Cody William Perkins Offseason 12/20/2027 1B Perkins and Chicago: Both Sides Pleased in Deal: Cody William Perkins might be in the twilight of his career, but he is not going to leave the stage before the final act. Today the 36-year-old scribbled his signature on a $17,666,666-a-year deal with the White Sox. Some fans openly questioned the signing, saying they would prefer the club use its resources on younger talent. In 2512 career games, Perkins has put up a .302 average, collected 547 doubles, 33 triples, and 674 home runs, driven in 1920 runs, and scored 1840 times. |

Justin Howes Offseason 12/23/2007 Astros Win Sweepstakes for MR Howe: The Houston Astros presented 36-year-old veteran Justin Howe to the media today as they finalized a $6,900,000-a-year deal that brings the reliever to town for 2 years. Howe has a reputation as one of the smartest guys in the clubhouse and Houston officials hope they can get as much out of Howe in the dugout as they can on the field. So far in his career, Howe has registered 446 saves and fashioned a 91-78 won-lost mark. In 1100 games he has fanned 1371 batters in 1219.2 innings and logged a 2.77 ERA. |

Cody William Perkins Career Update 07/07/2028 Perkins Reaches 700 Mark: A big sigh of relief erupted from Cody William Perkins after he hit his 700th career homer. The Chicago first baseman said, "I'm glad it's over...now I can go back to just playing baseball." It was quite a day for Perkins. He got his name in the league record books with 1 hit, 3 RBI, scored 1 run and his team, the Chicago White Sox beat the Houston Astros 7-0. Perkins knew it when he hit it. He raised his hands in the air, then ran the bases like a high school player, clapping and grinning. He told reporters in the postgame interview, "I was acting goofy running the bases... but it was my 700th home run." "It was great," his manager said. "He stood there and watched it...we all did. You just felt it was coming...you just had a sense he would hit it soon. He has been having a lot of good at-bats. It was great to get it out of the way." Perkins is hitting .300 during his 2595-game career. He has 2928 hits, 556 doubles, 34 triples, 700 home runs, 1990 RBIs, 151 stolen bases and 1895 runs scored.
