Poor Dubb. Seems like I'm going from the frying pan into the fire going from the Mets to Pittsburgh. |

Through June 30, 2012 2B Mike Marks A defensive stalwart at 2B, the Nationals are now illogically using Marks as a third basemen against left handers with a DH. Marks has now gone to media several times about his lack of playing time. The Nationals appear to have a disgruntled player on their hands. Through 58 games, Marks has a .284/.336/.440 line with 4 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs, 18 RBI, 1 stolen base (1 caught stealing), and 17 runs scored. He's drawn 10 walks to 26 strikeouts. Marks has committed 1 error in 23 games and has a +3.6 UZR rating at second base. He's committed 1 error in 6 games and has a -1.9 UZR rating at third base. He's committed 1 error in 6 games at shortstop and has a -0.5 UZR rating. Washington is currently 46-32 - 1 game out of 1st in NL East, but they do lead the Wild Card. Chris Ticon Chris Ticon still finds himself playing A ball for the High Desert Mavericks at the start of July. He's still very unhappy with the transactions made by the Seattle Mariners. For the Mavericks, Chris is currently hitting .378/.479/.613 with 10 doubles, 6 home runs, 28 RBI, 2 stolen bases (1 caught stealing), and 30 runs scored. He's walked 21 times and struck out 22 times. Chris has also played a few games in AA ball, but not enough to fully report on yet. Ticon has committed 1 error in 28 games for the Mavericks and has a +3.2 UZR rating. The High Desert Mavericks find themselves at 42-37 - 5 games out of 1st in the South Division. Looks like Ticon's presence has helped the Mavericks out significantly. William Cody Perkins Perkins' record now stands at 8-7 (16 games started, 89 innings pitched) with an ERA that has risen to 5.36. He's stuck out 97 while walking 47 and is holding opponents to a .261 batting average. He still hasn't committed an error on the year. Perkins is still the staff ace for the 39-39 Diamondbacks. The team is 6 and a half games out of first in the NL West. Jon Dubb After falling 799 picks in the 2012 First Year Player draft, Dubb quickly signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates and was assigned to the Bradenton Marauders of the Florida State League. Dubb doesn't find himself in the current line-up, however. Through 11 games, Dubb has a .214/.389/.214 line. He's drawn 3 walks on the year. The Marauders are currently 35-46 on the year - 13 games out of 1st in the South Division. Santiago Cabrera, Kou Kouerson, Jack Allen, and Nick Gage have all yet to sign with their respective teams. |

Through July 31, 2012 2B Mike Marks Marks is back to playing 2B for the Nationals versus left handers with a DH, but is still angry with the team for his lack of playing team. Through 76 games, he has a .284/.349/.428 line with 8 doubles, 4 triples, 4 home runs, 24 RBI, 4 stolen bases (1 caught stealing), and 24 runs scored. He's drawn 19 walks to 37 strikeouts. Marks has committed 2 errors in 34 games at second base and has a +5.1 UZR rating. Washington is currently 63-40 and in first place in the NL East. Chris Ticon Chris Ticon is still playing for the High Desert Mavericks after July. Ticon is currently hitting .358/.459/.570 with 14 doubles, 7 home runs, 38 RBI, 3 stolen bases (2 caught stealing), and 35 runs scored. He's walked 29 times and struck out 32 times. Ticon has committed 2 errors in 28 games for the Mavericks and has a +4.1 UZR rating. Chris was also selected to the 2012 California League All-Star Game where he went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. The High Desert Mavericks have fallen to 54-54 - 9 games out of 1st in the South Division. William Cody Perkins Perkins is very unhappy with his performance this year and you have to wonder if that's hindering the young phenom. Perkins has been demoted back down to the #2 starter. Perkins is now 8-9 (21 games started, 116.1 innings pitched) with an ERA sitting at 5.49. He has 124 strikeouts, 69 walks, and is holding opponents to a .267 batting average. He still hasn't committed an error on the year and has a +0.9 UZR. The Diamondbacks sit at 51-52 - nine and a half games out of 1st in the NL West. Jon Dubb Jon Dubb is now a Cleveland Indian. The Indians claimed the former top prospect off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Dubb is currently backing up Carlos Santana. Dubb has only played 2 games for the Indians, but has a .250/.222/.625 line with a home run, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored. He's struck out once. The Indians are 50-55 on the year - eleven and a half games out of first in the AL Central. Kou Kouerson Kouerson signed with the Phillies on July 28th and hasn't amassed enough playing time to report on. He signed a 3 year major league contract worth a total of $2,970,000 and received a signing bonus of $4,370,000. Kouerson has been named the starting center fielder for the Phillies by manager Don Demola. The Phillies are 49-53 in the NL East - thirteen and a half games out of 1st. Nick Gage Gage joins the recently acquired Dubb in Cleveland. Gage signed a minor league deal with a signing bonus of $7,050,000 on July 22nd. Through 9 games, Gage has hit .324/.359/.703 with 2 doubles, 4 home runs, 7 RBI, and 6 runs scored. He's walked twice to eight strikeouts. He has a +0.9 UZR. The Indians are 50-55 on the year - eleven and a half games out of first in the AL Central. Santiago Cabrera and Jack Allen have yet to come to terms with the Pirates and Orioles respectively. Will Cabrera go back to UNC for a second year? Will this be the second year in a row the Orioles fail to sign a superstar catcher? They have until August 5th to sign. |

Through August 31, 2012 2B Mike Marks It looks like the Nationals tried to appease Marks by playing him with their AAA affiliate for part of the past month. Marks is still angry with the team, however, and has returned to the big league club. Through 86 games with the Nationals, Marks has a .283/.358/.429 line with 9 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs, 25 RBI, 6 stolen bases (2 caught stealing), and 27 runs scored. He's drawn 25 walks and struck out 43 times. He's committed 3 errors in 41 games and has a +5.4 UZR rating. Washington is currently 78-54 and in first place in the NL East. Chris Ticon Coming off a California League All-Star Game selection, Ticon was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays on August 22nd. Who knows if the former first round pick has anything left? Ticon has a .214/.312/.214 line through 4 games with the Blue Jays with an RBI and a run scored. He's walked twice and struck out once. The Blue Jays are 58-74 - last place in the AL East. William Cody Perkins Perkins is now angry with his and unhappy with the team's performance thus far in the 2012 season. Perkins is back to being the #1 starter in Arizona, however. Perkins is 11-11 (27 games started, 152.2 innings pitched) with a 4.78 ERA. He has 174 strikeouts, 90 walks, and is holding opponents to a .247 batting average. He now has one error on the year and a +0.6 UZR. The Diamondbacks sit at 61-71 - seventeen and a half games out of 1st in the NL West. Jon Dubb Dubb is still the primary backup to Carlos Santana in Cleveland. Dubb brought his games played total to 6 and has a .278/.301/.278 line with 1 double, 2 home runs, 5 RBI, and 4 runs scored. He's struck out 6 times and walked once.. The Indians are 62-72 on the year - eleven and a half games out of first in the AL Central. Kou Kouerson The 25 year old Kouerson is hitting 5th versus righties and 3rd versus lefties. On August 30th, Kou went 5-5 with RBI and 2 runs scored against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Through 30 games, Kou has a .289/.319/.383 line with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs, 11 RBI, 6 stolen bases (2 caught stealing), and 17 runs scored. He's struck out 31 times compared to 6 walks. Defensively, Kou struggles - committing 2 errors through 28 games with a -3.9 UZR. The Phillies are 65-66 in the NL East - twelve and a half games out of 1st. Nick Gage Nick Gage is now the reigning American League Rookie of the Month after having won the award for his stellar play in August. Through 38 games, Gage is hitting .358/.433/.642 with 13 doubles, 10 home runs, 29 RBI, and 26 runs scored. He's walked 20 times to 32 strikeouts. He has a +1.0 UZR. The Indians are 62-72 on the year - eleven and a half games out of first in the AL Central. Santiago Cabrera has opted to go back to UNC for his sophomore season rather than sign with the Pittsburgh Pirates. For the second year in a row, the Baltimore Orioles have failed to sign a catcher they drafted in the first round. This time it's Jack Allen who has opted to attend Texas Christian University. |
