WCW Thursday Thunder October 11, 2001 From the Scope in Norfolk, Virginia Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest 'The Cat' Miller Non-Title Match Billy Kidman (w/Torrie) vs. Chavo Guerrero (w/KroniK) After getting a taste of his own medicine on Nitro when Hulk Hogan made him wrestle Scott Steiner, one-on-one - Chavo got a more suitable challenge tonight in the form of his opponent's tag partner, Billy Kidman. This was a tune up for Chavo as he prepared to take on Rey Mysterio this Sunday at Halloween Havoc. Kidman and Chavo went back and forth in an great little contest, but ultimately it served the purpose of making Chavo look stronger heading into the PPV. Chavo finished off Kidman with the brainbuster followed by the Frog Splash to get the victory! WINNER - Chavo Guerrero by pinfall (84/77/91) Chavo left the ring with KroniK - satisfied with his victory. Later tonight, KroniK would be in tag team action later against the new-coming tag team - The Tennessee Outlaws. ----- Take Shelter Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with The Storm Foundation. She spoke with their leader Lance Storm about their upcoming matches at Halloween Havoc. Storm said the Storm Warning for WCW is as severe as ever. He said that after Halloween Havoc, not only will he still be the 'Canadian Heavyweight' Champion, but he will be in line for a shot at the WCW World Title while The Storm Foundation will be in line for a WCW Tag Team Title shot! Storm said he had already won the World Title once, and he would be doing it again at World War III. Storm said and then, when Storm is declared the World Champion - we will have no one to blame...not him, not Canada - only ourselves as he sits on top of the WCW as the Perfect Storm! He warned WCW to take shelter now, because this is only the beginning of what the Storm Foundation will do to WCW. (84%) ----- "Sugar" Shane Helms & Tommy Dreamer vs. The Towers of Terror (w/Mike Sanders)[/u] Helms teamed up with the man who has been helping him prepare for the uphill challenge at Halloween Havoc where he will face off against the Extreme Champion - The Wall. Wall and Awesome were as dominant as ever tonight - though Helms and Dreamer put up a solid fight against them, especially when Awesome was in the ring. They weren't quite as lucky when the Wall was in the ring, as he still has yet to really be challenged in the ring. In the end, Helms would get himself disqualified when he decided to show off his new extreme attitude as he brought in Dreamer's barbedwire 2x4 and cracked it across The Wall's back! Dreamer joined in the fun, taking out Awesome with some singapore cane shots followed by a DDT! Shane Helms used the opportunity to hit the Nightmare on Helms Street to The Wall! Wall and Awesome rolled out of the ring where Mike Sanders regrouped his beasts - but in the ring - the extreme team of Helms and Dreamer stood tall despite their DQ loss! WINNERS - Towers of Terror by disqualification (74/73/76) ----- More Prepared "Dance with 3 Count" played to bring out everyone's least favorite boy band - 3 Count. Moore led them to the ring and they weren't even going to grace us with a performance tonight. Moore provided the excuse for Karagias' loss to the returning Tank Abbott on Nitro - saying that they were unprepared for facing someone like Abbott - you can't just drop a surprise like that in on someone and expect them to succeed. But TONIGHT, things will be different. Moore said things will also be different at Halloween Havoc! Tonight, Moore had the duty of stepping into the ring with their former fan and he promised to send the Tank down for the 3 Count! (69%) ----- Tank Abbott (w/Hot Commodity) vs. Shannon Moore (w/3 Count) Would Shannon Moore fair any better against Tank Abbott than Karagias did now that they know their opponent and have had time to prepare? Well, Moore certainly tried to put up a fight against Tank - but Tank mostly treated Moore as an annoying little gnat. Abbott mostly just stood around and let Moore try out his offense, before growing tired of playing games and simply knocked out Moore with one punch! Abbott made the nonchalant cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Tank Abbott by pinfall (66/67/67) Evan Karagias and Joey Matthews entered the ring and mauled Abbott from behind - but Air Paris and Cassidy O'Reilly were there to chase them off! Hot Commodity stood tall with Tank Abbott once again as 3 Count tucked their tails between their legs and ran! Would this be a similar scene at Halloween Havoc? ----- Practice Makes Perfect In a pre-recorded vignette - we see The Gentlemen's Club preparing for Halloween Havoc. It's mostly Ric Flair practicing his 'referee' skills as he prepared to be the referee for the Sting/Booker T match World Title match. Flair keeps thinking certain moves like low blows and using the brass knuckles are completely legal - but Sting reminded him that they didn't call him the dirtiest player in the game because he followed the rules the match. Flair realized the error of his logic as Sting assured us that with Flair as his ref - there's no way he was going to lose. Booker T's days were numbered as the WCW champion. (99%) ----- Rey Mysterio vs. Kash It was Rey Mysterio's turn for a warm up for Sunday. With Chavo picking up the win earlier, Rey wanted to match pace with him by getting a victory over Kash - while Kash knew a win over Rey heading into Rey's title match would certainly help his contention within the division. Kash and Rey put on an excellent match that went back and forth for several minutes before Rey started to assert himself as the dominant cruiserweight. Kash's efforts to send Rey into a loss heading into his title match would end up being for naught as Rey hit him with the 6-1-9 followed by the West Coast Pop to get the pinfall victory. WINNER - Rey Mysterio by pinfall (86/79/93) ----- More BANG for your Buck Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with Diamond Dallas Page to geth is thoughts on his match with Lance Storm at Halloween Havoc. Page gave us a math lesson about what has happened recently between he and Storm. Last week on thunder...BANG! Diamond Cutter. Page got the 3 count. This week on Nitro? BANG! Diamond Cutter....Storm went down for the count again. Page said this Sunday, Storm will be the lucky recipiant of Diamodn Cutter number 3 to complete the hattrick. Then Page would be on to win the WCW Title so he can be a FOUR TIME, FOUR TIME, FOUR TIME, FOUR TIME..WCW WORLD CHAMPION! (83%) ----- The Tennessee Outlaws (w/Trinity) vs. KroniK (w/Chavo Guerrero) These two teams will meet as part of the tag challenge at Halloween Havoc, but tonight they got to test the waters with each other in tag action. "Wildcat" Chris Harris and "Cowboy" James Wolfe continue to be quite impressive and their chemistry together really adds to the quality of the match - the fact that they were able to mesh together with KroniK for an actually very good match says a lot about what this tag team is goign to be capable of in the WCW. They held their own against the powerhouse team of KroniK - something a lot of teams can't say. Chavo tried to help out his bodyguards - but Trinity pulled Chavo down from the apron! Chavo didn't want to hit a lady, but Trinity didn't mind hitting Chavo as she took him to the ground with an enziguri! Back in the ring, The Outlaws had the upperhand on Brian Adams until Andrew Martin and Devon Storm rushed the ring! Devon Storm attacked James Wolfe while Martin attacked Brian Adams. Clark and Harris joined in as Juventud and Psicosis rushed down to the ring and suddenly we had all four teams going at it in the ring! The match was thrown out as all four tems brawled. WINNER - Draw (76/68/85) WCW officials flooded the ring to seperate the four teams. All four teams want this title shot bad...so it'll be interesting to see who walks out of Halloween Havoc as the victor! ----- Can You Dig It? Backstage, WCW World Champion Booker T was with Michelle Gold as he was preparing to exit the arena for the night. Booker T said he knew he was going to be at a huge disadvantage at Halloween Havoc with Flair there as the referee. But he's used to having his back against the wall - he said he knows The Gentlemen's Club is going to throw whatever they can at him - and he's ready for it. He goes into every match gun's blazin and knowing if he doesn't win he's going down fighting. But he promised that at the end of the day it didn't matter who the referee was...Nick Patrick, Charles Robinson, Ric Flair, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Eric Bischoff, Vince Russo, or if they want to get a time machine and bring back Andre The Giant...in the end he'll have Sting laid out long enough for ANYONE to count to three! Now can you dig THAT....SUCKA?!?! (87%) ----- MAIN EVENT - Handicap Match The Outsiders & Scott Steiner vs. The Gentlemen's Club (Ric Flair, Curt Hennig, Shawn Stasiak, & Mark Jindrak) In a preview to not just the WCW Tag Championship match at Halloween Havoc but also to Steiner's handicap match - we have another type of handicap match with just the numbers being greater. It was 4-on-3 here...which meant a tough challenge for Hall, Nash, and Steiner - but no surprise - they were up for the challenge. They faired well early as they just took it one at a time, taking on each member of the Gentlemen's Club as they came. But eventually Scott Hall found himself in trouble as he got too deep into Gentlemen's Club territory and found himself in a 4-on-1 beatdown as Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash tried to intervene, but were actually just distracting referee Nick Patrick longer. Patrick eventually turned his attention back to the match at hand and forced everyone out - but the damage had been done and Hall became the face in peril as all four members rotated in and out to work over Hall. Hall would eventually stagger to his feet after the beating, and almost drunkingly was throwing around wild punches at no one in particular before falling back to the mat. The Club had a good laugh as Steiner and Nash were itching to get into the ring. The crowd got behind Hall and he managed to fight his way out of a sleeperhold from Hennig and finally made the hot tag to Nash! In came Nash with big boots and clothesline all around for The Gentlemen's Club. Mark Jindrak got scooped up and hit with the Snake Eyes while Stasiak was hit with a sideslam. The straps were coming down for the Jackknife when Flair attacked Nash from behind with a chopblock! But in came Steiner! Steiner took out Flair with a Steinerline and then hit an Exploder Suplex to Hennig! But Steiner wasn't the legal man! Nick Patrick attended to Steiner to get him out of the ring as Keibler tossed in some brass knuckles to Ric Flair! Flair slipped them on and KO'd Nash with them! Flair made the cover as the rest of the club held off Steiner and Hall - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - The Gentlemen's Club by pinfall (78/83/67) The Gentlemen's Club used their 4 on 3 advantage to clear the ring of Steiner and The Outsiders and were standing tall to end the show. Don Callis and The Cat hyped up Halloween Havoc this Sunday, but also reminded us to to tune in to Running Wild this Saturday for a full preview of the action! OVERALL - 80% |

WCW Running Wild October 13, 2001 From the Scope in Norfolk, Virginia Announcers: Scott Hudson & Michelle Gold Jamie Noble defeated Kaz Hayashi by submission Much like last week in the debut of Running Wild, we opened this week with an excellent cruiserweight match between two talented lower-card cruiserweights in Noble and Hayashi. Despite Noble [not being used too much besides being an enhancement talent to the top cruiserweights such as Juvi, Chavo, and Rey - Noble really has started to catch on with the fans with his redneck gimmick. Noble would eventually make Hayashi tap out to the Hog Tie to win the hard fought contest. (84/69/100) ----- Getting Extreme As Scott Hudson and Michelle Gold hyped up tomorrow night's Halloween Havoc - we got a video recap from Nitro and Thunder that highlighted the upcoming Wall vs. Shane Helms match at Halloween Havoc. Helms was actually holding his own against former Extreme Champion Mike Awesome in an Extreme Rules match, but The Wall showed up and a chokeslam through the table curtousey of The Wall made sure that Awesome walked out victorious. On Thunder, when Helms teamed with the man who was preparing him for Havoc - Tommy Dreamer - Helms showed his Extreme side as he got his team DQ'd when he made use of Dreamer's barbedwire 2x4. Helms seems to be in the right mindset for Halloween Havoc...but can he pull off a big David vs. Goliath upset of The Wall this Sunday? (80%) ----- Chuck Palumbo over Afa Jr. by pinfall WCW apparently plans to use Running Wild as a way to also give tryouts to some free agents out there. Tonight's tryout went to a second generation superstar in Afa Jr, son of none other than Afa the Wild Samoan. Afa Jr. was not portraying any sort of Wild Samoan tonight as he was just your generic babyface up against the heel Palumbo. Palumbo continued to show his recent vicious streak as he dominated action against Afa and put him away with the Jungle Kick for the pinfall victory. (60/47/73) ----- Championship Struggles Hudson and Gold discussed the WCW World Tag Team Championship match at Halloween Havoc that will see The Outsiders making their first title defense against the team they defeated - Ric Flair and Curt Hennig of the Gentlemen's Club. We see a recap of the first meeting between the two teams a few weeks ago on Nitro where The Outsiders came out on top. We then skip ahead to this week on Nitro where Nash and Hall poked fun of their opponent's age and personality which led to a brawl between the two teams. Then skipping ahead to Thunder we saw The Gentlemen's Club pick up a handicapped win as Flair, Hennig, Stasiak, and Jindrak got the victory over The Outsiders and Scott Steiner. The Gentlemen's Club were certainly hoping that victory would be a sign of things to come as they head into Halloween Havoc. (91%) ----- Sean O'Haire over "The Franchise" Shane Douglas by pinfall In tonight's 'main event' - O'Haire and Douglas met up in a bit of a slow brawl that saw both men trading the advantage as the match spilled to the outside. Douglas would control a good portion of the match after it went to the outside, as he found some underhanded tactics to give him that advantage. But back in the ring, O'Haire began to 'lose his cool' as a result of Douglas' constant cheating - and suddenly O'Haire was alive with a fiery rage. O'Haire would end up hitting the rolling Fireman's Carry before hitting the Seanton Bomb to pick up the big victory! (74/75/72) ------ The Final Build As we were closing out the show, Hudson and Gold hyped up the full card for Halloween Havoc. They then discussed the two big matches between Diamond Dallas Page and Lance Storm as well as, of course, the World Title match between Booker T and Sting. A video package aired that hyped up the past two weeks for all four of these men whose fates have been intertwined since that Title vs. Title cage match that ended in such controversy. After thinking he was the new champion, Lance Storm has had to settle for a number one contenders opportunity against DDP at Halloween Havoc. Meanwhile, Sting is hoping to swing the momentum back into the Gentlemen's Club's favor by brining the WCW Championship back to the Club by defeating Booker T. But Booker T will certainly have a thing or two to say about that! Tune in this Sunday to Halloween Havoc! Check with your cable or satellite company to make the purchase! WCW Halloween Havoc October 14, 2001 LIVE From the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. Announcers: Mike Tenay, Don Callis, and Glenn Gilberti Mike Tenay welcomed us and thanked us for joining them tonight for what should be a night of epic confrontations, all headlined by the legendary matchup of Booker T defending the WCW Championship against "The Icon" Sting. Also tonight the WCW Extreme, Cruiserweight, and Tag Championships would all be on the line as well as the Unites States title which will also be a number one contender's match as either Diamond Dallas Page or Lance Storm will go on to face the winner of Booker T and Sting at World War III for the WCW Championship! Hot Commodity & Tank Abbott (w/Alicia Webb) vs. 3 Count Kicking off the night's action was some 6-man tag team action as Hot Commodity found their 'ace in the hole' in 3-Count's 'biggest fan' Tank Abbott. 3 Count's strategy was clear in this one - keep Tank Abbott out of the ring at all costs. They seemed to have the strategy down as Abbott found himself unable to get any legal time in the ring, much to his own dismay. Or was it? He didn't seem to be in any kind of rush to get into the ring - even when his teammates Cassidy O'Reilly and Air Paris were in trouble! A worried Alicia watched on from ringside and tried to give Abbott an earful to get him to at least WANT to be tagged in - but Abbott just sat there on the apron watching the match before him. Even with the suddenly 3-on-2 disadvantage for Hot Commodity - they held their own against 3 Count. In fact, they looked like they would even still walk out with the victory after hitting the Hot Shot to Joey Matthews! But suddenly in came Abbott, who finally was ready to get some in ring action...but as Moore and Karagias entered the ring to even the odds...Abbott laid out Air Paris with his right hand knockout punch! A surprised O'reilly also received the knock out punch! A delighted Karagias and Moore quickly took advantage as Moore made the cover on Paris - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - 3 Count by pinfall (67/59/76) The three members of 3 Count celebrated with Abbott - giving him a 3-Count T-Shirt which an excited Abbott quickly put on. As the foursome celebrated, it looked like Abbott got what he had always wanted - to be a member of 3 Count! ----- "Our" Night Backstage, The Gentlemen's Club were in full force - chilling and watching the event so far on the big screen TV. Ric Flair told them to live up the night, because they had planned the night's matches excellently and superbly...and now they just had to let themselves get the rewards of the night. Flair was particularly interested in the night match, because he was looking forward to watching a little ant get SQUASHED. (88%) ----- WCW Extreme Championship Match The Wall (c) (w/Mike Sanders) vs. Shane Helms If ever there was a David vs. Goliath match up - this had to be it. Shane Helms was not only out of his element in an Extreme Rules match - but he was up against the gigantic Wall. Helms tried his best to match up with the Wall - using his speed to zip around the ring and avoid Wall's clutches...which seemed to work well enough early. Helms brought a chair into play as he tried to strike as quickly and as often as possible to try and chop down the tree known as the Wall...and believe it or not, Helms was having a lot of success in his attacks. However, when he tried to springboard off the chair, Wall caught him in midair and slammed him to the mat! The Wall went on to dominate the action against Helms...turning Helms into a bloody mess as he beat on him throughout the ring and at ringside. But even through the punishment, Helms was hanging in there and kicking out of the few pinfall attempts Wall made. Sanders urged Wall to continue dishing out the punishment as he sent a table into the ring. As Wall was setting up the table, Helms hit Wall from behind with a low blow! Helms then leaped onto the table and hit a shining Wizard to Wall! Wall was staggering as Helms tossed him a chair and then hit a spinning heel kick to the chair and back into The Wall's face to send the Wall down! Helms tried to continue on the attack as Wall was getting up, but Helms came off the top rope and was caught by the throat by Wall..CHOKESLAM through the table! Wall made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (76/77/76) Backstage, Flair was shown enjoying that sight of a bloodied Helms lying in the table remains. ----- WCW Four-Way Tag Team Elimination Match Mexico's Most Wanted vs. The Tennessee Outlaws (w/Trinity) vs. The Storm Foundation vs. KroniK The winner of this match would be in line for a WCW Tag Team Championship. This one was contested under four corners rules so only two men could be in the ring at once legally. We went a good while into the match before any team was eliminated as the teams traded the advantages back and forth. Mexico's Most Wanted would be the first eliminated after receiving the High Times from both members of Kronik! Clarke got the cover on Psicosis as Adams took out an incoming Juventud. MMW was eliminated and in came James Wolfe to take on Clarke. The new team of Wolfe and Harris continued to look impressive in the WCW ring as they held their own against both KroniK and The Storm Foundation. No one seemed to expect them to pick up the victory tonight, but they were certainly proving to be a threat. Perhaps they were the only ones NOT surprised when Wolfe lifted up the larger Adams into a bearhug as Harris climbed to the top turnbuckle...they hit the DEAD OR ALIVE to Adams! Wolfe made the cover and picked up the three count to eliminate KroniK! Clarke was beside himself as he realized they had been eliminated! So it came down to The Storm Foundation or The Tennessee Outlaws to determine who would win the match and a shot at the WCW Tag Titles! Storm and Martin took a quick advantage of Wolfe after a cheapshot. Martin and Storm worked over Wolfe until Wolfe made the hot tag to Harris who came in with multiple clotheslines to both Martin and Storm. Storm walked into a big spinebuster from Harris while Wolfe took out Martin with a running clothesline! They called for the D-O-A, but as Harris went to the top turnbuckle, Martin bounced off the ropes, sending Harris down groin first across the turnbuckles! Martin then took out Wolfe with a running Big Boot! Devon Storm climbed the turnbuckles with Harris and hit a top rope hurricanrana! Martin then picked Harris up - Pumphandle Slam! Martin made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - The Storm Foundation (77/72/82) Andrew Martin and Devon Storm celebrated their victory while the crowd greeted them with boos. Martin and Storm would be next in line for tag title shots against the team that walks out the WCW Tag Champions later tonight! ----- Handicap Match Scott Steiner vs. Mark Jindrak & Shawn Stasiak (w/Stacy Keibler) Stasiak and Jindrak were both very confident going into the match, and why wouldn't they be - they had the easy advantage over Steiner with it being a handicap match. But Steiner seemed just as condifent, not letting the numbers game get him down. He immediately showed off his strength and power as he man handled Stasiak from the opening bell. Steiner was looking dominant even in the handicap match...but it was not much longer before Jindrak stuck his nose into the match to let the Gentlemen's Club duo take advantage of their numbers. Once Steiner was down, Jindrak and Stasiak worked to make sure he stayed that way. They kept tagging in and out, keeping the fresh man in against the downed Steiner. Jindrak and Stasiak were still unable to keep Steiner down long enough to get the three count...and an ill-advised miscommunication began the downfall of their double team. Jindrak held Steiner for Stasiak who came off the ropes looking for a lariat, but Steiner moved and Stasiak took down Jindrak! This opened the door WIDE for Steiner who gladly used that opening. Jindrak and Stasiak both ate Steinerlines before Steiner sent Jindrak to ringside via military press! A staggered Stasiak walked into a belly-to-belly suplex from Steiner who then locked in the Steiner Recliner! Referee Charles Robinson checked in..and Stasiak submitted! WINNER - Scott Steiner by submission (74/77/66) Steiner celebrated his victory in the ring to the crowd's approval while Stasiak rolled out of the ring and was met by a very dissatisfied Stacy Keibler and Mark Jindrak. Jindrak and Stasiak got into a shoving match before we cut backstage where Sting and Ric Flair were both visibly unhappy with their team failing to win despite having the two-on-one advantage. ----- WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match Chavo Guerrero (c) (w/KroniK) vs. Rey Mysterio After being defeated earlier tonight, KroniK returned to perform their paid duties to act as insurance to keep the Cruiserweight Title on Chavo. With the loss still fresh on their mind, Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke were both clearly not in good moods. Chavo seemed to take this as a good thing, as he hoped it would help him retain tonight against Rey. A former 5-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion himself, Rey is certainly no stranger to the Cruiserweight Title and has long been the face of the WCW Cruiserweight Division. While he has spent a lot of time outside the division recently as the WCW Tag Champion, he found himself fitting right back in at 'home' in the cruiserweight division. He and Chavo put on an excellent match which is pretty much the standard for WCW Cruiserweight action. Chavo tried to slow the pace of the match down in his own favor, as he could not match the amazing speed that Rey Mysterio possesses. Chavo grounded his challenger and worked over his arm with a variety of armbar submissions - showing off an expanded moveset. However, Rey can only stay grounded so long and it wasn't long before an effort from the fans helped Rey battle back into the match. Rey was back at full speed, hitting Chavo with his high flying offense. Adams and Clarke noticed Chavo was in trouble, and climbed onto the apron to help...but Rey sent Chavo into the ropes - knocking Adams down off the apron before Rey hit a springboard enziguri to Clarke to send him down! Chavo then was sent across the ropes with a drop-toe-hold followed by a 6-1-9! Chavo was staggered as Rey springboarded into the ring with the West Coast Pop! One, Two, Three! We have a new Cruiserweight Champion! WINNER - Rey Mysterio by pinfall (88/82/94) Rey lifted up the WCW Cruiserweight Title high into the air as the crowd gave the new champion a standing ovation while a defeated Chavo chewed out his hired guns at ringside. ----- WCW Tag Team Championship Match The Outsiders (c) vs. Ric Flair & Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) After watching Stasiak and Jindrak lose to Scott Steiner earlier, Flair and Hennig wanted to turn things around for the Gentlemen's Club and not only that but also bring back some gold to the Club. Early going seemed to indicate that things might not be so easy for the Club as the tag champs brought their A-Game tonight as Hall and Nash were both firmly in control of the action. With the crowd solidly in their court, The Outsiders were looking like surefire bets to retain the titles tonight...but that was before Flair entered and took down Hall from behind with a low blow. With that sneak attack - the challengers were able to isolate Hall to take advantage of the match. Flair and Hennig took turns working over Hall and going for covers - but still were unable to keep Hall down as Nash was always there to make the save. Flair managed to lock in the Figure Four to Hall...but Nash quickly came in and a boot to Flair's chest broke it up. Hennig entered the ring and went after Nash in a brawl that ended up going to ringside. Nash got the upperhand on Hennig at ringside, tossing him into the ringsteps as Hall surprised Flair with a jawbreaker! Hall took down Flair with the Last Call and made the tag to a returning Nash! Nash came in and picked up where Hall left off, dropping Flair across the turnbuckles with the Snake Eyes and then hitting a sidewalk slam to Flair! Nash dropped his straps as he signaled for the Jackknife! Hennig tried to make the save, but Hall cut him off with a kneelift as Nash got the pin - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - The Outsiders by pinfall (82/88/70) ----- WCW United States/'Canadian Heavyweight Title/#1 Contendership Match Lance Storm (c) vs. Diamond Dallas Page This match would not just determine a US/Canadian champion but also a contender for the WCW Championship - with the winner receiving a title shot at World War III next month! The match started out with a lockup that saw both men going back and forth trading waistlocks and go-behinds. Page tried to keep up with Storm's grappling, but quickly found himself outclassed by Storm's superior technical wrestling skills. Storm took Page to the mat and quickly locked him in a leg scissors...but Page made it to the ropes. Page, abandoning the idea of hanging with Storm technically, opted to go the brawling route which was much more up his alley. Page took the advantage as he sent Storm into the corner and worked him over with punches and stomps in the corner before hitting Storm with a bulldog out of the corner. His advantage would garner Page a few nearfalls over the champion, but soon Storm surprised Page with a drop toe hold that allowed Storm to retake the control of the match. Storm took the offensive and used a variety of submissions focusing on Page's legs and back to try and get the "People's Champ" to tap out - but Page was never one to give up. He fought his way to the ropes each time. Storm did not lose his focus on the match at hand, however, and continued on the attack. Chants of 'USA' rained down on Storm as he continued to control the offense - which gave Page some motivation to fight his way back. A discus clothesline from Page laid out Storm and allowed Page to get back into the offensive advantage. However, an attempt of a Diamond Cutter was shoved off by Storm who then went for a superkick. Page grabbed Storm's foot and attempted the same Diamond Cutter set up as he did two Thunders ago, but this time it was well scouted by Storm who spun around and hit a frontflip calf kick to Page! Storm went for the cover but only picked up a two count. Storm would lock Page in the Canadian Maple Leaf and looked for the submission once again - but the crowd cheered Page on as he crawled to the ropes and broke up the submission! Page battled his way back to his feet once again, this time laying out Storm with a tiltawhirl backbreaker! Page lifted Storm up onto his shoulders with a fireman's carry, and was going for the Diamodn Cutter once again, but Storm slid down Page's back and hit a German Suplex which he then rolled into another Canadian Mapleleaf! Page refused to tap out and once again tried to battle his way to the ropes...but Storm pulled him back to the center of the ring! Storm sat down on the hold more...and Page seemed to be trapped, but refused to tap out until the pain became so unbearable that he actually passed out! Referee Billy Silverman called for the bell, awarding the match to Lance Storm! WINNER - Lance Storm by TKO (81/82/88) Lance Storm calmly celebrated his victory as the crowd booed him loudly. Storm was going to receive a WCW World Title shot at World War 3! ----- WCW World Championship Match - Special Referee: Ric Flair Booker T (c) vs. "The Icon" Sting (w/Stacy Keibler) The question remained, who would be the champion at World War 3? After Sting turned his back on Booker at Fall Brawl, Sting awarded himself this match as a result of the stipulation that went alogn with winning War Games. With Keibler at ringside and Flair as the referee - a betting man had to not like Booker's odds. But Booker was used to going up against the odds, so even with Flair as the referee - he was willing to go into battle and defend his title against Sting. It started out as a slugfest between champion and challenger that Booker quickly took advantage over. But as Booker worked Sting into the corner, Flair stepped in and broke it up - citing that Booker was using closed fists which were illegal. This would be a common theme in the title match as everytime Booker started to get an upperhand on "The Icon" - Flair would find a reason to threaten Booker with a disqualification. Though there was no doubt Flair would not disqualify anyone since that would result in Booker leaving as champion! With Flair in his pocket, Sting was able to control the match and do just about whatever he wanted. He did not even hesitate to bring in a chair while Flair 'looked away' because his eye was bothering him - allowing Sting to work over Booker with chairshot after chairshot! Sting went for the pin...a lightning fast two count saw Booker kick out just before Flair's hand hit the mat a third rapid time. The crowd got behind Booker and brought him back into the match. Booker battled his way back against Sting and hit a scissors kick followed by the spinaroonie to his feet! Sting went for the cover as Flair slowly made his way over and made a long two count that saw Sting finally kick out! Booker shoved Flair, which resulted in Flair shoving Booker right back into a rollup from Sting! One-Two-Thre...kickout by Booker! Both men rolled to their feet and Sting took a swing at Booker, but Booker ducked and hit the BOOK END! Booker hooked Sting's leg - One - - - - - - - - - TWO - - - - - - - - - - - Suddenly Flair's arm was bothering him and he was unable to make the three count. Booker got up and clearly had had enough for Flair. Booker gave Flair a kick to the midsection and hit him with the Scissors Kick! Referee Nick Patrick ran down from the back as Booker went for another pinfall! One, Two, Thre...Sting got his shoulder up! Booker pulled Sting up, and Sting drove his head into Booker's breadbasket! Sting lifted Booker up and drove him to the mat with a spinebuster! Sting pulled Booker back to his feet and sent him into the ropes. Sting ran in and hit the Stinger Splash before sending him into the opposite corner and going for a second Stinger Splash...but Booker moved! Sting hit the turnbuckles and walked right intot he Harlem Sidekick! Booker went for the cover - One, Two, Thre....FLAIR pulled Patrick out of the ring and kicked Patrick between the legs! Flair entered the ring with the WCW World Title and took a swing at Booker T! Booker ducked the title shot and dropped Flair with a calf kick! Meanwhile, Stacy Keibler slid in Sting's baseball bat! Sting picked up the bat as Booker looked down at the WCW Title. He picked it up and turned around to use it on Sting, but Sting laid him out with a shot from the bat! Sting then pulled Booker back up as the crowd showered him with boos. SCORPION DEATH DROP! Sting hooked Booker's leg as Flair crawled over...One...Two...Three! WINNER - Sting by pinfall (86/96/66) "The Icon" Sting was handed the WCW Title by Ric Flair who then lifted his hand in the air as the new WCW Champion! The crowd booed The Gentlemen's Club furiously as they stood victorious once again, with the WCW Title back in their possession! Halloween Havoc came to a close as Sting and Flair celebrated the victory in the ring. OVERALL - 81% ---------

WCW Tuesday Nitro October 16, 2001 LIVE from the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, MD Announcers: Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti Clips from Sunday's Halloween Havoc opened the show as we witness "The Icon" Sting defeating Booker T with much assistance from the special guest referee Ric Flair. Mike Tenay & Glenn Gilberti welcome us to the show and hype up what a huge event Halloween Havoc was and encouraged us to check out the replay if we had not yet seen the show...as not only did we witness Booker T getting screwed out of the WCW Title - but we also saw Lance Storm defeating Diamond Dallas Page to not only retain the WCW United States title but also earning a World Title shot at the next show, World War 3. Tenay announced that "The Icon" Sting was on his way to the arena tonight and would be here soon to discuss his title win...and with Booker T also scheduled to be on hand, things could get intense! But kicking things off was the "Storm Warning" signal going off in the Baltimore Arena as WCW 'Canadian Heavyweight' Champion Lance Storm made his way down to the ring escorted by The Storm Foundation of Andrew Martin and Devon Storm. Storm entered the ring and revealed that he wanted to be serious for a minute. He hyped up the success The Storm Foundation had at Halloween Havoc, because at World War 3 - The Storm Foundation would be challenging for the WCW Tag Team Championship while Lance Storm himself would be challenging for Sting's newly acquired WCW World Title. Lance Storm was proclaimed that World War 3 would indeed be a war. A war with Canada coming out on top. Because, as Lance Storm revealed, World War 3 would be taking place in his homeland! And not just any part of Canada...it would be in.. CALGARY Dramatic Pause. ALBERTA, CANADA! Lance Storm declared that at World War 3 - in his homeland of Canada - Lance Storm and The Canadian Foundation will walk out with the top titles for their divisions, and Canada will finally be the world power that it always has meant to be! (84%) ----- Non-Title Match Rey Mysterio vs. Yang (w/Leia Meow) Fresh off his title victory over Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio begins his 6th reign as WCW Cruiserweight Champion with a non-title match against the Jung Dragons' Yang. This match served mostly to give Rey the opportunity to look impressive the first time out as champion. Yang and Rey work amazingly together and put on a great match - though the fans pretty much knew the outcome from the getgo. Yang got in a good amount of offense, however, but ultimately Rey would put Yang away with the 6-1-9 followed by the West Coast Pop! WINNER - Rey Mysterio by pinfall (73/65/100) As Rey was handed the WCW Cruiserweight Title by Billy Silverman - KroniK hit the ring and attacked the Cruiserweight Champion from behind! Rey was no match for the double team from the two powerhouses...and it was not long before Adams and Clarke put Rey down with the High Times! Chavo Guerrero made his way down to the ring to look over the damage that had been done. He approved of the attack and lifted up Rey's Cruiserweight Title, receiving boos from the crowd. Chavo tossed the belt down onto Rey before leaving the ring with KroniK. ----- I'm Bad and He's Buff "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner made his way down to the ring to a big face pop from the crowd. The crowd certainly has taken a shine to the Big Bad Booty Dadddy since his return as a face. Poppa took the microphone and gave a promo about his victory in the handicap match at Halloween Havoc, and he said that this proves that he literally has the power of two men. Well, at lease two men. As Steiner and the crowd were performing his signature "Big Poppa Pump is ya hook up line," Stacy Keibler interrupted him as she brought Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak down to the ring. Keibler said that the fact that Steiner was somehow able to defeat both Jindrak and Stasiak was absurd...something wasn't right about Sunday night..Steiner was just extremely lucky to walk out with such a fluke victory. She said she knew that if he had to, he couldn't do it again. Steiner said that he had a feeling she'd be out here tonight, because she's just that physically attracted to him. She can't keep her eyes off of Big Poppa Pump. But Steiner said that he was prepared for this, and while he would have no problems beating both their asses by himself again...he prefers to have the odds a little more evened up. So, since the Gentlemen's Club no longer has the authority to make a handicap match...he came prepared with a partner of his own! "BUFF....DADDY! I'm Buff, I'm the Stuff, and the Girl's Just Can't Get Enough!" Buff Bagwell made his way down to the ring to a decent reaction from the crowd. Bagwell and Steiner reunited their old "Bad & Buff" team and it looked like we had ourselves a tag team match! (91%) ----- Steiner & Bagwell vs. Jindrak & Stasiak (w/Stacy Keibler) Steiner and Bagwell had the crowd active during the match as Jindrak and Stasiak never really got into any sort of rhythm in the match after being taken aback by the 'face' turn of Buff Bagwell. On a whole, Jindrak & Stasiak were have A LOT of communication issues during the match and just weren't on the same page. As a result, this one was mostly controled by Steiner and Bagwell. As Stasiak found himself unable to get any offense in - Stacy Keibler was chewing him out at ringside as Jindrak entered the ring as the legal man. Jindrak managed to get in some offense against Bagwell, but when Steiner came in - Steiner took out both Jindrak and Stasiak with Steinerlines. As Steiner went for the Steiner Recliner to Jindrak - Stasiak entered the ring and tried to make the save, but accidentally took out Jindrak with an errant clothesline! Bagwell sent Stasiak out of the ring with a clothesline as Jindrak locked in the Steiner Recliner to Jindrak! Jindrak quickly submitted! WINNERS - Steiner & Bagwell by pinfall (61/88/66) As Steiner and Bagwell left the ring victorious - Mark Jindrak, Shawn Stasiak, and Stacy Keibler were left in the ring alone. Keibler and Jindrak appeared to be on the same page - which involved reeming out Stasiak for the loss and apparently other losses as well. Stasiak, getting fed up with the anger, shoved his way past Jindrak and began to leave the ring...but Jindrak attacked Stasiak! Jindrak laid Stasiak into the mat before picking him up and hitting the Mark of Excellence to Stasiak! Jindrak and Keibler walked off together as Stasiak was left lying on the mat! ----- The True Icon of WCW The crowd booed loudly as the new WCW World Champion "The Icon" Sting made his way down to the ring with the title around his shoulder. Sting climbed into the ring and took the microphone. He wanted to dedicate his title victory to all the fans who had turned their backs on him because he was no longer the 'top dog' in WCW. To all his fans that decided they liked Booker T more than him. To all the people who had said Sting was just a shell of his former self. To all the people who said Sting didn't have what it took to be WCW Champion again. Sting proclaimed himself as not just the True Icon of WCW but a Living Legend in the sport of professional wrestling. He and Ric Flair will one day sit atop the Mount Rushmore of Wrestling as wrestling royalty. And if there's one thing he could gaurantee - Booker T would be nowhere to be found on that mountain. Because while everyone loves Booker T now...his success - his popularity - his fame, will NOT last. He's nothing more than the flavor of the month when it comes to wrestling history. Ten years from now when youngsters are looking back on what wrestlers they want to be like...they will remember the Stings and the Ric Flairs in wrestling history, while Booker T will be nothing more than a footnote that he held the WCW title a few times in their down years. It should be no surprise that when WCW is gearing up to retake its rightful spot at the top of the wrestling world, that "The Icon" Sting would be the one representing it as its champion. "CAN YOU DIG IT...SUCKA?!" Booker T apparently had a few things to say about Sting's comments - as he interrupted the champion and made his way down to the ring. Booker slid into the ring and told Sting that he could understand his jealousy over Booker T...but a true 'living legend' such as Sting should know a thing or two about respect and class. And it's one thing to defeat Booker T for the WCW Title....but the way Sting did it was definitely not classy. He said that if anything, Sting and Flair will be sitting atop the Mount Rushmore of Hypocrites. Things began to get heated between the two before "American Made" hit the PA system, bringing out the Chairman of the Board Hulk Hogan. Hogan said that he agreed that the way Sting won the title was less than honorable. And that's why Hogan was going to go ahead and make a rematch for the WCW Title between Sting and Booker T! And he couldn't think of any better place to have that rematch than right here in Baltimore! The crowd loved that announcement - Booker T also couldn't help but like that announcement. Sting, however, was less than thrilled but at this point there's nothing he could do because tonight's main event was set! "The Icon" Sting would defend the WCW Title against Booker T! (92%) ----- Entering the War "SELF HIGH FIVE" Diamond Dallas Page made his way down to the ring through the crowd before climbing into the ring. DDP was unsuccessful at Halloween Havoc in winning the US Title and a shot at the WCW Title, but not from a lack of trying. He passed out in the clutches of Lance Storm's Canadian Mapleleaf - but he never tapped out. Page took the microphone and addressing the crowd. Page admitted that he felt like he let the fans down on Sunday because he did not walk out with the US Title or the shot for the WCW World Title at World War 3. But he said that while he was defeated, he always lived by the motto of never give up and Sunday, he NEVER gave up! The crowd cheered for Page's never say die atttidue. Page said that while he may not have won a title shot for World War 3...there was definitely an opening for a title shot at STARCADE. And the winner of the World War 3 60-man over the top battle royal would be the challenger for the WCW title at Starcade. So Page was officially throwing his name into that big 60 man hat because he needed to redeem himself. "WHO BUILT THIS HOUSE? PRIME TIME DID. PRIME TIME DID." "Primetime" Elix Skipper made his way down to the ring to very little heat from the crowd. Skipper climbed into the ring and told Page to slow his roll because it was PRIME TIME for PRIMETIME to be in consideration for a title shot. Skipper said that he two wanted to put his name into the 60 man Battle Royal. Page said that there was plenty of spots to go around since it is a SIXTY man Battle Royal. But with so many people, Page felt bad that he might not get the chance to slap Skipper with the Diamond Cutter during the actual Battle Royal....so....he might as well do it TONIGHT! (78%) ----- Diamond Dallas Page vs. "Primetime" Elix Skipper Unfortunately poor 'Prime Time' was definitely outmatched in this one and really didn't stand a chance against 'The People's Champion.' Skipper managed to get in some limited offense, Page quickly took control and dashed any dreams Skipper had of walking out with the upset. After a belly to back facebuster - Page called for the Diamond Cutter. Skipper staggered to his feet and Page put him out of his misery with the Diamond Cutter. Page made the cover and picked up the academic three count. WINNER - Diamond Dallas Page by pinfall (63/68/75) After the match, DDP exited the ring through the crowd as they celebrated his victory with him. ----- Conspiring Opponents Backstage, "The Icon" Sting paid a visit to the locker room of Lance Storm and the Storm Foundation. Sting greeted the trio and congratulated them on their recent success - but wanted a moment to speak with Lance in private. Lance sent Martin and Devon out of the room as he had a 'private' meeting with the WCW World Champion. Sting said he was looking forward to meeeting one-on-one with such a skilled wrestler such as Storm - but he had a favor to ask of him. Sting said he would hate to lose out on his opportunity to get this one-on-one match with Lance, but that could happen tonight if he doesn't defeat Booker T. Sting suddenly realized the camera in the room, and didn't want to divulge this meeting to the masses, so he told the camera to get out! Reluctantly, our camera man left leaving us in the dark as to what that meeting was all about...but one could probably jump to a conclusion. (93%) ----- Turncoat Tank Backstage, Scott Hudson was standing by with Alicia Webb and Hot Commodity who lost their 6-man tag match at Halloween Havoc to 3 Count when 3 Count apparently gave Tank what he really always wanted - a spot in the group. Alicia Webb said it made her sick to her stomach to think they brought Tank back to WCW, accepted him into their little group, and he would go and turn his back on them like that. She said that Tank showed his true colors and what kind of man he really is on Sunday. They know the kind of force Tank is in the ring...but they're not backing down. Tonight, Cassidy O'Reilly is stepping into the ring with Abbott and not backing down from the challenge! (73%) ----- Cassidy O'Reilly (w/Alicia Webb & Air Paris) vs. Tank Abbott (w/3 Count) Abbott came out to the tunes of 3 Count with his new friends in his corner. Karagias and company were certainly enjoying having Tank Abbott back in their corner. The dancing Tank was no longer a welcome sight to the fans as he went up against an outgunned Cassidy O'Reilly. But O'Reilly was not about to back down from the challenge, and managed to hold his own against Tank in the ring as he used his speed to avoid the heavy punches of Tank. O'Reilly managed to get Tank down with a sitdown facebuster! O'Reilly got a nearfall when he hit a spring moonsault off the ropes, but Tank kicked out. 3 Count provided the distraction that allowed Tank Abbott to fight back and as soon as O'Reilly was slowed down - it was easy for Tank to knock him out with that one big right hand! Tank made the cover on the fallen O'Reilly and picked up the three count! WINNER - Tank Abbott by pinfall (56/57/70) Air Paris and Alicia tended to O'Reilly while 3 Count celebrated with Tank as if they themselves had won the match! ----- MAIN EVENT - WCW World Championship match "The Icon" Sting (c) (w/Stacy Keibler) vs. Booker T As Booker T looked eager to attempt to win back his WCW Championship - Sting was not interested in becoming a two day World Champion. The match was on par with their outting from Sunday - minus all the Ric Flair shenanigans. But with just Keibler at ringside, she always provides as much distraction and outside assistance as anyone in the Gentlemen's Club. Sting and Booker went back and forth most of the match, slowly brawling in and out of the ring. After Keibler tripped up Booker off the ropes, Sting took control of the offense. Sting began working over Booker's lower back and legs to set him up for the Scorpion Deathlock. Sting would manage to lock on the Scorpion Deathlock to Booker..but Booker refused to tap. With the crowd supporting him, Booker rallied and grabbed the bottom rope to break the hold. Booker began to fight his way back to his feet and took Sting out with a clothesline. Booker lifted Sting up and drove him into the mat with a high angle spinebuster. Booker went for the pin - but only got a two count. Booker continued on the attack as he found his second wind. After a Harlem Sidekick, Booker would once again pick up a very close two count. Booker was firmly in control of the champion and had him reeling after a Scissors Kick which saw Booker T use the spinaroonie to get back to his feet! The crowd popped loudly for Booker after the Spinaroonie as it looked like he was going to take his momentum back to the WCW Title...but as he went for the Book End - Lance Storm slid into the ring and attacked Booker T from behind! Referee Charles Robinson immediately called for the bell. WINNER - Booker T by disqualification (76/94/66) Lance Storm stayed ontop of Booker, laying stomp after stomp into the former champion as Sting recovered to his feet. Storm and Sting worked together to lay the beating onto Booker. They pulled Booker up and Sting dropped Booker to the mat with the Scorpion Death Drop! After laying out Booker T, Sting and Storm stood tall over his fallen body. Sting extended his arm out to Lance Storm and Storm embraced it with a handshake...but as soon as Storm had let his guard down, Sting pulled Storm in and dropped him with a Scorpion Death Drop of his own! Sting put the boots to both Booker and Lance Storm before being handed the WCW Title by Stacy Keibler. Keibler lifted up "The Icon's" arm in victory as Nitro came to a close. OVERALL - 76%

WCW Thursday Thunder October 18, 2001 From the Normandy Arena in Salisbury, MD Announcers: Don Callis & Ernest 'The Cat' Miller Cruiserweight Title Contendership Match Juventud Guerrera vs. Jamie Noble vs. Kash With Rey Mysterio being our new cruiserweight champion, the Board of Directors was looking for a new challenger to go up against Rey at World War 3. Noble, Juvi, and Kash each wanted the title shot just as bad as the other - and they were pulling out the stops to not only get the win but put on an entertaining match for the fans. The crowd was really into the match, watching all three men go at it. It went back and forth at a very high speed pace with each man picking up multiple nearfalls. However, we would not get a clear and decisive winner as the end of the match came when former champion Chavo Guerrero made his way down to the ring with KroniK! Adams and Clarke climbed into the ring and began attacking all three competitors! Chavo watched with delight as Noble first took a High Times, followed by Kash and then Juvi as well! WINNER - No Decision (77/81/92) Chavo Guerrero climbed into the ring and took the microphone as Adams and Clarke got in a few more stomps to the fallen cruiserweights. Chavo said he didn't understand how HE could be left out of this match. And if the Board of Director's didn't think, for whatever reason, Chavo deserved a rematch - he would just take out the competition! Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman - The Filthy Animals - emerged from the back! Rey had the microphone and told Chavo that he messed with the wrong Mexican on Nitro. He said that the Animals were ready to attack! Chavo said if he has a problem with him, he can take it up with KroniK. In fact, Chavo had an idea - he said that the Filthy Animals could take on KroniK - but if KroniK wins...Chavo would get his rematch against Rey Mysterio at World War 3! Rey said he had no problem with that stipulation! (73%) ----- The Filthy Animals vs. KroniK (w/Chavo Guerrero) Kidman and Rey stormed the ring, going head on at Adams and Clarke - using their speed to avoid their early attacks. Rey and Kidman targeted Adams and Clarke's knees and both managed to take both men down with dropkicks! Referee Billy Silverman got some control and got two legal men in the ring as Rey went up against Adams. Rey continued to show off his great speed against Adams - but eventually the speed of Kidman and Rey would prove to not be enough as Clarke managed to slow down Kidman and use his power to ground him to the mat. Clark and Adams took turns working over Kidman as Chavo watched on with satisfaction at ringside. However when Adams went for a powerbomb - Kidman reversed it into a facebuster and was able to get the tag to Rey Mysterio! Mysterio springboarded into the ring and dropped a legdrop across the back of the recovering Adams' head! Rey Mysterio bounced off the ropes, keeping on the attack until Adams exploded with a Big Boot! Adams brought in Clarke who kept on the attack until Rey countered a clothesline into a float over DDT! Rey made it to the corner to tag in Kidman! Kidman came in with a head of steam, but soon found himself double teamed by Adams and Clarke! As referee Silverman got Adams out of the ring, Chavo pulled Rey down off the apron and slammed him into the ring steps! This allowed Clark to tag Adams back in...HIGH TIMES to Kidman! Adams made the cover - One, Two, Three! WINNERS - KroniK by pinfall (72/73/88) Chavo entered the ring and celebrated with his two 'insurance policies' as they have helped secure him a WCW Cruiserweight Title rematch at World War 3! ----- Never Trust a Scorpion "A severe STORM Warning has been issued for Salisbury, Maryland" Lance Storm and the Storm Foundation made their way down to the ring to a lot of boos from the crowd. Lance Storm took the microphone and explained that he wanted to be serious for a minute. He explained that he was very disappointed in Sting's actions on Nitro - but he understood that they were opponents at World War 3, and he was just mad that he didn't think of it first. But Storm assured us that he would get the last laugh in Calgary.....Dramatic Pause....Alberta, Canada. The Wolfpack theme hit the PA system as The Outsiders made their way out to a pop from the crowd. Hall and Nash entered the ring, getting cold stares from Andrew Martin and Devon Storm. Hall took the microphone and greeted the crowd with a 'Hey Yo!' Hall asked the crowd how many people came to see The Outsiders...big pop, and how many people came to see the Storm Foundation - loud boos. Hall then handed the microphone over to Nash, who told Lance that he made a big mistake...a mistake everyone in WCW and everyone in this audience had done for so long - and that's trust a scorpion. Nash said Lance Storm is playing with the 'big boys' now and he needed to learn to pick his allies wisely. Lance Storm told Nash he did not want or need advice from him. He said he has all it takes to be a champion without him. You had to look no further than the Canadian Championship around his waist. Nash apologized, but from one champion to another Nash said as he pointed to his own tag titles, he should listen to the advice of his elders whenever he has the chance. Storm gave Nash another, thanks - but no thanks answer. Nash said fair enough - but how about instead of offering him advice - he offers him a challenge - once again one champion to another. How about tonight, Storm put the Canadian Title on the line against Kevin Nash. Martin and Devon seemed to be trying to get Lance to turn the offer down - but being the proud Canadian that he was - he couldn't just stick his head between his legs and run away from a challenge from an American. So Storm agreed to the match which would be our main event tonight! (81%) ----- No One Can Stop Them Mike Sanders lead the Towers of Terror - WCW Extreme Champion The Wall and Mike Awesome down to the ring. Sanders took the microphone and hyped up his two monsters and the destruction they've left so far in WCW - and most recently the total annihilation of Shane Helms at Halloween Havoc. It's about time The Wall and Awesome set their sights on a higher target...the WCW World Title. And that's why both The Wall and Mike Awesome will be a part of World War 3! So that they can literally destroy 58 other men and one of them will go on to become World Champion at Starcade. Sanders said that no one...and he meant NO ONE, would stand in their way. But someone was going to try! Out came...MIDAS to answer the challenge. Sanders sarcastically showed fear as the scrawny masked David Flair entered the ring and said that he had the power to stopa speeding locomotive...and that if anyone could defeat the Towers of Terror...it was him! Sanders humored Midas and said he would have his shot...RIGHT NOW. (78%) ----- Midas vs. Mike Awesome (w/Sanders & Wall) Despite how confident he was, Midas definitely did not stand a chance against the former Extreme Champion. Midas hit a few punches that had no effect on Awesome before Awesome unloaded a barrage of offense to Midas the ended with a Running Awesome Bomb! Awesome made the cover and picked up the easy three count! WINNER - Mike Awesome by pinfall Wall and Awesome were leaving the ring with Sanders...when Midas got back to his feet! Midas said they were going to have to do better than that! Not satisfied with having Midas still standing - Sanders sent THE WALL down to the ring! Midas vs. The Wall (w/Sanders & Awesome) Midas once again valiantly tried to battle The Wall - but had no luck against the current Extreme Champion either. Wall quickly disposed of Midas with a big boot - gave him a Military Press Slam - and finally finished him off with the Chokeslam. Wall made the cover and finished off the slaughter. WINNER - The Wall by pinfall (64/67/78) ----- Addition by Subtraction Backstage - Michelle Gold was standing by with Mark Jindrak and Stacy Keibler. They were here to discuss what happened on Nitro when they laid the beating the to Shawn Stasiak. Keibler explained that Stasiak was a waste of space and had been holding Jindrak down ever since they joined The Gentlemen's Club. He was the weak link in the organization - and the final straw was when they lost on Nitro. But now that Jindrak is no longer being held back - The Gentlemen's Club and himself will thrive without Stasiak. She called Jindrak the 'Reflection of Perfection' and that losing Stasiak would be addition by subtraction. (84%) ----- The List Grows "VERTEBREAKER" Shane Helms made his way down to the ring to some decent cheers from the crowd. Helms took the microphone and said that he was man enough to admit that he got his ass handed to him by The Wall - it didn't take a rocket scientist to see that. But it just goes to show us how far the Gentlemen's Club was willing to go to not give him what he wants. So, if they aren't going to give him a fair match against the man who put him out of action - Sting - then he guessed he would jsut have to earn it the hard way...and he had no problem doing that. He'd put himself into World War 3 and find a way to win that! Out came Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli led to the ring by Kimberly Page. They entered the ring and Kim took the microphone - saying that she didn't know who Helms thought he was coming out here saying he was going to just manage to beat 59 other people when he couldn't even beat The Wall one-on-one...because guess what, The Wall is in World War 3. In fact, he probably couldn't even beat Stamboli one-on-one and Stamboli will be in World War 3. Helms asked if that was a challenge, because he was up for a challenge tonight. Stamboli seemed to indicate he wasn't feeling well enough to wrestle, but Kim wasn't about to let her man back down from a challenge and she accepted the match for him! (72%) ----- Shane Helms vs. Johnny 'The Bull' Stamboli (w/Kimberly Page) Helms and Stamboli locked up to start the match, which saw Stamboli get an early advantage using his size advantage over the smaller Helms. Stamboli was able to use his size advantage most of the match to work over Helms while the crowd gave him heat over his sometimes shady tactics. Stamboli picked up a few nearfalls over Helms, but Helms began to battle his way back up as Stamboli had him locked in a chinlock. The crowd came alive as Helms battled back and hit a single knee facebuster to Stamboli! Stamboli was reeling briefly, but battled back agaisnt Helms sudden offensive onslaught. However when he attempted to lift up Helms for a Military Press, Helms slid down Stamboli's back and dropped him with a straightjacker sleeper sitout slam! Helms slowly recovered to his feet as Stamboli got up...SUGAR SMACK! Helms went for the pin - One, Two, Thre...Kimberly put Stamboli's foot on the ropes! Helms argued with Kimberly which led to a rollup from Stamboli! One, Two, Thre...kickout by Helms! Stamboli gave Helms a kick to the midsection and went for a spinning DDt - but Helms countered and reversed it into the Nightmare on Helms Street! Helms had the cover in the center of the ring - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Shane Helms by pinfall (69/79/75) Helms celebrated his victory as Kimberly looked downright pissed at ringside. She slid in the chain to a recovering Stamboli who wrapped it around his arm...Stamboli got to his feet and attacked Helms from behind! Helms hit the mat as Stamboli laid a beating to Helms using the chair wrapped arm! Once the damage had been done, Stamboli left the ring with Kimberly, leaving Helms laid out on the mat. ----- More Business To Take Care Of Backstage, Michelle Gold was standing by with Ted DiBiase and his 'bounty hunter' Chuck Palumbo. Gold wanted the scoop on DiBiase's list. DiBiase said that he and Palumbo had collected on debts from most of the list - but there was still a few names left. He noticed that a couple of the names were actually listed to be in World War 3! With that in mind, he figured it'd make sense to put Palumbo in the 60 man Battle Royal to not just look to 'collect' on those debts - but reward Palumbo for all his hard work with winnig a title shot. Palumbo rubbed his fists and nodded his head in approval. (70%) ----- MAIN EVENT - United States/'Canadian Heavyweight' Championship Match Lance Storm (c) (w/The Storm Foundation) vs. Kevin Nash (w/Scott Hall)[/u] One half of the tag champions met up with the US/Canadian Heavyweight champion tonight in our main event. The match also had World War 3 implications as Nash and Hall would be defending the Tag Championship against The Storm Foundation at the PPV. But tonight it was all about Nash and Storm who did battle in the ring. Unfortunately for Storm, at this point in his career Nash still seems to be phoning in his performances and is still quite lazy in the ring and even Lance Storm couldn't carry Nash to decent match. Nash controled the majority of the match, working over Storm with his slow and repeatative offense. Storm would eventually work his way into an advantage by targeting Nash's weak knees to get Nash down to the mat. Storm slammed Nash's knees repeatedly into the canvas to help work over his target. However when he would attempt the Canadian Mapleleaf - Nash fought it off - kicking Storm square in the mouth with his other leg. Nash went on the attack, lifting up Storm and dropping him face first across the top turnbuckle with the Snake Eyes! Storm stumbled out of the corner into a sideslam from Nash! Nash got to his feet and the straps came down on his tights! This was the signal for the Jackknife power bomb - which immediately brought Devon Storm onto the apron! This got Nick Patrick's attention allowing Andrew Martin to slide into the ring and surprise Nash with a running BIG BOOT! Nash hit the mat and in came Scott Hall to try and make the save - but Patrick noticed Hall entering the ring and cut him off! Hall argued with Patrick until Martin left the ring and came around the outside with Devon - and together they grabbed Hall's legs from outside the ring and pulled Hall to the mat, sliding him out of the ring! The double team ensued as Lance Storm crawled over and made the cover on Nash - One, Two, Three! WINNER - Lance Storm by pinfall via interference (64/77/61) Andrew Martin and Devon storm climbed into the ring with Lance Storm as he was handed his 'Canadian Heavyweight' Championship. The Storm Foundation trio lifted up their arms together in victory as Nash and Hall were both struggling to their feet in the ring and outside the ring. The show came to a close with them celebrating their victory to boos from the crowd. OVERALL - 72% ---------

WCW Running Wild October 20, 2001 From the Normandy Arena in Salisbury, MD Announcers: Don Callis & Michelle Gold Scott Hudson was no longer in the announce booth this week, having been replaced by Don Callis. Hot Commodity (w/Alicia) over Frank Kazarian & Chris Sabin Fazarian & Sabin were our featured indy wrestlers of the week who got to put over Cassidy O'Reilly and Air Paris. The two cruiserweight teams meshed well together and created a good, while short, matchup. While it was pretty much dominated by Paris and O'Reilly hitting their standard offense - Kazarian and Sabin were given the chance to get in some moves to show what they could do. In the end, Paris and Reilly put Sabin away with the Hot Shot. (64/46/83) ----- Rematch Made in Mexico A recap from Thunder showed highlights of what was suppose to be a triple threat match for a shot at the cruiserweight title that was ended by an attack from KroniK and Chavo Guerrero. The Filthy Animals then reunited to challenge KroniK - but Chavo added a stipulation that if KroniK won - Rey Mysterio would have to give Chavo a rematch for the WCW Cruiserweight Title at World War 3. Well, the cards fell in place and KroniK pulled off the victory over the former tag champions, and as a result - Rey Mysterio will indeed defend the Cruiserweight Title against Chavo at the PPV! (76%) ----- Jamie Noble over Kash Speaking of that Cruiserweight three way - Noble and Kash were 2/3 of the match and they got to go at it again on Running Wild! As usual, these two put on a great match in the short time frame they had to perform. While Kash put up a Hell of a fight against Noble, Noble would enventually lay out Kash with a double underhook powerbomb and then lock him in the Hog Tie to get the submission victory. (90/81/100) ----- Veteran Advice On Thunder this week, Kevin Nash of The Outsiders tried to offer some veteran advice to the number one contender to the WCW Title - Lance Storm. However, Lance Storm didn't take too kindly to the advice, and ultimately we ended up with a WCW United States/Canadian Heavyweight Title match between the two instead. We then got a recap of the match as it went back and forth, with ultimately Lance Storm getting some help from the Storm Foundation to defeat Kevin Nash and successfully retain the WCW 'Canadian Heavyweight' Title. (81%) ----- Curt Hennig (w/Stacy Keibler) over Sean O'Haire In tonight's 'Main Event' - Henning and O'Haire did battle in a medicore match that saw both men get plenty of offense in. Ultimately, Keibler's constant interference would drive O'Haire out of his mind until he snapped. He took out Hennig with several suplexes before getting himself DQ'd for not release a choke hold! After being disqualified - O'Haire hit referee Randy Anderson with a Rolling Fireman's Carry! O'Haire ended the match by hitting a Seanton Bomb to Hennig and leaving the ring, though not victorious - he still looked impressive. (77/78/76) ----- Unappreciated A recap of Nitro emphasized the rematch for the WCW World Title between Booker T and "The Icon" Sting. Earlier in the night, Sting had apparently made some sort of deal with his own number one contender - Lance Storm - to have Storm help Sting pick up the win. The deal proved to be pivotal as Storm's involvement led to Sting being disqualified - however, it kept the title aroudn Sting's waist. But after the match, Storm was thanked with a Scorpion Deathdrop from Sting! Callis and Gold wrapped up the show - hyping up Nitro and the fact that Hogan apparently had something special to announce concerning a new entrant into World War 3! Could rumors be true? We'll have to wait and see! OVERALL - 80%
