In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. 2036 Nominations Lorenzo Clay 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2033/players/player208.htm Career stats: 20153 points (62nd), 10385 assists (9th), 2167 steals (21st), 49 triple doubles (6th) The case for Lorenzo Clay: Was a huge part of 3 different title teams, and became a 3 time playoff MVP. Was a very productive player on both ends of the floor. Former MVP of the league. The case against Lorenzo Clay: His longevity of good play did not last as long as many other elite PGs (arguably 12 years). Despite winning playoff MVP 3 times, you could argue he wasn't the best player on any of the teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Larry Austin 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2034/players/player524.htm Career stats: 1397 games (9th), 27577 points (17th), 12731 assists (4th), 2966 steals (2nd), 10561 FGs (15th), 2358 3s (17th), 647 double doubles (17th), 37 triple doubles (11th), 3930 turnovers (3rd) The case for Larry Austin: An elite scoring and passing PG for much of his career. One of the best defenders at PG throughout much of his career. A strong rebounder for his position The case against Larry Austin: Always had a problem with turnovers. Won his only title late in his career when he was a non factor, despite leading many good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Beasley 3rd Nomination Career stats: 31866 points (9th), 9955 rebounds (44th), 12011 FGs (8th), 6134 FTs (2nd) The case for Michael Beasley: Very durable player. One of the best and most consistent scorers in EBL history (streak of 20+ ppg for 14-15 seasons in a row). Still in the top 10 in points despite retiring a decade ago. Won a title as the No.2 to LeBron in NY. Very good rebounder for a SF. The case against Michael Beasley: Always an average defender at best. Could have won more. Was never the No.1 guy on a team until late in his career, and never won much at it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Song Niu 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2032/players/player595.htm Career stats: 17262 points (89th), 10634 rebounds (36th), 3505 blocks (13th), 572 double doubles (24th) The case for Song Niu: A highly productive and valued center (7 time all star). Was consistently in the top 5 at his position year in and out. A very productive shooter for a big man. Elite shot blocker. The case against Song Niu: Played for a surprisingly short amount of time (13 seasons). Though he was a consistent scorer, never was an elite one. Good, not great rebounder throughout his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bart Roser http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2035/players/player264.htm Career stats: 34777 points (3rd), 4944 assists (66th), 1985 steals (28th), 12856 FGs (4th), 6043 FTs (5th), 3022 3s (3rd) The case for Bart Roser: One of the best and most consistent scorers of all time (scored 20 PPG or more in all of his 17 EBL seasons). Elite shooter. Very good rebounder for a guard. Very good defender most of his career The case against Bart Roser: Was a solid all around player, but not an elite one.
