In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. 2035 Nominations Lorenzo Clay 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2033/players/player208.htm Career stats: 20153 points (58th), 10385 assists (9th), 2167 steals (21st), 49 triple doubles (5th) The case for Lorenzo Clay: Was a huge part of 3 different title teams, and became a 3 time playoff MVP. Was a very productive player on both ends of the floor. Former MVP of the league. The case against Lorenzo Clay: His longevity of good play did not last as long as many other elite PGs (arguably 12 years). Despite winning playoff MVP 3 times, you could argue he wasn't the best player on any of the teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kenneth Marshall http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2034/players/player529.htm Career stats: 20669 points (55th), 16336 rebounds (3rd), 4699 blocks (1st), 5641 FTs (10th), 860 double doubles (2nd) The case for Kenneth Marshall: Arguably the best defensive big man in EBL history. Everywhere he went, he made his team better. Won numerous accolades throughout his career. Elevated the play of his teammates around him. The case against Kenneth Marshall: Never an elite scoring big man. Poor passer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kuran Iverson http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2034/players/player275.htm Career stats: 1541 games (2nd), 35809 points (2nd), 13653 FGs (2nd), 2281 steals (17th), 5060 FTs (17th), 3443 3s (1st) The case for Kuran Iverson: One of the best scorers in EBL history. Was a huge part of the Lakers 2 title wins. The most prolific 3pt shooter in EBL history. A very good defender much of his career. The case against Kuran Iverson: Even at his best, was never a very good handler (and dwindled down to terrible later in his career at it). Never had much team or individual success after peaking early. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Larry Austin http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2034/players/player524.htm Career stats: 1397 games (8th), 27577 points (16th), 12731 assists (4th), 2966 steals (2nd), 10561 FGs (14th), 2358 3s (14th), 647 double doubles (15th), 37 triple doubles (11th), 3930 turnovers (3rd) The case for Larry Austin: An elite scoring and passing PG for much of his career. One of the best defenders at PG throughout much of his career. A strong rebounder for his position The case against Larry Austin: Always had a problem with turnovers. Won his only title late in his career when he was a non factor, despite leading many good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Salvatore Pirozzi http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2033/players/player451.htm Career stats: 24748 points (30th), 13064 rebounds (14th), 9117 FGs (31st), 6046 FTs (4th), 748 double doubles (8th) The case for Salvatore Pirozzi: An extremely consistent big man for much of his career (you could count on 20/10 from him). One of the better offensive big men in the league throughout much of his career. Became a very strong SF later in his career. The case against Salvatore Pirozzi: Was a very poor defender as a big man. Never blocked shots.
