Posted Image He had fought so hard. It'd been a legacy of many years that Vince McMahon and his WWF were the top dogs in the world of Wrestling. From the hey days of Hulkamania until the emergence of WCW, they had changed the face of pro wrestling. In the middle of 1995 however, McMahon had made one last mistake. Investing heavily in a new football league to compete with the NFL, McMahon blew what little free income he had and despite having a profitable franchise in the WWF, he was forced to sell. Enter Ted Turner and WCW. Acquiring the company, WCW made the official deal pass near Wrestlemania, although the company had been in the planning stages for their aquisition long before. WWF Raw would be removed, instead taking over the slot of Saturday Night as the 'continuation' of the WWF under the WCW umbrella. Fans were excited, with the dream matches previously thought impossible now a reality. But not everyone would be making the transition to working for Atlanta for a variety of reasons. Bob Backlund - The WWF legend, already pushing 50, decided to simply retire rather than work for somewhere other than the WWF he had stayed loyalty to for so long. Joining him were a handful of other veterans including the Brooklyn Brawler, Groilla Monsoon, Hillbilly Jim, Mr. Fuji & Harvey Wippleman. Hakushi - Feeling he wanted no part on the new WCW, Hakushi returned to Japan. Yokozuna - His weight already spiralling out of control, WCW opted to release the giant samoan until he could cut down his girth. Jim Cornette - Refusing to join up with the new WCW and work for Eric Bischoff, Cornette went off to focus entirely on Smokey Mountain Wrestling. Chris 'Skip' Candido & Tammy Lynn 'Sunny' Lynch - Feeling no real desire to join WCW and longing to be with their old friend Shane Douglas, the couple returned to ECW. 'The Ringmaster' Steve Austin - Refusing to go back to work for Bischoff and WCW, Austin instead went back to ECW. In addition to this small group, the McMahon's themselves also left their business wanting no part of working under Bischoff and WCW. A new day has come and now, April 1st 1996, sees the first Nitro of the new era of pro wrestling on the horizon... Posted Image Wrestlemania XII Results WWF Tag Team Championships The Smoking Gunns (c) def. The Bodydonnas & The Godwinns Camp Cornette (Owen Hart & The British Bulldog) w/ Jim Cornette def. I tried to make the backstory at least a little bit realistic but obviously it's still pretty complicated to find a real way to do it. The basic idea though is that these two aren't separate companies, they work under one banner and as such we hope it'll lead to some future crossover work and you can expect to see WCW and WWF guys on opposite shows to what they originally expect. Hope you guys enjoy! |

WCW Monday Nitro April 1, 1996 Announcers: Tony Shiavone & Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan -Tony Shiavone and The Brain welcomed us to a brand new experience in professional wrestling - tonight was the first night of two completely different rosters under the WCW banner...Nitro and Raw. The Monday Night Wars had come to an abrupt end and WCW had won the war! The Brain took credit for the victory, naturally. Shiavone said that he had no idea what was in store for us tonight with so many changes coming our way...but he announced that Nitro had aquired itself some big names from both companys and should continue to be the flagship program of professional wrestling. They still have WCW World Champion 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair and former champion Randy Savage, but have also added another former World Champion in Bret Hart and perhaps the biggest supernatural force in the industy - The Undertaker! -Kicking off the show, The Four Horsemen...ok well Three Horsemen since Brian Pillman was one of the talents aquired by the Raw brand. But nevertheless, WCW World Champion Ric Flair led United States Champion Arn Anderson down to the ring alongside the young and intense Chris Benoit. Flair and company entered the ring to loud boos from the audience. He took the microphone and after a few 'WOO's' he proceeded to tell us that the more things change, the more things stay the same. Because when all the dust has settled from this 'roster split' - the Four Horsemen remain the most powerful commodity in wrestling with himself as World Champion and 'Double A' as the United States Champion. And not to mention Chris Benoit will continue to tear up WCW competition with the intensity of a 'rabid wolverine.' Flair noted that they were down a man, but Arn Anderson jumped in and said that he was little releaved since he was always a little nervous about what a 'headcase' like Brian Pillman would have done to the Horsemen longterm. Flair agreed - and said that they will certainly be addressing the open spot in the Horsemen within due time. Flair proclaimed what an honor it would be for someone to be invited to join the Four Horsemen...but that only the best can get in and they will have to make sure that whoever fills the void will be worthy. But rest assured - with or without a fourth member - the Horsemen are on TOP and no one, not even any of these 'new faces' in the company were going to change that! -Cue Bret 'The Hitman' Hart coming down to the ring to a big face pop from the crowd. The former WWF Champion climbed into the ring and went toe-to-toe with Flair, taking the microphone. Bret Hart said that he may be new around here - but winning has always come naturally to him...and so has being a champion. And Hart said that as a former champion himself, he was already eyeing that title Flair has. Flair scoffed at Hart - telling him last he checked, he lost the title at the last 'Wrestlemania' - meaning Hart couldn't even be champion in a failing company - how did he expect to be champion here in WCW? Hitman said that it didn't matter what company it was - Hart was still the Best there is, the Best there was, and the Best there EVER will be! Flair came right back and said that around here - Ric Flair is still THE MAN and to be the man, you have to BEAT the man. Hart said he would like nothing more than to beat Flair...and he would love to do it TONIGHT! Flair said that he doesn't back down from a challenge...however, Hart will have to prove himself tonight. If Hart wants a match with Flair, he'll have to go through his personal 'Enforcer' first. So tonight, Bret Hart would take on Arn Anderson later on! (98%) -WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Dean Malenko (c) vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright: Our first in ring action of the night comes in the form of Cruiserweight action. The Cruiserweight Title was recently brought back after being dormant for years...Malenko won the belt against Ultimo Dragon at a Japanese show two months ago and has been on a tear since then. He's not your protypical cruiserweight - as he isn't about high flying but is more mat oriented. The young German Alex Wright looked to match Malenko's grapple technique...but ultimately Malenko outclassed Wright in the ring and would make the German tap out to the Texas Cloverleaf for the victory to retain the title. (68/61/75) -Before his upcoming match, a pre-recoreded segment was aired starring Goldust and Marlena. It was a 'director's commentary' black-and-white video as Goldust introduced his weird self to the WCW audience. He promised to put forth an award winning effort in WCW as he will be taking home all the 'gold.' Tonight's 'first act' of his WCW-epic would feature a performance against the 'grizzled veteran' known as Jake 'The Snake' Roberts. Goldust called Roberts an 'aging star' that would have to get out of the way of the young 'rising star' that is Goldust. Tonight will be Goldust's WCW debut...but rest assured, we would not be forgetting the name....GOLDUST. (76%) -Jake 'The Snake' Roberts vs. Goldust (w/Marlena): Two former WWF guys shared the ring tonight as former Intercontinental Champion Goldust looked to get off to a hot start in WCW. The match itself was sloppy as Jake Roberts has definitely seen better days in the ring. But they went back and forth and the crowd was certainly electric for it as Goldust carried over his heel following from WWF and the WCW crowd bought right into hating the Gold-one. But despite Roberts best efforts, Goldust fought off the DDT attempt and with Marlena distracting the referee - Goldust gave Roberts a low blow and finished him off with the Curtain Call for the three count! (76/81/66) -Backstage, Gene Okerlund was standing by with 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett. OKerlund wanted to get Jarrett's thoughts on coming over to WCW - but Jarrett was not interested in listening to Okerlund's questions. Instead, he wanted to comment on what he saw earlier tonight - The Four Horsemen. Jarrett said that he had always considered Flair a hero of his and talked about what an 'honor' it would be to join the legendary Horsemen. Jarrett called himself a bonafide megastar from WWF and hoped the Horsemen would realize he is a perfect fit for the group. Plus, they already have 'Double A' - it only makes sense to add 'Double J.' Jarrett's screen time was interrupted by another former WWF'er in the form of 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig. Hennig said if ever there was a 'perfect' choice for the Four Horsemen - it was him. Hennig stated his case, but Jarrett criticized Hennig's recent inactivitey - citing that he's not even cleared to wrestle, why would the Horsemen want him? The two former WWF stars got in each other's face before 'Woman' entered the shot and broke them up. She told them Flair was impressed with both of their work to be honest...but no decision is going to be made just yet - but both would certainly be 'in consideration.' (81%) -The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) vs. Mike Enos: The history of the Undertaker in WWF was that of a legend in the making...and for him to turn up in a WCW ring was certainly historic. The crowd oh'd and aw'd his breath taking entrance as Paul Bearer escorted him with urn in hand. This of course was nothing more than a brutal squash against Enos who was only there to serve as the first person to be fed to the deadman in his WCW debut. The Undertaker drilled him with the Tombstone Piledriver to easily get the victory. But the real story behind Taker's WCW debut would be what happened after the match. (67/69/65) -After the match, The Undertaker had dropped to his knee and bowed before the urn held by Paul Bearer...but as he was down, from behind came three huge attackers to the deadman! It was The Giant, Mabel, and a shaved Isaac Yankem! The three powerhouses laid out The Undertaker as 'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan walked out from the back with a sinister grin on his face. Sullivan stared down Paul Bearer and the urn as Bearer trembled and headed for higher ground in fear of being attacked. The Giant showed off his massive strength as he lifted up Undertaker and Chokeslammed him to the mat! The Taskmaster took the microphone and gave a maniacal laugh. He said that the acquisition of WWF had broken up his dream team of destruction that was the Dungeon of Doom. And while he was no longer going to be able to take part in the destruction of Hulkamania - there is another 'phenom' in his presense now. There was no denying what The Undertaker had done in WWF...and now that he's in WCW...The Taskmaster sees the opportunity to get a whole new evil power on his side. He looked up at Paul Bearer who had went for cover with the urn. Sullivan realized that who had the urn could control The Undertaker...and if he could get his hands on that urn...WCW would be his for the taking! And that's why he has assembled a new team...a new Three Faces of Fear. The Giant. Mabel. And Doomsday (the new look and renamed Isaac Yankem). The Taskmaster revealed it was only a matter of time before he had control over The Undertaker and then...WCW! (77%) -Number One Contendership Match: The Steiner Brothers vs. The Blue Bloods (w/Lord Steven Regal): In a match to determine who would challenge tag champions Harlem Heat at Spring Stampede - the heavily favored Steiner Brothers took on the heel 'royalty' team of 'Squire' David Taylor and 'Earl' Robert Eaton. Rick and Scott Steiner were looking dominant early, but a distration by Regal at ringside allowed his royal henchman to sneak attack Scott Steiner and begin to double team him. Eaton and Taylor took turns working over Scott, not letting him make the tag to his brother Rick. The crowd got behind Scott and he eventually broke a chinlock by Taylor and knocked him to the mat with a Steinerline. Scott tagged in Rick who came in and took out both Eaton and Taylor before rounding the ring and barking like a dog. It was all Steiners from this point on as eventually Scott would lift up Eaton onto his shoulders allowing Rick to come off the top with a bulldog! Rick made the cover and got the three count! The Steiner Brothers have earned the right to face Harlem Heat at Spring Stampede for the tag team titles! (69/70/69) -After the match, the Steiner Brothers celebrated to the cheering fans as Lord Stevel Regal gave David Taylor and Robert Eaton a verbal lashing up the aisle. -Backstage, Konnan was standing by with Gene Okerlund as he prepared for his upcoming match. Konnan said that he may no longer be the United States Champion, but he said he something better...this weekend in Mexico he won the Mexican Heavyweight Title in Mexico City! Konnan said that this was an honor higher than anything WCW has to offer for him...and tonight he was going to do Mexico proud as he took out Jim Duggan and his American Flag. (70%) -'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan vs. Konnan: A battle of USA vs. Mexico was an ugly affair as Duggan's age has not helped what was very limited in ring ability to begin with. Together they put on a sloppy match that was lucky not too long. Duggan hit his trademark moves to Konnan, but when he went for his 3 point stance into a clothesline, Konnan ducked and hit a rolling clothesline to Hacksaw. Konnan put Duggan away, making him tap out to the Tequila Sunrise. (68/72/59) -Konnan celebrated his victory to boos from the crowd as he took Jim Duggan's American Flag and tossed it to the ground and stomped on it before dedicating his victory to the great country of Mexico. -MAIN EVENT: Bret 'The Hitman' Hart vs. 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson (w/Woman): A lot was riding on the line in Bret Hart's WCW debut match, even if Arn's US Title was not. Anderson was fighting to represent the Horsemen, while Hart was fighting for a shot at the WCW World Title. Shiavone and Heenan revealed that if Hart can win tonight, he would challenge Ric Flair at Spring Stampede for the WCW World Title! But 'The Enforcer' was a big obstacle in the way to getting that title match. Hart and Anderson wasn't the wrestling clinic it might have been if Anderson was in his prime - but it was still a decent matchup...especially given that nothing we had seen tonight was anything special in the ring. But the duo went back and forth - with Hart looking strong against Anderson before Horsemen's she-devil Woman stuck her nose into the match and helped Anderson get an upperhand. Anderson looked to put Hart away several times during the match with his signature moves like his kneedrop and his Gourdbuster - but Hart kept kicking out - much to the delight of the electric crowd. The crowd cheered the Hitman back into the match as he fought back against Anderson and began setting him up for the Sharpshooter. But just as it looked like Hart was going to lock Anderson into his trademark submission - Chris Benoit was rushing to the ring. Benoit slid into the ring, but Hart saw him coming! Hart ducked Benoit's attack and sent Benoit packing to the ringside. But the distraction did enough to allow Anderson to recover! Anderson gave Hart a boot to the midsection...DDT! That could be it - One, Two, Three....NO! Hart kicked out at the last possible second. Anderson, Benoit, and Woman were all surprised by Anderson had one more trick up his sleeve...the Spinebuster. He sent Hart into the ropes, but Hart held onto the ropes to prevent running back into Anderson's spinebuster! Arn walked into a dropkick from Hart who took back control and after a laying out Anderson with a snap suplex...and then after knocking Benoit off the apron with a right hand - Hart locked in the Sharpshooter to Arn! Arn tried to fight through the pain, but soon found himself tapping out! (86/92/75) -'Hart Attack' hit the PA system as the crowd gave The Hitman a standing ovation as Anderson rolled to ringside to join Benoit and Woman. They helped Anderson up the aisle where Ric Flair was waiting for them. Flair pointed to Hart in the ring and told him that he wouldn't be that lucky against the Natuer Boy! Hart motioned to Flair's title belt and promised to put the belt around his waist at Spring Stampede! Shiavone and Heenan thanked us for watching and heavily hyped the dream matchup at Spring Stampede of Flair/Hart for the WCW World Title! OVERALL - 76% Current WCW Spring Stampede Card -WCW World Championship Match: 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair vs. Bret 'The Hitman' Hart -WCW Tag Championship Match: Harlem Heat (c) vs. The Steiner Brothers Edited by Dubb, Dec 2 2011, 09:16 AM.

Raw Saturday Night April 6, 1996 Announcers: Jim Ross & Jerry 'The King' Lawler - After the opening video montage, Raw starts with Eric Bischoff of all people in the ring, which leaves JR and the King confused. Bischoff says that change is coming. The WWF may be gone, but Raw is still a hot ticket and he is here on behalf of the WCW Board of Directors to help operate the program. The fans aren't sure how to feel but Bischoff pleases them early by announcing the night's main event, a special "Champions Showcase" featuring the Smoking Gunns against 'The Bad Guy' Razor Ramon and the NEW WWF World Champion... Shawn Michaels! JR seems thrilled, as Lawler says that should be a great match-up. Bischoff thanks the fans and promises a great new era in the WWF. (83%) - After a break we see the 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase and the 1-2-3 Kid in the ring. DiBiase is on the stick and tells us that a few years ago, the Kid made his debut by winning a special open challenge. A match for, of course, money. Starting tonight he tells us that the Kid wants to offer the same shot to the Raw superstars. As such he's leaving an open challenge for anyone who thinks they can beat the Kid with a reward of 5,000$ for the winner! Lawler says that's huge and after a brief wait we see the challenge answered by Duke 'The Dumpster' Droese! DiBiase says he didn't know Duke was so greedy, but the Dumpster says he's not here to collect the cash... he's here to take out the trash! With that he fires off some rights and this is under way! (91%) - 5,000$ Challenge - 1-2-3 Kid w/ Ted DiBiase vs. Duke 'The Dumpster' Droese Duke dominates early as he beats around the Kid with punches and kicks before tossing him with a big hip toss and a powerful bodyslam. Eventually Kid bails and starts to recover a little outside the ring. Duke follows but loses his upperhand when the Kid avoids a charge and Droese goes knee first into the steel steps! From here it's all Kid who uses his feet and speed to outpace Duke and finishes him off with a top rope spin kick (Called the 1-2-3 Kick) for the three. (69/68/71) - We cut from this to the parking lot as we see a stretch limo pull up. After it stops the door opens and we see Hulk Hogan, who gets a HUGE pop! JR is going nuts as Hogan is back on Raw! (95%) - After a break out to the ring steps the 'Immortal' one himself to a big pop. After letting the Hogan chants die down, Hulk grabs a microphone and says it's good to be 'home'. He tells all the fans that it's been a long, tough road on Nitro but he's back and he's here to show all of his Hulkamaniacs that he's still got what it takes. He's ready to put the past behind him and hopes the Raw fans can forgive him for leaving. Speaking of the past, out now steps Jimmy Hart flanked by Meng, Hugh Morrus, One Man Gang, The Shark & Big Bubba Rogers (Called Big Bossman Rogers by JR) to booing. Hart says he's upset to not get the same king's welcome for HIS return to the WWF, but it's ok. He's no there for the fans, he's here to make Hulk Hogan pay! He tells him that he isn't done trying to kill Hulkamania and even though the Taskmaster and Giant are gone... he stills wants Hogan to take on the challenge of one of his men! Hulk says he's isn't afraid and asks which member of his Dungeon Of Doom will face him! Hart says he can meet him... right now! Hulk looks confused until he's nail from behind with a stiff lariat... by Vader! The Mastodon is all over Hulk with stiff clubbing blows and finishes his assault with a big powerbomb followed by a Vader Bomb in the corner. Vader heads up the ramp victorious... he's the newest monster in the Dungeon Of Doom! (82%) - British Bulldog & Owen Hart vs. The American Males This is a very good match with the crowd all over Hart and Bulldog. The duo put on a great display here, although Riggs & Bagwell manages some offense with Bagwell even hitting a big DDT for a long two. Eventually the brother in laws take over thouggh and after a big running Powerslam Owen steps in and forces Scotty Riggs to submit to the Sharpshooter. (79/78/80) - After that we are welcomed to the "King's Court" as Jerry Lawler stands in the ring. The King says he's here to interview one of the new faces to the WWF, in fact he's a WCW champion so please welcome... Johnny B. Badd! Badd steps out to some cheering and thanks the fans for their reception. He says that he's here to prove himself to the Raw fans and hopes that eventhough he comes from WCW they will accept him as their TV champion. Lawler is less happy and asks why Badd thinks he can parade around with a title that isn't even sanctioned in the WWF! He goes on a rant now about WCW stars invading his turf and that the fans don't want to see guys like the American Males, Hulk Hogan or Badd... they want to see him! Badd laughs and says it sounds like the fans don't really like him much at all and it sounds like they are chanting... burger king! Lawler is livid but seems to calm down as he says that he hopes Badd enjoys his stay on Raw and he'd like to officially welcome him. King extends his hand and Badd eventually shakes... before getting hit with a low blow! The fans boo as Lawler stomps Badd a few more times and holds up his TV title, promising to 'liberate' it for the WWF soon enough! (79%) - The Bootyman w/ The Bootybabe vs. Salvatore Sincere We are set to see the Bootyman, but instead... it's Brutus Beefcake! Coming out with the lovely Kimberly (And some garden shears) Sincere looks freaked out. That continues throughout the match as the Beefcake stays well in control from bell to bell and finishes things off with a Ace Crusher (Called the Clipper) for the three! He celebrates with Kimberly as we go to a commercial. (60/56/65) - We come back to see Razor Ramon slipping on a gold necklace and admiring himself. he turns around and smiles when onto the scene steps the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Michaels is all smiles as Ramon congratulates him on winning the world title. Michaels says it really is a dream come true and he can't wait to cement his own legacy as champion. Razor reminisces about the two men's past and says, for the most part, it was the 'Bad Guy' who managed to get the duke. Michael lets his usual cocky smirk take over and says perhaps they are due than for another match... but not tonight. Raozr agrees and says for now they get business done against the Gunns. The two shake hands and head out, as that match is NEXT! (87%) - MAIN EVENT: 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels & 'The Bad Guy' Razor Ramon vs. The Smoking Gunns A unsurprisingly great tag match here. The Gunns dominate early on as JR puts over their experience as a team and the gruelling nature of their opponents matches at Wrestlemania. Eventually the talent level of HBK and Razor sees them crawl back though and the hot tag comes to HBK. He's all over Bill y& Bart with atomic drops, clotheslines and even Razor gets into it as he sends Bart with him out of the ring. As they brawl at ringside Billy's attempt at a Rocker Dropper is dodged and HBK nails a big forearm smash. he kips up and now he's tuning up the band... but gets drilled with a steel chair! It's Diesel! Big Daddy Cool enters the ring and than hits a recovering Billy Gunn as well with the ref calling for a DQ before running away. (80/81/81) - Diesel heads outside and hits Razor and Bart before grabbing a microphone. He tells us that a historical night like Raw and he doesn't get a match? He doesn't even get an invite? He enters the ring and says people seem to be forgetting something. Forgetting that Big Daddy Cool? He's THE man in the WWF. Whoever runs Raw? It doesn't matter because deep down it's his show, it's his world, and everyone else is just living in it. He turns his attention to Michaels and sarcastically congratulates him on 'doing something it took me less than a year to accomplish' in winning the world title. He adds that unfortunately his reign will be short, because he's got HBK in his eyes and his boyhood dream... is about to become a nightmare! With that he lifts Shawn up and drills him with a Jacknife Powerbomb before posing to end the show. (86%) OVERALL - 81% Edited by Hajjhowe, Dec 1 2011, 11:27 PM.

WCW Monday Nitro April 8, 1996 Announcers: Tony Shiavone & Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan -Tony Shiavone & Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan welcomed us to Nitro, just two weeks away from the WCW annual Spring Stampede that will feature the storybook matchup of 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair defending the WCW World Title against Bret 'The Hitman' Hart! But tonight we had a lot of action including a number one contendership match and the WCW debut of Piper's Pit! -Nontitle Match: Dean Malenko vs. Taka Michinoku: Cruiserweight action with some international flavor kicked Nitro off. Malenko's title wasn't on the line against the Japanese lightweight who was making his WCW debut. Taka surprised most, especially The Brain who was busy making borderline racists jokes about Taka, as he actually got in a decent amount of offense against the Man of 1,000 holds. But the story of this match was that during the match, Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit stood at the top of the aisle and watched the match, conversing with each other about Malenko's performance during the match. This, of course, led to speculation from Schiavone that the Four Horsemen were considering Malenko as the newest addition to replace Brian Pillman. If they were looking for Malenko to impress, he did not disappoint - after a great back and forth match - Malenko caught Taka coming off the ropes and tied him up into the Texas Cloverleaf to make Michinoku tap out! (71/56/86) -After the match, Anderson and Benoit shared a few more words with one another as Malenko noticed their prescense, though he didn't seem to care that they were there. Benoit and Anderson nodded to one another and returned to the back as Malenko watched them intently. -Backstage, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund was standing by with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart to discuss defeating Arn Anderson last week to earn a shot at Ric Flair. Hart gave props to Anderson, giving him credit as a future legend in this business - but Hart said that when he says he's the best there is, was, and ever will be - he means it. And there really was no reason he should've have had to prove himself against anyone. But now that that's settled - he has his eyes set on Flair's title and it was going to bring him a lot of pleasure to make Flair tap out to the Sharpshooter. Hart was interrupted as Sister Sherri led the WCW Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat into the shot. Booker T and Stevie Ray got in Hart's face - calling him a punk sucka who thinks he can waltz into their stomping grounds and try to take over. They motioned to their title belts and told Hart that he was playing with the 'big boys' now and he won't be able to hang with the 'big boys' of WCW. Hart said that he had been a champion longer than they had been lacing up their boots and he had wrestlers in more countries than they can probably count...though he said that might not be saying much. Having their intelligence insulted - things began to get heated as Booker T and Stevie Ray looked to go after the Hitman - but The Steiner Brothers showed up to have Bret Hart's back! Bret told Harlem Heat to find themselves a third man...because he knows that himself and the Steiner Brothers were ready for some action tonight! (82%) -After the break, Tony Shaivone and The Brain revealed that it did not take long for Harlem Heat to find a partner...the tag champs would be teaming up with THE CHAMP...Ric Flair! After hearing Hart's comments - Flair had no problem teaming up with the non-Horsemen team with the thought of weakening his opponent at Spring Stampede! So a big 6 man tag was set for tonight's main event as Bret Hart would team with the Steiner Brothers to take on Ric Flair & Harlem Heat! -Marty Jannetty vs. The Barbarian: The former 'Rocker' made his WCW debut against the powerhouse Tongan - The Barbian. Jannetty was a clear cut underdog in this one - giving up size and strength to the Tongan warrior who has found himself alone since not being aquired by Raw like his partner Meng and most of the Dungeon of Doom. But he was certainly taking out his frustrations on Jannetty...giving Jannetty a slow and painful beating. Oddly enough, during the match Goldust and Marlena made their way down to the ring with a video camera. Goldust seemed to be documenting the match for reasons Schiavone and Heenan couldn't quite figure out. The Brain thought Goldust and Marlena might be sick enough that they got their jollys at watching pipsqueaks get manhandled. Nevertheless, The Barbarian seemed to be well on his way to victory when suddenly Jannetty mounted a furious comeback...as Goldust actually seemed to be cheering Jannetty on? Almost out of nowhere, Jannety hit the Rocker Dropper to Barbarian! Jannetty with the pin...One, Two, Three! Goldust handed the camera over to Marlena and gave Jannetty a round of applause at ringside before heading to the back with the cigar smoking Marlena. Jannetty was estatic over his victory...but slightly confused by Goldust's prescense. (58/53/63) -After the break, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund caught up with Goldust to figure out just what was going on out there. Goldust said that nothing sells like a good underdog story. Everyone loves to root for the underdog...and Goldust caught Marty Jannetty the ultimate underdog. He and Marlena were making him the subject of their next award winning masterpiece....whether Jannetty liked it or not. Goldust made several odd bitting gestures toward a disturbed Okerlund before leaving him possibly more confused than before the interview. (81%) -In the ring, 'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan had assembled his 3 Faces of Fear - The Giant, Mabel, and Doomsday. Sullivan reitterated his rant from last month about wanting to get The Undertaker under his power to bring destruction to all of WCW. Tonight, Sullivan revealed that at Spring Stampede - The Undertaker would be taking on The Giant in one-on-one competition. But for now, Sullivan wanted to allow The Undertaker and Paul Bearer to witness the kind of monster he will be up against at Spring Stampede... (76%) -The Bushwhackers vs. The Giant: Kevin Sullivan's massive Giant would display his power in handicap action against the comedic Bushwhackers from the WWF. Despite being a 2-on-1 advantage for the dimwittted duo - the Giant was completely dominate here. The Brain barely had any time to get in his cracks about Butch and Luke being inbred or crack on their level of intelligence. The Giant would finish them off with a Chokeslam for each man and then pin both of them with ease. (67/68/65) -As Sullivan entered the ring to proclaim his monster the victor - the lights in the arena went dim and The Undertaker appeared at the top of the aisle with Paul Bearer. Bearer warned Kevin Sullivan about what he has gotten himself into...and what Hell is about to be unleashed onto both him and anyone who gets in the Undertaker's way. The Undertaker pointed to Sullivan and the Giant and gave the slit throat motion...but Sullivan simply gave a sinister grin in the ring, unafraid of Bearer and Undertaker's scare tactics. -After a commercial break, the ring was set up for the WCW debut of Piper's Pit as hosted by Rowdy Roddy Piper. Piper came out first to some decent cheers before taking the microphone and rambling on for a bit about coming to WCW before turning his attention to his guest tonight...a man who needed no introduction. None other than 'The macho Man' Randy Savage! OOOOHHH YEAH! The Macho Man made his way down to a big pop from the crowd. Piper and Savage shook hands and Savage was a little disappointed that he was left out of the title picture going into Spring Stampede...but Bret Hart is the 'flavor of the month' since he's the new guy coming in from a buried company. But Savage promised that he would be back in the title hunt in no time. The interview was interrupted as Arn Anderson, Chris Benoit, and Woman made their way down to the ring to boos from the crowd. Anderson climbed into the ring and expressed to Savage that he was here to talk, not to fight. Savage asked if Flair sent his cronies to do his dirty work for him. Anderson shook his head and explained that he was here to talk business. He said that Savage and Flair had seen a lot of action against each other in the past, and they know a true champion when they see one. That's why they were hoping to discuss an opening in the Horsemen that might just have Savage's name on it. Savage looked around to the crowd who urged him not to even consider the offer. Piper chimed in, asking where his invitation was. Anderson retorted that they just got rid of one 'headcase' and that they didn't need another. 'Fair enough' Piper responded. -Before Savage could give a response one way or the other - 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett and 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig made their way down to the ring one after the other. They both wanted to state their case again, while also insulting Savage as being past his prime - Jarrett in particular asserted that he was a 'young stallion' that the Horsemen needed. Anderson asked them to calm down, that just because they were out there to discuss it with Savage doesn't mean it was a final offer. They still had a lot of thinking to do. But Savage stepped in, stating he could make their decision easier...but before Savage could decline the offer - Anderson interrupted him and handed him a small business card. Anderson told Savage to take a look at that card and give it some thought...don't make any decisions without sleeping on them. Anderson nodded to Jarrett and Hennig before leaving the ring. Piper also headed out while Savage looked down at the card Arn had handed him. Meanwhile, Perfect and Jarrett conversed with each other...and suddenly attacked Savage from behind! Hennig and Jarrett put the boots to Savage before Jarrett pulled Savage up and decked him with a right hand that sent him stumbling into Hennig...PERFECT PLEX! The crowd booed as Hennig and Jarrett left Savage lying in the middle of the ring. (81%) -Number One Contendership Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Ultimo Dragon: More international flavor in the Cruiserweight Division as this match would determine who would get a shot at Dean Malenko's Cruiserweight Title NEXT week on Nitro! This one topped Malenko's match earlier in the night as Guerrero and Dragon complimented each other to a tee. They went back and forth and began to draw the crowd in with their high flying offense. But eventually it was Eddie Guerrero picking up the win here with his patented Frogsplash for the three count victory. (77/62/92) -'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay vs. Disco Inferno: The tough Irishman Fit Finlay showcased his hard hitting offense against the dancing Disco Inferno in what was a pretty one-sided affair as Finlay controled most of the offense in this one. Finlay would finish off his impressive outting with a kneeling piledriver that Schiavone said was called the Celtic Driver to give Finlay a big singles victory. (57/40/75) -After the match, applause could be heard as Lord Steven Regal led the Blue Bloods down to the ring. Finlay glared at Regal as he climbed into the ring. Regal took the microphone and admited that he was impressed with what he has witnessed in the ring...and Regal mentioned Finlay's European roots, hoping to recruit the Belfast Bruiser to join the ranks of the Blue Blood. Finlay laughed and said that he's not here to kiss someone's butt or bow before anyone...he's Irish...he came here for two reasons...he came to drink and he came to fight! And since there's no booze around...he'll settle for...FIGHTING! Finlay laid out Regal with a big right hand that sent a wave of cheers through the crowd. David Taylor and Robert Eaton tried to help out, but Finlay laid them out as well! Finlay rolled out of the ring and headed up the aisle victorious, leaving the Blue Bloods licking their wounds in the ring. (72%) -MAIN EVENT: Bret Hart & The Steiner Brothers vs. Ric Flair & Harlem Heat: Champions on one side against challengers at Spring Stampede on the other. Both sides had something to prove here and the crowd was into watching a preview of things to come. We even got to see some Hart/Flair action briefly, but their time in the ring with one another was rightfully limited. Rick Steiner found himself in trouble for a while int he match as Harlem Heat and Flair made him their personal whipping boy as they tried to put the faces away. However, the crowd brought him back into the match and he got the tag to Hart who came in and immediately took the action to Booker T while Ric Flair didn't seem too interested in getting the tag. In fact, he would eventually pack up his things and leave - apparently changing his tune saying Harlem Heat was not the Horsemen and he should have known better than to team with them! This left Stevie Ray and Booker T alone against the triple threat of The Steiner Brothers and Bret Hart! Hart would tag Scott Steiner after laying out Booker T with a swinging neckbreaker. Scott and Rick double clotheslined Stevie Ray out of the ring before lifting Booker T up onto Scott's shoulder...flying bulldog from Rick Steiner! Scott made the cover on Booker - One, Two, Three! (81/81/82) -The show came to a close as Bret Hart & The Steiner Brothers celebrated with one another in the ring as Flair watched on from the aisle. Overall - 73% Current Spring Stampede Card -WCW World Championship Match: 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair vs. Bret 'The Hitman' Hart -WCW Tag Championship Match: Harlem Heat (c) vs. The Steiner Brothers -The Undertaker vs. The Giant |

Raw Saturday Night April 13, 1996 Announcers: Jim Ross & Jerry 'The King' Lawler - Raw opens with the WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels already in the ring. HBK says it's real simple. Last week should have been a celebration, the culmination of a career's work and a time for him and the 'Clique' to party like only Raw fans can! Instead, his old buddy Diesel has to run out and ruin it. So tonight, he's not backing down. He's not staying away... he wants Diesel right now! He waits for a bit but their is no reply as HBK says that if Big Daddy Cool really wants attention, he's offering him a platform right here and right now. After a longer break Michaels promises to grab his attention, one way or the other! (81%) - After the official Raw intro we come back with the 1-2-3 Kid and Ted DiBiase heading to the ring. DiBiase has the mic and says that in the ring right now is a long time WWF veteran, Scott Taylor. He let's us know that Taylor is looking for his big break. He's looking for a shot at 5 thousand big ones... but he's going one better. He's DOUBLING the prize and will add another 5 grand every week until someone can beat the Kid! Kid seems calm as ever and he is almost dismissive of his opponent as the bell sounds. (88%) - 5,000$ Challenge - 1-2-3 Kid w/ Ted DiBiase vs. Scott Taylor This is a solid contest as Taylor manages a little offence early, but eventually he's outclassed by the Kid who drills him with his educated feet and tops him off after a few minutes with his dreaded 1-2-3 Kick. (72/66/78) - Backstage before his title defense, as Todd Pettingail is with Johnny B. Badd. He asks the obvious question, his thoughts on last weeks attack from Jerry Lawler. Badd says it's a shame. He has a lot of respect for the veterans of the ring, but Lawler insulted him and his title. He tells Todd that the King can pretend he's some sort of WWF cursader, but deep down he knows he's just a selfish fool looking to take Johnny's gold! Badd says he isn't going to let that happen though. Not to Lawler, and not to his opponent Justin 'The Hawk' Bradshaw either. (75%) - WCW Television Title: Johnny B. Badd (c) vs. Justin 'The Hawk' Bradshaw Lawler praises Bradshaw all match long and the big Texan does well in tossing around Badd and bullying him with his brute strength. Eventually though Badd fights back with some nice boxing style jabs before hitting a big hurricarana. After a few minutes of evenly paced offense from both sides it's a missed clothesline from Bradshaw that allows Badd to his a big left hook. From there he heads up top and nails the Badd Day moonsault for the three. As he celebrates with his title however, the King leaves the announce desk and attacks from behind with another low blow! The King is heard saying that Badd and 'garbage' like him don't belong in the WWF and he will make sure to drive him out no matter what the cost! (70/68/73) - Backstage now and we see the representative for WCW's board of directors Eric Bischoff. He's talking to a stage hand when Billy & Bart Gunn walk up to him. The duo demand some justice, saying that Diesel ruined their main event last week and ended a chance for them to prove they can hang with the best! Billy is particularly vocal and demands a match with Diesel! Bischoff agrees and says that Diesel is here tonight, and he'll face both Billy & Bart in the main event! He just hopes that Big Daddy Cool can find a partner. (82%) - We go back to the ring and out steps Hulk Hogan to a massive pop. He soaks in the cheers and looks to be in decen tshape despite last weeks beating. he grabs a mic and says he doesn't have much to say. He wants that big doofus Vader to head down that ailse and take him on, face to face, like a MAN. Cue the Dungeon of Doom theme and out steps the stable. Jimmy Hart says he can tell Hulk is mad but... he won't get Vader. Not tonight. The Mastadon doesn't feel like crushing him so instead he can take on the 'Laughing Man' Hugh Morrus! Morrus looks thrilled, although commentary say he won't be happy when an angry Hogan gets his hands on him next! (100%) - 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan vs. 'The Laughing Man' Hugh Morrus w/ The Dungeon Of Doom This is pretty one way traffic, with Hugh only sticking around thanks to liberal interference. Eventually however Hogan starts to 'Hulk Up' and that's the cue for the other Doomers to come in. They can't handle a Huked up Hogan though, and he hands out soup bones and even clothesline Vader right out of the ring! He than points at the Mastadon and nails a big Leg Drop on Morrus sending a clear message. Hulk Hogan isn't afraid! (73/77/66) - Backstage now as we see WCW castoff Diamond Dallas Page. He's in the interview pit and tells us he's in the north looking to make an impact. The New Jersey native says that in WCW he was never given his fair shot. No matter of good he was, and he was GREAT, he didn't get a fair shake at the top men in the company. Probably because if they tried to take him on, they'd end up feeling... the... BANG! He goes to continue, but onto the scene steps Kimberly, the former Bootybabe and Diamond Doll. She says that she and DDP have a long history, but she wants to ask him a request. DDP smirks and says he knew she'd come crawling back. He assumes she's bored of the Clipper and wants to get with a REAL man. Kimberly says that isn't the case. In fact she wants to let DDP know that Brutus wants him one on one next week on Raw! Page ponders it a little and asks what's in it for him? He wants some kind of reward as he eyes her suggestively. Kim asks what he had in mind and he says if he wins the 'Doll' has to go out on a date with him! She agrees on one condition. If Brutus wins... he gets to shave DDP's head! Page looks shocked but eventually agrees, telling Kimberly to make sure she gets a nice dress ready for their big date in a few weeks. (81%) - MAIN EVENT: Diesel & ??? vs. The Smoking Gunns After the Gunns entrance, Diesel does step out. He waits for awhile but is eventually joined by Sycho Sid. He nods at DiBiase as JR speculates that Big Daddy Cool probably paid for Sid's services here. These 4 have a good match with the monster heels tossing the Gunns around early on and isolating Billy. After an extended heat segment we get a hot tag and Bart shows off his moves including an impressive delayed suplex on Diesel. After some more back and forth there seems to be some commotion at ringisde and we see why, it's Razor Ramon! The 'Bad Guy' hops over the ring barricade and stares down Diesel who is distracted. He turns around after this but all he gets is SWEET CHIN MUSIC! The ref calls for the bell as Razor slides in and Sid jumps into the mix as it's a donnybrook! (81/80/83) - As the 4 men brawl Eric Bischoff and security rush out. Bischoff says he needs to keep control. If these 4 want to go at it so bad they can next week in a live tag team match on Raw! The fans pop big time as HBK and Razor taunt a still dazed Diesel to end the show. (92%) Overall - 82 |

Not to be a nitpicker, but Scott Taylor was nowhere close to a longtime WWF wrestler in 1996.. he wasn't even signed to an official contract until 1997 >_> He was just an enhancement talent who wrestled every once in a while during college. |

WCW Monday Nitro April 15, 1996 Announcers: Tony Shiavone & Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan -A recap from last week's Nitro kicked us off as we review the race for the 'Fourth' Horseman position and the decision Randy Savage has to make. Could Savage really join forces with his long time nemesis Ric Flair? Tonight - Savage makes his decision known! Tony Shiavone and Bobby Heenan discuss this to open the show and how there are other people in the runnign as well...including WCW Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko! -Almost on cue, 'The Man of 1,000 Hold's' Dean Malenko made his way down to the ring to defend the Cruiserweight Championship against the man who earned a title shot last week, Eddie Guerrero. But before the match, Dean Malenko took the microphone. He sternly told us that despite being watched last week by Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit - Malenko did not want to be in consideration for the spot in the Four Horsemen. Don't get him wrong - he understands the history, the importance, and the prestige of the group - but the Iceman is not one for factions and prefers to do things on his own and his own way. That's the way it's always been, and that's the way it's going to stay. He hoped no offense was taken - but the other guys could fight over it - he had more important things to worry about, like defending the WCW Cruiserweight Title! (67%) -WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Dean Malenko (c) vs. Eddie Guerrero: Schiavone and Heenan spent a lengthy portion of this match discussing how surprising it was for someone like Malenko to turn down the consideration of the Four Horsemen - and Heenan called it downright stupid. But Malenko is anything but stupid in the ring - as he began the match cold and calculated as he worked over his number one contender Eddie Guerrero. Eddie fought back against Malenko and made it an entertaining match with the champion, but ultimately we would not get a clear cut winner her - as Malenko went for the Texas Cloverleaf - Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit hit the ring and attacked Malenko from behind, drawing the disqualification! Anderson and Benoit sent Guerrero packing from the ring as well as they showed they didn't take kindly to having people give them the cold shoulder! (75/69/82) -Arn Anderson and Benoit continued their beating to Dean Malenko, with Anderson driving Malenko into the mat with his Spinebuster. The crowd came to their feet as 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage rushed down to the ring! Savage apparently gave us an answer as he decked Benoit with a clothesline and then unleashed some right hands to Arn Anderson and sent him over the top rope to the floor! Randy Savage took the microphone and simply said that 'There's your answer, Horsemen! OOOOOHHHH YEAAAHHH!" Savage played up to the crowd in the ring while Anderson and Benoit regrouped up the aisle. (93%) -'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay vs. Earl Robert Eaton (w/The Blue Bloods): After turning down the chance to join his fellow 'Europeans' in the Blue Bloods - Fit Finlay found himself in a one-on-one competition as Earl Robet Eaton tried to exact some revenge and show Finlay he made the wrong choice. This was a bit of a 'warmup' for things to come as Schiavone explained to us that at Spring Stampede, Finlay would be squaring off against Lord Steven Regal himself. Regal was barking out commands to Eaton at ringside, hoping Eaton could wear Finlay down some for Spring Stampede - but ultimately it was no use. Finlay was too much for Eaton and Finlay finished him off with the Celtic Driver for the decisive victory! (67/59/76) -After the match, The Belfast Bruiser was hoping to get Regal into the ring for a preview of things to come, but Regal was not interested. Instead, he was more interested in pulling Eaton to ringside and giving him an earful on his disappointment in him. -Backstage, The Four Horsemen were in dissary after having Randy Savage turn them down and WCW Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko also outright said he wasn't interested. Ric Flair tried to restore order, but informing Chris Benoit that he needed to make Savage regret that decision, TONIGHT in singles action! Benoit smirked and flexed his knuckles showing his prepration. Woman returned to the locker room with 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig and 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett in tow. Flair welcomed the aspiring Horsemen with handshakes and told them each would have their chance to prove their worthy to the Horsemen. Tonight, 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett would step into the ring with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart - and Flair would be 'very grateful' if Jarrett could soften his challenger up for Spring Stampede. And speaking of Spring Stampede - Flair wanted to know if Hennig had been cleared to wrestle. Hennig nodded affirmatively. Flair informed Hennig that at Spring Stampede, he would be taking on whatever was left of Randy Savage after Chris Benoit was finished with him. Hennig shook Flair's hand and told him he would not let him down. (93%) -The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) vs. Mabel (w/'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan): At Spring Stampede, The Undertaker would be tkaing on The Taskmaster's Faces of Fear monster The Giant...but for tonight, it was another one of the Faces of Fear looking to do some damage to the Dead Man. Mabel and Taker went back and forth, but whatever Mabel threw at Taker, Taker just kept sitting up and coming back for more. Sullivan kept his eye on Paul Bearer and the urn during the match, making it clear what his intentions would be at Spring Stampede. The slow brawl came to a close as Undertaker was setting up the mammoth Mabel for the Tombstone, only to have The Giant and Doomsday come from the back and attacked Undertaker from behind! The 7 foot duo double teamed Undertaker and hit him with a double Chokeslam! Mabel joined in on the attack, hitting a standing splash to the fallen Undertaker! Kevin Sullivan would lead the 3 Faces of Fear from the ring - thinking the damage had been done for Spring Stampede...but once they go to the top of the aisle - The Undertaker sat up! Kevin Sullivan snarled as once again, The Undertaker cannot be kept down! (77/83/64) -Backstage, Goldust and Marlena were standing by with Marty Jannetty and 'Mean' Gene Okerlund. Goldust called Marty Jannety his 'muse' and that with his and Marlena's help - Jannetty was going to be a STAR. Jannetty ultimately seemed disinterested in Goldust's help, claiming he was a star as a Rocker and will be a star again. Goldust asked what Jannetty had done since the Rockers? Jannetty stumbled for an answer...and Goldust asked what Jannetty's partner, what was his name again...oh yes, Shawn Michaels. What has he been up to? Jannetty had no response. Goldust said Jannetty needs all the help he can get, and should be GRATEFUL for it. Goldust said the crowd will be eatting out of the palm of his hand. Jannetty is the ultimate underdog...and he's going to build around that concept! That's why Goldust has lined up a BRILLIANT match for Spring Stampede! Marty Jannetty will be going one on one with...The Faces Of Fear's DOOMSDAY! Jannetty did not seem to happy with this announcement, having just witnessed Doomsday and The Giant lay out The Undertaker with their double chokeslam. Jannetty shook his head in frustration and stormed past Goldust. (86%) -'The Macho Man' Randy Savage vs. Chris Benoit (w/Woman): After giving the Horsemen his answer earlier in the night, Benoit was looking to exact some revenge for the Horsemen against Savage. The young Benoit showed that he was not going to be taken lightly against a former World Champion - as he went move for move with Savage, and actually had the former champion on the ropes several times. The crowd solidly backed Savage and motivated him to mount a furious comeback against the tenacious Benoit, coming back against Benoit and hit him with an atomic drop followed by a lariat to lay out Benoit. Benoit come back, and Savage laid Benoit out with a vertical suplex. Savage went up top, signaling for the Atomic Elbow Drop, but Benoit came back and pulled Savage's legs out from under him! Benoit climbed the ropes and began hooking Savage for a superplex...but Savage blocked it! Savage hit several right hands to Benoit and sent him flying off the top rope to the mat! FLYING ELBOW! One, Two, Three! (84/83/86) -After the match, Woman helped Benoit up at ringside as Macho Man celebrated on the turnbuckles for the fans. -Scott Steiner (w/Rick Steiner) vs. Stevie Ray (w/Booker T & Sister Sherri): In a preview of the tag title match at Spring Stampede, one half of each brother's team faced off - here Stevie Ray used his brother's prescense at ringside to help give him the advantage - but Rick was there to try and help even the odds. All four of these men have developed some good chemistry in the ring with one another from their multiples matches...and as a result, they bring out the best in one another during their matches. Steiner fought back against Stevie Ray with multiple suplexes, but ultimately - Booker T distracted the ref long enough for Stevie Ray to hit a low blow followed by the 110th Street Slam! Stevie Ray hooked the leg - One, Two, Three! (76/73/80) -Booker T and Stevie Ray left the ring with the tag titles with Sister Sherri before Rick Steiner could retaliate. Rick argued with the ref over the interference before helping his brother to his feet. -Backstage, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund & 'The Professor' Mike Tenay were standing by to hype up and give some analysis of the Spring Stampede line up. *In a rematch from tonight's contest, Eddie Guerrero will challenge Dean Malenko for the WCW Cruiserweight Title! Eddie's shot was ruined by the Horsemen - will Malenko be able to hold off Guerrero to retain the title? *As we just found out, Goldust is attempting to build up Marty Jannetty...and by doing so, he has had him booked against The 3 Faces of Fear's own Doomsday. Goldust may be trying to make Jannetty a star...but he may have sealed his death certificate! *Lord Steven Regal fights for the 'honor' of the Blue Bloods against 'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay. *Harlem Heat defends the WCW Tag Team Championships against The Steiner Brothers. Can the Steiner Brothers take back the titles and become 4 time tag team champions? *'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan looks to dominate and destroy WCW...and he wants to use The Undertaker to do so. But first he has to go through The Undertaker...and that's what he will be looking to do as he sends The Giant into action against The Undertaker at Spring Stampede! Will the Dead Man continue to be untouchable in WCW action? *After giving the Horsemen a big 'NO' to joining, Randy Savage has taken care of Chris Benoit...but there's still a couple of folks hoping to get on Flair's goodside. So it will be 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig squaring off against 'The Macho Man' - but Tenay revealed a new addition to this match...'Double J' Jeff Jarrett has been named the special guest referee! 'The Professor' wondered who on the WCW Board of Director's was booking these matches and how much Flair paid them! *And speaking of Flair - in the main event - it has to be considered a mat technician's dream match - former World Champion Bret 'The Hitman' Hart will challenge for the WCW World Championship against 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair! Tenay said that that match alone was worth the price of admission. Okerlund and Tenay did some more hard selling before kicking it back to the ring. (85%) -MAIN EVENT: Bret 'The Hitman' Hart vs. 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett: Big Spring Stampede and Four Horsemen implications here as Jarrett was looking to soften Hart up for his 'mentor' Flair and gain some good grace with the Horsemen. As a result, Jarrett brought his 'A-Game' tonight against Bret Hart. The crowd gave Jarrett tons of heel heat as he worked over Hart's legs for a good majority of the match, even managing to lock in his own version of the 'Figure Four' to Bret Hart. Hart would not give in however, and made it to the ropes to break up the submission. The crowd got behind Hart and rallied him to a comeback as he too began to work the legs. Jarrett tried to limp to safety at ringside, but Hart gave chase! As the match began to get out of hand at ringside - 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig came out of nowhere and connected with a chairshot to Bret's back, drawing the immediate disqualification! (85/87/83) Hennig looked to do some more damage to Hart, but Jarrett was not too happy about having the match end so abruptly. He and Hennig got into a war of the words...before Jarrett snatched the chair from Hennig as Hart was starting to get up...and Jarrett connected with a chairshot to Hart! Jarrett pointed to Hart and said that HE was going to be the one to do this for Flair. Hennig and Jarrett took turns working over Hart as Ric Flair walked from the back and watched on with a smile on his face. Nitro came to a close as Flair watched his challenger at Spring Stampede being done in by Jarrett and Hennig. OVERALL - 81% |

Raw Saturday Night April 20, 1996 Announcers: Jim Ross & Jerry 'The King' Lawler - 5,000$ Challenge: 1-2-3 Kid w/ Ted DiBiase vs. 'Nasty Boy' Brian Knobbs This is a surprisingly solid bout with Kid letting the Nasty Boy get in a lot more offense than you would expect. Still, he's the ultimate winner here as he makes a late comeback and eventually wins with his dreaded 1-2-3 Kick. (72/73/73) - We are now treated to a little mic time for Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon. HBK speaks first as he says it's a chance for Diesel and Sid to make a statement. To get a win over the top two guys in the WORLD right now. But, HBK doesn't plan on losing. He promises that with the Klique behind him, there is no way the two tall 'dopes' who'll be opposite him in the ring can win. Razor chimes in now and tells us that 'Da Bad Guy' doesn't like being disrespected. Diesel thoughts he'd make a name for himself off of Ramon, but now he was going to suffer at his hands just like the 'good old days'. The promo ends with both men vowing to make 'Big Daddy Cool' and his hired heavy pay in the main event! (89%) After this we are backstage where Todd Pettengill is standing by with Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake and the lovely Kimberly. Todd asks if the Beefcake is nervous ahead of his huge date vs. hair match tonight. Brutus says he is feeling more confident than ever with the lovely Kimberly by his side and he knows all of the fans out here came to see him struttin' and cuttin'... and they'll see a whole LOT of cuttin' when he's done with DDP! Kimberly chimes in now saying that Page needs to learn a lesson in respect. She isn't an object who can be owned. Tonight her client Brutus is going to teach him a lesson in humility when he shaves those golden locks right off of Page's head! (83%) - The Shark w/ The Dungeon Of Doom vs. 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan The Shark's storied history (Mostly as Earthquake) is showed before we begin this bout. Hogan let's the big Shark get some offense in as these two have a surprisingly good wrestling match. The crowd is of course going nuts for Hogan and ater Shark uses his size early, the great white is helpless as Hogan hulks up and even manages an impressive bodyslam! As he prepares to add more damage though he's suddenly attack by One Man Gang for the obvious DQ! As OMG tries to continue, some music hits and out runs everyone's 4th to 6th favorite face painted warrior The Renegade rushes out. He helps his idol Hogan fight their opponents off as the Doom are once again left cursing at ringside before WCW rep Eric Bischoff steps out. (78/82/70) - Bischoff says that in light of the proceeding match, next week will see Hulk Hogan team with The Renegade against The Dungeon Of Dooms Shark and One Man Gang! The crowd are hyped as Jimmy Hart starts talking his his charges at ringside. (80%) - Backstage now and this time Todd is with Diamond Dallas Page. DDP is combing his hair with a big smile as Todd asks if he's afraid this could be his last night with his golden locks. DDP laughs it off and says that Beefcake may have a 'rep' as a tough guy... but Page is the best in the business and soon he's going to show Kim that he's also the best DATE in the business after he takes out Brutus! (76%) WCW World Television Championship: Johnny B. Badd (c) vs. Avatar The mysterious ninja has a very good match here, as both men seem to mesh well. Avatar is allowed a lot of offense including a stiff series of trapped headbutts and an impressive moonsault. In the end though Badd nails a big left hook and seems poised for victory when Lawler finally snaps on commentary and slides into the ring, hitting a big low blow for the DQ. (67/50/84) The fans boo as Lawler grabs a mic. He yells that Johnny doesn't belong. He should have a title in the WWF before Lawler. He didn't even beat a WWF Superstar! He tells Badd that he wants to make him pay, and as such he'll be hand picking an opponent for Badd next week in the hopes that man can wrestle the TV title into WWF hands. Lawler spikes his mic and leaves as Badd recovers in the ring, looking enraged. (74%) Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake w/ Kimberly vs. Diamond Dallas Page This is a very even contest and DDP does a great job carrying a lot of the bout and making Beefacake's offense look good. He still gets in his licks tough including a big russian leg sweep and a big titlt-a-whirl slam for two. Eventually he calls for the Diamond Cutter but Kimberly is on the apron. She tries to distract him but DDP isn't fooled and Beefcake's sneak attack is dodged. Brutus just manages to stop himself from sending Kim off the apron, but when he turns he is drilled with a Diamond Cutter! The crowd boo as DDP covers for the three and he smirks at Kimberly who looks totally shocked at ringside. (76/77/76) - We get a shot of Diesel and Sid talking backstage (Although we can't hear them). Their tag match is NEXT! (74%) MAIN EVENT: Diesel & Sycho Sid w/ Ted DiBiase vs. 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels & 'The Bad Guy' Razor Ramon These 4 put on a very good match as Ramon and Michaels sell well for the twin power houses. Diesel is particularly nasty hitting a big side slam and some stiff elbows in the corner that rock Razor. Michaels it he face in peril though and makes the hot tag to big Razor who hands out spinning punches and an impressive fallawya slam on Sid. This fifteen minute bout eventually comes down to Diesel and HBK and after dominating Mihcaels hits his signature flying forearm and starts tuning up the band. DiBiase tries to get involved but Mihcaels grabs him. Before he can do anything though Diesel runs in and drills him with a big boot! Totally stunned the distraction allows Diesel too hook him up and nail the Jacknife for 3! Diesel has just pinned the world champion! (83/87/77) OVERALL - 77% |

WCW Nitro Presents... SPRING STAMPEDE April 21, 1996 Announcers: Tony Shiavone, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan, and 'The Professor' Mike Tenay -Our three man announce team welcomed us to Spring Stampede - the first Nitro exclusive Pay-Per-View since the acquisition of WWF. They hyped up tonight's card which was headlined by a 'dream' matchup as "The Nature Boy' Ric Flair was defending the WCW Title against Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. But there was plenty of other exciting matchups tonight as well, plus we are expected to find out who the fourth Horsemen will be! -WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: 'The Man of 1,000 Holds' Dean Malenko (c) vs. Eddie Guerrero: After their match on Nitro was ended thanks to interference from the Horsemen - Eddie Guerrero got another crack at Dean Malenko's Cruiserweight Title. The duo topped their match from Nitro with another good outting. Malenko was receiving a fair amount of cheers as a result of his denial of the Horsemen...and he and Eddie Guerrero displayed their mutual respect prior to the match with a handshake. Malenko tried to slow Eddie down and ground him, but Eddie kept fighting back against Malenko's offense. Guerrero made the mistake of trying to match Malenko on the mat, and ultimately this cost him...as Malenko managed to tie up Guerrero into the Texas Cloverleaf and turn Eddie over. Eddie fought with all his strength - and almost made it to the ropes, but Malenko pulled him back to the center of the ring to get the tap out from Eddie! With the submission victory, Dean Malenko retained the WCW Cruiserweight Championship! (77/71/83) -After the match, Guerrero slowly recovered to his feet and showed more respect for Malenko as he patted him on the back and lifted up Malenko's arm in victory. They shook hands once again before Guerrero left the ring to cheers for his good sportsmanship. -Backstage, 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig was warming up for his big match against 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. Arn Anderson walked into the locker room and shook Hennig's hand. They exchanged pleasantries as Hennig wanted to know about their decision tonight. Anderson seemed to imply to Hennig that he might just be the 'perfect' choice after all. But they still want to see how he does against Savage tonight. Hennig promised that he would not dissapoint. -'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay vs. Lord Steven Regal (w/The Blue Bloods): The crowd hasn't quite bought into Finlay yet, but the longer this match went - the more the fans got into it. Regal and Finlay have amazing chemistry in the ring with one another as they put on a clinic that was full of VERY stiff shots from both men. The biggest obstacle standing in the way of Finlay's victory here was Squire David Taylor and Earl Robert Eaton at ringside, constantly sticking their nose into the match to help out Regal. As a result of their interference, Finlay saw victory escape him several times when he thought Regal was done for. With Eaton distracting the referee, Taylor slid in some brass knuckles to Regal who slid them on just as Regal lifted him up for the Celtic Driver...but Regal connected with a shot of the brass knux to Finlay's head! Both men fell to the mat, but Finlay was out cold! Regal took advantage, locking in the Regal Stretch. The referee saw that Finlay was unconscious in the submission hold...and called for the bell! Regal was awarded the victory! (82/71/93) -Steve 'Mongo' McMichael & 'The Pearl River Powerhouse' Ahmed Johnson (w/Debra McMichael) vs. Chris Benoit & 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson (w/Woman): Former football star Steve 'Mongo' McMichael left the announce booth in early 1996 and we were informed by 'The Professor' Mike Tenay that during that time he has been busy training at the WCW Power Plant in order to become a full time wrestler. Well, all his hard work has led to his in-ring debut tonight as he teams up with another man making his in-ring WCW debut, 'The Pearl River Powerhouse' of former WWF-fame, Ahmed Johnson. From the get go, Mongo and Ahmed seemed to have trouble teaming with one another and spent most of the match arguing with Ahmed. The crowd began to get tired of Mongo's antics during the match and started to give him the heel treatment. Meanwhile, Benoit and Anderson were fluid as the Horsemen always are teaming with one another. Eventually, Debra McMichael would attempt to help out her husband's team as she climbed on the apron to distract the referee...but Anderson whipped Johnson into the ropes with such force that it knocked Debra off the apron to the floor! Debra appeared to be hurt on the fall, so Mongo went down to help out his wife. Meanwhile, Ahmed Johnson had come off the ropes and ducked Anderson's clothesline and hit The Enforcer with one of his own. Johnson looked for the tag, but found no Mongo! Benoit came in with a German Suplex to Johnson! Benoit and Anderson used the numbers to their advantage and soon Anderson put Ahmed Johnson away with the Spinebuster for the three count! (75/76/75) -After the match, Benoit and Anderson left victorious as Ahmed Johnson and Steve McMichael argued while Debra struggled to hold herself up, holding her neck in pain. -Marty Jannetty vs. Doomsday (w/'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan): In a match put together by Goldust - Marty Jannetty tried to live up to Goldust's billing of him as the ultimate underdog by taking on the former evil dentist, now just evil, Doomsday. Goldust and Marlena came to ringside, with Marlena taking a seat in her director's seat at ringside as Goldust filmed the match. Jannetty struggled mightly against the monster Doomsday. Jannetty's speed did him little favors against Doomsday, who basically no-sold any offense Jannetty had to offer. Despite Goldust's constant words of 'encouragement' from ringside, Doomsday was much too much for Jannetty, and a Tombstone Piledriver put Janetty away for the count. (68/63/74) -Backstage, 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig walked in on 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett who was decked out in his referee outfit as the big Savage/Hennig match was up next. Hennig wanted to get things straight with Jarrett, because he was the referee tonight and they both wanted the spot in the Horsemen. Hennig said that he hoped there would be no hard feelings one way or the other, no matter what decision is made tonight. Hennig smirked as he said it, as if he knew the outcome already. Jarrett said that he could 'COUNT' on it, laughing at his own referee pun. Hennig walked out of the locker room and shook his head, mocking Jarrett before heading to the ring. -'Macho Man' Randy Savage (w/Elizabeth) vs. 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig (Special Referee: 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett): The crowd was electric for this match up, as Randy Savage had some huge crowd support while Hennig and Jarrett both received loud boos from the crowd. In what was an excellent back and forth match between Hennig and Savage - Savage quickly confirmed any thoughts he had about Jarrett not calling a clean fight. Jarrett clearly was favoring 'Mr. Perfect' in this one - not letting Savage get anything close to a nearfall during most of the match - while Hennig was getting clear advantageous 'quick' counts. But Savage was resiliant and fought back despite Jarrett's shady officiating. As the match wore on - Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit made their way down to the ring. Savage exchanged words with Arn Anderson, allowing Hennig to take control of the match once again. Hennig would end up hitting a blatant low blow to Savage and hitting the PERFECTPLEX to Savage! One...Two..Thre....Benoit pulled Jarrett out of the ring! Schiavone demanded to know what was going on - as did Hennig as Anderson climbed into the ring while Benoit and Jarrett had a shoving contest at ringside. Anderson and Hennig argued as Savage was getting up...but Anderson turned and hit a SPINEBUSTER to Savage! Hennig smirked as he joined in - putting the boots to Savage. But suddenly, Jarrett was in the ring with his acoustic guitar in hand...he spun Hennig around...GUITAR SHOT to Hennig! Anderson and Benoit looked shocked...but their surprised looks quickly faded to big smiles as Anderson reached out and shook Jarrett's hand! The trio stood tall in the ring over Savage and Perfect while Elizabeth looked concerned at ringside. It appeared this match would have no decisive finish. (88/89/86) -Arn Anderson took the microphone and formally introduced the newest member of the Four Horsemen - Jeff Jarrett! Anderson hyped up Jarrett as a young star in WCW and with the Horsemen by his side, he would be sitting atop WCW alongside Flair in no time at all - just like the rest of the Horsemen. Anderson promised that Flair would walk out the night STILL WCW Champion, and the Four Horsemen will be riding high as the WCW elite. (95%) WCW Tag Team Championships Match: Harlem Heat (c) (w/Sister Sherri) vs. The Steiner Brothers: Another quality match tonight as these two teams put on another great match in their long line of good matches. The crowd was itching to see the titles change hands here - but Booker T, Stevie Ray, and even Sister Sherri were going to do anything within their power to make sure that did not happen. The Steiner Brothers started the match out very hot and took firm control until Sister Sherri stuck her nose into the match - allowing Stevie Ray to overpower Scott Steiner and isolate him from his brother. Booker T and Stevie Ray took turns working over Scott while Rick Steiner urged his brother one and worked on keeping the crowd into the match, hoping to rally Scott back to his feet. Eventually, Booker T would go for a Harlem Sidekick, only to have Steiner duck and deck Booker With Steinerline! Scott made the hot tag to Rick who came in with dog barks to clean house of both members of Harlem Heat. Booker T found himself being lifted up into a shoulder lift by Scott Steiner, but Stevie Ray attacked from behind to break it up before Rick could come off the top with the bulldog! Stevie Ray tossed Scott Steiner over the top rope to the floor! But Steiner landed on his feet, unbeknown to Stevie Ray! Stevie turned around and bounced off the ropes, only to have Steiner grab him by the legs, trip him up, and pull him to ringside! Booker and Rick were left alone in the ring...Rick went for a bulldog, but Booker reversed it into a back suplex! Booker went for the 110th Street Slam, but Scott Steiner made the save! Rick recovered and they teamed up as Rick lifted up Booker and Scott climbed to the top - STEINER DEVICE! Rick with the cover - One, Two, Three! We have new tag team champions! (72/76/86) -After the match - The Steiner Brothers stuck around to celebrate with the tag titles in the ring and then out of the ring, high fiving fans along the way. -The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) vs. The Giant (w/'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan): It was a clash of the titans as these two massive monsters stepped into the ring with one another. The Giant and Undertaker started the match fof with a staredown that quickly escolated into a slugfest. The two monsters went back and forth as Kevin Sullivan spent most of the match stalking Paul Bearer around ringside while Bearer clutched to the urn with all his might. This was about as good as a slow brawl could be, as The Undertaker kept coming back against everything The Giant threw at him. Sullivan wanted more punishment - but The Undertaker kept sitting up and coming back for more. The crowd rallied behind Taker as he began to unleash a flurry of punches to The Giant - rocking the big man before Taker took him down with a big boot! Taker seemed to be taking control of the match, but the two monsters could not be contained in the ring. They spilled out to ringside where the all out brawl continued as The Giant began to fight back. The two seemed to only care about destroying one another - and paid no attention to the fact that they were being counted out! The referee reached the ten count and called for the bell - ending the match in a double countout! (84/90/71) -After the bell had rung, no one seemed to care the match was over as Undertaker and Giant continued to battle. Kevin Sullivan tried to help out his monster, but Taker shoved him to the ground! Mabel and Doomsday came down the aisle, looking to make it a 3 on 1 on the Undertaker, but when Paul Bearer pointed this out to Taker - Undertaker lifted up his arms and all the lights in the arena went out! When they came back on - The Undertaker and Paul Bearer had both vanished from ringside - leaving The Taskmaster and his Faces of Fear looking over their shoulders - wondering where the Dead Man had gone. MAIN EVENT: WCW World Championship Match: 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair (c) (w/Woman) vs. Bret 'The Hitman' Hart: It had already been a big night for the Horsemen after bringing in Jeff Jarrett as their new fourth member...could they wrap up the night with a big win against former WWF Champion Bret Hart? This was built as a dream match and Hart and Flair certainly did not disappoint. The crowd as as jacked up as they had been all night and Hart and Flair pulled out all the stops - putting on what will go down as an instant classic. Neither man was looking to back down and as a result this one went back and forth the whole way - both men looking to impliment their strategy as both men focused on the other's legs while on the offensive. Flair, as usual, took the more underhanded approach with his methodology - at one point taking a page out of Hart's playbook as he slammed Hart's knee repeatedly into the steel ring post! But the determined Hitman battled back on one bad leg after Flair took a flop off the top turnbuckle! Selling his worn down leg, Bret still managed to mount what looked like a last minute come back! Hart with an atomic drop followed by a Russian Legsweep! Hart was calling for the Sharpshooter as every seat in the crowd was vacant as everyone was up and rooting on Hart. Hart stepped through and turned Flair over into the Sharpshooter! Flair was in agonizing pain as the referee checked in on him...but Flair was shaking his head violently 'NO!' Woman was up on the apron to distract the referee...very conveniantly as Flair began to tap out! Arn Anderson slid into the ring from behind and broke it up! The crowd booed loudly as Anderson sent Hart into the ropes, but Hart came back with a dropkick to Anderson! Anderson rolled out of the ring and Hart locked in his own Figure Four to Flair! The referee was back in position and checking on Flair...could he tap out to his own finisher?! Chris Benoit was the next Horseman to hit the ring, immediately being stopped by the referee...but with the referee turned, Jeff Jarrett came from the opposite side of the ring and Jarrett had the World Title! Jarrett leaped into the air and drove the gold belt into Hart's head! Jarrett and Benoit both left the ring as the referee turned to see Flair still trapped in the Figure Four, but he was propped up on his elbows while Hart's shoulders were down on the mat! The referee had no choice but to make the count - One, Two, Three! Ric Flair retained with plenty of help from his new Horseman Jeff Jarrett! (98/96/100) -After the match, The Horsemen surrounded Bret Hart as they helped Flair to his feet. Flair and the rest joined in on a four-on-one stomping to the fallen Hitman. The crowd's boos suddenly turned to deafening cheers as Randy Savage sprinted down to the ring armed with a chair! The Four Horsemen immediately scattered before Savage could slide into the ring! Savage kneeled down and checked on Hart as Flair and his Horsemen regrouped up the aisle. Flair held up the WCW Championship in celebration from the ramp as the show came to a close. OVERALL - 85% |

WCW Monday Nitro April 22, 1996 Announcers: Tony Shiavone & Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan -We open with still photos from Spring Stampede - focusing on the major events of 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett attacking 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig to reveal that he was the newest member of the Four Horsemen as well as Bret Hart and Ric Flair's classic main event matchup that saw Flair retain the WCW World Title with lots of assistance from the Horsemen. -Fittingly enough, after we are welcomed to the show by Schiavone and the Brain - the new look Horsemen made their way down to the ring to kick things off. Ric Flair was all smiles as he had the WCW title around his suited waist while Jeff Jarrett was looking more confident than ever as the new Horseman. Flair took the microphone and thanked his newest Horseman Jarrett for proving his worth last night as Flair 'overcame' the odds and retained the WCW title against the so called 'Best there ever will be' - Flair said last night that he has once again proven that he is - THE MAN! The Horsemen continued to gloat over their big night at Spring Stampede as the crowd let Flair have it with loud boos. But their celebration was eventually interrupted as 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage made his way down the aisle! Savage stopped at the halfway point of the aisle and took his own microphone - saying that he was sick of the 'numbers' game that the Horsemen always seem to have. Savage said it was about time people looked to join forces against common enemies. Savage said that he planned on putting together a team that would take out the Horsemen once and for all! Flair told Savage 'good luck' finding anyone else dumb enough to team with Savage, much less team with Savage to take on the Horsemen! Savage's response was that Flair might be right - it may be hard, but he's already found one guy in the back who didn't have to be asked twice...Bret 'The Hitman' Hart! The crowd popped loud as Bret made his way out and joined Savage in the aisle. Hart took the microphone and told Flair that the results would have been a lot different last night if Flair's henchmen weren't around. Hart told Flair this wasn't over yet - and that he would get another title shot before it was all said and done. But for now - he was looking forward to forming a union with Savage to rid WCW of the Four Horsemen! Flair once again laughed at the duo and told them if they want a shot at the Horsemen...they can have it! Right here tonight! Hart grinned and said he was hoping to step into the ring with Flair again tonight, and even if it's a tag match - it would be worth it. 'Not so fast' - Flair responded - he never said HE was going to be getting in the ring tonight. Tonight, Savage and Hart could test out their newly found bond by taking on the Horsemen's newest member - Jeff Jarrett and Chris Benoit! It wasn't what Hart was hoping for, but Savage and Hart had no problems squaring off against The Horsemen tonight in tag team action! They agreed and the match was set for tonight's main event! (94%) -As we came back from commercials - we got a video package that introduced the first ever WCW King of the Ring! Backstage, 'The Professor' Mike Tenay explained the concept...over the coming weeks, 16 men from Nitro and 16 men from Raw would be squaring off in two seperate preliminary brackets. Then in May at WCW's first ever King of the Ring Pay-Per-View - the Nitro bracket will square off against the Raw bracket to crown the first ever WCW King of the Ring! KOTR Preliminary Match: Ahmed Johnson vs. Disco Inferno: Disco Inferno's cocky attitude and dance moves quickly got under the crowd's skin hear - but luckily Ahmed Johnson was there to do what everyone in the crowd wanted to do - beat the living tar out of Disco. Johnson quickly over powered Disco and pretty much dominated him. After some limited offense, Ahmed Johnson would go on to put Disco away with the Pearl River Plunge to pick up the victory and advance to the next round of the Quarter Finals of the Nitro Bracket! (72/71/73) -Ahmed Johnson did not have much time to celebrate, because out came Steve 'Mongo' McMichael and his wife Debra McMichael - who was sporting a neckbrace. Mongo took the microphone at the entrance way and wanted Ahmed Johnson to see what he did to his beautiful wife last night! Mongo was worried about Debra's health - and was outraged at Ahmed for how careless he was in the ring. Mongo said that Johnson was going to have to PAY dearly for this. Ahmed Johnson shook his head, knowing there's no way Debra was that seriously hurt from falling off the ring apron - but motioned for Mongo to come on down to the ring and fight him. Mongo shook his head - 'no way, Jose' - McMichael exclaimed - he had another way of getting payback against Ahmed Johnson. Out came Clarence Mason, who Mongo introduced as his new attorney as he planned on suing the pants off Ahmed Johnson for assault on his wife Debra. Mongo told Ahmed to enjoy his victory tonight - because that's the only victory he's going to be having from now on! (68%) -Backstage, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund was standing by with the NEW tag team champions - The Steiner Brothers. Rick and Scott were both pumped to be tag champions once again, but admit they had a hard fought match against Harlem Heat - and would gladly give them a rematch at any time. Right on cue, Sister Sherri led Booker T and Stevie Ray into the shot. As luck would have it, Booker T explained that the Steiner Suckas got lucky last night, and they would love to get themselves a rematch. Scott backed up their claim - saying they would have no problem giving them a rematch, he'll even let Booker T and Stevie Ray name the time and the place. Sister Sherri immediately jumped in and pulled her boys together for a secret conference. Booker T returned and smiled - saying the Steiners had themselves a deal. They plan to hold them to that offer...they WILL name the time and the place...and it will be when they LEAST expect it! Booker T and Stevie Ray both laughed along with Sister Sherri as they headed off screen. (72%) -'The Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan lead the 3 Faces of Fear down to the ring. Sullivan took the microphone and admited he was disappointed that the Undertaker was not under his power yet - it would happen in due time. But in the meantime - he proved last night just how dominant his 3 Faces of Fear are. They had The Undertaker running and hiding last night! But they're WCW domination will not just begin with the Undertaker - with Doomsday being entered into the King of the Ring - it gives them the opportunity to take a firm grip on WCW's throat by winning this tournament. So he takes pity on the rest of the souls in this tournament....because they are in for a grim future. (78%) KOTR Preliminary Match: Doomsday (w/The Taskmaster) vs. 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan: HOOOOOOOO! The crowd greeted Jim Duggan with cheers as he marched around the ring - not intimidated by The Taskmaster or the 7 foot monster known as Doomsday that awaited him in the ring. Duggan took this challenge head on, charging straight in at Doomsday and trying to match strength with the monster - but Doomsday was having none of that. Doomsday quickly pounded Duggan to the mat. Doomsday showed off some of his power moves as he hit Duggan with a devistating backbreaker, a military press drop, and even a flying clothesline showing off his range. Taskmaster noticed Doomsday was simplying toying with Duggan - and ordered him to finish him. Duggan ate a Big Boot from Doomsday before being lifted up and dropped with a Tombstone Piledriver right out of the Undertaker's playbook! Doomsday made the pin and picked up the win - advancing to the quarterfinals! (71/70/73) Non-Title Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Arn Anderson (w/Woman): After being part of an attack by the Horsemen last week during his Cruiserweight Title Match - we learn that Guerrero personally requested this matchup. Guerrero didn't even mind that it was non-title - though a win against 'The Enforcer' here would certainly put him in line for a US Title shot. Guerrero seemed to have that in mind as he was motivated right from the opening bell - showing Anderson that this was not going to be a walk in the park. Anderson had his hands full all match - even some help from Woman didn't give Anderson much momentum as Guerrero was proving that he could hang with the big names in WCW. Anderson tried to get a breather at ringside, but a suicide dive from Guerrero quickly put a stop to that! Guerrero would eventually go for his Frog Splash finisher, but Anderson rolled out of the way, sending Guerrero crashing to the mat. This finally gave Anderson the opening he needed to take control. Anderson began working over Eddie's back to set him up for an eventual Spinebuster. But Eddie was resliant and once again began to battle back. Chris Benoit rushed down to the ring to try to assist his teammate, but as he climbed on the apron - someone tugged him right back down! It was Dean Malenko! Malenko and Benoit began to brawl back and forth around ringside as Arn Anderson found himself distracted by the fight! Guerrero suddenly sneaked up behind Arn with a roll up! One, Two, Three! Guerrero stole himself a singles victory over the United States Champion! Guerrero quickly rolled out of the ring and celebrated his victory! (82/83/82) -Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko met in the aisle as Chris Benoit rolled into the ring to help a frustrated Arn Anderson to his feet. Malenko lifted up Eddie's arm in victory as the Horsemen looked agrivated in the ring. -After a commercial break, Lord Steven Regal made his way down to the ring to boos from the crowd as he was joined by The Blue Bloods. Regal climbed into the ring and talked about how fitting it would be if he, of such royal lineage, were to win the King of the Ring. King Steven Regal certainly had a ring to it - to which Earl Robert Eaton and Squire David Taylor both nodded in agreement. And to advance to the quarterfinals - all he would have to do is beat a man he's already defeated! Regal said he defeated the Irish brute Fit Finlay last night - and would have no problems doing it once again tonight. (81%) -KOTR Preliminary Match: 'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finlay vs. Lord Steven Regal (w/The Blue Bloods): After putting on an amazing match last night at Spring Stampede - we were treated with a great encore match that was just as good as their performance last night. Finlay and Regal battled back and forth once again, with neither man letting up on the stiff shots. Finlay was looking for some redemption, and he was certainly well on his way as he began to take control late. But David Taylor and Robert Eaton were going to have some say in that...they both climbed onto the apron...but Finlay saw them and knocked each down with a stiff left hand each! Regal staggered to his feet...into Finlay who lifted him up...CELTIC DRIVER! One, Two, Three! Finlay got some retribution from Spring Stampede AND advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nitro bracket! (74/65/93) -Backstage, Marty Jannetty was with Goldust and Marlena - venting his frustrations about them putting him against Doomsday last night. Goldust told Jannety to get his panties out of a wad...because obviously that was a big failure last night, but ever good film maker has a flop every now and then. You just have to move on to the next big idea. Which is why Marty Jannetty has been entered into the King of the Ring! What better way to push an ultimate underdog movie than having the ultimate underdog be the unlikely winner of a prestigious tournament! Jannetty's eyes grew wide as he finally seemed to like what Goldust had to say. Jannetty nodded and called Goldust a genious - he could do it! He could become King of the Ring! Jannetty darted off screen with enthusiasm as Goldust grinned to Marlena. He said they would do anything within their power to make sure Jannetty wins this tournament. (83%) MAIN EVENT: 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage & Bret 'The Hitman' Hart (w/Miss Elizabeth) vs. 'Double J' Jeff Jarrett & Chris Benoit (w/Woman): In his first official match as a Horseman, Jarrett was looking to impress with Benoit as his partner against two former champions. On first glance, Savage and Hart would appear to have Jarrett and Benoit outmatched - but with Woman in their corner - Benoit and Jarrett eventually were able to isolate Bret Hart and keep him from making the tag to Savage. Hart kicked out of each pinfall attempt by Jarrett or Benoit - but the heels stuck to their guns and kept on the attack. Eventually Hart would break a sleeperhold from Jarrett with a jawbreaker that left both men down long enough for Hart to crawl over and get the tag to Savage! Savage came on on fire and took out both Jarrett and an incoming Benoit. Savage cleaned house of the Horsemen, and even would head to the top rope...only to have Woman climb onto the apron to distract Savage. This allowed Benoit to attack Savage and come off the top with a SUPERPLEX! Things began to get out of control as Miss Elizabeth pulled Woman down and raked her eyes and tossed her to the ground by her hair! Back in the ring - now all four men were in the ring as Hart and Jarrett paired off while Benoit and Savage were going at it. Bret Hart and Jarrett took each other out with a double clothesline that left both men down, while Benoit hit a German Suplex to Savage! Benoit climbed to the top turnbuckle and came off with the Swandive Headbutt...but Savage rolled out of the way! Both Savage and Benoit were slow to their feet, but Jarrett had recovered and attacked Savage from behind! The ref stepped in to break it up, trying to get Jarrett out of the ring since he was not the legal man...but as he did..Ric Flair came from the crowd and rolled into the ring! Flair hit Savage with a low blow! Benoit took advantage, hitting the Bridging Dragon Suplex to Savage - One, Two, Three! (84/85/83) -Arn Anderson joined Flair, Jarrett, Benoit, and Woman in the ring to make it a four on two advantage while Miss Elizabeth could do nothing but watch at ringside in horror. The alliance between Hart and Savage was off to a rough start - as Nitro came to a close with the Horsemen once again standing tall. OVERALL - 77% Edited by Dubb, Dec 14 2011, 03:18 PM.

RAW Saturday Night April 27th, 1996 Announcers: Jim Ross & Jerry 'The King' Lawler - The show opens with Eric Bischoff, the WCW Rep. out with a microphone to make some big announcements. He tells us that, like we all saw on Nitro, Raw will also be giving 16 men their chances to become the King of the Ring with a grand total of 32 men vying for a spot as King! That's not all however. He's also ou there to let us know that at the King Of The Ring PPV, the WWF World Heavyweight championship will be on the line when Shawn Michaels faces Diesel, and the two will have a special contract signing later tonight! JR and King say that's huge and already begin to wonder who could emerge from the WWF as a King Of The Ring finalist! (87%) - KOTR Preliminary Match: 1-2-3 Kid w/ Ted DiBiase vs. Aldo Montoya A big oppurtunity for Aldo here, as he takes on the red hot Kid. JR notes that there is no 5 thousand dollar prize at stake here. These two have a solid bout with Montoya managing to hang well with the Kid. Eventually the million dollar man's protoge starts to take over and seems poised for victory after he hits a big series of kicks in the corner. He starts setting up for the 1-2-3 Kick, but Montoya manages to duck the move! From here he starts his comeback and DiBiase looks to get involved late, but it backfires as he ends up tripping up the 1-2-3 Kid after an irish whip reversal. Seizing his chance Aldo gets a roll up for the shocking 3! Aldo Montoya wins! (70/62/79) - Aldo quickly exits as a stunned Kid remains in the ring, JR telling us that indeed anything can happen in the WWF! - We are with Todd Pettengill backstage now as he's standing by with the British Bulldog and Owen Hart. The two men say both are in the King of the Ring and they promise one will talk out as winner. Hart says as a former winner, he's set to make history when he repeats. Bulldog tells his brother in law that it's a lot more likely that he'll win and as a true brit, he's more natural in the role of royalty. The two argue a little but finally seem to agree that one of them will win and in the end that's all that matters. (82%) KOTR Preliminary Match: British Bulldog vs. The Renegade This is a hard hitting contest as both men try to show off their power. JR and King talk about how the Renegade helped out his friend Hulk Hogan last week and he seems rejuvenated here. He manages to hit a big body press drop late, but Vader and One Man gang step out. OMG even gets on the apron and it allows Vader the chance to enter the ring and hit a stiff lariat to an unsuspecting Renegade! This gives Bulldog his shot to scoop Renegade up and nail the Powerslam for a three. (74/75/72) - Bulldog celebrates up the ramp and OMG and Vader start beating down on Renegade when 'Real American' hits! The fans erupt as out runs Hulk Hogan! He fights off the heels with big right hands and sends OMG right over the top rope with a clothesline. Vader slides out and the heels head up the ramp as Hogan helps Renegade up, holding his arm in the air to the appreciation of the Raw crowd. (77%) - After a break Jerry Lawler gets up from the announce desk with a mic. He tells us the last match showed him a few things. It showed him that WCW is full of losers like the Renegade, and also full of crazy maniacs like Vader and the rest of the Doomers! He says right now he's got a KOTR preliminary bout and he promises to beat up some WCW garbage! The King's swagger dies a little when he sees his opponent however... it's Johnny B. Badd! The TV champion sprints down the ramp and this one is on! (77%) KOTR Preliminary Match: Jerry 'The King' Lawler vs. Johnny B. Badd A very hot crowd here as Badd lays into King, sending the cowardly royalty into hiding. As he tries to recover outside Badd give shim no break, running to the ropes and hitting a flipping senton right over the top and onto Lawler! Badd lays in some more rights and lefts as King manages to defuse his momentum when he reverse a running assault that sends Badd face first into the steel steps! From here Lawler slows the pace, first using the outside rails and stairs to wear Badd down before getting him in the ring and working over his neck. The crowd start to rally behind Badd who manages to power out of a chinlock and seems to have momentum before King hits him with a big dropkick! He sets Badd up for the Piledriver, but Johnny manages to backdrop his way out and than hits a big left hook that knocks Lawler to the ground! With his in position Badd runs to the corner and hits his impressive Badd Day moonsault for the three! (82/82/83) - As Badd celebrates, the bitter King does what he seems to always do, hitting a big low blow as he promises Badd he'll make him pay! - We get a special look at DDP and Kimberly's "date" now. We are in a nice looking restaurant as Page and Kim sit at a table. Page is in a suit and seems rather polite as he asks Kimberly to order whatever she wants on his charge. Kim actually seems fine with things and says DDP is being surprisingly gentlemanly. DDP says he's just that classy and besides, he wants to make sure that she eats well and has a lot of energy... for later tonight! Kim looks shocked as Page says that he assumes Kim knows how this date should end. Kim says there is no way she's sleeping with Page and now DDP gets angry as he says he just 'waster' almost 100 bucks and he's not even going to get any booty from her? He stands up and tells her that she owes him but before he can continue he's cuddenly hit from behind with a plate by a waiter... it's Brutus Beefcake! He keeps up his attack as DDP is sent rolling across some tables and ends up covered in wine and food before he runs off, vowing to get what he 'earned' as Beefcake checks on Kimberly. (80%) KOTR Preliminary Match: Savio Vega vs. Owen Hart This is a solid bout as the fiery latino gives Owen everything he can handle and than some. Eventually the technical proficiency of Owen gets him back into this and he gets a long 2 off an enziguri. Vega seems poised for the Sharpshooter but manages to fight free. He comes back with some rights and nails a big DDT. As he prepares to dlier the Carribean Kick though, Hart ducks and the referee is nailed! Hart tries to take advantage while vega checks on the ref, but the Puerto Rican senses it and dodges the attack before hitting the Carribean Kick! As vega goes back to the ref a blonde haired man in a leather jacket suddenly slides into the ring with a steel chair and drills Vega in the back before planting him right on the head! JR identifies him as Brian Pillman! Pillman drags Owen on top of Vega and than leaves the ring, jumping into the crowd and running off as the official makes the three count giving Owen the tainted three. (76/76/76) - We get a shot of Shawn Michaels heading to the ring. His contract signing is NEXT! (95%) - There is a table in the ring with the contract when Shawn Michaels music hits and out steps the world champion in a pair of jeans and his latest t-shirt. Eric Bischoff greets him with a handshake and than Diesel's music hits, to booing. Big Daddy Cool looks more formal in a full on suit and some slick shades. He steps into the ring and stares down Michaels as Bischoff tells both men that the contract on the table is for a World title match at King of the Ring. Now he'd like to open the floor however, to both men. HBK speaks first as he says that Diesel made a BIG mistake thinking that he could make his name off of him. He tells Big Daddy Cool that he might have used the HBK 'brand' in the past to become a star, but it won't be happening again. He's spent his whole life trying to fullfill his boyhood dream and he wasn't going to let Diesel or anybody else stop it! Diesel speaks now and says that HBK is right. He did help break him into the WWF. He gave him a shot... but it was Big Daddy Cool who took that shot and became the biggest star in the world! He says that while Michaels blew all of his chances at being a star, Diesel never missed. He beat the world champion in less than 10 seconds. He held his title for almost a full year. In his 'rookie' year, he had already held every single championship that the world wrestling federation had to offer. Meanwhile Shawn failed to beat him at wrestlemania and took almost a DECADE to do what Diesel had in less than 12 months. He says that when he gets his shots? Big Daddy Cool doesn't fail. He doesn't make mistakes. He's a winner and at King Of The Ring he's going to end the boyhood dream. Michaels chuckles and says Diesel may be right about his meteoric rise in the WWF, but last time he checked he was busy running scared of the Undertaker while Michaels was winning the greatest match in Wrestlemania history! Diesel seems a little pissed now and says we'll see whose left running at KOTR before he signs the deal. HBK does as well and Bischoff proudly announces the WWF title match. Diesel seems happy to walk away, but when HBK turns to his Kliq he's nailed from behind! The #1 contender is all over him and after a beating looks over at the contract table. He lifts up the beaten down champ and hooks him up as Bischoff pleads for him to stop before the world champion is Powerbombed through the table! The fans erupt is booing as Diesel grabs the title and poses, sending a clear message to end Raw! (97%) OVERALL - 82% |
