The rules are simple: You pick 2 members out of this list, and the 2 who receive the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. You must vote for 2 if you decide to vote. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks! In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available. 2040 Nominations David ONeal http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player142.htm Career stats: 1557 games (3rd), 33077 points (6th), 15594 assists (1st), 2394 steals (18th), 12487 FGs (6th), 5189 FTs (21st), 2914 3s (5th), 827 double doubles (4th), 66 triple doubles (t-3rd), 3448 turnovers (9th) The case for David ONeal: Was one of the most productive players in EBL history. Averaged at least 20.9 PPG in 14 different seasons. Averaged double figures in assists 14 different seasons. Prolific winner (3 time champ, 3 time playoff MVP). 2 time regular season MVP. Most successful passer in EBL history (by over 1600 assists). Very good to great defender much of his career. Longevity was almost unmatched among PGs (playoff MVP his final season). The case against David ONeal: Even though he won 3 titles, could've won even more but didn't come through as often as he could've. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chris Willis http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player414.htm Career stats: 33251 points (5th), 12490 FGs (5th), 5438 FTs (15th), 2833 3s (7th) The case for Chris Willis: One of the most prolific and successful scorers in EBL history. At one point, had 4 straight seasons of 30+ PPG. Did much of his scoring on elite teams, further proving his talent. Formed an elite 1-2 duo with David ONeal in multiple stops. Great 3pt shooter for much of his career. Good rebounder during his prime. 2 time EBL champion with OKC. 10 time all star along with 5 EBL 1st teams and 3 2nd teams. Was either the best or one of the best SFs in EBL for almost a decade. The case against Chris Willis: Never was a huge impact defender (not many SPG or BPG throughout his career). Was a solid passer but nothing to take hold of for most of his career. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gary Hamilton http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player120.htm Career stats: 32443 points (9th), 9415 assists (18th), 2911 steals (8th), 12463 FGs (7th), 2624 3s (14th), 3478 turnovers (8th) The case for Gary Hamilton: A very successful scorer throughout his entire career. Was a 2 time champion and playoff MVP with the Spurs. Had 11 seasons with at least 25 PPG in his career. Was a great defender much of his career. Transitioned successfully to SG late in his career. Proved multiple times that for all his faults, you could build a winner in EBL around him at starting PG. The case against Gary Hamilton: Struggled consistently with handling for much of his career. Was never a "traditional" PG because of low APG and high TOPG. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ray Bonds http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player254.htm Career stats: 1469 games (8th), 30746 points (17th), 10461 rebounds (51st), 6671 assists (47th), 3188 steals (2nd), 11636 FGs (17th), 5275 FTs (17th), 2199 3s (32nd) The case for Ray Bonds: A very versatile combo guard who had lots of success at PG and SG. One of the best guards in EBL history at rebounding and stealing, as well as general defense. Very good passer whether at PG or SG. Had a 12 season stretch with at least 21.7 PPG each year. Very durable player with great longevity. Made 6 all league 1st teams in an era with a lot of perimeter talent, showing how good he really was. The case against Ray Bonds: Was on plenty of successful teams, but won his only title late in his career with Houston after failing multiple times. Had some struggles with turnovers, especially when playing PG. Very inconsistent 3pt shooter. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Elin Tryggvason http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player597.htm Career stats: 19194 points (81st), 11966 rebounds (27th), 3315 blocks (19th), 628 double doubles (20th) The case for Elin Tryggvason: Didn't have a long career, but made a big impact still. 2 time champion who also made a 3rd finals. Was considered one of the best defensive big man in EBL during his prime. Extremely efficient shooter for a big man (career shooting of 47%). Provided very good scoring from the center spot for a 7 year period of 2027-2034. Very good shot blocker and good rebounder throughout his career. Never struggled with turnovers. The case against Elin Tryggvason: Was a poor FT shooter and a non existent passer. Had no outside game to speak of. Didn't have great longevity in this league. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Current Vote Tally David ONeal: 16 Chris Willis: 11 Gary Hamilton: 6 Ray Bonds: 1 Elin Tryggvason: 0 Edited by Mofoticon, Jul 16 2014, 09:22 PM.

Strong choices...its between O'Neal, Hamilton, and Willis...hard to knock one of those out of a first ballot vote.... But that being said I'll go O'Neal and Willis. |

David O'Neal - One of the best PG's of all-time. He always seemed to make his teams better and his longevity is hard to match. 3 titles doesn't hurt either. Chris Willis - I felt he was always kind of underrated despite his prolific scoring and incredible success. He was probably taken for granted just how great he was in his career but he deserves the nod here. I also have to say, this was one of the most stacked retirement lcasses I've probably ever seen. These 5, plus Coffman, AJones, Reynolds & even Ashford were all very good players. Impressive class for sure. |

I've had four of the five...damn Sophie's choice. I'll go with David ONeal and Gary Hamilton. When in doubt, go with the MVPs |
