The War Has Begun Professional wrestling was changing in 1995. Heros like Hulk Hogan were no longer guaranteed to be cheered. American wrestling fans got tired of the random squash matches on network TV and wanted to see the best wrestling possible. In a lot of ways, that meant some great things for the fans. World Championship Wrestling, for example, launched Nitro and put together some of the best matches ever seen in the United States that wasn’t aired on Pay-Per-View. An upstart promotion, named Extreme Championship Wrestling, put up the most captivating television in wrestling history in the mid 90s. But...I am here to tell you the future. This was great for 3, 4, 5 years. Then the market became oversaturated. 1997-1999 experienced a peak never seen before in professional wrestling. Then in 2000, while business was good for the WWF, the other two major promotions were on a downward spiral. By the end of 2001, only the WWF survived. Sure, some upstart promotions popped up to compete, but by 2012, none had succeeded. The WWF wasn’t exactly putting on their best television either. They had talented superstars buried in the midcard, or top guys jobbing cleanly to movie stars, or worse, guys who were stars in 1995…still being stars in 2011! We are here to stop that. January 1st, 1996, the War Begins. Four aspiring General Managers, owners, whatever you want to call them, splitting the wrestling world for quite frankly its own good. Hajj, Jerry, Magoo and RDT set out to put together the best wrestling in the world, each in their own vision. Expect everyone’s roster info/promotion info posted by all the owners in the next week. |

International Championship Wrestling A Summary: Comprised of some of the biggest names in the industry, ICW has a roster of established talent, although it does feature some potential future stars. The format of TV is unclear, although some are already expecting it to be a 'spiritual successor' to WCW given it's association with Eric Bischoff. Main Eventers: 'Big Daddy Cool' Diesel - Entering 1996, Diesel is a man who lives by his own rules. Following his title loss to Bret Hart at the Survivor Series the former bodyguard of Shawn Michaels is something of an enigma. A lone wolf for certain, the fans still aren't sure how to react to the former world champion but he will certainly be leaving his mark one way or the other. Lex Luger - After a lengthy feud with Hulk Hogan, Lex Luger has joined up with ICW along with his good friend Sting. The fans haven't been fully supportive despite this friendship, some think it may just be a matter of time before the ego of Luger ruins his relationship with the Stinger... 'Macho Man' Randy Savage w/ Miss Elizabeth- A legend in the sport, Savage is coming off a hard fought title loss to Ric Flair at Starrcade, but is still a very dangerous competitor. Loved worldwide, Savage won't be looking to stay alone for long and with the lovely Miss Liz set to return to his side, this power couple could quickly be moving back to the top of ICW. Sting - The man they call Sting has seen his home, the only place he's ever worked, gone. It's unclear how he'll handle his new environment but he's still beloved by the wrestling world and without Hogan, perhaps his good friend Luger can finally turn to his side as both men would form one of wrestling's most impressive duo's. Upper Midcard: 'Pearl River Powerhouse' Ahmed Johnson - The big man from Mississippi has been on a tear since debuting. He's already won a Survivor Series bout and is coming off of a string of PPV victories. A strong, intimidating and athletic powerhouse the sky seems to be the limit for Ahmed. The only knock against him right now is his lack of experience. 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson - Alone for the first time in what seems like forever, Arn Anderson has a chance to make his own mark in ICW. A great wrestler and speaker, Arn was part of the reunited Horsemen, although with the group fractured right now it's unclear if he'll keep his alliance with Brian Pillman or forge his own path. Goldust w/ Marlena - The Bizarre One has certainly left a strong first impression on the wrestling world in a very short period of time. A master of mind games, Goldust was recently trying to get into the head of his rival Razor Ramon with his pseudo sexual advances and it seemed to be pushing the bad guy's button's. With the reported debut of his 'Director' Marlena, the eccentric superstar will certainly be looking to add more gold in ICW. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts - A legend in the business, Jake Roberts has recently 'refound' himself in the light of God and is looking for redemption for his past sins. The question remains however if the master manipulator can reach the same heights with his new found beliefs as he did in the past... 'The Bad Guy' Razor Ramon - One of the biggest stars in the world today, Razor Ramon is a fiery Cuban who does what he wants and the crowds around the world love him for it. The man with machismo has recently been embroiled with Goldust as he's been trying to keep his cool despite the shenanigans of the bizarre one. The rivalry is intense and it seems like it's only a matter of time before the two collide in a ICW ring. Midcarders: 1-2-3 Kid - After betraying his longtime friend Razor Ramon, the 1-2-3 Kid showed his true colors as he now stands as part of the remains of Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation. His issues with Razor seem to be on the back burner thanks to goldust, but one has to guess he's not done with 'The Bad Guy' just yet. 'The Loose Cannon' Brian Pillman - A absolute wildman, Pillman has been creating controversy since the end of 1995 with his unpredictable behavior. Even as a member of the 4 Horsemen, his own allies had a hard time trusting the Loose Cannon. While Ric Flair and Chris Benoit have moved to different worlds, Pillman still has Arn Anderson from the former Horsemen with him, but will he keep up that alliance and even if he does, can Arn trust him? Crush - Recently spending a stint in jail, the badass Hawaiian is set to return to TV in ICW. How will his time in the slammer effect his personality is still unknown. Disco Inferno - A plucky youngster who loves to dance, Disco hasn't made too big an impact in the wrestling world yet but seems to have a lot of tools. He's an underrated worker, has great natural charisma and despite a musical taste far past it's best before the fans have taken a shine to the boogie expert. Hunter Hearst Helmsley - Coming off a big Hog Pen mathc victory of Henry O. Godwinn, the Connecticut blue blood seems poised for a breakout year. A great wrestler with fantastic mic skills, Hunter seems like he'll be reaching the top of the WWF inevitably. A case of if, not when. Johnny B. Badd - A multiple time TV champion, Badd is looking to keep up that momentum in ICW. A underrated wrestler the former golden gloves boxing champion is another midcard act who could push out and make a name for himself in ICW. 'Supreme Fighting Machine' Kama - A dangerous master of martial arts, Kama is a enforcer for Ted DiBiase. Coming off a successful (Albeit losing) feud with the Undertaker, it's unclear where Kama will go from here but he's certainly not an opponent to underestimate. Savio Vega - The fiery Puerto Rican has had a great 1995, teaming up with his friend Razor Ramon and showing he could have a future in the business. Savio will be looking to keep his alliance up as Razor keeps up his issues with Goldust but it seems that his own star will also shine and if given a chance, the Latino star will give it his all. Sgt. Slaughter - A longtime veteran of the sport, it's been reported that 'Sarge' isn't in ICW to make a couple cameo's. He's set for a full fledged return to the ring! It's unclear how he will compete after a long appearance (He hasn't been in a ring since 1992) but he'll certainly be hoping to put some Maggot's in line! Steve 'Mongo' McMichael w/ Debra McMichael - The long time announcer for WCW is set to make his in ring debut in ICW and he's bringing his lovely wife Debra with him. The former Super Bowl champion certainly has the athletic background, but how will that translate to the wrestling ring? Tatanka - The native American has been a lackey for Ted DiBiase for awhile now and while he's somewhat been treading water, ICW could be his chance to recapture the form that saw him go more than 2 years without losing a match. The Bootyman - The former mole in the Dungeon of Doom has recently taken to admire his own behind. A bizarre fascination, Bootyman will have to get by without his Booty babe (The former Kimberly) but be assured that he won't let that stop him from trying to make a name for himself in ICW. Lower Midcarders: Adam Bomb - Not seen since 1995, the human meltdown is a specimen to behold and not one to be taken lightly in the ring. While he never reached the heights most thought he should have so far, perhaps ICW will give Adam his chance to shine. Avatar - The mysterious ninja has had a mixed series of results. It's unclear what the martial artists has planned next, but he's certainly a prospect worth watching. Belfast Brawler - A tough irishman, the Brawler lives up to his name with his reckless and violent in ring style. He hasn't had too much exposure yet, but when he's seen you can expect him to leave his mark (Or multiple marks) on his opponents. Don Harris - A big, bruising tough guy. Don is a mountain of a man who will be tough to face in a brawl. He'll be looking to make an impact in ICW and not many men will want to throw down with the brawler without risking a lot of pain. Ernest 'The Cat' Miller - Yet to debut, Ernest Miller is a former three time Karate Champion and an All-American linebacker at Savannah State. A great prospect it'll be interesting to see how far the educated feet of Miller can take him in ICW. Hugh Morrus - The 'Laughing Man' has no allies left in ICW. The Dungeon Of Doom is spread throughout the wrestling world and it's unclear how the youngster will handle his time alone. One thing that is clear is the 300 pounder is still a tough opponent and his awe inspiring moonsault is still something to behold. Johnny Ace - The former 'Dynamic Dude' has been wrestling mainly in Japan, but returns to America to compete in ICW. Will his success he enjoyed in Japan translate back with him into North America though? Tag Teams: The Steiner Brothers - Tag veterans and a great pair to boot, Scott & Rick Steiner have recently been making some appearances with outlaw promotion ECW but return to the big stage in ICW. It's unclear if their time in the land of extreme will change their attitudes but either way the duo will be certain to leave an impact in ICW's tag team division. The Godwinns w/ Hillbilly Jim - It was a rough end to the month of the big Arkansas hog farmer, losing out toe Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a Hog Pen match. Still, he's set to bring in his brother Phineas and under the tutelage of a surefire Hall of Famer in Hillbilly Jim this tandem could be a tough team to handle. American Males - A pair of good looking, skilled youngsters, the American Males have already been tag team champions and while losing momentum recently seem ready to step back up and make an impact in ICW's tag division. Rock N' Roll Express - Legends. Two of the pioneers in tag team wrestling, Ricky Morten and Robert Gibson come to ICW looking to recapture some of that past glory and get back into the mix. While older than a lot, these veterans are not to be underestimated and their experience is hard to match. Midnight Express - Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane have had solid singles careers (Lane in Japan), but as a team they were one of the best. Looking to recapture that magic in ICW, it remains to be seen what this duo can do without James E. Cornette by their side. The Quebecers w/ Raymond Rougeau - Long time tag veterans, a former champions, the Quebecers are not a team to underestimate. With the 'Amazing French Canadian' Ray Rougeau to guide them back to the top, the reborn team will hope to recapture some of that past magic that made them one of wrestling's biggest tandems in the early 90's. Too Much - This pair of youngster is looking to make an impact in ICW. Not much is known about the two outside of some appearance by Scott Taylor on WWF TV. Managers: Sunny - The beautiful former manager of Skip, Sunny is on her own and without a client in ICW. It's certainly a variety of men will be dying for a chance to get time with the blonde bombshell, but just who will she choose to represent? 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase - The millionaire mastermind has seen his stable dwindled down to three members. Always looking to get as much power as he can though, it's expected that DiBiase won't take long to look to recruit members to his stable. The question is, who is will to take his price? Development: Alex 'The Pug' Porteau Andrew Martin Horace Hogan Jeff Farmer Juventud Guerrera Rad Radford Ron Harris Super Crazy Too Cold Scorpio Schedule: ICW Saturday Night On TBS (Hosted by Jim Ross & Eric Bischoff) PPV January 28 - Final Four (Fatal 4Way to crown first ICW World Heavyweight Champion) February 25 - TBA March 31st - TBA April 28th - King Of The Ring May 26th - TBA June 30th - Lethal Lottery (Randomly paired tag tournament with the winning team facing off for a World title shot) July 14th - TBA August 18th - Survivor Series September 29th - TBA October 6th -TBA November 3rd - People's Choice (Interactive event where the fans choose opponents/stipulations) December 8th - TBA Edited by Hajjhowe, Apr 12 2012, 09:02 PM.

Posted Image 1/1/96 Results, Boston, MA “Hello everyone I’m Vince McMahon alongside the Professor Mike Tenay and the American Dream Dusty Rhodes. Tonight ladies and gentlemen, yes, Jeff Jarrett to go one on one with the Nature Boy Ric Flair in Primetime’s first main event. Also, we will see the huge tag team of the Big Bossman and the One Man Gang in action as well. Justin Hawk Bradshaw going one on one with Bob Spark Plug Holly. And wait a minute, yes! It’s The Hot Rod!” Rowdy Roddy Piper makes his way to the ring to the standing ovation ! “Well, they sure wanted to get this brand off to a hot start now didn’t they? It doesn’t get any hotter. Any more controversial than the Hot Rod now does it? And, the powers that be re made one hell of a choice when determine who gets the power around here. And of course, they found the craziest son of a bitch to get the job done because it takes one crazy son of a bitch to do this job! And I ain’t gonna waste any time. New promotion, new brand, new rules, and that means…that means we need a new champion. And here’s how we’re gonna get it done. This Sunday, we’ve got a pay-per-view called The Beginning. And it’s going to be one hell of a Beginning. We’re going to put 10 men in the ring, one big battle royal, and the winner will be crowned the champion. I’m going to list you some of the guys in that battle royal. Ric Flair, Jeff Jarrett, The Giant, The Big Bossman, One Man Gang, Hakushi, Cactus Jack, Vader and of course, myself, Roddy Piper are nine of them. To tell the truth, I’m working on the 10th. I’m the President. I’m the boss! Not only do I ask the questions now, I have all the answers too!” Overall: 76% ::COMMERCIAL BREAK:: Justin “Hawk” Bradshaw vs. Bob “Spark Plugg” Holly Bradshaw dominates the match, hitting big rights and lefts everywhere. Bradshaw nearly knocks Holly out with a big boot to the face. More clubbing right and left hands, and then Bradshaw hits a big Fall Away Slam. Bradshaw goes for the cover, but at two, he himself lifts Holly’s shoulders from the mat. Bradshaw goes for the Lariat, but Holly ducks. Holly hits a dropkick. He hits another dropkick. Holly comes off the ropes but get smacked with another big boot. Bradshaw goes for a Powerbomb, but Holly rolls though, 1…2…3! What an upset! Bob Holly takes the win! Afterwards, Bradshaw shoves the referee down in anger, and throws a bit of a tantrum for good measure. Winner: Bob Holly by pin at 5:01 Overall: 63% Crowd Reaction: 54% Match Quality: 73% “My name is Harley Race. Eight times, the heavyweight champion of the world. Harley Race has beaten them all, the Flairs, the Valentines, the Windhams, everyone that there is to beat, I beat. Yet here we are in 1996 and no one seems to have a damn clue who I am. That’s fine. I might not be able to get in the ring anyone but I damn sure know talent when I see it. I will again be the ultimate winner in professional wrestling when find guys who believe in the Harley Race way of doing things. And Ric Flair, that’s bad news for you.” Overall: 73% King Mabel makes his way out to the ring, getting ready for a match with Chavo Guerrero Jr.. Mabel though, grabs a microphone first. “I’m making one thing clear here first. Last month I got put into that casket by The Undertaker. Well Undertaker, you didn’t pin me. You didn’t beat me. At New Beginning, if you got any guts, I want you in a Harlem Streetfight. Let’s see if you got enough street in you to fight the King in a fight. I doubt your dead ass even shows up.” Overall: 75% ::COMMERCIAL BREAK:: We come back for the match. King Mabel vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. Basically a squash here. All of Chavo’s offense has no effect on Mabel, and Mabel basically ends Chavo with a Belly to Belly Suplex. Mabel toys around with Chavo a bit more with a few slams, then hits a legdrop for the three count. Winner: King Mabel by pin at 1:58 Overall: 61% Crowd Reaction: 62% Match Quality: 62% “Harley, me and you go way back my friend. I’m sure ingrained in your mind is the steel cage baby. 1983! Starrcade! The Nature Boy Ric Flair, after 25 minutes, walking out World Heavyweight Champion! Harley baby, what you’ve failed to realize in the last thirteen years is that I grabbed the torch! You didn’t give it to me, I took it from you! I became the man. No matter who you throw at me Harley. No matter who you get to fight me, I still will be the man. And I promise you, I will beat whoever steps in front of me! To Be the Man, you gotta Beat the Man, and I am the man! WOOOO!” Overall: 89% ::COMMERCIAL BREAK:: The Big Bossman and One Man Gang vs. Peter Walker and Mikey Whipwreck Bossman and the Gang, former tag team partners back when the Gang was Akeem, look for an easy victory here. Another squash match here. Bossman and OMG beat the hell out of Walker and Whipwreck, with Mikey taking a dangerous bump head first to the floor courtesy of a OMG backdrop. OMG hits Walker with a Samoan Drop, then Bossman comes off the 2nd rope with a splash. 1…2…3. Winners: The Big Bossman and The One Man Gang when Bossman pinned Walker at 1:01. Overall: 69% Crowd Reaction: 63% Match Quality: 76% Afterwards, the Bossman continues to beat up on Peter Walker. Bossman stomps away at him when the One Man Gang tell Bossman that’s enough. Bossman seems to take exception and slaps OMG, and they both go at it! One Man Gang grabs a chain that makes the Bossman flee, and the crowd cheers as OMG stands tall in the ring! Overall: 69% Backstage, we are with James E. Cornette and Hakushi. “Hahaha you see, I always got a plan! I hear all the sheets, all the other wrestlers in the back saying that Cornette’s got nothing this time around. Well you’rre all wrong. I present to you not only the most dangerous man in the Japanese wrestling scene, but everywhere else as well. Hakushi has proven that he can go toe to toe with anyone in professional wrestling and he will show that in Global Championship Wrestling. How’s he gonna start? By winning the GCW World Championship, oh boy, I can’t wait!” Overall: 77% ::COMMERCIAL BREAK:: Ric Flair vs. Jeff Jarrett Jarrett tries to quickly attack Flair as he took off his rope, but Flair quickly fired back with chops. Flair chops Jarrett till it knocks Jarrett down. Flair continues the attack, chopping and punching away at Double J. Elbow knocks Jarrett down once again. Flair comes off the ropes, hits a knee drop. 1…2…Jarrett kicks out. Jarrett low blows Flair, and takes control of the match. Jarrett follows up with a knee breaker, then a fist drop. Jarrett puts Flair’s leg on the bottom rope and drops all his weight on it. Jarrett proceeds to strut across the ring, but when he turns around Flair is back on his feet and hits a big chop that sends Jarrett to the mat. Jarrett gets up, but is met with another chop that sends Jarrett to the outside! Flair does a bit of his own strutting in the ring before going to the outside after Jarrett. Flair continues to chop and punch Jarrett on the outside, but Jarrett is able to get his own shots in, and slams Flair into the guardrail. Jarrett makes his way back into the ring, but the referee turns his attention to Jarrett, not counting out Flair. Harley Race comes down to ringside and attacks Flair, slamming him into the steel steps before rolling him back into the ring. Jarrett locks in the Figure Four Leglock! Vader attacks Flair from behind, then beats the hell out of him! Vader pounds away on Flair and busts him wide open! Vader holds Flair up and Jarrett smashes his guitar right over Flair’s head! Jarrett locks in the Figure Four and Vader at the same time splashes Flair! Harley Race, Vader and Jarrett stand tall in the ring as the first episode of Primetime goes off the air! Winner: Ric Flair by submission at 14:32 Overall: 86% Crowd Reaction: 89% Match Quality: 80% Overall Show: 74% |

QWF Shell Shock From Seattle, Washington Wednesday, January 3, 1996 Bret Hart's music plays, and the crowd gets to its feet. "Well, I'm not here to do a lot, guys. But welcome to QWF, and I'm gonna bust my ass to make it the best wrestling the world has ever seen! To do that, I'm gonna ask a good friend, and my brother-in-law, The British Bulldog, to come out here!" The Bulldog's music plays, and he comes out. Bret continues. "So what do you say, Bulldog?" "I don't see why we can't give these people what they want!" They shake hands to cheers, and it's made official, Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog will be one of the matches for Suplexitive Order in 11 days, on Pay Per View. (85%) Ron Simmons vs Jerry Lawler Mr. Perfect: "Well, Brain, it's time for the first QWF match, and it should be a good one!" Bobby "The Brain" Heenan: "That's right, Perfect, and might I say, your name reminds me of me!" MP: "Come off it, Brain, it's Ron Simmons vs. Jerry Lawler, here we go." The bell rings, and they lock up. Lawler takes control early, with some of his patented punches, eventually nailing a spinning neckbreaker. Simmons tries to get back, but runs into a powerslam. Lawler tries a cover, but gets only two. Lawler is quick to slap a sleeper onto Simmons, and the former Seminole goes out. The ref raises Ron's hand... once... it flops down. Twice... flops again. Three... and it stays up! Ron gets energy from the cheering crowd, and executes a jawbreaker on Lawler! Both men struggle to their feet, and Simmons gets a fallaway slam onto the King! Lawler is pinned, but kicks out at two. Simmons picks Lawler up and throws Lawler against the ropes, going for a backdrop... but Lawler gets a kick to the face in! Lawler follows up by slamming Simmons hard. Cover for two. Simmons is down, and so is Lawler's strap! He climbs to the second rope for his punch... Simmons moves! Lawler gets up, only to be tosses to the rops again... Spinebuster by Ron Simmons! One, two, three! Ron Simmons wins the first match in QWF history, and celebrates his hard-earned victory. Ron Simmons pins Jerry Lawler in 11:14. 76% Crowd/72% Quality/74% Overall Tito Santana vs Bam Bam Bigelow This one had squash written all over it. From the beginning, Bam Bam Bigelow pummeled the former Intercontinental champ with punches and kicks, then with a DDT. Tito gets a few token shots in, but he's just overpowered. One diving headbutt later, and Bam Bam is your winner. After the match, Bigelow continues the beating, and even whacks Santana with a chair before referees come down to break the action up. Bam Bam Bigelow pins Tito Santana in 3:11. 66% Crowd/65% Quality/65% Overall Howard Finkel announces, "And now, the Chairman of the Board of Directors in QWF..." Ricky Steamboat's music plays, and out comes The Dragon. "Welcome to QWF, everybody! We're having a great time so far, and the hits will just keep on coming. Now, our first pay per view, Suplexitive Order, will be next Sunday, the 14th. We'll have two titles on the line. The tag team belts, and a new concept made for QWF, the All Comers belt. Anyone who thinks they can take the champion will sign up, then one will be randomly selected to go up against the champion. In addition, we'll have two excellent non-title matchups, Bret Hart and the British Bulldog will occur, and Sid will be up against a new signing, who I will debut later tonight. Finally, next week, we will have an announcement on the QWF World's Title. Until then, enjoy the rest of the show." 69% King Kong Bundy vs Stevie Richards and Duane Gill Crowd was tepid at best for this one. Bundy swatted both men away, then gave Gill a suplex, then a powerslam. Bundy covers Gill, but Stevie stops the count, drawing Bundy's ire. Richards takes a bodyslam from Bundy, but Gill gets off a clothesline. Bundy hits a clothesline of his own, sending Gill spinning through the air. Bundy sends Richards out of the ring, then hits the Avalanche for the academic three on Duane Gill. King Kong Bundy pins Duane Gill in 4:42. 48% Crowd/58% Quality/53% Overall We go backstage, where Isaac Yankem is watching tapes. IRS comes into the room. "Hey, wanna form a team?" "Uh... okay." The drama. 67% Diamond Dallas Page vs Ludvig Borga DDP has his way with Borga early on, getting move after move on the Russian. The crowd is with Page, and he gets a kneedrop in. DDP covers Borga, but gets only two. Borga breaks up Page's momentum, though, and is able to get an elbow in to his face. After going back and forth between beating on Page and getting two counts, Borga picks DDP up. Page slips out the back... DIAMOND CUTTER! But Borga falls out of the ring! DDP plays to the crowd, only to be smacked by a chair from Borga! The crowd boos Borga as Howard Finkel announces DDP as the winner. Diamond Dallas Page wins via DQ vs Ludvig Borga in 9:55. 72% Crowd/65% Quality/69% Overall Missy Hyatt comes down to the ring and takes a microphone. She announces that she has made a big new signing, and that her new client is Sycho Sid. Out comes Sycho Sid, and he shakes hands with his new manager, signaling their alliance. 77% Bret Hart and the Legion of Doom vs. Shane Douglas, Sid, and Lord Steven Regal Bret and Regal start the match off with some chain wrestling. Bret starts to get the best of him, but Regal pulls Bret's singlet, sending him out of the ring. Bret comes back in, blocks a punch, then gives Regal a suplex. Bret tags out to Hawk, who beats Regal down a bit. Regal is able to crawl to his corner and brings Shane Douglas in while Hawk tags in Animal. Animal goes after Douglas, but Shane ducks and puts a suplex on Animal. Animal gets put in a choke, which brings the two legal men near a neutral corner. Douglas goes to the second rope... BIG belly to belly! That took a lot out of both men! Shane drapes an arm over Animal... 1... 2... no! Animal gets a shoulder up! Shane tags to Regal, who stretches Animal a bit. After he's satisfied with the damage done, he goes over to tag Sid... but Sid drops down, and starts walking to the back! He's heard yelling, "I don't like any of you!" as he makes his way to the back. Shane and Steven are noticably angered by this, enough to get Regal caught in a clothesline! Animal tags Hawk in, and climbs to the top rope while Hawk lifts Steven Regal on his shoulders... Doomsday Device! Hawk tags Bret, and the Hitman locks in the Sharpshooter, forcing Regal to submit! 79% Crowd/73% Quality/77% Overall Ricky Steamboat is in the ring with a mic. There's a table in the ring with a clipboard. "Well now, it's time to introduce the newest member of QWF. He's a multiple time world champion. A media sensation. And he's here to take the QWF by storm... Without further ado, here he is!" There are a few seconds of pause, then familiar music plays. It's Hulk Hogan! The Hulkster has come to QWF! Hogan gets in the ring and takes a mic. "Well, you know something, Hulkamaniacs? I was getting tired of the lack of competition I was facing before, but in QWF, we have the biggest, brightest, and best collection of wrestlers the world has ever seen, dude! And when I heard that I could cement my legacy by becoming QWF World Champ, well, I couldn't pass that up for all the money in the world, brother! So to everyone else in QWF, I have one thing to say... WHACHA GONNA DO... WHEN THE LARGEST ARMS IN THE WORLD AND HULKAMANIA... RUN WILD ON YOU?!" Hogan signs the contract, and Hogan's music plays to end the show. 93% Overall: 74% Edited by JerryArr, Apr 15 2012, 09:02 PM.

BGWW Mayhem From the Times Union Center in Albany, NY Thursday, January 4, 1996 Show Report by "Some Totally Random Fan That We Didn't Pay to Write About the Show" Hurp Derpington A "Rude" Introduction The first ever episode of BGWW Mayhem begins with a video montage of its top stars, including Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart, & The Great Muta. It also features clips of rising young talent such as Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and Ken Shamrock. The final set of clips showcases the hardcore aspect of the promotion with old ECW clips of Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Taz, and The Sandman. We then pan around the crowd as they go nuts. They went even crazier than they were before when "Sexy Boy" started playing. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels came down to the ring to a wild ovation, slapping hands with the fans as he came down. With baited breath, the fans readied themselves for what HBK had to say. HBK: It looks to me that all the members of the Kliq made their way down here to Albany! *crowd goes nuts for the cheap pop* Everybody has been asking what the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels...is doing here in Blood and Guts Warriors of Wrestling. Well, let me lay it out for everyone. I was HARDCORE before anyone else was! I was jumping off ladders in front of an international audience before anyone else! Thus, the Hardcore Heartbreaker, Shawn Michaels, is a perfect fit for... Out of nowhere, "Simply Ravishing" hits and "Ravishing" Rick Rude comes out through the crowd and onto the ringside area. Rude grabs a mic and starts talking. Rude: Cut the music! What I'd like to have right now, is for all of you FAT, OUT OF SHAPE, NEW YORK SWEATHOGS to keep the noise down while I show you what a real star looks like. *Fans boo, thinking he's referring to himself.* With Shawn Michaels' attention turned towards Rick Rude, a familiar giant of a man quickly makes his way into the ring and attacks HBK! The fans who know he is, even without his sumo wrestling attire! It's Yokozuna! Yoko wails away on Michaels to the delight of Rick Rude, who then gets into the ring and gets back on the mic. Ladies and Gentlemen, and I do use that term rather loosely...I introduce to you the man who will deliver unto me the BGWW World Openweight championship, and rule this promotion with an iron fist. He weights over 600 lbs, and is a former world champion. THIS IS...KING KOKINA! The fans boo as Kokina stands over his fallen adversary, laughing at HBK as he tries to get up before hitting the ropes and dropping a huge leg on HBK, leaving him out cold. Both Kokina and Rude laugh some more before leaving the ring, having sent the message that they desire. Overall: 90 (HBK interview segment), 88 (Rude sets up HBK to be ambushed) *TWO SEGMENTS USED* Notes: King Kokina debuted new gimmick, negative response. Rick Rude gained overness. Three Way Dance - Eddie Guerrero vs Dean Malenko vs Jerry Lynn The first ever match in a BGWW ring is a three way dance between three of BGWW's finest young competitors. Guerrero and Lynn adopted an aggressive, high risk style against the more technical "Shooter" Dean Malenko. Unfortunately for the former Mr. JL, Malenko was able to adjust to him much faster. Lynn did have his moments though, as while Malenko & Guerrero were fighting on the outside, Lynn used referee John Finnegan as a stepping stone, literally. Lynn used Finnegan as a springboard to jump over the ropes and onto both Malenko & Guerrero, grabbing a huge pop from the crowd. Lynn was eliminated first, shortly after that spot at around the 8 minute mark. However, as a parting shot, Lynn hit Malenko right in the back of the head with an Enziguri. Meanwhile, Guerrero was coming to on the outside, saw an opportunity to put Malenko away with his Frog Splash, but Malenko got up just in time and rolled out of the way. The Shooter then quickly got to his feet and put Eddie in the Texas Cloverleaf! Smack-dab in the middle of the ring! Guerrero fights it for about a minute, but eventually cannot fight any longer and has to tap out. Dean Malenko is the first man to have his hand raised in victory! Result: Dean Malenko beat Eddie Guerrero & Jerry Lynn @ 10:51 when Malenko made Guerrero submit to the Texas Cloverleaf Ratings: (66, 56, 76) Nevermore! We are treated to a video montage of clips from the old ECW feud between Tommy Dreamer and Raven, which is sure to continue here in BGWW. Featured in the video were clips from their matches in April and May of 1995, to the tune of "Keep Them Separated" by The Offspring. At the end of the video, we see a silhouette of Raven doing his pose and saying "Quoth the Raven...NEVERMORE!!!" Overall: 71 (Raven & Dreamer gained overness) Singles - Tommy Dreamer vs Rick Martel Speaking of Tommy Dreamer...here he is! His opponent, a veteran of the ring wars from the ashes of the AWA and World Wrestling Federation, Rick Martel. Dreamer looked very good here, despite the veteran Martel having him in trouble at various points in the match with his superior technical ability, showing he could still compete with the younger wrestlers. At one point, Martel had Dreamer in his patented Boston Crab submission. Dreamer was able to fight his way to the ropes, and turn the tide around, before hitting his signature DDT! Martel drops with a big thud and after a 3 count from referee Jim Molineaux, that was all she wrote. Pretty bland, but I'm sure we'll see better from both guys. Result: Tommy Dreamer beat Rick Martel @ 11:49 with a DDT. Ratings: (56, 58, 54) - Tommy Dreamer gained overness, Rick Martel lost overness. After the match, as Dreamer is celebrating in the ring, Raven has come out of the crowd! That's the second time someone's come out of the crowd tonight...where on earth is security, getting a burger? Anyway, Raven hits the ring with a Stop Sign in hand! Raven whacks Dreamer over the head with it, then hits his Evenflow DDT, planting Dreamer's head on the Stop Sign! Raven has left Tommy Dreamer in a heap! Raven does his pose over Dreamer's body as we go to break. Welcome to Dudleyville The Smoking Gunns, Billy and Bart, are conversing backstage with a few of the other wrestlers, when from behind come Buh Buh Ray Dudley & his half-brother, D-Von! It's obvious they're related since they're both wearing tie-dye! Nevertheless, Buh Buh & D-Von just tear into the Smoking Gunns as the other wrestlers scatter, hoping to avoid becoming victims of this impromptu brawl. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, wood becomes involved in the brawl, as the Dudleys put Billy Gunn through a table! Officials eventually get to the scene and regain control of the situation, but the damage is done. *sniff* What's that smell? No, it's not the awful food at the concession stands, it's the smell of money! Chances are things aren't done between these two teams, because naturally...there's gotta be a match or something coming up. Rating: 63 (Buh Buh Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley gained overness) Singles - Bill Goldberg vs Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy On paper, this looked like a match between two solid brawlers. You were probably not going to see technical wrestling at its finest...and we didn't see anything resembling that. At least their brawling styles matched, so it wasn't a total clusterfuck. Unfortunately, by the time I got back to my seat from the concession stands, the match was over. I heard Goldberg won with a combination suplex & powerslam pinning combination. By the way, when I said "I heard"...I meant horribly underused 3rd announcer Tony Schiavone told me what happened and dubbed it "The greatest night in the history of our sport". I guess I'll take his word for it. Result: Bill Goldberg beat Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy @ 3:06 via pinfall. Ratings: (65, 57, 74) - Bill Goldberg gained overness, Terry Gordy lost overness. The Winner is Here, WOO!!! We see a car parked in front of the Times Union Center. The camera doesn't see who it is just yet, but a high pitched "Woo!!!" gives it away. The camera pans up and confirms our belief that it is indeed the "King of Harts" Owen Hart! Wasn't he supposed to be here earlier? I hope Tom Delgado fines him for being late! Anyway, I assume he's here for a reason and not just filling time while they drag whatever's left of Terry Gordy after Bill Goldberg demolished him. Rating: 87 Human Suplex Machine We are treated to a promo in the backstage area with "The Human Suplex Machine" Taz. Taz claims that there isn't anyone in BGWW that he can't make tap out to the Tazmission, nor is there anyone that he can't suplex. He went on to say that his "Path of Rage" starts tonight, and there is no mercy and no escape for anyone in his way. Rating: 66 (Taz gained overness.) Singles: Taz vs Chris Benoit Speaking of Taz...he's up next for a prospective technical showcase against "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit. Benoit made his name in Japan with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and is sure to be a tough match for Mr. Suplex Machine himself. The fans were into this one as if it were a Missy Hyatt sex tape. These two took their fight to the crowd, culminating with Benoit hitting a flying headbutt off of the railings that separate the fans and the ring. This was a technical showcase with both men looking absolutely superb in the ring, and out of it too. We know both guys as technical wrestling geniuses, but both of them showed that they can have a pretty damn good brawl too. The end comes after the 25 minute mark with Chris Benoit passing out in the Katahajime, aka the Tazmission. The fans ate it up and went crazy after the match, giving both men a standing ovation for their incredible efforts tonight. Result: Taz beat Chris Benoit @ 25:13 with the Tazmission Ratings: (74, 64, 84) - Taz gained overness. Chris Benoit lost overness. Main Event - Shawn Michaels vs Konnan I don't know how Shawn Michaels was able to recover in time for his main event match tonight against Mexican star Konnan. This one didn't last too long, as it just seemed like a bit of a rushjob. End comes at around the 10 minute mark with some Sweet Chin Music (Super Kick). Konnan never really had a chance to win but was able to hold his own in the early going, but the match wasn't about him. Afterwards, King Kokina & Ravishing Rick Rude come down to the ring while HBK was celebrating his win. Rude hands Kokina a chair, and Kokina lands a thunderous shot to HBK's head! Predictably, Shawn Michaels has been busted open as he is bleeding. If you had Shawn Michaels as the first bleeder in the history of Blood and Guts Warriors of Wrestling, you win! Result: Shawn Michaels beat Konnan @ 9:56 with Sweet Chin Music Ratings: (77, 79, 74) The show goes off the air with us once again seeing King Kokina standing over Shawn Michaels, with the fans telling him to "EAT MORE SUSHI!". At least they're not shouting obscenities at him, like they were shouting at me. I have to write about the show, so it's not my fault that I had to stand for most of it! Overall Show Rating: 73 TV Rating: 7.91 Post-Show Thoughts: Wow USA Network, stop moaning about me toning it down a bit. Did we kill anyone on our show? No...but that might be an idea for the future. For a first show, I didn't think it was too terrible. I apologize for the horrible writing though, we totally didn't pay him to write this report. Next time we'll hire someone more professional, someone who doesn't wear an "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt... Edited by Magoo Minaya, Apr 18 2012, 01:27 AM.

Posted Image ICW Saturday Night Superstars From Atlanta, Georgia Saturday, January 6th, 1996 The show opens with Superstar's theme song with a video featuring some of the top stars including Randy Savage, Sting, Lex Luger, Razor Ramon & Big Daddy Cool Diesel. After this we get a over the top fireworks display and a panning shot of the crowd before going to ringside with Jim Ross & Eric Bischoff. JR says it's electric here tonight and we have some huge matches as ICW kicks off. Bischoff agrees and says 16 men will get their shots to become ICW WORLD heavyweight champion, & tonight's main event features two of them when 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson steps into the squared circle against the man they call STING! - The two men are cut off as the music of Jake 'The Snake' Roberts gets a big pop and out he steps, a wry smile across his face. He's sporting some jeans and a t-shirt and he soaks in the cheers before entering the ring. After letting the "Welcome Back' chant die down he says it feels great to be back in a ring. It's been a long, hard road for him to get here and he promises to make the most of the 2nd chance the good lord has given him. Before he can get much further however, the music of Brian Pillman hits and out steps the deranged man himself in a pair of cut up jeans, leather jacket and a t-shirt with, ironically enough, a cobra on it. Pillman gets into the ring and says it's an honor to meet the originator of mind games. A MASTER strategist and thinker. Brian even admits that Jake The Snake inspired him... but the man in front of him? He isn't the Snake. He isn't the master manipulator. He's just Jake Roberts. A born again Christian LOSER. Pillman runs Jake down and says he's spent the last years of his life having idiots telling him he was wrong. That he was going down the wrong path... Pillman disagrees! He knows Jake has the dark side left in him, and if Jake wants to reach the next level he better re-find it. Roberts says Pillman is right about one thing. He isn't the same man he was before, he's BETTER because he's freed of his demons! In fact, he's going to show Pillman just how much better he is when he school's the 'young punk' later on in the program! Pillman just laughs and leaves the ring as JR and Bischoff wonder how Jake will fair against Brian Pillman later tonight. 85 ICW World Heavyweight Qualifier 'Pearl River Powerhouse' Ahmed Johnson vs. 'Supreme Fighting Machine' Kama w/ Ted DiBiase & Tatanka JR notes that DiBiase still has three clients in the ICW, and in f act all 3 will be looking to make progress in this world title tournament. This is a ugly brawl as Kama tries to take control with some stiff kicks and punches. Ahmed overcomes though and uses his power to toss around the usually tough to move Kama. Despite some interference assisted offense, it's clear that Ahmed is the star here and he finishes things off with the Pearl River Plunge to get the popular 3. 66/67/67 - We go backstage now where Todd Pettingill is with the 'Macho Man' Randy Savage. Todd asks him what his thoughts are having just seen the Million Dollar Corporation use gang tactics against Ahmed and knowing he faces the Native American Tatanka next! Savage says he's faced down men before. Bigger men, stronger men, MORE men. He promises us that he'll dig down deep. He wants to wear the world title bad and he'll do what it takes to get it tonight. Dig it? 87 ICW World Heavyweight Qualifier 'Macho Man' Randy Savage vs. 'Native American' Tatanka w/ Ted DiBiase & Kama These two meet eye to eye as Tatanka shouts back to Kama and Ted to 'Let him do this'. What follows is a great brawl as Savage and Tatanka tear into each other and fight around ringside, into the crowd briefly, and finally back in the ring. Tatanka comes close to the upset, even hitting a top rope chop, but in the end Randy drills him with the elbow before Kama runs in and attacks for the DQ finish! The fans boo as it seems the Million Dollar man's boys are set to attack when out runs Ahmed! He chases them off and has a staredown with his future opponent before shaking his hand to the crowds delight. 80/78/83 - Backstage again, and this time we are with 'The Bad Guy' Razor Ramon and his good friend Savio Vega. Razor says he's coming into ICW with some baggage. A couple problems named Goldust and the 1-2-3 Kid! He says tonight he gets a bit of revenge when he takes on both men alongside his friend Savio next week! Vega says that's not all. The two of them will also face off with Goldust & Kid in qualifiers the week after and Savio promises to take Goldust out and than go one on one with Razor to see who the better man is... that is after he teaches the Kid some respect! Razor agrees and says he can't wait for Savio vs. Razor! 80 Savio Vega gained overness from this segment. ICW World Heavyweight Title Qualifier 'Loose Cannon' Brian Pillman vs. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts These two have a heated contest, Jake looking extra fired up after Pillman's insults earlier in the night. The Loose Cannon uses this to his advantage though and manages to control much of the match by simply instigating Jake into mistakes. Pillman seems poised for a victory later into the bout but when he comes off the ropes for his trademark 'Air Pillman', Jake dodges it and slaps him into place for the DDT! Pillman quickly escapes the hold and once outside it's Roberts who plays the mind games, smirking at the Loose Cannon and asking him to show some balls for once in his life! Pillman flips at ringside, even grabbing the ring bell and swinging it wildly. Roberts waits inside before Pillman slides in and than manages a swift chop block. As Roberts recovers Brian leaves the ring, grabbing the bell and returning before he nails Jake for the DQ! The fans boo as Pillman let's a sadistic smile creep across his face as he yells that Jake is 'getting there' before he walks off. 80/84/73 - We are backstage with Arn Anderson now. Todd asks him if he's ready for one of the biggest matches of his life, and also what his plans are now. Anderson says that for a long time he's been the Enforcer. For a long time he's been the best at what he does. He hurts people. He takes them apart physically, mentally and does so by whatever means he has too. But what's it gotten him? Instead of being viewed as an equal to Ric Flair people call him a shadow. A 2nd stringer... and back-up! Well no more! Arn promises that starting tonight he's going to show ICW exactly how dangerous he is as he moves on the path towards what he deserves... the world heavyweight title! 82 - We see a woman in a tiara in the ring, who Eric Bischoff identifies as Debra McMichael. Debra asks all of the 'hicks' in the crowd to please shut up. She's hear to announce something important. In fact, it's wrestling history! Tonight the wrestling world gets to see the first EVER Super Bowl champion to grace a wrestling ring! A man who was the voice of WCW in it's dying days and now, in this very ring, he will show why he's not just an All-Pro football MEGASTAR... he's an All-Pro Wrestler! Please welcome former Chicago Bears legend. Her husband... Steve 'Mongo' McMichael! The fans clearly don't like this guy, but out steps Mongo in a letterman style jacket with his name across the front and sporting some shades. He's wearing some black trunks with his number (76) on them. He seemingly ignores the booing as he enters the ring and kisses his wife, getting even more heat. 65 Steve 'Mongo' McMichael vs. Johnny Ace Ace comes out in full surfer mode, riding a skateboard down the ramp and high fiving the fans. That's about as much action as he manages though because once he's in the ring Mongo uses his power to dominate. Bischoff and JR go over his NFL accomplishments and say he's spent a lot of time training. It's clearly paying off here and he tops off Ace with a sitout tombstone piledriver (Called the Mongo Spike) to get the three. He celebrates with his wife but the crowd was still pretty pumped from the last fight. 51/43/60 This match suffered because the crowd were still pumped up from the last one, and so this bout was seen as something of a let-down to them. - It's almost main event time, but first? It's SHOWTIME! We are with Sting who says tonight he starts a road to world title glory! He says ICW is a fresh start and one cue, onto the scene walks Lex Luger. The 'Total Package' says he agrees and hopes Sting can forgive his past transgressions. He wants to see the Stinger wearing ICW gold and promises to give his full support from ringside. Luger says that's fine... just keep out of the ring! He wants to show Arn Anderson he can beat him fair and square. Luger promises to oblige and the two shake on it to end the segment. 87 ICW World Heavyweight Title Qualifier 'The Man They Call' Sting w/ Lex Luger vs. 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson While the match is rather weak, the crowd go nuts as these two engage in a wild brawl. Arn shows he's ready to hang as he takes Sting apart, focusing on the back and using the ring apron, steel post and a variety of slams to work the spine over. Sting is left playing catch-up early and often as a concerned Luger looks on from ringside. The match almost ends after a hard DDT from Arn, but Sting manages to get a foot on the rope. After this he starts a slight comeback but the momentum is killed when Arn manages to dodge the Stinger Splash and hits a stiff backdrop out of the corner. Signaling for the end Lex has seen enough as he hops onto the apron and distracts the ref. Arn is distracted briefly too which allows Sting to hit a big Stinger Splash on an unsuspecting Arn! When he notices Lex however he admonishes his friend. As the two argue though Arn recovers and when Sting turns he eats a big Spinebuster!~ which allows Arn to pin him for the 3! Anderson quickly exits as Lex slides in and helps Sting up... but Sting shoves him down and stares his friend down to close the show! 85/92/71 Arn Anderson gained overness from this match. Overall: 77 |

Posted Image Sunday, January 7, 2005, Live on PPV, 7:30 PM Madison Square Garden, New York, NY The theme of The Beginning plays, and we kick off the PPV! “Hello everyone I’m Vince McMahon and we have a night full of exciting action live on Pay-Per-View! Tonight, the Heavyweight Championship of the World will be decided in a 10 man battle royal! I’m here with the American Dream Dusty Rhodes and the Professor Mike Tenay.” “Hello, I’m the Professor Mike Tenay, we have tonight, three matches that I feel can steal the show. In the hardcore wrestling of Japan, FMW, we will see two guys in two different matches, one being the Phoenix, the great Hayabusa against one of the most underrated martial artists in the independent scene, Rob Van Dam. The other FMW star and independent hardcore legend, Sabu, is perhaps one of the most barbaric wrestlers in wrestling today anywhere. He takes an another guy with a violent reputation in the Canadian independent scene, Rhino Richards. Lastly, two great Japanese wrestlers, the Ultimo Dragon and Taka Michnoku, will also be in action tonight.” “I’ll tell ya Vince McMahon I’m most lookin forward to the challenge that King Mabel made. I wanna see Mabel get beat down by Death himself, the Undertaker! And how can we forget, Harley Race has someone to fight Bob Holly tonight for that 10th spot in the battle royal!” Hayabusa vs. Rob Van Dam RVD and Hayabusa circle around each other, both using lightning-like kicks to create spacing between each other. They lock up, and RVD sends Hayabusa off the ropes. Shoulder tackle by Hayabusa knocks RVD down.
