The rules are simple: You pick 2 members out of this list, and the 2 who receive the most votes will be in the HOF. You may choose to give reasons for your voting or not, but please consider all candidates and don't jump to conclusions in voting. You must vote for 2 if you decide to vote. Voting ends next Thursday. Thanks!

In addition, the stats site archive will be used for players pages who retired during the years available.

2041 Nominations

Gary Hamilton

2nd Nomination

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player120.htm

Career stats: 32443 points (10th), 9415 assists (19th), 2911 steals (8th), 12463 FGs (8th), 2624 3s (16th), 3478 turnovers (8th)

The case for Gary Hamilton: A very successful scorer throughout his entire career. Was a 2 time champion and playoff MVP with the Spurs. Had 11 seasons with at least 25 PPG in his career. Was a great defender much of his career. Transitioned successfully to SG late in his career. Proved multiple times that for all his faults, you could build a winner in EBL around him at starting PG.

The case against Gary Hamilton: Struggled consistently with handling for much of his career. Was never a "traditional" PG because of low APG and high TOPG.

Ray Bonds

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player254.htm

2nd Nomination

Career stats: 1469 games (8th), 30746 points (17th), 10461 rebounds (56th), 6671 assists (47th), 3188 steals (2nd), 11636 FGs (17th), 5275 FTs (18th), 2199 3s (34th)

The case for Ray Bonds: A very versatile combo guard who had lots of success at PG and SG. One of the best guards in EBL history at rebounding and stealing, as well as general defense. Very good passer whether at PG or SG. Had a 12 season stretch with at least 21.7 PPG each year. Very durable player with great longevity. Made 6 all league 1st teams in an era with a lot of perimeter talent, showing how good he really was.

The case against Ray Bonds: Was on plenty of successful teams, but won his only title late in his career with Houston after failing multiple times. Had some struggles with turnovers, especially when playing PG. Very inconsistent 3pt shooter.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike Reynolds

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2039/players/player150.htm

Career stats: 27452 points (26th), 2491 steals (15th), 10340 FGs (25th), 2456 3s (19th)

The case for Mike Reynolds: Was one of the best scorers in EBL over a full decade worth of games. Had one of the best seasons in EBL history (2028). Elite shooter for much of his career. Very good at getting steals. Solid rebounder for his position.

The case against Mike Reynolds: Never a great ball handler or passer. Become a bad defender as his career went on. Never won a title despite playing on many good teams.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eric Bauer

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2040/players/player238.htm

Career stats: 34113 points (5th), 12941 FGs (4th), 5532 FTs (13th), 2699 3s (11th)

The case for Eric Bauer: One of the most prolific scorers in EBL history. Scored at least 22.8 PPG in 16 straight seasons from year 2 to the end of his career. Elite rebounder and passer at the SF position. Turned the Mavs franchise around and made 4 finals in all (winning once). One of the most efficient scorers in EBL history (career shooting of .481). 8 time all star at a loaded position in EBL. Strong defender much of his early career. Transitioned to PG his final year and was able to win his 4th conference title.

The case against Eric Bauer: Become a worse defender as his career went on. Never much of a SPG guy. TOPG wasn't an issue but also wasn't a strength.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perry Zimmerman

http://www.mchlclrk.com/old_ebl/2040/players/player432.htm

Career stats: 20284 points (72nd), 13814 rebounds (13th), 2908 blocks (29th), 5289 FTs (17th), 727 double doubles (12th)

The case for Perry Zimmerman: Very consistent throughout his entire career (you could count on 15/11 from him at the worst). Was the best or 2nd best player on the 2033 76ers champion team and started for 1 other champion (2035 Rockets), as well as backing up for the 2040 Lakers title team, proving himself to be a winning player. Underrated offensive player as he shot very efficiently for a big man (.451). 6 time all star. Solid shot blocker for much of his career. Turnovers were a non issue. Good defender most of his career.

The case against Perry Zimmerman: Never was a flashy player so he was overlooked often. No outside or passing game to speak of. Not a very good FT shooter. While a very good rebounder, never a dominant one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Current Vote Tally

Eric Bauer: 12
Gary Hamilton: 10
Ray Bonds: 3
Mike Reynolds: 2
Perry Zimmerman: 1

Gary Hamilton - Two time champion, big time scorer and was pretty strong for the majority of his career.

Eric Bauer - 5th all-time in scoring, won a lot and was a starter almost his whole career as well (That's rarer and rarer).
