#1 Posted Image Breaking Bad (54)
Main Cast Members: Bryan Cranston as "Walter White" Posted Image Aaron Paul as "Jesse Pinkman" Posted Image Anna Gunn as "Skyler White" Posted Image Dean Norris as "Hank Schrader" Posted Image Betsy Brandt as "Marie Schrader" Posted Image RJ Mitte as "Walter White Jr." Posted Image Bob Odenkirk as "Saul Goodman" Posted Image Laura Fraser as "Lydia Rodare-Quayle" Posted Image Jesse Plemons as "Todd Alquist" Posted Image -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional Analysis: Breaking Bad just concluded its final season, and makes its first appearance on an EBL favorite TV shows of the year list, reaching no.1 by a large margin. It received the most first place votes, which made it very difficult for any other show to compete with. The final season was loved by critics and fans alike, with some calling it the best final season of any TV show ever (the episode Ozymandias being the highlight). The final season saw Walter White's life fall apart as Hank found out about his secret life, which led to his relationship with Jesse falling apart on the business and professional side, and his personal life shatter when his son also found out about his business (also thinking he killed Hank). It ended with Walter redeeming himself slightly, saving Jesse from the Nazis and destroying his meth business once and for all (ultimately costing himself his life, which was ending soon anyway from his cancer return). Breaking Bad was a compelling show for much of its run and deserves a spot in the rankings of best TV shows ever. It is no surprise that its final season won this so easily. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you all for voting! A complete breakdown of vote results will be posted tomorrow. |

Stole some of my commentary of the shows from the Greatest TV ever poll. 10. Inside the NBA. I don't really like the NBA a lot, but this is the best sports show on television. 9. The Chase. A unique show where it's a team versus a very smart and knowledgeable person nicknamed "The Beast". Very intense. 8. Only Connect. One of the most difficult quiz shows ever. It's a "what do these have in common" game, where you have to have a wide range of knowledge to be successful, not to mention a brain like a gymnast. 7. Whose Line is it Anyway. Yes, it came back on the CW in 2013! Yes, it's still funny! 6. Doctor Who: Probably the most well-rounded sci-fi show in history, and one I've just recently started to get into. The 50th anniversary special and Christmas special were both outstanding. 5. Top Gear: The humor and presentation of Top Gear makes it appealing even to those without much interest in car culture. They do a lot of creative things on the show, from long-distance trips to sports played in cars. Still the most awesome motoring show... in the world. 4. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Catchy songs, great animation and voice acting, and genuinely entertaining writing make this show a surprising hit, both with the internet and with me. There was a long pause between seasons but the writers showed that the wait would be worth it. (Some fun episodes fell just outside 2013 fwiw) 3. QI (British panel show): How many moons does Earth have? If you said one, you're wrong! This show learns you some facts about things you thought you already knew, and the always funny panel provides laughs-a-plenty. The show is currently in the K series (#11, they go by letters) and is well worth it, especially the longer XL versions. 2. Mythbusters: What's cooler than blowing stuff up? Blowing stuff up for science! The Mythbusters cleverly test myths to determine what's what, and do it in a way that's entertaining, even before they break out the C4. Also, be sure to check out tested.com for more of Adam and Jamie. 1. The Price is Right: The grand daddy of game shows. It was already classic when Bob Barker hosted it, and I think it's only gotten better since he retired and Drew Carey took over. This is season 42, and nothing seems to be stopping it from another 42 or more. |

1. The Walking Dead 2. Revolution 3. Sleepy Hollow 4. How I Met Your Mother 5. The Office 6. Big Bang Theory 7. Modern Family 8. Once Upon a Time 9. Falling Skies 10. Rookie Blue Not surprised by the top 5 or the winner. I really need to watch POI. On another note, I've watched the first few episodes of Brooklyn 9-9 now...so far...great show. Deserving of being on this list. |
