In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. 2037 Nominations Larry Austin 3rd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2034/players/player524.htm Career stats: 1397 games (10th), 27577 points (23rd), 12731 assists (5th), 2966 steals (3rd), 10561 FGs (21st), 2358 3s (17th), 647 double doubles (17th), 37 triple doubles (12th), 3930 turnovers (4th) The case for Larry Austin: An elite scoring and passing PG for much of his career. One of the best defenders at PG throughout much of his career. A strong rebounder for his position The case against Larry Austin: Always had a problem with turnovers. Won his only title late in his career when he was a non factor, despite leading many good teams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Song Niu 4th Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2032/players/player595.htm Career stats: 17262 points (97th), 10634 rebounds (38th), 3505 blocks (13th), 572 double doubles (24th) The case for Song Niu: A highly productive and valued center (7 time all star). Was consistently in the top 5 at his position year in and out. A very productive shooter for a big man. Elite shot blocker. The case against Song Niu: Played for a surprisingly short amount of time (13 seasons). Though he was a consistent scorer, never was an elite one. Good, not great rebounder throughout his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Salvatore Pirozzi 2nd Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2033/players/player451.htm Career stats: 24748 points (34th), 13064 rebounds (15th), 9117 FGs (35th), 6046 FTs (6th), 748 double doubles (8th) The case for Salvatore Pirozzi: An extremely consistent big man for much of his career (you could count on 20/10 from him). One of the better offensive big men in the league throughout much of his career. Became a very strong SF later in his career. The case against Salvatore Pirozzi: Was a very poor defender as a big man. Never blocked shots. Also never won a title. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Marsalis Johnson http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2036/players/player469.htm Career stats: 1572 games (1st), 17918 rebounds (2nd), 3843 blocks (8th), 651 double doubles (15th) The case for Marsalis Johnson: One of the best rebounders in EBL history. Had at least 12 RPG for 11 straight years. Very strong shot blocker. Extremely durable player. Good defender. The case against Marsalis Johnson: Never was a good scorer. Played way too long, ruining some of his legacy. Mediocre passer and handler for much of his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tacio Vega http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2036/players/player294.htm Career stats: 1527 games (4th), 28153 points (19th), 9469 rebounds (58th), 2473 steals (14th), 10608 FGs (20th), 4755 FTs (32nd), 2182 3s (27th) The case for Tacio Vega: An elite defender for much of his career. A very strong all around player. A consistently good scorer for much of his career. A great handler for his entire career (1.1 career TOPG) The case against Tacio Vega: Was never among the best SFs in EBL. Halfcourt Heroes Posts: 3,868 Group: Members Member #12 Joined: May 15, 2010	Larry Austin - He was overshadowed by a lot of amazing PG's during his prime, but when you look at his resume he was probably a top 5 PG for most of his prime if not for some bad luck he might have won a title in his prime as well. Marsalis Johnson - In addition to incredible durability (Only missed more then 5 games once in a season as a starter) his rebounding, defense and blocking helped him anchor a lot of great defenses. He also won two titles as a starter which can't be ignored.
