'Reilly's offensive outburst at the beginning of the match. Moore immediately went to ringside to regroup with Evan Karagias and Joey Matthews - but O'Reilly took all three men out with a springboard shooting star press plancha into the crowd! O'Reilly pulled Moore back up and sent him into the ring. But Moore rolled to his feet and as O'Reilly re-entered the ring, Moore attacked him. Moore would take control until he went for the Bottom's Up - only to have O'Reilly counter and toss Moore's leg backwards, sending Moore in to a backflip. Moore landed on his feet, but O'Reilly struck him with a spinning heel kick! As O'Reilly was gaining momentum - Karagias and Matthews climbed onto the apron...but when they did, Air Paris entered the ring. O'Reilly got down on all fours as Paris ran in and used his partner as a springboarded to fly through the air with a crossbody onto Karagias and Matthews - sending all three men falling to the floor! With that subduing 3 Count, O'Reilly finished Moore off with a Fisherman's DDT for the three count! WINNER - Cassidy O'Reilly by pinfall (64/36/92)[/u] ----- Juvi's Friends Chavo Guerrero made his way down to the ring with Kronik to boos from the crowd. Once the trio where in the ring, Juventud Guerera walked out onto the stage with a microphone. He did his "FINALLY' imitation before saying that if Chavo could find some big friends, so could he! Out came Dustin Rhodes and Hugh Morrus to back Juvi up and apparently be his partners for a six man tag match! (75%) ----- Chavo Guerrero & Kronik vs. Juventud Guerrera, Hugh Morrus & Dustin Rhodes Rhodes started the match off against Clark, as Kronik finally had to match up with someone more their 'own size' - though they still had a little bit of an advantage in that area - but Morrus and Rhodes were more than up for the challenge. They hung right in there with the bigs of Kronik - while Chavo stood on the apron letting them do all the work. Eventually the team of Clark and Adams began to wear down Rhodes when he was the legal man, and kept him from making the hot tag to Morrus. However, a desperation bulldog from Rhodes left the door open for him to make the tag...but as he crawled to make the tag to Morrus - Adams ran in and hit a big boot to Morrus, sending him off the apron! Adams left the ring and it left Juvi as the only one available to make the tag. Juvi was tagged in, and springboarded with a dropkick to recovering Clark that took him down! But as Juvi tried to keep up a fast pace to stay on the recovering Clark, clark caught him off the ropes and delivered a big sidewalk slam to Juvi! Adams and Clark worked over Juvi until finally Chavo wanted to be tagged in with Juvi down! The cocky Chavo shoved Juvi back to the mat with his boot before making a showboat style pin - but Juvi got his shoulder up. Chavo slowly pulled Juvi up and went for a brainbuster...but Juvi slid down Chavo's back and rolled him up out of nowhere - One, Two, Three! It happened so fast Kronik couldn't catch it in time! WINNERS - Juventud Guerrera, Hugh Morrus & Dustin Rhodes by pinfall (73/71/75) Morrus and Rhodes quickly entered the ring to have Juvi's back against any revenge attacks from Kronik. At ringside, Chavo scolded Kronik for not making the save. ----- WCW Running Wild Coming soon to the USA Network's Saturday nights....WCW Running Wild! Promos say the show will start in October! ----- Non-Title Match The Wall (w/Mike Sanders) vs. Jerry Lynn After Tommy Dreamer pulled off the big upset of Mike Awesome on Thunder - Mike Sanders was looking to take some frustration out..not on Dreamer though, but instead on Dreamer's pal Jerry Lynn. Lynn stared up at The Wall, knowing he had a tough challenge tonight, but met it head on as he tried to use his speed to his advantage. But everything Lynn threw at the Extreme Champion seemed to have any affect on Wall. Wall finally took Lynn out with a short arm clothesline and dominated him from this point on. He showed off his power with a military press slam and then almost took of Lynn's head with a Big Boot. Ultimately Wall finished Lynn off with the Chokeslam for the three count. WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (74/66/83) Impressive demonstration by The Wall tonight - would this be what was in store for Dreamer at Fall Brawl? ----- Rey Mysterio & Sting vs. Mark Jindrak & Shawn Stasiak (w/Stacy Keibler) Another preview of things to come for War Games as Team Booker's Rey Mysterio and Sting teamed up for the first time to take on Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak. Has anyone asked Billy Kidman how he felt about Rey being included and not him? Just a thought. In any event, Mysterio and Sting looked impressive together as a team, as Rey looked to show he belonged with Sting in the ring. They worked well together against the Gentlemen's Club duo here...especially early on as Jindrak and Stasiak didn't quite no how to handle the offensive combination that they could throw at them. They finally managed to subdue Rey and ground the high flying star and this is exactly what their gameplan had to be...keep Sting out of the ring and focus on Rey. Stasiak and Jindrak switched in and out, working over Rey and doing just that. After a combo vertical suplex from Stasiak and dropkick from Jindrak - Jindrak went for the pin - but Sting was there to break up the cover. Referee Nick Patrick got on Sting's case - allowing Jindrak and Stasiak to double team Rey some more. But when Jindrak went for the Mark of Excellence to Rey, Rey turned it into a DDT that left both men down! The race was on and the tags were made at the same time. Clothesline all around from Sting followed by atomic drops for both Jindrak and Stasiak! Then Stasiak got a one handed bulldog and so did Jindrak! Sting sent both of them into the corner...DOUBLE STINGER SPLASH! Stinger than got down on all fours as Rey charged in using Sting as a springboard to hit springboard calf kick to both men in the corner! Rey then took Jindrak out of the ring with a headscissors as Sting dropped Stasiak with the Scorpion Death Drop! Sting made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - Sting & Rey Mysterio by pinfall (76/76/77) Sting and Rey celebrated in the ring together after the match as Jindrak and Stasiak regrouped with Stacy. She was clearly dissatisfied with both of them as they watched Sting and Rey celebrate in the ring. More momentum for Team Booker heading into Fall Brawl! ----- It All Ends Sunday? Backstage, Scott Hudon was standing by with Sting and Rey Mysterio - who were both, Sting especially, still jubilant after their win over The Gentlemen's Club. Sting WOOO'd into the microphone and said that was how you get it done in WCW. He said that this 'war' is just about over with...The Gentlemen's Club is reeling! They've lost their ace in the hole in Goldberg and they are running scared! Sting promised at Fall Brawl in War Games...it was time to put a dagger right through their heart! Sting promised it would ALL be over this Sunday! (84%) ----- Chris Kanyon vs. Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli (w/Kimberly Page) Kim was still sporting the neckbrace nearly a month after her Diamond Cutter from Diamond Dallas Page. This Sunday those two will meet in a Chain Match that promises to be a brutal match. But tonight, Stamboli was taking on Page's close friend Kanyon...who has had some issues of his own recently with Ted DiBiase and Chuck Palumbo. Kanyon was better prepared for this match than he was last time he faced off against Stamboli in his first match back from injury, and he took it straight to Stamboli - clearly wanting to stick up for Page and also send a message to Chuck Palumbo. But a distraction from Kim left the door open for Stamboli to take control. But ultimately, it looked like Stamboli wasn't interested in winning the match at all. After a swinging neckbreaker, Stamboli asked for his chain! Kim tossed it in to him and he wrapped it around his forearm. He shoved referee Charles Robinson aside and delivered a lariat with the chain to Kanyon! Robinson called for the bell. WINNER - Chris Kanyon by disqualification (76/77/77) Stamboli wasn't done yet - he was looking to send a message of his own to Page to show him what was going to happen this Sunday. Stamboli wrapped the chain around Kanyon's throat and began choking him violently. Out came Diamond Dallas Page but Kimberly immediately jumped on the microphone and reminded Page he couldn't come any closer because of the restraining order! Page was forced to watch as Stamboli continued to beat on Kanyon with the chain! Page called for help from the back, finally rushing to the back and getting what WCW officials and security he could find. They went down to the ring for him and pulled Stamboli off of Kanyon. But the damage had been done, Stamboli stood tall with Kimberly by his side as Page watched with disgust. ----- MAIN EVENT - WCW Tag Team Championship Match Ric Flair & Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) (c) vs. Booker T & Scott Steiner Not many people thought they would ever see Booker T teaming with Scott Steiner to challenge for the WCW Tag Titles, but here they were doing just that. Booker still seemed a little hesitant to have Steiner in his corner, but the two appeared to be on good terms as the match got under way. Booker T started the match out against Hennig and immediately had the upperhand. Booker T worked over Hennig, eventually bringing Steiner into the match. Steiner overpowered Hennig as well, dropping some elbows to him and going for the pin - but Flair quickly broke it up. A eye rake to Steiner slowed him down and Hennig brought in Flair who immediately chopped away at Steiner's chest and then targeted his knees. Steiner battled right back against Flair however, and took him down with a back suplex. Steiner tagged Booker T in and together they hit a tandem hiptoss to Flair. Booker T continued on the offensive as the legal man - picking up a couple near falls over Flair. But as Hennig entered the ring and brought the attention of referee Nick Patrick - Flair scored an uppercut to Booker T's manhood! Steiner entered the ring to protest, sending Patrick from Hennig to Steiner and allowing Hennig and Flair to double team Booker! Steiner relucantly left the ring as Hennig too climbed to the outside. Flair now took firm control over the WCW Champion. Flair worked over Booker's leg with the intentions of weakening him for the Figure Four while Steiner was busy rallying the crowd behind Booker T to inspire a comeback. As Flair was pulling Booker up to his feet, Booker surprised Flair with a jawbreaker! Booker gave Flair a kick to the midsection and scored with the Scissors Kick! SPINAROONIE! Booker made the tag to Steiner! Steinerline to Flair! Steinerline to Hennig! Belly-to-belly suplex to Flair! Belly-to-Belly Suplex to Hennig! Hennig rolled out of the ring - leaving Flair all to Steiner! Steiner kept in control before laying Flair out with an Exploder Suplex! Steiner locked in the Steiner Recliner to Flair! Tenay said this was it, we were going to crown new tag team champions! But that was before Hennig slid back into the ring and clocked Steiner from behind with one of the tag titles! Nick Patrick called for the bell! WINNERS - Booker T & Scott Steiner by disqualification (84/90/72) Booker T entered the ring and stopped Hennig from any further attacks - lighting up Hennig with some chops and then hitting him with the Harlem Sidekick! Hennig hit the mat and rolled out of the ring as Flair too crawled to the outside. Flair and Hennig took their tag titles and headed up the aisle as Booker T kneeled down and began helping Steiner to his feet. It looked like the show was coming to a close as Mike Tenay did some more promoting of Fall Brawl, reminding us to tune into Thunder and then Fall Brawl...but suddenly we cut to the back! The camera raced around backstage where we found Sting bloodied and laid out backstage with a lead pipe next to him! Medics were getting to the scene as Sting was completely motionless! The attacker had struck again and this time had targeted Sting! Immediately Tenay wondered about the implications for War Games...would Sting be able to compete? Meanwhile, in the ring - Booker turned his attention to Steiner - implying he had something to do with this. You could hear Steiner saying it couldn't have been him, he was in the ring this whole time with Booker! Tenay and Gilberti questioned just what was going on as the show came to a close! (89%) OVERALL - 77% ---------

Damn the curse of War Games. You've done a great job with this Dubb. I think out of all the PPV's you have done, the build for War Games has been the best so far, and that is saying something. |

WCW Thursday Thunder September 13, 2001 From the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita, KS Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest 'The Cat' Miller The recap of Nitro focused on the WCW Tag Title match from Nitro as Flair and Hennig retained the titles over Booker T and Scott Steiner after they got themselves disqualified - but then as the show came to a close, Sting was found beaten in the same fashion as Shane Helms and Goldberg previously. What does this mean for War Games?! Don callis and The Cat welcomed us to the last show before Fall Brawl...and what an event that was going to be. All eyes are on War Games as it quickly approaches... And speaking of approaching - the WCW Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan approached the ring right off the bat this week on Thunder. Hogan received a big pop as he walked down to the ring in his suit. Hogan took the microphone and address War Games right off the bat. It sickened him that someone was out there trying to ruin the return of this legendary match - but no matter how hard they try to ruin it - they were not going to succeed. The match would still go on! Hogan gave us a refresher on the rules to War Games. Two men start out, then alternating team members enter the ring until all ten men are in the cage. The match continued until someone was made be made submit, surrender, or be knocked unconscious. Usually the man advantage is determined by a 'coin-toss' - but Hogan had a better idea. Tonight, in order to determine which team would get the man advantage during the War Games - a member from each team would face off in a singles match with the winner gaining the man advantage for the team. And the two competitors would be...from the Gentlemen's Club - Ric Flair! And from Team Booker - Scott Hall! (93%) ----- 3 Count & Chavo Guerrero (w/Kronik) vs. Mexico's Most Wanted & Hot Commodity (w/Alicia Webb) With four high flying cruiserweights in the ring and Kronik and Alicia at ringside - this match was bound to get out of control...referee Billy Silverman was certainly going to have his hands full. The match started out innocently enough with Air Paris against Joey Matthews. Paris took the early advantage against Matthews and brought in Psicosis. Both teams went back and forth throughout the match with things starting to get out of control later. Evan Karagias and Shannon Moore were regrouping at ringside, only to have Cassidy O'Reilly come out onto them with a springboard somersault plancha! Both men were down, but in the ring Joey Matthews hit a hangman's neckbreaker to Air Paris! Matthews went for the pin, but Psicosis broke it up with a Guillotine Legdrop! But when Psicosis got to his feet, he was met with a boot to the midsection from Chavo who then laid him out with a brainbuster. Chavo went up top for the Frog Splash, but Juvi rolled his partner out of the way and Chavo hit the mat hard. With all the chaos going on, Silverman was losing control. He tried to break up the battle at ringside which had escilated to include both members of Hot Commodity, Shannon Moore, and Evan Karagias. In the ring, lifted up Chavo and delivered the JuviDriver! He then tried to finish him off with the Juicy elbow, but he was hit with a big boot from Brian Adams! With Silverman still focusing on retaining order at ringside...Kronik pulled Juvi up and delivered the HIGH TIMES! Kronik left the ring as Silverman climbed back in. Chavo rolled over and made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - Chavo Guerrero & 3 Count by pinfall via interference (75/65/85) Chavo lifted the Cruiserweight Title up in victory over the fallen Juvi as Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke stood on either side of the Cruiserweight Champion. 3 Count and Hot Commodity were seperated by WCW officials, but both teams continued to star each other down as we headed to break. ----- The End of Tommy Dreamer Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with Mike Sanders who was alongside The Wall. Sanders did the talking as usual for the WCW Extreme Champion. Sanders hyped up the title match at Fall Brawl that will put Tommy Dreamer up against his monster. Sanders said Dreamer was lucky to still have a career after doing battle with Mike Awesome - but he won't be so fortunate after this Sunday. Sanders told us all to tune in to Fall Brawl to witness the END of Tommy Dreamer! (81%) ----- Extreme Rules Match Tommy Dreamer vs. Kash In a warm up match for Dreamer, he took on another experience extremist in Kash - who was certainly going to make sure that his 'warm up' match was no walk in the park. Kash came to battle, and took the offense to the veteran of extreme. They brawled back and forth in the ring and out of the ring, with chairs being used extensively - especially when Kash literally THREW a chair right into Dreamer's face. Kash went for the MoneyMaker onto the chair, but Dreamer reversed it with a backdrop. Dreamer then took out Kash with a sick chairshot before climbing to ringside and sliding a table into the ring followed by his barbedwire 2x4! Dreamer set the table up and then cracked the 2x4 across the recovering Kash's back! Dreamer finished Kash off with the DreamerDriver for the 3 count! WINNER - Tommy Dreamer by pinfall (78/77/79) After the match, Dreamer went to ringside and brought a bottle of lighter fluid and a pack of matches out from under the ring! Dreamer climbed back into the ring and poured lighter fluid on the table he set up and tossed a match on the table! The table went up in flames as Callis and The Cat were freaking out at the announce both. The crowd went crazy as Dreamer pointed to Kash and then to the table...but WCW officials came running down to the ring to put a stop to anything before it could happen! A disappointed Dreamer watched as the put out his table fire with a fire extinguisher...but if anything it showed that this Sunday's match with The Wall could get brutal. ----- Completely Serious Backstage, Michelle Gold was with Lance Storm and Devon Storm to discuss their upcoming match against Sean O'Haire and Andrew Martin. Lance Storm was disgusted that he apparently hadn't taught Andrew Martin his lesson yet about what a disgrace he is to Canada. He said it was unfortuante that people like Martin destroy their Canadian legacy while people like his cousin Devon were born in America but desire so strongly to be a part of that Canadian legacy. But he assures us that Devon Storm was much more of a proud 'Canadian' than Andrew Martin would ever be. And as for Sean O'Haire, he's just biding his time until Lance Storm makes him submit like the pathetic American he is at Fall Brawl. The True Champion of Canada will continue to dominate his lesser opponents. And he's completely serious. (79%) ----- Lance Storm & Devon Storm vs. Andrew Martin & Sean O'Haire The current challenger for the US/Canadian Heavyweight Title and the most recent challenger team up to take on their common enemies - Lance and Devon Storm. Martin and O'Haire had to make some adjustments to get used to teaming with each other, which allowed Lance and Devon to take control early. Martin became the one they focused on most of the match as O'Haire struggled to get into the ring, which obviously was frustrating the hotheaded O'Haire. Everytime Martin was about to make the tag, one of the Storms would cut him off just as he was about to slap O'Haire arm. O'Haire slammed the turnbuckle in frustration, and when he saw a double team happening with Lance and Devon - he tried to enter the ring - but was cut off by referee Charles Robinson. O'Haire was having trouble containing his cool, but returned to the apron as Lance Storm continued to work over Martin. After Martin battled back against Devon Storm and took him to the mat with a tiltawhirl slam - Martin was able to make the tag to O'Haire just as Devon was making the tag to Lance. Lance entered the ring, but as he saw the wildeyed O'Haire entering the ring and charging, Lance quickly ducked to ringside! Lance and Devon wanted nothing to do with the angered O'Haire...and looked like they were going to take the countout...but O'Haire chased them to ringside! O'Haire decked Devon Storm and sent Lance back into the ring. O'Haire climbed back in and when on the attack to Lance. After laying out Storm with the rolling Fireman's Carry - Sean O'Haire went to the top turnbuckle...but Andrew Martin shoved him off the top rope! His own partner entered the ring, and laid out O'Haire with the Big Boot! Lance Storm was confused as Martin left the ring to boos from the crowd. Lance Storm took advantage, making the cover on O'Haire - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - Lance Storm & Devon Storm by pinfall (80/73/87) Lance and Devon Storm celebrated their victory after the match as Callis and the Cat wondered what that was all about... ----- Ready If Needed In the locker room, Booker T was approached by Scott Steiner about this Sunday. Steiner wanted to know if there was any update on Sting's condition. Booker T said he hadn't heard anything, and didn't know if Sting was going to be able to compete Sunday or not. Steiner said that if Sting was unable to compete, Steiner was going to be ready as a sub. Booker T asked Steiner how he knows he had nothing to do with this. He had made it clear he still wanted a spot on Team Booker even after Rey Mysterio had been added as the final member. Steiner reminded Booker that he was in the ring with him when it happened. He's no magician. Steiner reaffirmed that he has Booker's back. Steiner said whatever happens with Sting...Steiner's ready for action Sunday if Booker needs him. (94%) ------ Nowhere to Run Elsewhere in the back, Michelle Gold was standing by with Diamond Dallas Page as he prepared for his match tonight as well as Fall Brawl's Chain Match against Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli. Page said that he was so sick and tired of Stamboli and Kim...they have thrown every obstacle in his way...they've arrested him, they've filed restraining orders against him...but all the legal power in the world wasn't going to stop Page from ripping Stamboli apart this Sunday. Stamboli thinks he has the advantage because he carries around a chain and this is a chain match? A chain match means they would be tied together on either end of the chain...that means there would be NOWHERE for Stamboli to run and nowhere to hide from feeling the....BANG! (81%) ----- Diamond Dallas Page vs. Chuck Palumbo (w/Ted DiBiase) After having to watch his friend Chris Kanyon be beaten by Johnny Stamboli on Nitro, Page gets to try to do his friend a favor by taking on his opponent for Fall Brawl - Chuck Palumbo. Both men were all business in the ring, as they started the match off with a lock up that Page quickly took advantage of, but Palumbo fought back. Palumbo took Page to the mat with a shoulderblock and began stomping Page's back. DiBiase watched on, nodding his head in approval as Palumbo controled the offense against Page. But Page was always known to be a fighter, and he fought his way right back into the match against the Million Dollar Man's 'Bounty Hunter.' Page hit rights and lefts before taking out Palumbo with a discus clothesline. Page made the cover, but only got a two count. After an inverted atomic drop, Page hit an inverted backbreaker to Palumbo - but once again only picked up a two count. Page continued on the attack, eventually hitting Palumbo with a jumping DDT. Palumbo called for the Diamond Cutter - but Johnny Stamboli slid into the ring and attacked Page from behind, drawing the DQ! WINNER - Diamond Dallas Page by disqualification (70/73/67) Stamboli put the boots to Page as Palumbo began to join in on the attack. Their double team would not last long however, as Chris Kanyon rushed down to the ring with a steel chair in hand! He chased off Palumbo and Stamboli with the chair, and stood over Page with the chair, successfully fending off the heels. Kanyon helped Page to his feet as the show headed to break. ----- One More For The Good Guys Scott Hall made his way down to the ring to a good face reaction from the crowd. He tossed his toothpick at the camera as he walked down the aisle and climbed into the ring. Hall took the microphone and greeted the welcoming crowd to a "Hey Yo!" Hall talked about War Games and how he was going to win the man advantage tonight for Team Booker. But what he really wanted to do before his match against Flair was to take a pole of the crowd. How many people came here tonight to see Scott Hall and The Outsiders - good pop from the crowd....and how many people came to see The Gentlemen's Club - nothing but boos. Well, looks like that's one more for the good guys. (80%) ----- MAIN EVENT Scott Hall vs. Ric Flair A lot was on the line in this main event as the winner would give his team the man advantage in the War Games match. Flair and Hall went right at each other from the opening bell, both men wanting to win that advantage for their team. After early offense from Hall that had Flair reeling, Flair battled back with a chopblock to Hall to bring him down to the mat. As soon as Flair found himself in control of the offense, he began targeting Hall's leg. Flair sent Hall into the corner and chopped away at his chest before snapmaring him to the mat. Flair slammed Hall's knee repeatedly into the canvas before Flair headed up to the top turnbuckle. As you might expect, Flair would be unable to hit the move as Hall got to his feet and tossed Flair off the top turnbuckle to the mat. Flair stumbles to his feet and swung a right at Hall, but Hall ducked and hit a back suplex to Flair! Hall made the cover - One, Two, kickout! Hall didn't let up after the nearfall, and continued on the attack - eventually hitting his Fallaway Slam to Flair! Hall signaled for the Outsider's Edge! Hall picked up Flair and set him up, but out came Curt Hennig! Hennig climbed the apron only to have Kevin Nash come down to ringside and pull him down! Nash and Hennig began to brawl at ringside as Hall turned back around right into a chop from Flair! Flair took advantage of the surprised Hall and hit a shinbreaker to Hall. Flair locked in the Figure Four to Hall! As Nash and Hennig continued to battle on the outside...Hall struggled against the Figure Four in the ring...and finally tapped out! WINNER - Ric Flair by submission (86/95/68) As Nash was getting the upperhand on Hennig - Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak came out and jumped Nash from behind! They sent Nash into the ring and it was 4 on 2...until Booker T and Rey Mysterio rushed down to the ring! It was four on four as all 8 men were going at it to end the show! OVERALL - 81% -----
