The rules are simple: You pick 2 members out of this list, and the 2 who receive the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. You must vote for 2 if you decide to vote. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. 2038 Nominations Song Niu 5th and Final Nomination http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2032/players/player595.htm Career stats: 17262 points (100th), 10634 rebounds (41st), 3505 blocks (13th), 572 double doubles (28th) The case for Song Niu: A highly productive and valued center (7 time all star). Was consistently in the top 5 at his position year in and out. A very productive shooter for a big man. Elite shot blocker. The case against Song Niu: Played for a surprisingly short amount of time (13 seasons). Though he was a consistent scorer, never was an elite one. Good, not great rebounder throughout his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scott Duncan http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2037/players/player259.htm Career stats: 31621 points (10th), 10278 rebounds (45th), 9316 assists (17th), 12146 FGs (8th), 5048 FTs (23rd), 2281 3s (24th), 620 double doubles (20th), 152 triple doubles (1st), 4166 turnovers (2nd) The case for Scott Duncan: A one of a kind player. As a PG, he was pretty much guaranteed to get a triple double for 1/3 the seasons games. An extremely productive scorer, rebounder and passer at PG. Was a former multiple time 6th man of the year and good starting SF as well. Won 1 title as the his teams best player and made multiple other finals as well. The case against Scott Duncan: Could be argued he was a bad defender at times. Very turnover prone, setting multiple records for it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Francisco Page http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2037/players/player590.htm Career stats: 26257 points (31st), 15836 rebounds (5th), 4378 blocks (3rd), 9839 FGs (33rd), 913 double doubles (2nd) The case for Francisco Page: One of the most productive big men in EBL history. Was an elite scoring big in a league with very few of them. Was also a very underrated rebounder throughout his career. Good shot blocker/defender. The case against Francisco Page: Never won a title and it could be argued he was not a good playoff performer. Had no outside game to speak of. Very poor handler. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joe Brake http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2037/players/player289.htm Career stats: 29702 points (17th), 4963 assists (69th), 2024 steals (29th), 11041 FGs (18th), 4788 FTs (31st), 2832 3s (6th) The case for Joe Brake: An elite scorer for much of his career (over 20 PPG his first 14 seasons in EBL). Very good rebounder and solid passer for his position as well. Elite 3pt shooter. Was a big part of 2 Spurs title teams. 9 time all star. The case against Joe Brake: Struggled with turnovers much of his career. Became a bad defender in the 2nd half of his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Benjamin Gonzalez http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2036/players/player464.htm Career stats: 21695 points (54th), 14134 rebounds (11th), 5144 FTs (19th), 730 double doubles (11th) The case for Benjamin Gonzalez: One of the better PFs in EBL most of his career. Extremely productive and consistent (17-20 ppg most of his career). Good rebounder most of his career. Good outside game for a big man. 8 time all star. The case against Benjamin Gonzalez: Never was a shot blocker or great defender. Was a productive player, but it could be argued he wasn't a big impact one. Current Vote Tally Scott Duncan: 15 Song Niu: 9 Francisco Page: 7 Benjamin Gonzalez: 1 Joe Brake: 0 Edited by Mofoticon, Apr 13 2014, 03:10 PM.

I have to go with Scott Duncan and Song Niu. And I'll let it be known that the only reason song is getting in is because he deserves to be in and this is his last year with the ability to do so. |

Scott Duncan - A consistently elite talent (Also incredibly versatile) and always a great playoff performer, even if he only got one ring out of it. His seemingly regular Triple Doubles made up for his short comings as a defender and his awful turnover ratio (And yes, it was awful). Francisco Page - While I have bashed him a lot, I've also said he was a surefire Hall Of Fame player and I stand by that. He was one of EBL's great scoring big men of all time and his rebounding and blocking skills were elite. Did he ever lead a team on a deep playofff run? No. But not many bigs period can say they did and it takes nothing away from an amazing with 8 All-League team appearences, DPOTY and a 26/13.3 season that I have almost never seen matched. |
